Really nice idea with the book & story-theme! I didn't play it through as I'm not very good with platformers, and died constantly to falling & archers. And it was very hard for me to hit the enemies with the bombs. The style was very nice and I liked the atmosphere and writing.

Very cute concept, great mood/atmosphere. Your comment about feeling rushed in the final few hours felt very relatable, but I thought your game came out pretty well polished, even without a debugging session.
Really nice visuals and catchy music. The book theme was amazing and felt really original. The character felt a bit small and there was a lot of empty space that could have been used for the game itself. Overall a nice entry.

The book is well made and the platformer plays well. The weapons felt balanced, movement was snappy and the game was overall fluid with well designed levels.
The only thing that I would like to see different is the text boxes. The text changing abruptly in the boxes was a bit jarring. Maybe with some more time you could try putting the text on the pages with a typing animation. ;)

This game is very pretty with its minimalist esthetic and the book effect is great. However, it's a bit hard to distinguish the background from the important stuff like enemies and crates and weapons and sometimes even platforms. The gameplay itself is fun. There is a problem with the number of lives not resetting properly when you fail the game.

Loved the theme of a history book and the general atmosphere
Nice job! I enjoyed the way you presented the story! Just as a note, I sometimes picked up weapons dropped by enemies by accident because spacebar is bound to both attack and pick up. It was kind of frustrating to have that happen since the weapon that I was using was being deleted. I would suggest setting a different key dedicated to picking up weapons. Other than that, I really like the concept!
Fun game! It was a neat game and cool concept. My only advice would be to set up the controls to better work with two hands. Typically a platformer game uses the space to jump. So maybe shift to pick up weapons, return to attack and then space to jump. This would allow a player to use jump with their right hand to allow for better timed jumps. I fell to my death more times than I'd like to share. Good job!

Nice game, I really like the pixelart graphics! Overall gameplay is nice. It doesn't feel very natural to switch focus from gameplay to story and vice versa. I think it could be better to enlarge the gameplay area and provide the story text inside. Also, I'd use other, pixelart font, black without the frame. It could match the style better. HP should be on the bottom, or closer to the level. Anyway, the platforming feels fine, which is very important. Good job.
EDIT: I noticed that you can go to the other room without picking up the sword and can't go back. This should be fixed somehow.

Great game! I really like the book-style optic a lot. This looks just amazing.
Gameplay-wise I didn't know I can change the weapon and I was a bit confused when I didn't have the sword anymore. It also seems if you change weapons the old weapon is just gone, but I think it would work way better if the old weapon was placed in the world, in case the player change weapons by accident or just want to test the other weapon.
While looking at the bottom part of the screen, it felt sometimes a bit hard to see what part of the text in the upper part was added to the existing text. Maybe it might be helpful if the old text part were grey and have only the new text in white, so the player can easier spot the new text.
But again, overall I thought this is a great game!
The mechanics of this game were really smooth. I loved the graphics and the color scheme alot, feels really natural. Great game!

I really liked the concept of the storybook and the platformer, and it was nice that the tutorial was integrated into the story nicely. I did find the controls a little unintuitive, like using W to jump and Space to attack felt strange and caught me out a few times. Also maybe integrating the text into the level a bit more might make it less a wall of text to read as I found myself wanting to focus more on the game than the text. But a nice idea and worth exploring further!
