I find it hard to understand what to do.. First time managed to get birds to back off a lit, refill torch, have a tiny bit of chat. But I didn't get it. I gave it a second try now (a few hours later), and I don't understand what's going on. I like mysteries and finding out what to do by myself, but heh this time I don't know. Maybe a bit of hint will help ? (Will come back for more !)
The art style and the music is great, but unfortunately I don't understand what is going on.

Interesting game. I really loved the art style and it made me want to explore and learn more about the cryptic world these guys live in. I enjoyed the small touches like how they blow bubbles when they are not working.
One criticism I have is that I don't think you should allow the player to run into the black void at the edges of the screen unless you can find something there. The other boy with a torch kept running into the darkness so I did the same, but I never discovered anything. Maybe add a sound effect when you tell someone to go back to work to make it more obvious. Also on the web version on itch.io I believe the frame was cropped (your screenshot showed more of the world).
Overall I really liked the mood and feeling of the world. The art, music, and cryptic statues made me want to know more about the world.

@meowmeowlitclub Thanks to you :) So I did try your bugfixed version and it's a bit clearer to understand what's going on. While the crow sound is still too much the game makes more sense now ! Also keeping player from going too far for nothing helps a lot to focus ! Good job to you two for making this small world in such a few hours !
I finished this, but I'm not sure if it's correct to call it a game. You get no gameplay, no story, it's just a way to deliver an idea. Also, the mining sound is way too loud. I like the thought it is delivering and I think it fits the theme, it just takes way too long to get there.

As for the main gameplay, you could press E to talk with the people, press Space to force the workers continue and drive the birds leave from the workers. All I mentioned is aiming to make the big wheel loop. Indeed, it's our first try so there are still many shortcomings.We will adopt your advice and make it better!Again, Thank you so much!

Pretty neat! Loved the idea. Poor workers never got a chance to rest aha! It's easy to play, not too long so it does not get boring, the graphics are lovely and the music and sound effects add a really nice touch to everything, Very well done, I enjoyed playing it!

I really enjoyed playing this game. It was quite relaxing with the music and beautiful pixel art. The overall theme that everyone has a small part to play is one that I think is explored really well.
I can see what you're going for here, and the retro pixel graphics are nice. I can see this being potentially interesting if you were to improve on it post-jam.

The art was amazing. Also the controls felt very fluid. I managed to find out what to do eventually by reading a bit in the comments. I first did not see the big altar circle progressing in the back. Great game idea. Would love to see this with more content.
Hey, I really enjoyed the mood on this one. The graphics and the "story/world" fits very well together, and the mechanics are flawless. I would really enjoy to learn more thing about the world, it feels like a demo of what could be a cool atmospheric game.
The only thing I would criticize is the sound design. Birds and mining sound are too present, and I think a more ambient soundscape would be better with the world you've created. Good job!

A bit weird art, but in general everything is not bad, I'm not saying that the art is bad, it's just strange, in general everything is beautiful and good!
Great FX, a bit boring gameplay because of an unclear goal.
The graphics and music are very nice but the gameplay lacks something and gets a little boring after a while. Very nice and simple game.
It's a very interesting, moody experience. The presentation is very charming, especially the sound design. The gameplay is quite strange but in a way it fits the theme. I wish there were more interaction with the NPC. But overall, good job!

Beautiful game. The gameplay was really tedious and unsatisfying, but I think maybe that was the point? I really wanted to get rid of those birds somehow.

Quite unique gameplay. Mood is there, if you added more story that could be enjoyable as a small game.
