LD52 — Harvest

The Teeniest Seed by Jezzamon 2023-01-22T03:25:00Z

Reeeeally glad I came across this game, I actually said "Wow" out loud when I realized what I was playing. I like the use of theme, music was good, and I really liked how the main character was larger and visibly such a focus compared to other games. I feel like this should be a good old flash game or even an Nintendo eShop game. I can actually see replacing these turnips with Nintendo characters and it working well haha. Really cool and I will probably be following to see if you continue work on this.

Harvest Timing by Pennycook 2023-01-15T03:34:29Z

Definitely not bad for 9 hours of work. Music was the highlight for me...honestly reminds me of a SNES music track.

PUMPKING RISING by peringo 2023-01-15T16:52:11Z

Alooot of polish, games that feel nearly complete or have alot of polish I think are always the dream with contests like these. Graphics were good, music good, and the loop was good. Nice work and it kept with the theme...Kinda feels wrong planting something and killing it instead of loving it lol, but that's what makes this game different I guess.

Beeline by zactyl 2023-01-19T00:32:31Z

I really liked the controls, I like it was based on how fast you moved your mouse. I also liked you put variety in the sounds playing such as the water and car horn. I glitched out of bounds as well but replayed and finished the game. Was it on purpose you made fun of Jerry Seinfeld in a game about BEES or was it coincidence?...Because he made an animated movie about bees lol.

Anne & the Carrot Islands by bobo_oh 2023-01-15T04:57:33Z

This is the most polished and finished feeling game I've played so far in this jam. The graphics feel and look like a finished product and the gameplay has that finished feeling as well. Music was relaxing. Not too many stages either, good enough to get a full playthrough in for a Jam game. Yeah...good work lol.

Virens by Dis0rder 2023-01-14T22:00:46Z

I liked the atmosphere of this game quite a bit. Music was really appropriate, I literally checked to see if there was a mobile version of this because I was thinking of switching over to a phone since it feels so much like a phone game. Was fun, I would've liked to of seen a better ending, like a reason for harvesting the seeds, maybe sending them to another planet so this plant can grow elsewhere. But, I see you did this in 48 hours instead of the 72, so time wasn't on your side lol.

Beet Island by coatline 2023-01-15T03:16:07Z

Kinda cool that it's on an island, neat setting...reminds me of a tech demo like Mario 128 or something. I would liked to have been shooting beats at the enemies and maybe the enemies were fish or something instead of cubes.

Howdy Boy Harvest by Ismael Rodriguez 2023-01-22T01:20:09Z

I saw you post this on the main page feed a few times during the start and was interested AND then it popped up in the 4 suggested games. I was excited to try this, I'm sad it isn't more fleshed out because it obviously would've had more features. I hope to see a fuller version of this game later, it has a certain polish to it and played/felt great. If you ever are looking for a team mate or anything let me know, I like the quality and vibe of your works and wouldn't mind trying to team up.

Harvest Monster by gotchman01 2023-01-22T03:03:32Z

I liked the graphics probably the most from this game, cute and reminded me of original Bomberman/Lode Runner. Was satisfying harvesting the plants...Reallly appreciated the damage buffer, so you don't die when getting hit by multiple enemies.

Spaceman Spam's Delivery Service by sillyman987 2023-01-14T23:19:41Z

I'm liking all the upgradeable gameplay that the compo has brought out. Cool idea, I would like to see some music/sounds.

Harvest or Die by Ninnec 2023-01-14T21:27:56Z

I think this shows it could be fleshed out into something more, that'd be cool. I liked the Tim Burton style atmosphere. I didn't care for the controls, I wish the character had turned in the direction you wanted first using the arrow keys, then moved after pressing the arrow key again.

Harvest Festival 64 by Warrrkus 2023-01-15T17:34:45Z

The grabbing animation REALLY nailed the Animal Crossing style, jealous you have these assets at your disposal now.

Harvest by Oiluuuj 2023-01-15T19:25:48Z

Yeah, kinda sad you didn't get to add more, but that's how it goes. Maybe next time, good luck.

Harvest Skin by mikyokyuji 2023-01-22T02:50:01Z

I think everyone else probably said it already, this is a wtf kind of game, which is funny.

