Those graphics are something. And the music as well. This is a really fun game, even if I suck at it.

Good little game. I especially liked how the fishes have some inertia to them. The looks and the music were good too.
Fun game. Now I know what to do if a wizard steals my voice.
I never thought I'd see a game like this before, really entertaining. I've got to say though, was really disappointend that the guy didn't explode upon victory.
I didn't quite understand the game at first. But after a while I got it. And I enjoyed the audio quite a bit.
Loved the style of this game.
Hey. Your windows download is missing the Data folder, without this folder it refuses to run. Make sure you zip together the MagicBook2.exe and the MagicBook2_Data folder and put that to download.
Running over all those people with that gigantic snowball was SO satisfying!
I quite liked this concept, with some polishing this could turn out to be a great game.
There's just too many things going on, and it's kind of hard to keep track of what you bought and how many times you bought that.
Interesting game, I never thought I would be refusing a slice of pizza.
One thing that was bothering me was the camera shake, it's fine to have it, but I think it was a little too intense.
Thank you!
About the walls. When I started this I had an endless game in mind. But I implemented the walls because with some luck, you were able to just go off in one direction and get some really high scores.
Great! This is one of those games that I like but am bad at.
A few minutes staring at that face has made me feel a little weird. But wow! I just loved this experience.
The puzzles were well made, there was a nice progression to the difficulty, but I wish there was some sort of scoring system.
Great game! The graphics are amazing. The weapons deplete a bit too fast, I had to kill the bugs with the shield in the last level, but maybe that was intentional. The game didn't seem to load on Firefox for some reason.
Good game. It has all the basics of tower defense, and considering your time constrains that's impressive. I like the graphics but think the UI could use some love. I wasn't able to see the entire map because my middle button doesn't work but adding camera controls was a nice touch.
Wow! Loved the art style. A little bit more balancing and it would be perfect in my opinion.
Fantastic work! The graphics on this are amazing. The fighting can get a bit frustrating at times, when you get hit and can't really do anything for quite som time while being swarmed by enemies.
I couldn't click start on the linux version :( I'll try it on Windows later.
On Windows it's working. Took me a while to understand what I needed to do and what was going on in the game, but after a few tries it was pretty fun. One thing that annoyed me a little was that when the research dialog is open you can still see the hint for building, that threw me off on the first tries.
There are some quirks here and there, but I enjoyed the gameplay. The music was a bit on the loud side. Good work on the graphics, but I think the background could move, at least to let the player know that he is going up. Good game overall.
Oops! The link is fixed now.
The game is really unforgiving. Maybe the first night could be a little easier to let the player see how much the batteries last. The restart button doesn't work for me. On Chrome it gave me an error when I clicked it: ``` Uncaught TypeError: this.station.activate is not a function at BasicGame.Game.restoreConsumption (Game.js:278) at BasicGame.Game.measurePowerBalance (Game.js:248) at c.Timer.update (phaser.min.js:19) at c.Time.updateTimers (phaser.min.js:19) at c.Time.update (phaser.min.js:19) at c.Game.update (phaser.min.js:12) at c.RequestAnimationFrame.updateRAF (phaser.min.js:18) at window.requestAnimationFrame.forceSetTimeOut._onLoop (phaser.min.js:18) ```
I think your game is good, and with some tweaks it could be a lot better!
Pretty good game, great work. The movement was a bit off and sometimes a monster seemed to just teleport to me. There could be a bit more explanation on the preparation screen saying what those batteries mean.
Apart from these issues I really enjoyed this game.
I quite enjoyed this game. Only problem I had was that the key presses weren't recognized every time.
Link looks broken :( can't find the file
I liked the concept but I made too many mistakes by confusing the electron and the light. Somethings I think you could improve: * Add some sound effects and music * Draw some graphics to make distinguishing the electron and the light easier * Make a few tweaks to the puzzle generator (I started right next to the light at least 4 times)
@cagibi Yeah this game was made with Godot 4.0. I used the Compatibility renderer to try a Web build but couldn't get it to work within the submission hour and sadly and I didn't have time debug it until now. Didn't kown about this link, thanks!
I agree with you and @mozokevgen, the AI is way off, maybe I can work on it when I revisit the game later.
Wow, I didn't think about adding some feedback to the walls dropping, it really would make a big difference to the experience. This is something I absolutely will add when I revisit this.
Thanks for the feedback.
I only have one question. Why does shoving people out of your way feel so good? But seriously, fun game that plays smoothly and the music helps convey the tone of urgency that you feel when fighting for the last seat on the train. Sometimes I found myself screaming internally when people blocked me.
Good balance of difficulty on the puzzles, not too easy, not too hard. Had to think for some of the later levels and it was quite satisfying to solve. A fun twist on sokoban.
The models go really well together and the sound effects fit with the game, although the moving sound was a bit too loud for my personal preference.
The book is well made and the platformer plays well. The weapons felt balanced, movement was snappy and the game was overall fluid with well designed levels.
The only thing that I would like to see different is the text boxes. The text changing abruptly in the boxes was a bit jarring. Maybe with some more time you could try putting the text on the pages with a typing animation. ;)
Enjoyed everything about this game, the music and sound fit well and create a good atmosphere. Pixel art is on point. Gameplay feels smooth and it's very easy to understand the mechanics.
Only thing I missed was some variation on enemies and levels, but I think this is just personal preference, the game is great as is.
Great work putting this together! I think the models for the crates and barrels are looking really nice. Unfortunately the game kept crashing on me so I couldn't get super far into the game.
I also really struggled with the enemies, their shots are brutally accurate and deal a lot of damage.
Overall I think you did good job for your first LD! Keep it up!
Took me quite a few tries to get a path that worked for the final boss. Went all-out attack and it felt good to one-hit the boss and get revenge for all the times they one-hit me. Really engaging puzzle.
I missed some animations, like the clouds dissipating or the enemies dying. Also there was one sound effect - I don't remember which one now -, that was a bit too loud, but nothing that turning down the volume didn't solve.
Good work on your first LD!
