LD45 — Start with nothing

Zilch by commanderstitch 2019-10-15T17:43:39Z

Level 4 omg what was that! That was the most fun.

Logically speaking, it was a little hard to follow and at first I couldn't understand why the wolves were dying when they touched me and then suddenly my health was in the thousands and then I was managing to pick up buildings and lampposts and have them spin above my head and everything was crazy, but I guess that was the point, so it was pretty fun.

The sound was great and the graphics too - the fox was adorable and the wolves were very funny. Great work!

Spooky Isekai by ahistyap 2019-10-16T17:33:59Z

Graphics were beautiful! Everything else was a little off.. Like in the first scene, turning from left to right was so sudden and jerky that it felt like changing to a new scene. It was better in the second scene, I guess because it was possible to see more of the surrounding area. Also, I think the layout could have been improved - it was hard to navigate the platforms and it was not always clear where to go. But I liked the idea, I think it has potential!

Better than nothing by Fictions 2019-10-17T11:39:45Z

Really great concept really well executed! The graphics were great too and the animations had a satisfying feel to them. One thing that I felt was missing though was some sort of goal to work towards. As it stands, all you can really do is avoid enemies, but it would be nice if there was something to do while avoiding them. Even being able to attack them would make the player's role a bit more active. Otherwise, great start!

Cuber by BankSho 2019-10-15T18:40:23Z

Music and sound effects were great and the graphics were good too, although things like the door and the grey of the cubes didn't completely go with the rest.

The controls were a bit tricky and the jump didn't always work so it was hard to get far in the game. Also, I found it strange that the player cube had to jump over the gaps but the enemies would glide right over them - seems a little unfair if you ask me ;) But overall this was great for your first jam, so well done!

Naked Guy by kaeveris 2019-10-15T17:58:35Z

Graphics were beautiful. The melody of the audio was nice, but it was so high that my ears hurt a little. Gameplay itself was simple but nice enough - some of the jumps were a little airy, like others have mentioned, and it was strange to press w to jump instead of space, but other than that the controls felt fine. I was able to wander off-screen a few times though.

Fun concept though! I'm intrigued by this workplace that has a sauna but also so many crates just lying around :D

The Island by Benjamin Leroy 2019-10-15T18:17:09Z

I really liked that every NPC had something to say and the music set the tone of the game nicely. However, the controls were difficult to get used to and led to imprecise movement. The graphics and models were nice though and I liked that you could go inside some of the houses, although everything looked a bit too small and far away.

Desert by Pedroso 2019-10-16T17:22:04Z

The music, visuals and pace of the main character's movement set the tone perfectly. The idea behind the story was nice, but I think it would have made more sense if the text started appearing sooner in the experience. Also, as much as I liked the graphics, there seemed to be some stylistic inconsistencies, like the dots on the main character and the texture on the pillars didn't quite fit with the rest of the scene. Otherwise, excellent job! I could listen to the soundtrack all day.

Caveboy by DaniSaur 2019-10-20T13:51:36Z

The controls were a bit slippery - a little more friction would have helped and the jumps were huge. Also at one point, just after collecting the 'move left' ability, the character fell off the screen and I had to tab out to close the game. But I liked the graphics and the interpretation of the theme. Great start for your first LD!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Overstock! by Random-storykeeper 2020-05-01T19:11:59Z

This was a little bit confusing at first - I couldn't see the cleaning products because they they were basically camouflaged among the shelves and for some reason I thought I had to lure the monster to the dirty areas with the cleaning products.. Once I understood that, it became a fun challenge! The music and sound effects really suited the game, as did the graphics and splash screens, which I found to be quite charming.

Vegetation Station by Jajo 2020-04-22T15:52:24Z

Great sound and animation. It did feel a bit strange shooting with the spacebar and jumping with the up arrow - might have been better to use the mouse for shooting. Also the shooting distance felt a little too short. But overall there's potential and the game had a nice feel to it.

