LD53 — Delivery

Then Came A Stork by bonkibot 2023-10-03T12:18:41Z

It was playable on itch, but on LD I got: Error The following features required to run Godot projects on the Web are missing: Cross Origin Isolation - Check web server configuration (send correct headers) SharedArrayBuffer - Check web server configuration (send correct headers)

The white text is hard to read when the BG color gets bright. With an outline or something it would be easy to read on both dark and light colors. The text is pretty far away from the character you're controlling too so I missed some of it.

The aesthetics and sound were well done. Like the explosion when you lose too.

LD54 — Limited Space

Gone Fishin' by cdunham 2023-10-05T05:13:27Z

Nice chill game. Noticed I could mash space multiple times the green bar and instantly catch a fish sometimes, so I guess you can either play it chill or try to be fast.

Dogtor Jones and the Holy Bone by Neon Glass 2023-10-03T10:52:15Z

It's simple, fun, and pretty addicting. There's quite a bit of levels too. The animations are nice and full of personality. The game's pretty good

Clockwork Tower by chompdev 2023-10-03T08:03:41Z

The shadow on the ground was a pretty good light jump scare. The atmosphere and the sounds were good too. I was looking around for something to pop out of nowhere the whole time, even though the room was so small it would be hard for something to hide.

Tetryian by Yskuma 2023-10-03T11:36:00Z

Using the shield and running into enemies worked for the first level but didn't work after that so I had to actually get some offense. Was waiting for the enemies to respawn for a while on the first level and didn't know what I was looking at when the game started. Maybe if you played one tutorial level and then got upgrades, you'd have context for what you're doing.

Tidal Towns by Ciber_Turtle 2023-10-03T10:09:42Z

Took a while to see that it was a puzzle game with levels instead of a base builder but I saw what I was doing after the first level "tutorial". It looks nice and comfy too but the flat colors (trees, houses, stones) look a little out of place next to the pixel textured stuff. The water looks really nice too.

Exodus by Lachlan James 2023-10-03T12:30:06Z

I like that this one gives you a tutorial and guides you through what you're supposed to do early. A lot of games forget that onboarding the player is important. Once you get into the game, the music and the narrative elements are nice. I think the game crashed after I lost due to dehydration when I tried to restart.

Airpansion by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2023-10-04T00:41:29Z

It didn't work for me in Firefox when trying to run it on LD website, I got: Uncaught DOMException: The operation is insecure.

I had that issue too but got it to work when I disabled Data Cashing in the publishing settings: https://ludumdare.com/resources/guides/embedding/

The hit boxes to pick up items are a little small and it seems like they are in different spots for different tools so they're hard to pick up. Once you get it, you use the tools to progress and unlock different parts of the map. It's cute looking and the music is nice. The voiced sound effects were a nice touch too.

Being able to see the next tool you are close to being able to reach is good for keeping you from getting lost too. I got to the ending without having to do too much back tracking because of that.

Tiny Bites, Big Delights: A Culinary Adventure in a Pocket Sized Kitchen by asbjorn 2023-10-03T12:22:47Z

The game looks nice and sounds good, but would like some tutorial or instructions on how to play the game and get into it quickly. There's a lot of options and it isn't obvious what's happening or what things do.

Infinitum Labyrinth - Space Un-LIMITed by AweSkyBear 2023-10-05T05:09:17Z

I never got into JS and web stuff but this is a good argument for it. The only thing I didn't like was entering portals and repel being on the same button, so if an enemy sat on a portal, I had to wait.

The sound effects, music, and the UI style contributed to the aesthetic retro flash style aesthetic, except it probably runs better than those games. You got a lot of polish done too and there are a lot of options, like as many as there would be in a finished game.

Got close to 2K

Great use of the theme to make something fun to play. Plus everything tied together: the arcade style, graphics, the pun in the title, retro sfx. I really like the walking animation too.

Caveat Exemplum Optimus by Jason Shapiro 2023-10-07T10:47:03Z

Liked what you were going for with the prose, but it stayed at full throttle weirdness the whole time and lost some of its impact. Moments of horror sprinkled into normalcy makes the strange things happening really stand out.

Nice Park! by Barbabulle 2023-10-04T02:51:05Z

Nice job making a pun out of the theme. The game looks good and the honking sound effects and engine revving so loudly during simple parking really ties together the humor. It's simple and plays pretty well too. The polish is great for a jam game too. You did a good job with the level design too. It eases you into the puzzles and making it score focused keeps the player from getting stuck.
