This is the best thing I've played so far haha, 10/10 story, 10/10 soundtrack. No joke, I'd actually play a full game with a soundtrack and sound effects similar to this. The capitulating moment at the end of the song with the clapping made me smile.

While the level design has some good ideas, it has some issues, and I was confused on where to go a lot of the time. I was surprised at the length of the game, and I'm not even sure I made it to the end? I was at the street level, but where were you supposed to go?

Also, the revolving door was perhaps a tad too deadly haha.

Great entry! Although my back hurts now.

hjalte 2020-10-06 11:47

My pick for best soundtrack, "His name is Frederiiick and he's got a big..." Only issue: Why do I explode if I touch the revolving door!?!

zachary-granger 2020-10-08 01:17

@gautstafr @hjalte thank you so much for the compliments!! We're mostly hoping you get a laugh out of it and it sounds like that worked  I had a good time making that song...

We definitely aimed too big and had to cut corners - I added a guide in the description on what the levels are and some tips on what to do. The ending is worth getting, I promise you that...

Also yeah that revolving door is a test of skill. Maybe we went overboard. Whoops!

larryseinfeld 2020-10-08 01:49

@gautstafr @hjalte Haha, thanks for the positive feedback! We had a lot of fun making all the ridiculousness in this game and we're glad somebody can appreciate it.

We really wanted a to add a little text on the screen to better indicate what to do in each segment of the game, but we ran out time. We actually ran out of time on a lot of stuff (definitely bit off more than we could chew with this one), but I'm just glad you could get some enjoyment out of it.

And yeah the revolving door might have been a little harsh, but we thought it was realistic that if you touch the side of a revolving door you explode.

This game is a modern-day Franz Kafka.

larryseinfeld 2020-10-08 02:33

@pca Haha thanks! It's an absolute honour to be compared to such an artist. I will frame this comment on my wall.

vphyre 2020-10-08 05:03

Haha a lot of fun your game. I liked the mechanics haha, good job!

kaisenthegreatone 2020-10-08 07:16

A-MA-ZING. Just amazing. One of the best ones I played so far. Just because of the idea. The idea is just great. And the soundtrack  .

minibetrayal 2020-10-08 09:12

Perhaps not the most polished of games, but i genuinely had more fun playing this than any other LD entry so far. The concept is hilarious, and I could totally see myself paying money for a polished, goat-simulator-style version of this game.

Sadly a car hit me on the way home from work and launched me into a wall where i got stuck, but until then i was having a blast.

Also I think i managed to cheese the office maze by squeezing through some gaps im not sure were supposed to be there

raivk 2020-10-08 12:12

What the... WELL WELL WELL... That's "Something" you got there. Perfect sound design :ok_hand:

Honestly, quite cool game :D

witekwitek 2020-10-08 17:58

This is one of the games that have more slapstick humor than the actual gameplay. (I don't have a problem with that). It fits the theme very well. But i do have my complaints.

1.The sensitivity is too sensitive for the camera 2. The first level coudive had an tutorial 3. The elevator button was kinda too hard to press. 4. The elevator closed too fast.

Overall, Fun and Funny game!

makbeard 2020-10-08 18:06

Loved it hahaha, much fun!

armenbalian 2020-10-08 18:13

ahahahah omg. really fun game. I needed to check the soluce because I was stuck in the city. Nice story

theg 2020-10-08 18:26

My nomination for game of the century. Breathtaking soundtrack, stellar voice performances, and a captivating story full of twists and turns. Sadly I got clipped into a house just before getting home and couldn't escape. The controls are unwieldy but I'll excuse it as being part of the charm. I love seeing games like this in jams.

larryseinfeld 2020-10-09 00:31

@vphyre @kaisenthegreatone @minibetrayal @raivk @witekwitek @makbeard @armenbalian @theg Thanks everyone! We didn't expect to this kind of positive response, so we greatly appreciate the compliments! Our game was definitely rough around the edges, but we would have polished it a lot more had we had more time. Still happy you were all entertained by our silly minds!

fupi 2020-10-09 13:35

This has got to be the best thing I've played, probably in my life. Reminds me a lot of Octodad, and those "simulator" games that were popular a few years ago. I swear I would probably play hours of this if there were hours of this to play, people would pay for this, not even kidding.