EarthWorm Bob by Senso 2023-01-15T19:21:01Z

Was a little confused about the rats eating me, but I figured it out and beat the game after losing. Overall it was pretty delightful, the sound effects were probably my favorite. I noticed each carrot had their own voice as well, that was cool. Muuuusic was not long enough though.

H.I.V.E - Highly Involuntary Vain Effort by Pentaworks 2023-01-15T04:01:32Z

The highlight for me was the sound/music...I appreciated the car driving by and the pig, it added to the environment honestly. I think the depth is quite impressive as well, the amount of different combinations was nice. The biggest thing I want changed is a cleaner interface, less buttons and more consistency in layout. But again, we all only had so much time to make things.

Vegetables Hunter by Vladimir ins 2023-01-21T23:46:51Z

Yeah, a little hard to figure out the main point of the game and controls were tough as well. I liked the guns though, the gun that brings vegetables back to you is cool AND music and graphics were good.

30 Days With Thiiis Guy by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2023-01-11T00:28:50Z

You need to click the "Zzz" button, then "Save and Continue". This starts the next day

30 Days With Thiiis Guy by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2023-01-11T01:30:41Z

@flubrio and @Sn4pi, I may have fixed the audio bug. I don't expect you guys to play it again unless you actually want to. Just a heads up and thanks for trying in the first place! I'll be checking your work out this weekend.

30 Days With Thiiis Guy by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2023-01-15T21:37:23Z

@pauljs @cat-chef @wouter52 Thanks guys for playing my game! I'll try and give yours all a go. I'm glad some of you enjoyed the actual talking, I knew this wasn't going to be a game that would standout for the graphics or coding, I was hoping the audio would help it standout.

TurnUp by bcmpinc 2023-01-14T19:38:29Z

Hey, I was impressed with this game. Started out kinda relaxing like you suggested and I thought it wasn't really going to get more entertaining, but it was cool seeing the balance of things as you added more stuff.

I played for an hour or more...the constant clicking reminded me of Insaniquarium from back in the day and the zooming out and seeing things get smaller reminded me of Katamari Damacy. I am bummed to see that there are glitches that prevent the game from progressing, but that's how it goes. The humor was decent as well, "Josh Joshington"

Harvest Week by boaz4 2023-01-15T03:11:25Z

Yeah, I think like others I thought it was going to be a...normal game. Definitely took a dark twist. Would like to hear an explanation about what is happening, is evil strawberries doing this? Is the main character delusional? ...Are the people being harvested? Things like the mom being replaced and the sign breaking make me think it's something doing it to them and not just people disappearing. Or maybe you just were trying to make something spooky. Either way, it changed tone quite nicely.

Money grows on trees by Fluburbio 2023-01-14T21:40:36Z

Can't really say anything that hasn't been said. I liked the art style alot, almost like you feel the fruit are your friends lol. I'm liking these progression games I've seen so far on the site.

Jacques Boomer's Garden by Globul 2023-01-15T15:52:35Z

Has some nice polish, main character, graphics, and music are fun. Would liked to have seen an ending screen for beating all levels.

LD53 — Delivery

Sir John Diggity and his friends: A Dangerous Delivery by Sheepolution 2023-05-18T23:03:35Z

Glad I gave this a go, you seem pretty talented. The graphics and mood/humor were the standouts for me. The TV look was cool and the drawings remind me of Cuphead a little bit, pretty delightful. Gameplay was fun and the cutscene added to the story, I also did a cutscene like that for the beginning of my game and seeing it used here reinforces the idea it does add more to the lore and world of a game. Also, I like what the one person said above, having 2 player co-op would be cool.

Foxcrate by agentparsec 2023-05-10T20:44:26Z

Like everyone has said, I enjoyed the art work and I'm sad you haven't gotten more people to play this yet. The artwork and just vibe of this game reminds me of Nick Jr. shows like Maisy Mouse. I feel like the gameplay even represents this, like you're showing what a delivery driver does in a way kids could understand. I enjoyed the variety this game has, I think it got a little tedious is my only problem but seeing that variety is also what makes this game standout. You already this, I'm sad I didn't get to finish the game 100% because it crashed after 10-15 mins of play. But it's a pleasant game, good work guys.