Cytokine Storm by Gurbx 2020-04-30T13:31:05Z

This was great! I loved the strategic element to it once I figured out what to do. The graphics were great too, although after a while I did start to feel a bit sea-sick with all the elements moving as much as they did. Also, being able to drag the commands onto the leukocytes gave the impression that only one would be affected, but all of them were - not sure if this was a bug or a design miscommunication.

The Last Meal of Winnifred by Rusty Jim 2020-05-02T10:46:36Z

This was a lot of fun. The music was perfect, the instructions for each screen were subtle yet informative, and the graphics were strange and charming. Those physics though! They made things considerably harder but also a lot more fun when random crates or even Winnifred would just fly off into the air for apparently no reason. Good job!

Clumsy Looter by Naghen 2020-04-22T16:10:31Z

I loved the humour in this, odd but charming! The battles were cool once I realised which healthbar was mine and which was the monster's, but I think it would have been nice to have a way to regain health outside of battle. Also, I would suggest adding some movement to the monsters - once I realised they wouldn't actually attack us, I just let Chris go looting and eventually won the game without any more battles...

cyberpunk_200s.sys by Epicload 2020-05-03T15:42:47Z

Great graphics and the audio fit really well. Gameplay was really fun as well after I got the hang of things. One thing I would say though is that maybe the player movement was a little too sensitive and hard to control.

Radiohead by Sausty 2020-04-22T15:59:13Z

This was fun! It had a real sense of urgency that kept my attention and the music was great too, especially for the main menu. Having all the mini-games was pretty ambitious for a first game jam, but you pulled it off!

Chasing Shadows by Andrzej Gieralt 2020-04-30T13:37:29Z

I loved that you had voice acting in this - along with the rest of the sound design it made for a great atmosphere. Visuals were great too and I liked the feature of the carpet.

Party Animal by puntocom 2020-05-02T10:37:03Z

Great concept, terrible party guests. Things got out of hand pretty quickly, which I think made for a great fast-paced game. However the main thing that let you down was the movement - it felt quite heavy and I would have preferred something a lot sharper and more responsive that made it feel like I was in full control of at least one thing in this madhouse.

DANGER KAT by Fahad Aameer 2020-05-01T18:59:15Z

I think you might have forgotten to make your game page visible to the public on itch. The option is under Visibility & Access at the bottom of your Edit Game page.

Bro Loving: Keep the Bromance Alive by panoramix360 2020-04-23T09:03:06Z

Loved this! Excellent humour, amazing art, fun idea! Only thing I'd say is that the movement for the food was a bit too slow maybe, but really great work :)

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Sputtering around the Loop by Rialgar 2020-10-25T10:44:23Z

Once I figured out the controls, it was pretty fun to play! Goes to show that the simplest games can be the most addictive.

Test Subject by ThiefViolinist 2020-10-25T10:01:24Z

Well that was a little bit impossible! Couldn't get past the first level. I liked the voice and the writing though and the graphics were nice. For some reason I couldn't press the button at all.

Solivagant by RafaelGiordanno 2020-10-25T17:11:46Z

Not bad! At first I wasn't completely sure what to do - I think maybe the starting area was too large and empty, but I got into it quite quickly. I would say though that the movement speed felt a bit too sluggish, like the dog was wading through quicksand. Otherwise, cute and cheerful game, good job!

LaserLoop by Neon Glass 2020-10-25T11:04:26Z

I think that's the longest I've spent playing and LD game so far. Really fun and pretty challenging! Music was perfect - reminded me of Theme Hospital for some reason.

Detachment Undone by Gossian 2020-10-11T10:51:44Z

@jeroenpx Omg that was unintentional!!! Didn't even realise!! D:

But yes, mechanics and gamefeel need work for sure!

Detachment Undone by Gossian 2020-10-24T15:47:06Z

@arzi @harrm @acaral @recher @jeroenpx @inferture @cargamoni @gamebuilder @jakob-reborn @dumplingsquid @ree-rolph @jeroenpx @peterfonts

Thanks for all your comments! Some really useful insights there and also some interesting references!

