Nice game! Played it several times, though I never quite managed to beat it (insert micheal jackson sounds).
The health boosts don't seem to work, so the +999 health upgrades does nothing. I thought i'd beat the game when I finally got that, but no dice. Otherwise I hope you listened to Lady angel about the TODO list. Restarting from level one makes sense, but having to listen to the dialogue every time is a bit irritating. Lastly, I rarely actually fought the slimes. Making them drop something might make fighting them more interesting.
Aside from that, I really liked the game! The music is nice and fun, and the art and colors look great. I hope you continue to make games. You've earned yourself a follower!
I'm a fan! Very fun trying to plan out the optimal route and not run out of time. Any criticism I had was already cover by @crispypear prior so I'll just say good work!
@jellycopter hey thanks for the ping! The rating system wasn't up when I left my comment, so I can finally actually rate this!
This is pretty cool. really like the look and the simple backing tune. I played through 3 times, couldn't beat itm but I'm gonna choose to believe it is possible to do so haha
Agree with the other comment about the slimes needing more a reason to fight them, but overall very well done

Nice game you made there ! I didn't managed to kill the boss but at least I tried ! Really good to have some humour inside the game like you did with breaking the fourth wall.

This is a perfect candidate for undo mechanic! It would fit so well in this game since failure is very punishing and would allow for some more experimentation (checking out different paths). I liked that I had to stop and think instead of blindly brute forcing my way to the end. The music is soothing, visuals pretty and I liked the game!

Thanks a bunch for the thoughtful review!!! @crispypear Oops, that HP999 item wasn't suppose to be there. I originally had another route in mind with boosting HP and attack at the same time but didn't have time to design it in the end (I also had a bunch of other item ideas like temporary boosts and enemy drops that I didn't have time for haha...). And yes, UNDO, need to figure out how to do that before making the next grid based game. I will definitely continue making games! This is my first Ludum Dare and I enjoyed doing work that normally takes weeks in 2 days lol.

The loooong dialogue at the start is extremely irritating - that's the reason I gave up after about dozen tries. I see potential here, but the only way to actually get by the angel seems to be getting your attack high enough to kill her in one shot and I just couldn't find a way to do it.

Nice entry! I like the concept of finding the best path through the unchanged levels. I agree with the others, there is not much motivation to do anything but line up upgrades until the bossfight. Nice little game!

@shigor Hi sorry for the not having undo or restart from level function implemented! But you actually don't have to go through the dialogue! You can just start moving once the character is on screen. Looks like a lot of people didn't realize that. I'll add it in the description.

Took me a few tries, but I ended up beating it. Looks like Defense was the real key :) Well done!
Felt like it was going to be hard to beat (planning the route across several levels was hard/scary), but ended up at the boss with the exact defense required to get no damage from them on my third try. Instead of the rewind/redo, maybe checkpoints at the start of each level could have worked ? That's assuming you can't be in a state where you can't beat the game if you didn't get enough upgrade in previous levels.

Started the game with mixed expectations, then saw the mechanics and instantly got excited. I got to the final boss with about 160 atk but completely skipped any defense so I got oneshotted :D. Would be awesome if there would be more levels to play. Good job!

Graphics and mood is real nice, gameplay idea could be decent as well but it's a sort of thing that needs lot more polish to be comprehendible and playable, or at least for me, I can see other people managed to even beat the game but I have no clue how they did it with the speed of clouds disappearing. Imho without the combat mechanics and with just the cloud mechanics (which relate to LD54 theme the most) it would be an enjoyable cloud-walker game as the world is pretty nice to be in, personally I'd rather enjoy the atmosphere than rapidly add numbers.
that sharp high pitch ding is too loud lol
Funny dialogues, and I was pleasantly surprised at level 3, very thematic. I then promptly died though because I didn't know what the counter resets to after a collapse :-\
This was a pretty fun game! I really like how the game essentially makes you do two playthroughs, the first treating each level as a separate puzzle, and the second treating the entire game as one puzzle. on that note, I do wish that there were more than two levels before the final boss so that charting a path through the whole game felt a bit more rewarding. I also only realized on my second playthrough that the only reason you're killing enemies is because the boss angel tells you to, not for any in game benefit. Overall really solid game!
I loved the game! The music and colors are so good for your theme. It took me a while to realize that slimes are just there chilling and blocking path, they don't give bonus if killed or attack me if not killed, and I could just pass by them, I'm not saying it shouldn't be like that, but the Angel's speech is a bit misleading ("kill the monsters and save the world"). The other thing is that the player disappears in the hallway/stairs when finishing the game. Overall is a pretty solid game, I would've love more stages tho
The sprites are pretty great, and I loved the part where the angel suggests that you "get thick enough". I don't know why I didn't notice the countdown at the top for the sky falling, but I think the game could've been juicier and more challenging if you skipped the counter altogether and just made every move drop one row of clouds behind you. That might necessitate different level design though, so if you work on this game more, consider it! The audio was unfortunately crackling for me consistently, usually when moving the player, so this took away from the experience. The boss at the end was a nice twist! Good job.

Nice little puzzle game. I felt so betrayed in level 3. 😅 Took me a while to find the correct path, but it felt very satisfying when I finally did. 😊 The music is quite lovely and I enjoyed the short story. I liked how you employed the collapsing floor / limited space and I can imagine there is potential for further interesting levels playing around with the mechanics (e.g. moving enemies etc.). Well done! 💜

Took me quite a few tries to get a path that worked for the final boss. Went all-out attack and it felt good to one-hit the boss and get revenge for all the times they one-hit me. Really engaging puzzle.
I missed some animations, like the clouds dissipating or the enemies dying. Also there was one sound effect - I don't remember which one now -, that was a bit too loud, but nothing that turning down the volume didn't solve.
Good work on your first LD!

I've finally cracked the strategy of stacking my attacks for a powerful blow to take down the boss lol. Those disappearing platforms really adds an intense element to the experience - Great job on this entry!
Good work! A solid take on the genre, plenty of opportunities to think things through. Keep it up!