Hazard Saviour by sinclairstrange 2023-05-07T01:37:55Z

I am wanting to call you out that this was made in 72 hours, it seems too polished. Graphics and everything are all smooth, and you can see alot of different influences like Mega Man and maybe even Kirby. I am really happy you had the ranking just like Crazy Taxi with different letter rankings...I also ran into the bug where you couldn't pick anyone up on 1 of my playthroughs. Also, I would really like to see cash text appear next to the animal when you drop them off, it was a little confusing to understand the money...But yeah, good idea and good execution. I used to use TGF and MMF as my primary, so it's cool to see you represent that community with this game.

Plane of Destiny by KOHCEPBA 2023-05-07T16:55:23Z

This felt like an experimental type of game. I thought the controls were decent, would really liked to have seen a list for the controls on this page or in game however. Pretty cool that the paper folded and was the actual game object that included the text.

Don't get fired! by Zettelkasten 2023-05-10T23:56:16Z

That was pretty cool, cool cutscenes and decent paths that your character and the boss follows. Pretty delightful.

Brass Monkeys by johnnysix 2023-05-08T16:20:01Z

I was surprised a little by this one, it keeps you constantly moving without being too hectic. But I struggled as well with understand the balance of this game, I played it multiple times and couldn't win (I see your comment on how to win now). Would've really been nice to have a tutorial or how to play picture. But honestly, I was surprised by the graphics and music, reminded me very much of Donkey Kong Country. I had fun with this game other than the difficulty. Nice work.

Box-o-Bunny by settings 2023-05-08T15:08:15Z

I enjoyed this, very cute. Sad it wasn't longer. Everything very cute and upbeat, music reminded me VERY MUCH of Earthbound. Being able to pull blocks gave this game it's own unique mechanic instead of other games that only allow pushing.

Rhythmic Courier by Colin Misbach 2023-05-08T14:56:27Z

That was pretty fun, felt satisfying speeding up when keeping the rhythm properly. Sidenote, I liked how the boxes were added in the background at the delivery section, looked neat.

Special Delivery by Ismael Rodriguez 2023-05-12T19:44:14Z

I remember you from your last game and am reallly impressed with this as well. Not sure who you sold your soul to but it's working out lol. And you did us dirty with that one letter though, no one anyone is getting it on their first try lol.

The Corporation by deformhead 2023-05-12T19:22:44Z

Definitely feels like this could be turned into a bigger game later, each level could just be trying to find the right path on an odd shaped object. It was pretty neat altogether, my favorite part is how once you took the resource it faded the other block colors to gray.

42 blocks in 7 and one-half minutes by Sashbros 2023-05-07T03:27:42Z

For only 48 hours not terrible, I was impressed and thought the web and swinging felt and looked good. Probably should've made a copyright friendly character though, like "spider-dude" or something lol. Was funny though, funny way to take those movie moments and quickly make them into a game.

The Mail(gun) man by Kaijiro 2023-05-14T19:31:05Z

I agree, I would've liked to see something that says you hit the mailbox. I also didn't reach any "Full Boxes" but I went twice and got my highest score. I think you chose the right music that fits the gameplay, nothing more hardcore then delivery papers with music like that lol.

Score.png

Pizza Dash by kdx 2023-05-07T17:17:34Z

Pretty delightful, graphics were nice and music was great. I'll most likely listen to the soundtrack and see if I can find more by the maker of this track, I enjoyed that song quite a bit. Controls were a little tough once the hand got added and I might try and go back to find the "journals?" I think it was, but not sure if there will be a reward for those

Super Buffed Delivery Service by josep93 2023-05-07T17:03:55Z

Reeeeally glad I played this, good Jam game. Never really knew what to expect and simple. Haven't played a toss game like this in forever and this has it's own flavor. I liked the music and the overtop nature of everything, and I like how the music became almost elevator music in space haha.

Space Alien Cow Milk by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2023-05-07T13:45:02Z

@kohcepba Thanks for the feedback, I will look into the noise reduction. I record voices sometimes but just figured the poor quality was from a bad microphone and not bad settings, so I'm excited to hear I can adjust settings to fix this.

@kdx I am thinking about polishing this game up and putting it on the App Store. I completely agree with adding an endless mode, I was hoping to do that but like everyone else, just ran out of time. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I'll try to play your games. The biggest problem this game has is the controls work perfectly when you drag only LEFT or RIGHT, but that's not how we expect the controls to be...we expect to rotate by dragging in a circle and I just didn't get enough time to program it that way :(

Space Alien Cow Milk by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2023-05-07T13:45:02Z

Double post....