The gameplay is silly, but consistent. It makes you think! The music and sounds are phenomenal, the graphics are functional but charming, this game has it all.

Edit: Ok actually there are some things that could be better: - The camera gets too close to you when it's close to a wall, it gets very twitchy inside the elevator. It's better suited for outdoor levels. - In the city level it's very easy to be launched inside a building by a car.

nolife-m 2020-10-09 14:51

LOL man this game is stupid, I like stupid game.

larryseinfeld 2020-10-09 22:07

@fupi Wow! Such praise! Haha, glad you liked it! Thanks for the critiques too. The camera could use a little work I agree, I suppose there are some areas that are a little tight for the camera to handle and yeah the physics aren't perfect, we ran into the same issue right before uploading, so with some more time we would have loved to have looked into it. Thanks again for the comments!

@nolife-m Lol! Yup! Full stupid, just like us! I'm glad that's your cup of tea!

pedrocoden 2020-10-09 23:47

Awesome game haha

crazybot 2020-10-10 10:16

most of this game I felt like I was in a fever dream..

If you like physics based games this is a must play ld game in my opinion. I really liked it and played it all the way through altough I felt like the slippery stairs were way too hard!

I also sometimes got stuck on buildings when I got hit by a car (luckily this only happened 2 times)

and finally as other people have said, the camera goes through a lot of walls :)

kszaku 2020-10-10 11:32

"His name is Frederiiick and he’s got a big, thick.... Body"

They had us in the first half, not gonna lie. Overall, super cool and creative concept!

zachary-granger 2020-10-11 06:03

@pedrocoden Thank you for the compliment!

@crazybot Perfect - it felt like a fever dream making it too. I'm glad you had fun playing it and thanks for the feedback! Sorry about the stairs :) I'll hold back next time

@kszaku Thank you so much! Hopefully you got a good laugh out of it.

bassguitarbill 2020-10-11 10:36

This reminded me of Katamari Damacy in a good way. Never have I thought I'd play a body-horror game this funny. Well done!

fraanns 2020-10-11 10:41

This game is soooooooooooo funny. It just puts a smile on my face :)

joror 2020-10-11 11:43

I can only appreciate the minds that came up with this world. It was fun, the physics were wonk, the music was silly, the game was longer than expected, but I kept playing~ Also screw that work dude. We did our best. It was hard pushing that pc button.

Great job, would roll again.

amin-jk000 2020-10-11 11:53

lol the best soundtracks, story and design. I really liked the game great job guys :v:

zachary-granger 2020-10-11 18:17

@bassguitarbill Yess Katamari is awesome, that's a great compliment! Thanks for playing!

@fraanns I love to hear that - it's the best we could hope for :)

@joror Thanks for all the compliments, I'm super happy you had a good time with it.

@amin-jk000 You're too nice - thank you so much for playing!!

rvenson 2020-10-13 04:26

I love it hahaha Maybe some kind of minimap could help locate the objectives easy on city. Nice game, guys!

larryseinfeld 2020-10-13 17:36

@rvenson Hey, thanks for playing our game! Glad you enjoyed it! I agree, a minimap or some tooltips and better arrow system on where to go would have been greatly beneficial. Thanks for putting up with what we had though, haha

ashashza 2020-10-17 20:07

This is such a gem.

That music track, the level design, the character and the sheer loopyness of it all.

One gripe, I tried so much stuff to advance the first bit of dialogue in the intro (click, space, enter, WASD, E) ... luckily I saw it was F on the itch page. I wish there was an onscreen instruction for that ... otherwise I may have given up and missed the glory of Frederick's journey.

I'm so glad this exists!

larryseinfeld 2020-10-23 14:16

@ashashza Haha, thanks for the feedback! I'm so happy you enjoyed it so much. We actually did have a prompt on screen initially, but it was making the text display funny on some computers, so we got rid of it. But I agree, that would be a great quality of life improvement. Thanks!