I've improved the responsiveness of the click and drag functionality and now I'm getting around to refining the rest.

Also managed to opt back into graphics, so it's finally possible to vote on the graphics!

Thanks again!

Remember the Way by ilopes 2020-10-25T10:08:57Z

Had no idea what I was doing but I loved the atmosphere. Not sure I understood the logic of the traps - were you supposed to explore everything in an area before being allowed to move on? Because then that would contradict the instructions where it's not recommended to explore the environment..

Also, even though I couldn't understand it, I was actually really pleased to see a non-English game!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Treasurebot - Gem Collector by Jerm 2021-05-09T15:48:03Z

Really interesting concept and really nice way to deliver the game instructions. I just wish that collecting the jems felt a bit more satisfying considering there were so many in each level. Might have been better to start with smaller levels and then expand.

Werecop's Archives: Case of Deeper Excrement by Shigor 2021-05-12T22:24:56Z

This had me laughing! Really enjoyed the story, the writing and the voice acting. Didn't mind the linearity of the story either because it was nice to know I could just choose the madness options without it affecting things too terrible. Really good job!

Deep Forest by Japayne 2021-05-09T15:35:13Z

Took a while to work out how to progress, but it's a nice idea, although can get a bit repetitive - it would have been nice to have more to do in the environment to mix things up a little, but the core mechanic itself is quite interesting. Pixel art was really lovely and the music fit the theme really well.

Hammer Dive by Clamshell64 2021-05-09T15:24:17Z

Beautiful graphics and colour scheme and a fun, simple mechanic! At first I thought the music in the menu was glitching a little, but the rest of the audio was lovely, good job!

Quantum Warper by Kartsu 2021-05-11T10:23:50Z

Best mechanic by far! Really enjoyed it, especially when the character kept multiplying. The game felt great to play as well - great visual feedback, although would have been nice with some sound as well. Also I was surprised that there was no penalty for messing up and killing off the "false" characters, but this was a great introduction to the mechanic. Overall I could see this developed into quite a substantial game, really good job.

Darkness Awaits by CreeperHntr 2021-05-11T10:10:44Z

The game feels quite nice to play, but it was a bit too dark to see the stalactites and the enemies were maybe a bit too big yet didn't really seem to do much damage. I liked the art style though and the sound effects worked really well.

Hypermarket Dungeon by fafaaffa1 2021-05-11T10:17:23Z

I found this quite soothing with the background audio. I would say though that the controls felt a little bit too floaty and imprecise and I didn't really know what to do after I'd visited all the rooms and collected all the items.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Ten Second First Dates by Rose 2022-10-05T14:28:12Z

Loved this! Really fun. Quite hard at first but felt like I was getting better the more I played and I actually wanted to play more to get better. I also like the idea that dating is all just about pattern-matching interests haha! Only thing I would say though is that if you match with someone quite early on, you can't do anything and just need to wait for the timer to go down before moving onto the next one - would be nice if either you moved straight onto the next one or had the chance to maybe undo the match by continuing to play on that person until the timer went out.

Tempore by nidjo123 2022-10-04T16:47:13Z

Loved how chaotic it was - no time to really understand the levels before moving onto the next which kept it nice and fast-paced. Preferred the more maze-like levels rather than the one with the huge open space because it was harder to get my bearings in the larger space. Agree with the others regarding sound - started to hurt my ears after a while, but the tutorial was great and you managed to do a lot in the time with such a fun & interesting concept.

[WebGL/HTML5] Music Demon by leorid 2022-10-09T20:03:25Z

Music was great but I didn't really notice the changes all that much. Conceptually I actually think what you've got going on with the eating & weight/ability changes are the real treat of this game and I think focusing on and expanding that mechanic would make this a really compelling and challenging game.

Super Garden Lord by poboy 2022-10-05T14:42:31Z

I had no idea what I was doing. I didn't know if I was exploding things or if they were just exploding. Didn't know what a weed was, didn't know what those things running around were. Didn't know what the fish were. Which plants did I want? Which plants did I not want? Thoroughly enjoyed it, good job.