Space Alien Cow Milk by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2023-05-18T22:23:30Z

@LeGromp, thanks for playing. Hopefully you figured it out, if not let me know and I'll try and explain it lol.

Delivery Drive by Volodymyr Karchevskyy 2023-05-08T15:51:04Z

I really think the best thing you did was add difficulty options, and that's something I feel like doesn't get added to these games because of the time limit.

Five Nights at Papa's by Multipixels 2023-05-19T22:40:57Z

I finished the game, I reallly liked how the pizza arrow disappeared when you were close to your destination, that is a small touch but I feel like it makes the player feel like the game isn't handing their hand. I agree with alot of the other comments, I got stuck easily to objects and would've liked more music/sound. I would also like to have a timer or count to tell when the day/night is going to end.

HUEBER by Wrong Timeline 2023-05-07T19:09:59Z

Hey, I understood and played your game for the first 6 levels and the tutorial. I might come back and finish later but I believe I got the gist of the game. It was very satisfying to see everything play out once you connected everything and hit play, I enjoyed that and felt like I was actually forming a strategy. I am impressed that the dots were also smart enough to go to the proper locations and not head in any wrong directions. It was confusing at first for sure, the problem I had was not knowing when to use the "industry" or the "mining" for the homes, it was told in the tutorial but it was tough remembering everything. I think using different icons/shapes for the dots would've helped this. Also maybe having a universal circle tool instead of swapping between build modes would've simplified things.

But hey, you guys might not want to hear my opinions, we all had limited time and rarely do we get to have everything as perfect as we'd like. But props for doing something that is different from everyone else.

The Frog Prince by Thomas Karcher 2023-05-08T15:19:23Z

I enjoyed this, light hearted. Pretty much what others have said, reminded of a strategic Frogger game for sure. And I also enjoyed the saying out of no where, "With great balls come great responsibility."

Willow & Audrey's Floral Delivery Service by Sarah Pederson 2023-05-07T02:10:36Z

Yeah, the vibe of this game was pretty decent. I liked the music, lively and upbeat. Made me realize I know very little about different types of flowers lol. Not a whole lot in terms of gameplay, but like I said, the mood was pleasant. Good work

Delivery Boy Island by Ducxss 2023-05-07T03:57:39Z

I am a huge Super Mario World fan and decided to give this a try. Definitely difficult to navigate and deliver packages properly. I enjoyed the different levels, and the added ability to run, swim, and climb. I couldn't figured out how to use the gun like the instructions told, maybe you ran out of time for that feature, which is fine. I did beat the boss and win the game but like I said, navigation and goals was a little confusing. Keep it up.

Micromanager by ZombieWalrus 2023-05-07T02:41:55Z

I am glad you guys used the grid based movement, I don't see that very often. I think I was drawn to playing this because it reminds me of Bomberman. I played this multiple times because I wanted to beat it. It's definitely a little unbalanced, to beat the game I only did 1 upgrade to save money. And I would've liked some music and sounds for this robotic scene. Best thing this game did was some humor, I thought the dialog had some funniness to it. And now I feel like I know what it's like to work at an Amazon warehouse, so thanks lol.

Delivery and Hunting for Lavatory (DHL) by Kitira 2023-05-07T16:07:04Z

That was more of an experience than a game (in a good way) haha. This feels like a Jam game, just something random and not bound to a bunch of rules, like random dialog and needing to use the bathroom. I love platformers and once I got the hang of this it was fun and like I said, a pretty fun jam game.

LD54 — Limited Space

Free Shipping by peacememories 2023-10-07T19:49:45Z

Nice take on the theme, I would've like to seen some kind of "Congratulations" pop-up when finishing the boats, but other than that it did what it was intended to I believe. Relaxing and decent controls for working in such a confined space

Boxed In by voxatrophia 2023-10-14T19:07:10Z

Going to be honest, I played all the levels and I really only enjoyed levels 7 and 8. I felt like 8 showed what this game can be, I liked how it had different locations you needed to block and I liked how the speed was faster. I can't remember if I saw you were continuing development on this game or not, but if you are level 8 is more of what I want to see and it'd be cool if the blocks fell down faster the longer you played like in Tetris. Also, if you made the music, I enjoyed it.

