I, too, like the chill experience. My favorite is the look and smooth control of the boat.
@stvup Thanks, glad you liked it!
@thunnus Glad you enjoyed it!
Chill game! After a somewhat stressful LD final spurt, this was just the right game for me to play. :smiley: The fishes are really nicely drawn and the texts are funny! I also liked that the sound adjusted according to the difficulty of the fishing.
I also fished out all the trash, of course, and will dispose of it properly for a cleaner environment :smile: GoneFisching.png
Small improvement possibilities: The Sea Bass was only displayed to me once, the next times I fished it, the display was always empty and so I couldn't add anything to my inventory. Also, there is no end screen when the inventory is full? That would have been nice. But anyway, it was fun and chill to play it. :slight_smile:
Not sure it really fits the theme, since there's no incentive to have specific things in our inventory or actual gameplay based on having to handle a limited space. But a very charming game nonetheless! The fishing gameplay loop is...weirdly addictive. It's nothing deep, but it just works well enough to keep you interested at least a few minutes, wondering what the next catch will be. Some of these are quite hard to catch...! The music is nothing to write much about, but it fits the vibe the game is going for. This was cool to play.
Possible bug: the "sea bass" fish never appeared as a fish to drag into my inventory when I caught one. This happened every time I caught one.
@kitira Wow, you caught a lot! Hope you liked it! I would do an end game screen but I mostly just wanted players to enjoy at their own pace and finish when they wanted. I fixed the sea bass actually, thanks for noticing the bug.
@genroa If I had more time I would've made the inventory really small and let the player sell their catches and buy upgrades, but I wanted to make sure everything else worked in the game before then and it was too late by the end. I fixed the sea bass bug though, thanks for catching it!
Agreed with Thunnus, the boat was really smooth to control and a relaxing experience. Also, loved the fish-catching jokes XD.
Not sure if it's intentional, but I noticed that you can only get each block of green once per pass (although it's not punished if you do more so I assumed this was just to prevent spamming space. Also! If you put something back into the water, it'll stay there and be available for pickup later on. (so we should clean out the water! ^_^)
I would add some point system or something for the game to have an objective but otherwise very chill game, fishing spots are VERY hard to see, but liked the game altogether.
Music was really nice, a very chill game. Although a point system would be pretty cool :)
Yey, after screenshot of kitira, my goal was to catch omega crab and octopus. And I did it :)
Nice chill game, with some market and fishing gear progression it might just start shining. Nice job
A relaxing game with soothing music. The theme alignment is a bit unclear. I appreciate the gradual difficulty increase with the fish. It would be nice to have a way to deposit trash somewhere.
"A rusty pipe covered in some kind of liquid' my guess would be water. Well done, relaxing little fish-em'up.
Nice game! Very chill. I think sometimes the meter would register a miss when it was a hit but overall it was nice. Played it for longer than I thought I would.
Nice chill experience!

Pretty chill game.
Nice chill game. Noticed I could mash space multiple times the green bar and instantly catch a fish sometimes, so I guess you can either play it chill or try to be fast.
@addaellis lol glad you liked my bad jokes. You can hit each spot more than once on each pass, yeah, but if 2 green parts overlap sometimes it messes things up a little
@greenpig I'm planning on doing a post Ludum Dare version with more things to catch, a score system, win condition, and different fishing icons depending on how rare the catch
@porgiepie I'll add a score system and some more stuff in a post Ludum Dare version :smile:
@rusya-ink Glad you caught them! I was planning on having the player sell their catches and buy stuff but it didn't make it into the jam version and would've made it less relaxing and calm, I feel.
@ahbee-studio-nex-us You can drag items you don't want out of the inventory and it'll trash them for you
@raphiell lol its a reference to another game actually, and is not just water
@nick-baggett Glad you liked it! There's a bug where if 2 green meters overlap it won't register as hitting. Wish I could fix it easily
@logan-core @rumiaobsessed @bergeronimo Thanks for playing! Hope you liked it!
Relaxing and you're always curious what you will find! Is there a way to win the game? 😄
@kankje Not in the Ludum Dare version, no :sweat_smile: Hope you liked it though!
I fished up until a certain point, then I got sick. But it was a different idea. I think the inventory was too big for the tight space theme
Lovely little way to spend a morning! Had a lot of fun :)
Really cute and relaxing fishing game!
@lincolnsalles @soup-and-sandwich-games @freeworld Thanks for playing :smile:
really cool little game, definitely has potential for a full-scale game!
@mallykm Glad you liked it, that means a lot :smile:
Nice fishing game! limited space is obvious constraint here. I've spent some time fishing until I couldn't fit anything in either trash space or in my inventory. There doesn't seem to be way to end the game here. But nonetheless, I know how to play this game and how to avoid trash :wink:
@bloodbane Glad you liked it!
I enoyed the game and it's atmosphere. It would be cool if you could do something with catch too. Good job!
@japayne There was a plan for selling the catches but I didn't have enough time :sweat_smile: glad you liked it though!
Nice chill game.
Whatever you leave in the water or put back in it doesn't disappear. If it gets filled you only get a message about catching a fish but no actual fish :smirk:
@flying-dog-fish Thanks for playing! I fixed some of that stuff and added more content in an update
Fun game! I liked the fishing mechanic. Only thing I felt that was missing was some sort of ending once you filled your boat. Screenshot 2023-10-17 at 7.10.39 AM.png
Well done!
It seems to me that if you make the graphics a little more pleasant, you will get a great relaxing fishing simulator :)
Neat game! A counter keeping track of how many of the fish you've caught like a progress or achievement bar would be something I would definitely add. fish.png
@draekdude There's something like that if you catch one of each kind of fish. Thanks!
@scarytreegames Not sure what you mean by more pleasant...
@borjan1peovski That's a cool idea. Thanks for playing!
I really enjoyed the game; it's quite simple but has its unique twist. The gameplay is quite original, in my opinion. Keep it up. I won't mention all the shortcomings and bugs in the game as they have been described above