Every Ten Seconds by EOShadows 2022-10-04T17:47:53Z

Great colour scheme and strangely ominous music. Took me a while to figure out the envelopes were health things and on the embedded version the top was a cut off so I didn't see the health bar and first task until I entered fullscreen. However in fullscreen, the character speed seemed a little too slow. Overall though I liked it - nice concept, addictive gameplay and interesting tasks!

Work Hard Game Harder by NomadicRockMan 2022-10-09T20:21:23Z

That was great! Really nicely done. Liked the emails and how smooth the controls felt in the space game. I think maybe it would have been nice to get some feedback on the sums as well - wouldn't the boss notice that I hadn't filled anything in every single time he checked? And maybe the emails could change to reflect that. But it was fun, really enjoyed the concept.

Ludum Ware by PenguinMunch 2022-10-04T18:06:25Z

This was very strange but I liked it

Cold Blooded Frogicide by D34TH0FTIT4N5 2022-10-04T17:58:49Z

Would have been nice to have some feedback to know the frog was being hit, like a health bar or animation/sound something. Without it I didn't feel like anything was really happening in the game other than just trying to run away from the frogs because the shooting wasn't doing much. I liked the graphics though and it was a nice idea!

LD52 — Harvest

Call of the Harvest by Iak 2023-01-26T16:05:46Z

This was very strange, well done! I particularly liked the 2D character and how even though you'd drawn front and back sprites for her, when she turned from left to right it was a still a flat image turning - thought that was nice and quirky :)

Shadow Harvester by Ntimi 2023-01-24T22:21:51Z

Absolutely loved the tone of this game! Didn't even mind the long load time because the music was just nice to listen to in the background. Art was beautiful too of course and all really polished. Unlike a lot of the other comments I actually really liked the pace - yes it was slow but it didn't feel slow and instead seemed to keep pace with the music, even when the tank was walking. The pace made sense because it was like this huge destructive mechanical beast is on the move and it all felt like it was building up towards something. Unfortunately the game crashed as soon as I reached the boss! Still, a great entry, well done.

Manshroom Harvest by A.Bond 2023-01-26T15:57:48Z

Had no idea what to do until watching the gameplay but glad I did. The visuals and atmosphere created with the music and disturbing animations was great. I didn't like the fact that you couldn't do anything to escape the knives because there wasn't really a challenge or sense of anything to overcome except to harvest lives just to be able to survive the knives. Also I think it would have helped for the harvesting audio cue to be a little longer because I didn't even notice it on my first playthrough and it was only after watching the gameplay video that I realised there even was a separate sound effect to listen out for! But overall, I really liked the vibe and the disturbing sound effects, just wish it was a little more polished/longer/didn't crash (but it is a jam so hey!)

Gunther Needs a Friend by Lemons 2023-01-23T22:02:15Z

Really enjoyed this! Very polished for a jam game with great visuals, great audio and a really nice balance to the mechanics. The system for buying items was nice and I liked that there was a conflict of buying power-ups vs saving to buy a friend. I was worried what would happen if I hadn't collected enough parts before the levels ran out but it was nice to see that they repeated. All in all a great entry! My favourite so far.

Mad Moons by GenericPirate 2023-01-24T10:41:48Z

Really nice creepy-cosy art style and I've just got a little comment focusing on that since that was your focus too: I would say that keeping a consistent line style would help just tie all the pieces together - the characters and houses were great, but the lines on the fences were a little too sharp and they were a little too faint on the trees (but not the grass because that works well for a background element). And I think the animations were a little too bouncy for this more edgy style but well done for getting them in in jam-time! Overall though, great work, I love the characters, and good luck with the planned features!

Apple Harvest by PROJECTaroid 2023-01-18T21:00:40Z

Really nice, quite meditative and pleasant to zone out to with the music and sound design. For something that seems like it should get boring, it didn't - I think because there was enough variety and feedback with the music and the apples randomly appearing at the right time. Good job!