Six Seats Left by F1Krazy 2023-10-06T21:37:33Z

I'm surprised more people haven't played this yet, the graphics make it look inviting. I played till the end and thought it was alright, I see it was for Compo. I was almost expecting someone was a murderer or something like Among Us, like some kind of extraterrestrial twist (try and not bring the back guy). The game is pretty simple and straight forward, best thing that's neat is how the ending tells each persons story, I think it even had 2 of my crew mates getting married (which was a neat touch).

Troglo by Ismael Rodriguez 2023-10-06T00:29:17Z

Bro, I am impressed everytime I play one of your games. I saw the preview for this one and thought it wasn't gonna be as good, but damn...The polish and just genuine goodness is always there. I forgot I was playing a Jam game and was immersed like playing a fully polished game, controls are super tight. I wanna point out I am reminded of Joe & Mac with the caveman having blue hair AND the original Donkey Kong arcade game where the character only makes noise when he walks, AND Adventure Island (caveman and girl gets kidnapped). I have to agree, the only reason I was cautious about this not being good was the theme, I think you are right that if it had been more dangerous/quick it would've felt more connected to the theme. Also agree with someone else that said teaching the player as they play was executed very well here. I love platformers so much and this was great.

Small Plot Agriculture by SimonLarsen 2023-10-15T15:00:50Z

I really enjoyed this, might even come back and play again sometime. Really satisfying gameplay loop and the game is really polished. Controls were kinda finicky here and there, like someone else said a tutorial or more intuitive directions would've been nice at the start, other than that I think it was good. Decent use of theme with only 1 item AND the odd patterns you had to plant the seeds with.

Tess' Cool Finding Game by TrashCanHero 2023-10-14T18:35:40Z

Cute game, I wish it was longer though. Like maybe more of a time reward for finding the frogs, I felt like I didn't get to experience the full game because it went by too fast even when finding them. I also wasn't sure, but were there audio clues? It seemed like the audio got louder the closer I got to the frogs, if so that's a nice touch and helps contribute to the theme.

On the bottom side by Jasuse 2023-10-15T15:12:59Z

I am sad that it's so easy to die, the mood and idea is great here but can't fully enjoy it because your character can die just by pushing a block and having it fall back on you. I think having it so you can maybe throw or move the blocks around with your mouse to get a 360 degree movement would help instead of just pushing forward (just an opinion.). Again, honestly liked the idea and mood and silliness the game was going for just the gameplay can be rough.

Grandma's Garden by MiniBetrayal 2023-10-15T15:43:19Z

You should have a picture or something to show what this game looks like, I had no idea what to expect before playing it. Good job having so much content for a Compo game, I didn't expect that many items or variety. I played till I lost and I think I got to 42 points, the theme shows itself when you start to run out of room but like alot of other people have said the game takes too long to get going. Again, lot more depth than I was expecting and pretty fun, just slow at the beginning.

Firebounded by tucan 2023-10-03T23:48:50Z

I liked the idea of the story alot, a paper character surrounded by it's weakness, really cool. I think everyone has really said everything else, unique idea but controls and waiting can be a pain. But, I beat it and level 3 is my favorite, was fun when the flow of the game was working.

Crowded Mind by rsheepdv 2023-10-03T23:23:50Z

I played it till the end, that last paper is dirty :P. The look and environment of this game is it's best quality, I also liked the eyes and slowdown as a mechanic, reminds me of Call of Duty honestly when you're hurt. But it was tough to beat this game, it was confusing to understand that the toy was something to pick up and put down, and I had control issues with breathing when near the toy (which made it hard to avoid the dark even more). I know you ran out of time and other people have said it, but this game is screaming for music and sounds, that would've pushed the mood even further.

Loopopera by torte478 2023-10-06T00:51:19Z

I am surprised by this one, I didn't expect much especially since the gameplay is pretty simple but once the loop starts it becomes much more interesting. I try to be honest instead of just praising everything when I play peoples games, the environment was decent but I wasn't impressed by much else BUT I did like your use of the theme! Alot of people seemed to be using small areas that are just small, you did something different and it worked well and I liked it. I also liked how there was more than 1 music track AND the chase sequence at the end was done very well, I felt the danger and those things are tough to pull off when making a game in such a short time.

