Super cute game! I love the idea of a game being set within a hamsters nightmares!
I got 20 points, I'm not the best, but damn I'm still good
Great atmosphere, great to see such a refined custom engine in a jam game!
This game looks and sounds great!! Love the minimalist HUD and the setting and background!
Great puzzles, and a great setting of world and character, can't wait to see what Rad Boar Rewind gets up to next!
I think the controls are actually pretty useable, I think it's more so a case of how to explain it to the player, other than that, incredible jam entry, super unique concept, beautiful art, and even though it has a single line of dialogue, it's one of the funniest I've seen all jam!
Great job at setting the scene of a scary space death, won't be hopping on any spaceships anytime soon!
The art looks incredible, can't believe this is a compo entry!
Looks great, focusing on looping through a single great looking dungeon room was a great way to find creativity, especially theme-relevant creativity, with the restrictions you have. Also have to give massive props to people who give the extra time to add sound to their game, it adds a whole level of game feel that's easy to forget about when you have developer tunnel vision. As for the bugs and general jank, I wouldn't say it stood out to me more than any other game jam, or any other full fledged indie project to be honest, so I think you're a little hard on yourself there, but a good amount of self-awareness and reflection does go a long way. Props to you and your cousin on your first collaboration together, I hope you continue to work with each other :)
Incredible interpretation of the theme, having two differing and perfectly countering styles of gameplay is awesome for both pacing and story. The game also looks, plays, and sounds incredible! Great Job :D
Really nice sound design, kept me entertained and calm the whole time I was solving the puzzles, great job!!
Very polished infini-runner gameplay, and a fun history lesson at the same time! I really enjoyed using the year as your score, could definitely see this being my favourite game on the school computers back in the day. One thing I noticed is that once you reach the year 0, the positive pickups are only giving you a small amount of progress, whilst a single rat will send you back to ~4000 BC, and the constant swapping between graphically styles and player sprites can be a little jarring, either way, very fun game, nice voice over, and very impressive given the time constraints. :)
Lots of potential for more complex puzzles given more time, great Jam entry!
One of, if not the best looking game I've seen on this jam, so incredible to see what teams can do in such a short amount of time
As someone else who interpreted the theme with clones of your past runs, I love this game, I already liked it when I thought it was just the ghosts following your movements, then when I realised that if you outlive them, they turn into turrets, a whole new level of tactics was available to me. The only thing I could recommend is taking some time to find good SFX to use, as they add game feel like nothing else, and I think it could especially heighten the sense of catharsis this game is so beautifully portraying! Would love to take about programming clones like this, and see how our methods differ!
Beautiful looking game, I'm in awe of the graphical detail you went to, things like the flashlight bouncing with the recoil, and the eerie way that colour works its magic in near pitch darkness. Also incredible having such a cinematic intro in a jam entry, good job everyone who worked on this game!
A great piece of interactive fiction, and a very unique way to deliver your story, especially using so many AI generated assets, the world and "event" you built had a very eerie nature to it, made the more eerie by the slightly less than human look of the faces, and their slightly robotic voices, you gave me enough to get me hooked, but just enough so that I left with a delighted intrigue. Great job!!
Super nice look to this game, and a very clever choice of theme interpretation, good job :)
Awesome visual theme, and very fun and interesting level design! Good job
Couldn't really figure out when the game properly started, but I guess that's a testament to how in-theme it is, so congrats on what must have been a headache to program, I commend you!! Also the background music is incredibly relaxing with the typing and clicking background.
Super cool gameplay loop (pun intended I guess hahah) given more time to work on it, I think slowly introducing certain types of breaks to the player in the first minute or so of gameplay could do wonders in helping players keep their head above water, as it can be a tad overwhelming being dropped in with everything happening at once. Other than that, plays incredibly, looks clean and aesthetically pleasing, and doesn't ignore sound, which is something that tends to fall down the priority list during Jam Games. Good Job!! :)
This game is a masterclass in game feel, to be able to refine a jam project to be so aesthetically pleasing is a great accomplishment, good job :D
Love the in-depth simulation of travelling in space, definitely going to continue observing space safely from the ground!
Amazing to see an interesting new rhythm game in this day and age, even more amazing to know it was made for a jam! Massive props, I love seeing low colour dithering pixel art used to simulate vector graphics, an awesome, unique look :)
Extremely polished aesthetic, already well refined loop I would love to see realised into a full, even more polished product!
Super impressive being able to program such in depth interaction between the clones, I especially enjoy being able to cap myself in the back of the head hahah, only thing I could potentially suggest is making a little more clear when and how the player can progress to the next level, otherwise, incredible job :)
I could very easily get addicted to this! Don't you tempt me! I'll do it!
Other than a few bugs on the occasional run, this game is super fun and refined, and the art and sound design helps package it all into a very entertaining time!
Looks and sounds very fun and happy, only thing I can suggest is making it a little clearer to the player that they can double jump, took a few deaths before I realised I could
Good to see a puzzle game with open solutions!
Super impressive making such streamlined squad-based mechanics for a jam entry, great job!
