Wow, birdie is so cute! Good dynamics, funny soundtrack, especially liked the rebirth background

I like the early 2000's aesthetic. The soundtrack was good but the distorted bass was a little grating. Nice entry :)

Hahaha I love the sound effects you did with your voice! This game surprised me, I love the different mechanics each iteration of the character uses, and how they're used to explore the environment differently - lovely game.

Honestly one of my favourite games of the entire jam! I love the DK style graphics, repetition of level but each time you can do something different and the sound effects. Great job!

Haha, level transitions were trippy! I liked the sound effects made by mouth. Also the graphics style brought back some nostalgia, I liked it. The controls felt a little jerky, but were responsive which is the most important thing. The mechanics of the different characters were different enough to keep the same levels interesting. I encountered a few minor bugs like boxes catching on things, but nothing game breaking because I was able to just move and push them again. Also I think the game might 'feel' a bit better if some of the hitboxes were adjusted, like make spike hitbox smaller. I enjoyed it and completed it - Right on!

I really love the visual aesthetic of this game! Really weird but definitely unique in several ways. There were some minor issues with colliders catching on other colliders but nothing broke which is good! How did you get the visuals to look like that in Unity, just curious what you used to create it as I really do love it.

That was a cool little experience, thanks very much :)

Neat little platformer, good level design as well. Controls were a little bit fiddly at times but not too bad. At first I thought it was a very simple entry, but was then delighted to see that there was more to it! cool, novel idea.

Also love the style of the whole thing, the sounds and claymation-ey graphics have loads of charm!

Fun game! Really liked doing the same levels but with different mechanics each time. I had quite a few movement glitches (mainly on the last time through) that caused me to get stuck (just couldn't move in the direction I needed) and I had to move back and forth or jump to un-stick myself.

Is there any reward for getting all the cogs? I tried it again to see if I could get them all but must have missed one somewhere.

That was a nice and surprising take on the theme! I enjoyed the music, the sound effects and the cute graphics & animations. The collision detection was a bit funny. I really enjoyed my moment of 'Aha! That's what these crates are for!'. I was a bit confused at first whether I needed all the golden wheels, but apparently not. The score in the end is a nice way to encourage the player to play again and find all the wheels. I played again and I really thought I found all of them, one in each level, but somehow I got only 8 of 9.

Overall, well done!

The last wheel also didn't show for me, though I'm pretty sure I collected all of them on my second playthrough (the monkey wall one was by far the trickiest, but also the most rewarding one). The game is pretty robust, so all the issues are pretty minor - sometimes the monkey would wall grab even where there's apparently nothing he should grab at, it did it on the column in the background (darker part of actual platform) and also to the tree in the background near the wall wheel while facing the wheel. Also the wall jump was a bit fiddly to my liking, as you had to press the opositte directional key with a split second timing, but that might've been intentional. Even the monkey controls were pretty consistent though, so there was no cheap deaths, just getting to know my character. The human jump felt a bit off, bit floaty or something, but still was consistent.

Using the same levels for multiple different characters is an awesome idea that deserves to be explored further and more often! The game wasn't much difficult, but the wheel challenge was nice, the last human wheel was pretty interesting and way to reach it was pretty unexpected!

I'm not sure if the lo-fi cutscene matches well with the levels artstyle, but both were really interesting artstyles. Also kudos for the characters and animations, that must've taken a lot of work in such a small amount of time!

Overall very solid game, plays nicely, works well, very good job!

Very cool game :D

I really like the cutscenes and all the audio for the various characters!

ruthiepee 2020-10-22 16:01

The aesthetic is so, so cool. I really adore the cutscenes, the graininess and ethereal music really do sound transportive. I was pleasantly surprised by the breadth of the game, switching between three characters with different abilities (even if I only got a couple of the wheels). The sound effects are definitely weird but didn't feel out of place. Overall I think this is one of the most memorable games I've seen.
