I miss the cut scenes, but apart from that, great stylish game!
This was most fun for me to play of the entries so far. I don't see much correlation to the theme, but good job!
Thank you for all the great feedback guys! A lot of good points have been made, especially concerning music, which I unfortunately didn't have time to make. I was tempted to add a track I had previously made, but it would take away from the joy of doing a compo. I will definitely do better to make time for it next time around!
I found this heartwarming
Brilliant game! I didn't immediately understand the game, but after I did I enjoyed for quite a while.
Very cool game with impressive amount of content! The jagged camera movement each time you shoot was a little jarring though.
Really cool game. I found it a bit too easy, but it was fun.
Very interesting game and great implementation of the mechanics! Good job!
It was a fun game, and the power-ups were quite clever in changing up the game and allowing for deeper runs.
@devga-me Thank you for the lovely feedback!
Cool game mechanics! I found the ctrl and shift controls a little awkward to use, but the gameplay was fun. Good job :)

First of all, thanks so much for the kind feedback on my game, despite it's lack of content. In all honesty, this is maybe my favorite game so far. It has great atmosphere, with it's simplistic and deliberate graphics and audio. The intro got me interested, and wasn't too long. The gameplay was fun, and although it seemed simple at first, it steadily got more challenging. I found you could be unlucky at the start of some levels, and receive unavoidable attacks though.
I couldn't finish the game, but then I read a comment on the itch page that there was no ending, and I came to think that it suited the game's intro story that way. The character's goal was to find the meaning of life, which I felt got answered through the gameplay. You keep pushing forward until you give up and stop trying, or simply aren't able anymore. That' also a valid way to view all kinds of life in general. At least that's how I interpreted it.
Good job!
Really cool concept for the game controls. Kinda reminds me of "Getting over it". A bit too difficult for me though. Good job!
Really charming game! It has great atmosphere with nice art, animations and music. I think it would be easier to play if the item info was shown like a tooltip when hovered over.
Great original game! The art is amazing. It was easy to cheat on the second task by holding down all the buttons. Perhaps each button should have drained a power source, leading to failure if buttons are held too long.
@yogurtthehorse Thank you! We actually have newsletters that appear in the bottom right corner, but you have to click them for them to appear, which may have been a bad choice as it is easy to miss. I actually just posted a post jam version with a timer which we didn't have time for in the jam version :P
Very cute game! I thought the gravity was a bit too intense personally, but other than that I really liked it
Really nice idea for the game! I really liked the visuals/presentation, music and gameplay. It felt a little unbalanced but was still very enjoyable. Good work!
I enoyed the game and it's atmosphere. It would be cool if you could do something with catch too. Good job!
Most fun game I played so far! Only thing I can really comment on is that the reloading didn't reset the bullet count until after you fired a shot, but that's a very minor issue. Good job!
@triangle-point @fnkee @cat-lab - Thanks guys! @cat-lab - The clouds are actually completely random. I made a sequence system so that I could make them go with the beat, but I ended up just barely making the song before deadline, so unfortunately it was a coincidence :P
@snesgaard Thanks for the feedback! That's the one thing I've fixed a little so far in the post jam version, although it still has randomness to it which doesn't hit as hard as more scripted rhythm games of course.
@hakro Thanks! Yeah good point, mouse controls were more of an afterthought, but input specific difficulty settings could be a good way to mitigate the frustration by never having multiple simultaneous dreams when using the mouse
Really fun concept for the game! It was a little frustrating how easily you die. Maybe there could have been a velocity threshold when it comes to if a collision will kill you. Good job!
Fantastic game! I just barely won on my first try
I loved the unexpected if somewhat jarring aspects of the game, like narration, music and explosions! I didn't understand that I was supposed to attack the grade paper until my second try. But there didn't seem to be any obstacles for me, maybe I was unlucky. Good job!
Really cool graphics and effects! Had nice game feel
Cool concept of choosing your tool for the job after trial and error!
This is my favorite submission for ld55. Good job!
@pe7e @gravityflip @sillyman987 Thanks for the kind words!
@pe7e That's a good question I haven't really thought about, as I didn't experiment with different board sizes even though I made a tool to quickly generate them the first day. There is some disadvantage to having the first turn, as you have zero chance of capturing any existing yokai, but it would be interesting if one could generate statistics to indicate if the disadvantage is enough to make up for the extra turn.