Re: Charge by polyforma42 2023-10-08T01:55:54Z

I beat the game, not bad for a game made in 2 days. It would've been cool if headshots were a thing and maybe a reload button. Everyone already said everything else, I agree the mood is the best part of this and it's simple gameplay is fun.

Sheep in Wolf's Clothing by ottos 2023-10-05T00:32:11Z

I really liked how you taught people how to play at the start, not instructions just having them do the action which leads to them learning. I do wish there was more to do puzzle-wise than just pushing blocks. I got both endings and I am reminded of Harvest Moon: Back to Nature or Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, there was a TV show you could watch that had a demon trying to romance a princess haha. Nice graphics, nice music, decent writing. I liked how the sheep would just "bah" after being possessed, that was actually funny.

Airpansion by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2023-10-04T23:55:17Z

@random-storykeeper Thanks alot, I appreciate the in-depth respond and playing it all the way through. I try hard to play everyone's game all the way through and give it alot of attention since that's what I would like people to do with my game and I feel like you've done that, so thanks. It's tough to tell whether people enjoyed your game since everyone's trying to be nice, but I hope you did have some genuine enjoyment with the world and thought it was "heartwarming", also indeed, the ending and bad collisions was me running out of time haha. Thanks.

@benisu For the story of the game or reasoning for cleaning the air, I did think about it...but didn't really know what I wanted it to be. I figured maybe so wild life could come live there, I decided against having it be where the main character would live...so yeah, I guess I did leave it kinda blank haha.

And I have noticed for some reason the picking up items is a problem, not sure why...I blame Unity and not me haha jk.

Schrödinger's Cat: The Game by Gecko64 2023-10-17T00:53:53Z

I played till the end as well, not bad for a second game. I am surprised by the choice of the Schrödinger’s Cat lol. This game was pleasant, simple but pleasant. I had some fun, however I agree that I'd like a ramping up in difficulty, maybe tougher puzzles, enemies, something to feel like you're progressing and the game getting harder. The other small thing I didn't care for was the menu navigation having to switch between mouse and keyboard, it didn't feel natural using only the keyboard for the main menu then using only the mouse for level select.

O-Line by m0zrat 2023-10-14T20:42:16Z

More depth than I expected honestly, cute graphics and I liked the music. My only 2 things I would've liked to see, maybe not so hard at the beginning since that felt almost tougher than some of the later parts. The other thing is maybe a little delay before they tackle you and a tackle animation, that way you get a chance to roll out of the way (and it'd feel more like football instead of just a hit box). Again, I was surprised there was some depth like actual waves of guys coming at you and not just randomly spawning here and there, I liked that.

Red Zone by TheCaptainBuster 2023-10-17T00:32:41Z

I almost beat the first level, I feel bad not playing more of it but I am guessing the fruit randomly spawns at different locations? So it makes it tough to find each fruit every play through, it becomes more about luck. Good first entry though, I like the shaking of the screen the most when attacking. You don't have to worry about playing my game unless you want to, I already have enough votes :D

Claustrophobia by NoobGeek 2023-10-08T22:00:09Z

That was more fun than I expected, I think it was confusing to have no indicator you needed to open the diagram and it would've been nice to have more characters than just the 1 same girl getting stuck haha. I would've liked to seen a point system as well, bonus points for doing it faster. But the loop was fun and the music fit well to make it seem like you were rushing and pressed for time. Simple and fun.

Frozen Shelter by Nomiki 2023-10-08T02:47:01Z

I am really glad I found and tried this game! I don’t typically play games like this but the artwork brought me in…I liked how it was turn based, I like how different characters had personalities and backstory, and again the art was really nice and brought you into this world, also the gameplay loop was good. It reminds me of an apocalyptic Oregon Trail. I think any of the gripes I’d have with this game is because you guys didn’t have more time, I would’ve liked to know who wanted to join my party before saying yes, and obviously more events. I bookmarked this page and will try to follow you guys to see if you continue making this game, like I said, I had fun and glad I played it.

