I like the interpretation of the theme. The goblins are overpowered! Do the AI humans block spears? I couldn't really tell.

I like the interpretation of the theme. The goblins are overpowered! Do the AI humans block spears? I couldn't really tell.
Really cool art style and animations. Needs some UI tho. Health bar etc. And there maybe can be a notification or alert before the spears come.
Fun game. GJ.
@verso there is a chance for the human AI to block. Both races have melee attacks, and one special ability: block (humans) and spear throw (goblins). Thanks for trying it out.
Really nice graphics and good use of the theme. I was hoping I could break the cycle somehow, but I never could. An allegory for real life? ;-)
@verso Glad you liked it. They are OP, we tried balancing it by doubling the human player life, but maybe it's too easy now. The AI humans do block, but randomly, and when they are close only. It would be easy to make them block on throw, but we didn't have enough time in the weekend.
@cinar I agree! I think the health bar would be important. And there is a sound alert at least, try to get close to a goblin, but not too close, and you will hear it. A visual notification would be even better though. And thanks!
@sanojian Thanks! You can't! We thought that a infinite loop would fit better with LD theme and our game theme.
Love the take on the theme - and yes like @sanojian I wish there were a way to break the cycle but we know better. Nice work.
Great use of the theme! I totally didn't expect that. Awesome graphics and I loved the cutscene animations. So cool.
Really good use of the theme here! I chuckled when I reached the end as a the human as it showed the exact scene that happened to the human. It was unexpected. An endless cycle of violence.
There's no little tutorial in the game. Little images can be added on the game itself as it scrolls.
And the color of the sword is the same with the tiles of the houses. When you stand in front of it, it looks like you're just holding a hilt
Incredible interpretation of the theme, having two differing and perfectly countering styles of gameplay is awesome for both pacing and story. The game also looks, plays, and sounds incredible! Great Job :D
Vi seu jogo no Jamtastic e vim testar!
I liked how the theme was treated here, very good idea and execution. Although the gameplay was simple and straightforward, it was engaging and smooth. The graphics were well made and very cute aswell.
Very good interpretation of the theme! I tried breaking out of the cycle by backing up and dying but sadly the violence is unescapable. Or is it?
The graphics and animations are really nice!
Animations and graphics are on point! Keep up the good work!
Your game reminded me of our previous project. Loved those pixel graphics. Game is nice, HP bar would be nice next time)
I like the aesthetics of the town. It's cool to have a piece of story at the beginning, it's more engaging!
Really unique interpretation, I loved the themeing! I found it kind of hard to strategically fight, it was mostly blocking when far away, then spamming attack close up as a human, and spamming spears far away then attacks close up as a goblin. I also would like a health bar, after not dying using this strategy I wondered if I could die at all.
I like the take on the theme! The art style is really cute and I had fun playing the game! It was particularly interesting that I couldn't see the goblin before he threw a spear at me, so I had to use the audio cue to time my guard. Good job!
Like the opening scene and sound effects a lot.
I love the idea ! One of the best interpretation of the theme IMO. And the graphics are great.
But is it really over ? I loved the twist, the loop of vengeance - truly a great concept!
Gameplay is basic but it works fine. It felt a bit bad that the goblins are throwing spears at you from beyond the screen and you have no block (or dodge) ability - so basically you can do nothing but "stand there" and take the damage. But after a while I figured out that what you call "secondary attack" in keybindings is really a block ability (on humans) and not an attack at all. That felt better!
Some HP bar would be nice. A some point I figured I must be immortal (taken so many spears to the chest and still walking) - so I figured I will check and just let the goblin hit me until I died. I wasn't immortal! But, anyway, HP bar would alleviate such doubts.
Art and animations are pleasant. The music loop, even though fitting, is very short and get very repetitive very fast. I just muted it
It's a nice jam game overall and once again - awesome take on the theme! Congrats.
Really nice interpretation of the theme! And absolutely lovely cutscenes! A health bar would have been nice though, but maybe that's just me being overly traditional with UI. :)
Very interesting interpretation of the theme. The animations are dope! I also like the way the sounds telegraph the spear without even seeing it. I think some gameplay variation could make it more enganging, but it's a good execution of the idea anyway. Nice work!
I like the interpretation of the game! I will definitely replay it once again later! Well done and keep up the good work!
Simple but interesting take on the theme, and a nice effective art style. Nice!
The animation at the beginning was a bit rough - maybe my browser was having issues at the moment? It was difficult to tell what was happening though, and I didn't realize it was a cutscene at first. But the game was fun! The block was really nice once I learned to use it, and the 'story' was great.
Really cool idea I love playing as both sides ! maybe UI could be improved? but otherwise the rest of it feels cool ! Although the combat could be a lot less ambiguous or that player can attack in both sides. Nonetheless, good job :)
Beautiful art. It would be really cool if you could break the cycle somehow - maybe by not killing? Could give some nice morals to the story. Fun game nonetheless, good job!
Cool game. I loved the graphics. :)
Good entry! Liked the story and art, keep on making games :)
This is a really clever idea, I loved it. And the art is on point. Well done!
@etrealjunior Cara, sim, muito bom ver a galera BR. Obrigado pelas sugestões, queríamos fazer mais, mas não deu tempo (e tivemos que entregar um dia antes porque na segunda a gente trabalhava). Valeu pelo feedback.
I really like this game! The art and sound are really nice. Definitely an interesting take on the theme, and one I enjoy quite a bit. I got hit a few times when I felt like I had blocked the attack, but maybe I did mistime it slightly, who knows. Other than that, it was a really solid little game.
Quite interesting idea for the stuck in a loop theme, must confess that I gave a big laugh once I've realized  the monsters are def OP, and I've looped more than two times and couldn't figure out the end of it unlesse killing one of the players. PS: thank you so much for playing my game! Beating the puzzles in 5 minutes was such a good time!
