LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Which Witch is Which? by MKnooihuisen 2020-10-10T17:50:13Z

That seems like a pretty unique gameplay idea to me, I don't see that often. And nicely implemented, the only concern I have is that it's often enough to hide somewhere and wait until the previous version passes the maze. This was smartly addressed by level design, but still sometimes pops up.

Endless Hallways by Pheonise 2020-10-10T14:38:34Z

Great job! Flawless teleports and very impressive postprocess. Despite the small size of the game, it leaves very positive impression. Would like to see this idea elaborated further.

C - O - I - I - L by Ace17 2020-10-10T12:13:07Z

Spooky. My thalassophobia isn't feeling great. It's awesome that you did it with just SDL and OpenGL.

Confined by Flaterectomy 2020-10-10T18:02:39Z

Great narrative and nice implementation. Transitions between systems are a bit long though, it quicky becomes boring to wait 4 seconds every time.

Dear John by givit-game-studios 2020-10-09T21:53:34Z

Cool visuals and narrative, but this lonely room amidst nothing with one man floating inside gives a gloomy impression.

Magical Girl Storms The Castle by dracominer 2020-10-08T21:21:03Z

Cool gameplay idea and unforgettable graphics.

ronron Therapy by Redunca 2020-10-10T12:36:41Z

Great art and idea, but I don't understand how to play it and backspace is broken.

Bizzare Adventures of an Ordinary Dude by Oddmes 2020-10-08T21:23:16Z

Jooooooooooooooooooojo!

Caterpiloop by Marcus Otterstrom 2020-10-08T13:44:40Z

Totally awesome, in every aspect.

Lasso'em up! by honey 2020-10-09T21:18:26Z

I like the artstyle and the whole idea but the controls made it barely playable to me and I didn't quite catch how I am supposed to drag the cows, it just detaches when I move away from them.

Creed by dimlight 2020-10-08T13:40:11Z

Love the art, especially the first picture.

Monke Rehabilitation Center by SpacialSeasoning 2020-10-10T12:51:00Z

It's totally awesome, but you do need antialiasing because text looks awful, and also I stuck in one place with walls appearing around me when I tried to move. Dunno if it's planned, but it was quite frustrating.

Detachment Undone by Gossian 2020-10-06T19:32:59Z

Didn't understand the gameplay tbh, but music is very relaxing.

JACKASTER by DS Nahogara 2020-10-08T21:00:42Z

Brilliant. Love the mix of 2 and 3D.

Stranded by Robonaut121 2020-10-10T15:45:06Z

I believe that usual lighting does not go well with pixel-art and if it was done pixel-wise(I mean the size of the pixel used in the game art) it would look better. Also, it's too hardcore, but I can't say I don't like. Some guidance or a way to isolate oneself from aliens would be welcome.

Delivery Boy Forever by civmaniac 2020-10-08T13:52:44Z

Death Stranding is awesome.

To be serious, cool innovative idea with hidden words in the text.

TIME TO DANCE! by Savvy Community 2020-10-09T22:03:22Z

Must be the best one, especially regarding fun, that I've seen.

Fleder Flopin by Diefleder 2020-10-10T12:32:30Z

That's extremely fun and good-looking! But I got stuck in one place Безымянный.png

CoronaLOOP by betovf 2020-10-08T18:57:58Z

Very cool, but the controls and camera should be improved to provide pleasant player experience.

Co-Routine by MatchaFlavor 2020-10-08T21:17:34Z

This is just lovely, art, music and gameplay altogether.

Mage Game by droo shayne 2020-10-09T21:11:40Z

Magnificent gameplay, art and sound. But controls might be more responsive for a platformer, I mean a jump could be adjusted to match the level desgin and so on. But for a jam -- great.

The Legend of the Stormer by josephdevelops 2020-10-08T21:04:50Z

The animation of the main character is great and the atmosphere is amazing. However, the progression of the game plot is not very clear and thus fails to be captivating.

Press The Button by Steventus 2020-10-08T21:37:55Z

Great, atmospheric art and cool narrative.

Stop Motion by Cafe Ducha Siesta 2020-10-06T19:08:37Z

Reaaaaaaaaaaly long intro. Aaand I failed to catch the car with the fluid, which left me unsure if it's possible to catch it at all. But it's still fun and bright.

Complete the Circuit by Noah Rousell 2020-10-06T19:27:55Z

Very pleasant graphics. Quite poor gameplay though.

Link the Fire by MeowMeowLitClub 2020-10-08T13:48:15Z

Great FX, a bit boring gameplay because of an unclear goal.

Stuck In a Loop by jjoosef17 2020-10-08T18:53:45Z

Controls should be elaborated on and one-pixel wide feet are scaring but. But it's still quite fun play, no doubts.

Escaping the Void. by Oulsen 2020-10-08T18:49:19Z

Quicky got lost without any idea how to proceed. Seems more like a level design flaw. Overall it's quite enjoyable.

Stuck in the Luntic by Harrm 2020-10-10T20:14:47Z

@honey @michael-horst thanks a lot for such detailed feedback!

@honey Yes, you are completely right, we planned to add distinguished features to help players navigate, but unfortunately we didn't make it in time, we had only 2 days. Some of the character's quotes actually were meant to give a hint when it teleportes (like 'I feel weird'), but this was done it great haste so apparently didn't work out well. Thanks for advice with different ground and torches, btw, I didn't think of it but now I understand that it would be a great thing to add.

@michael-horst totally agree about the sound, it totally slipped our mind during the jam, but after the deadline I saw how much the sound would add to the atmosphere. Gonna need an SFX designer for the next jam. Also, I suspect you didn't now that you could move faster with Shift key, which is totally my fault as I didn't add a short tutorial on controls to the game. And escape key, oh, I will write that down and put in a frame till the next jam, forget about these things every time.

Stuck in the Luntic by Harrm 2020-10-11T19:48:52Z

@robonaut121 the labyrinth is indeed looped, but also there is a much deeper expression of this idea in the ending, which unfortunately wasn't discovered by anyone because of major flaws in game design caused by a short amount of time we could dedicate to the development of the game.