Hard Hat Harvest by Grif_in 2023-01-24T10:25:14Z

Took a while to figure out how it all worked and where to place everything and what to click on to make the blobbies do the right thing but it was satisfying to see it all come together. The music was also a really good choice - set a nice atmosphere to the game and made the frustrating beginning parts a lot less frustrating. Graphics were lovely too, love the neon glow, just wish I could have had a closer look at the blobbies! The concept of farming all these raw materials to make hats was strange but poignant and I liked it. Really great work!

LD54 — Limited Space

One flew over the Poopoo's nest by tiffi 2023-10-17T16:30:46Z

Nothing more disturbing than that audio! Very nice, disgusting entry. I like that the poop bounced and the constipation effects were a great detail and the controls were actually quite smooth which made the experience all the more.. something.

Conveyor Chaos by Aggrathon 2023-10-16T17:52:17Z

Bit tricky to get started and work out the controls. Also with how the camera is set up, I didn't realise I had the starting piece in the wrong place. Nice idea to have the conveyor belts only go in a certain direction and so that you couldn't move pieces if there were other pieces in the way (which meant the difficulty curve between level 1 and 2 was a lot!).

Urban Jungle by Shess 2023-10-17T17:01:20Z

Really sweet game, lovely atmosphere and a nice way to spend some time. Really liked the feedback in the game, from how the plants would grow to even just selecting and placing them down. Made for a lovely experience.

Tiny Treasures by SaraMartins 2023-10-19T14:50:57Z

Nice graphics and cute feel to the game. I would have like to have seen what I threw away as well! Also after a couple of levels I realise I could just take what I wanted and leave everything else behind - there was no real reason to use the bin.

Cosmic Construction by ChuChuGeralt 2023-10-17T16:42:47Z

Nice relaxing atmosphere and puzzle. I couldn't really figure out the logic behind where the rotator appeared and why which I feel got in the way of enjoying the full experience, but ultimately there's some potential here!

for lonely giants by NewVid 2023-10-09T17:21:57Z

Loved that sort of paper-bag art style for the environment and with the music it made for the perfect atmosphere. I really wish there was more to do in the game because you made a world that I'd like to spend more time in, but of course time was limited. The dialogue suited the world well, I only would have liked to have been able to skip through it faster. Also why is it only possible for pink to pick up the money? Does blue have some bad debts?

Spaceout by very dark lord 2023-10-18T17:37:15Z

Really liked how the orbital format added a new element to this kind of gameplay like with how the asteroid would just fly by straight to the other side sometimes. Great to have so many different effects for the blocks, which meant I wasn't really in a hurry to get the asteroids out, I just wanted to see what all the different blocks did. Only thing I would say is that if you're using AI graphics, aren't you supposed to opt out of the graphics category?

Realistic Falling Blocks by Flying Dog Fish 2023-10-07T21:35:30Z

I love tetris and this was a really nice take on it, very challenging, mildly infuriating but there's a lot of potential here and I'm excited to see where you go with it!

Get Off My Seat! by beats 2023-10-17T18:14:17Z

I can definitely relate. Nice interpretation and something different! Really appreciated the audio feedback when trying to push them off.

The incredible adventure of Bonaventure the Hero by ThomasLebel 2023-10-16T17:44:54Z

I really liked the concept of the storybook and the platformer, and it was nice that the tutorial was integrated into the story nicely. I did find the controls a little unintuitive, like using W to jump and Space to attack felt strange and caught me out a few times. Also maybe integrating the text into the level a bit more might make it less a wall of text to read as I found myself wanting to focus more on the game than the text. But a nice idea and worth exploring further!

Disc Space by CaptAndrey 2023-10-17T20:00:28Z

Definitely the best sound effects

Farmer Bob by Tod Semple 2023-10-18T11:17:37Z

Love that you got your kids involved with is. There should definitely be more kid art games about!