Looks great, I like the way you've used coloured and varied lighting to enhance the looks of what could end up being very repetitive areas, due to the looping mechanics, the robotic voice that taunts/talks to you throughout is great for atmosphere as well!
Great use of a minimalist style, really helps sell the "last bastion of humanity" thing, great job!
Everything about this game is super cute, even down to not being able to neglect any of the cute robots and leave them on the same square for too long. Also the 3 colour clone mechanic is very similar to my entry, and it's super cool to see we interpreted the theme in similar ways, good job!!
Great Concept, A really good way of using artistic and story-telling ability to turn something like the game simon into a funny, wholesome, and engaging story!!
Cute graphics, and great idea. Only thing I would suggest is making the game over screen not wait as long before going back to the menu, it takes a few deaths to get the hang of the controls, but other than that, awesome entry!
Good to see someone still rocking AGS! fun and colourful game, and a very literal take on the theme, I like it :)
Loved it, glad to see such big teams working during a jam :)
Thanks heaps :) definitely would work on fleshing out a better "show, don't tell" kind of tutorial, had I the time
@adam-jewell Thank you so much!! I made sure to pay attention to the tutorial, since I knew it was a bit of a complicated concept, I'm so glad you managed to grasp it, and as a programmer primarily, I'm glad to know some creative choices aesthetically can help make up for not so perfect technical art skills. Thank you so much for your comment :)
@eevitt Thanks, it was all for your approval.
@shan.hsgames Yeah, the tutorial could definitely use better pacing and refining, but I'm glad you picked it up in the end :)
@wormius Glad you enjoyed it!
@feesh yeah a full build would definitely benefit from some control refinement, glad you thought it was cool!
@lectvs glad the hoop knight dev himself likes my game
@cad Thanks heaps :) Definitely feel like this is my most solid project mechanically!
@borisfrommurmansk Thanks! I always think the music is one of the best things to portray tone, I hope I got the puzzles got your brain cogs turning!
@meowmeowlitclub Thank you so much, I think expanding on this is definitely going to be my next project!
@vphyre Thanks!! I'm really happy with how well this jam entry stuck to the theme, I think it's some of my best work yet
@kevin-mooney thanks! A full version would definitely benefit from an extended tutorial
@kaganobik Glad you enjoyed! This is my first puzzle game, so I'm happy it worked out as well as it did.
@etrealjunior Thanks! I will definitely be checking out your game!
@andidebob Thank you! I think the difficulty curve was really the thing that allowed players to understand the mechanics without being bogged down with exposition :)
@shyrro Thanks! I always think music really helps set the mood, I'm glad you liked it!
@ellladee Thank you so much
@alarianngames I'm glad I could make a puzzle game to your liking!! Thank you for the feedback
@exopunk Thanks! Making the save/reset feature a little more clear to the player is the biggest think I would change given more time, as I see it as the unique selling point of the ghost-type puzzlers I've seen.
@duke Thanks for the feedback! I'm definitely a programmer primarily, so a 3 day art deadline is gonna be rough
@tricky-fat-cat Thank you for playing!!
@etrealjunior Thank you! I've always loved top down games, so I'm glad I could use it to do puzzle games justice
@oillen Thanks! Will definitely be receiving many layers of polish if it turns into a long-term project!
@arad-hamidsamiee Thanks! The atmospheric story telling was something I really focused on, even with the time constraint :)
@samdemaine Thank you, will definitely check out your game!!
@grizzliusmaximus Thanks! making the save/reset system more defined and understood is definitely priority number one if chroma clones becomes a full time project!
@sollu Thanks! Glad you liked it :)
@budaniel Thanks! This is my first puzzle game, and I'm glad I managed to make some good puzzles!
@piscythe Thanks for the feedback! I definitely had a bunch of ideas for how to make better puzzles, but didn't want to fall into the trap of "would be nices", believe me, if a full version gets made, there will be plenty more better puzzles to go around!
@andre-sadie Thanks! I tried to implement timing with the shootable switches, as well as certain aspects of level design, but felt the need to not be too hard on the players in asking them to time things exactly right, a full release would include a much shallow difficulty curve that would reach a higher peak, thanks for the feedback!!!
Thank you for such detailed feedback! I will be sure to check out your game!
Thanks for the feedback, glad you managed to finish the game!!
@cursedembassy Thanks! Glad you had fun :)
Loved the look of this game, it worked well with the music to create a great atmosphere, good job!
The hand drawn style looks really nice! Great Jam entry!!
Incredible art style, can't believe this is a compo game! Only thing I would suggest, is making the cyan trigger be bigger than just the edge of the wheel, as when the people or the puff of smoke get in the way, it's really easy to miss your next click, which can be a tad jarring to the flow, other than that, a very well execute product. Good Job!
Always good to see a rhythm game that doesn't skimp on graphics, this game looks, sounds, and feels incredible, and leaves me wanted to experiment with drum patterns to unlock optimal strats. :)
Super pretty game, and I'm obviously a big fan of ghost loops hahah
Great aesthetic choice, and a very unique combat mechanic!
Super cute art style! I also love the idea of setting an infini-runner around a single constant loop, super unique!!
Super cute graphics, and a relaxing loop that suits the theme of working an eternal job. Great first jam game!