Escape The Phantom Seascape! by Tao Yuanyue 2023-10-17T16:25:00Z

Took me a while and a few attempts but I managed to get to the clock bit! And then I got stuck there and died. Really great entry though! The atmosphere was perfect with those graphics and sound design and the interactions with everything. Wish I could have explored it more.

Super Wraparound by Bergeronimo 2023-10-09T17:30:00Z

Really proud of my high score of 10. Deceptively difficult but looks simple enough that you think you can beat it if you try just one.more.time. Really nice, well done.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Dgdgan by Gossian 2024-10-22T15:23:49Z

@vodzik @turturi @roka-josh @mithoskuu @cloverfall @biene-maja @david-huculak Thanks for your comments and for giving the game a go! I've updated it and hopefully fixed some of the issues like the interaction problems, day/night cycle speed, pausing while chatting, player movement speed, and a warning before night falls. Unfortunately the music is still the same as my musicians are busy being musicians... but feel free to give it another go if you'd like!

Dgdgan by Gossian 2024-10-22T20:39:45Z

@brainloaf-studio Thank you for the feedback! The track was supposed to slow down and distort at night but it's not working in the build for some reason. The plan was to have different villagers appear depending on which house you chose to stay at each night, who you could talk to and get to know, but maybe in a later version! Thanks again!

Corporate Swarm by lonelyfloat 2024-10-25T21:48:19Z

Ok that was quite hard! Liked the concept though and loved that winning always felt such such a close call. I liked the sound effects of the swarm and the stick-men graphic were v cute.

Nectar Nomads by Aaron Huggins 2024-10-25T21:55:55Z

Great little clicker game! Especially liked the UI graphics!

Nano Commando by ferelily 2024-10-18T17:26:30Z

Frustratingly addictive! Great graphics, especially the UI. Would have preferred enemy fire to look different than my own fire so it's easier to tell which to avoid or not.

MozgEbem Game by Mak1c00 2024-10-18T17:02:52Z

Really nice graphics and animations - loved the details of the pots and plants around the border. Cute little game, well done.

Eclipse of Survival by REMODDDE 2024-10-18T16:54:21Z

Using the javelin was very satisfying. Wish there was a way to gain health though so I could keep playing!

LD57 — Depths

How the Moon Got Its Colors by Carraka 2025-04-18T14:10:33Z

Cute game! I liked powerfully sucking in all the nearby tears - that felt very satisfying. Great that you managed what is essentially a complete game, well done!

Depth Dive by Beebo Studios 2025-04-18T14:20:15Z

Very nice graphics, very nice idea. Loved the writing for the commentator - surprisingly funny though I did lose hearts trying to read it. Dinosaur level was impossible. Might try again later because I'd like to see what other levels there are because the surprise of each level and the funny commentary made me keep playing through the frustration.

Fosu! by island-jam-2-group-3 2025-04-18T14:25:57Z

Until it got faster, it felt like quite a simple easy game. Would be nice if there was something to collect for bonus points or something rather than bombs to avoid or shields just in case you hit a bomb.

Cavers Cantina by kristinamay 2025-04-17T21:57:16Z

Bit tricky to figure out what to do and when the blender appeared it took embarrassingly too long to realise it was for making potions whereas the bowl was for making salads. I love how much work you clearly put into the game though from the visual effects to all the dialogue and potion descriptions and the audio feedback. Only thing I'd say is that the info about correct/incorrect potions was too fast, as was the info from the boss and I didn't always get a chance to read through it all.

SLITHER by slimetrash 2025-04-17T22:16:34Z

Beautiful graphics - adored the start screen, which I don't think I've ever said before. Lovely animations and bounciness and love that when you restart a level you just dart back to the starting point. Generally really nice gamefeel. Gameplay itself was infuriating though and I couldn't get past the third level.

Really interesting concept, but the controls are a little unclear. Might be nice to have a video to show how the game should be played and how it progresses because it would be nice to explore it more. Just wish I knew what I was doing!