Shadow's Edge by octahedron 2023-10-18T22:41:43Z

Graphics are like out of a kids book, nicely done, almost look illustration worthy. I was able to make it to the end of level 2 from 2 different paths but nothing happens, guessing the end? I didn't like the controls that much, I wasn't able to jump if too close to walls. I also like your use of theme, stands out compared to others and definitely feels like a good take on the theme.

LD55 — Summoning

Graphic-All by recursor 2024-04-22T21:57:21Z

I really liked the movement in this game, I think most people default to making keyboard arrow keys, so I liked how it was something different. I think it controlled well but was a little tough during that big circle stage. I read how the difficulty was supposed to be applied to the punching but I did find that frustrating since I wasn't always sure WHERE the punch hitbox would be. I really liked the graphics and sounds, very lighthearted and fun. I am not sure if the people we are summoning are being saved or kill? lol, but again I liked this game. And dang, I just read this was a compo game, so very nice.

SOME-MAN by OhFiddleDiddle 2024-04-28T23:29:34Z

Pretty cute game, I think the intro went on a little too long but good variety with gameplay, decent voice acting and humor as well. For some reason I thought this was a compo game, I would've lost my mind if this had been compo since there's no way someone can make this in 2 days lol.

Wonder Whistle by Ismael Rodriguez 2024-04-20T20:13:15Z

I always try to play and game you and 1 other user's games. I said it last time I think, this is the only game that feels finished. Polished so much that you don't have to look over the flaws or think (it's a jam game). Very simple and straight forward. And I don't think the story is an issue, it's just a game and needed a simple premise. I feel like the girl is a tease and then at the end gets what's coming to her by all the blocks surrounding her lol. My only problem is what was mentioned before, it really isn't clear that some blocks can/can't be moved. That's the only issue. Nice work.

Shenanigans at Schmendy's by Cope 2024-04-21T15:17:42Z

Cute game, I liked the mood and graphics the best. Little too simple gameplay though, I think having an upgrade system between levels would've made it more replayable and engaging.

Aphantasia by Bitlytic 2024-04-28T23:06:16Z

Really like the use of theme on this, summon stuff from the imagination. Controls weren't that intuitive at first but I really think a game like this has alot of potential, it reminds me of a Boy and His Blob. I probably am not saying anything other people haven't already said, but I just wanted to say I liked the theme use alot and more of this game would be fun I think...Music was great. And good atmosphere as well, not just magic like alot of others.

Call of the Woof by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2024-04-16T02:38:24Z

@aditigro @lixuehan @sicosiber @xanagear That was just a test upload, THE REAL game is finished now. I hope you will try it again and review it properly.

Thanks!

Double...post

Call of the Woof by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2024-04-16T02:53:39Z

@timidger You need to click the "Next" button at the beginning. Hold left mouse button for a few seconds to hear where dogs are at.

Thanks.

Call of the Woof by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2024-04-16T21:40:57Z

@dywanix @srslie @timidger What browser are you guys using? I'd say try again and see if it works, I haven't run into this problem yet but feel bad other people are :(.

@brainrottedven In the area where you find the last dog, bottom right is exit that lead to ending scene.

Call of the Woof by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2024-04-16T22:09:56Z

@timidger really appreciate you taking the time for this. Helps out if we can narrow the bug down.

Call of the Woof by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2024-04-16T22:26:51Z

@dannyk1994 What browser are you using? I never have gotten this problem, I'm trying to figure out where the bug is at

The Grand Summoner ... of Lifts by Arti Dev 2024-04-20T19:40:39Z

Ela.png

This game put a smile on my face, the simplicity of it is great. It reminds me of a Wario Ware mini game haha. The only big problem I have, it's kinda visually not engaging, it would've been cool to maybe have a TV on the wall showing inside the elevator with people freaking out the faster it got. But seriously, I enjoyed this for what it was.

Winds of Change by Zamizmi 2024-04-20T19:48:13Z

I like the mood of this game for only 2 days. I really liked the camera zoom out at the beginning, nice touch! Gameplay reminds me of Burger Time meets Donkey Kong. Screen wrap was nice as someone else mentioned. I get you only had 2 days but music and sound would've been so nice to add to the mood of the game. Good work otherwise.

bergs by burnttoastdev 2024-04-17T01:23:27Z

I quite liked this, I played all the levels but I did think level 3 was hard/unclear since I don't recall any explanation for the Berg's being different sizes. I think you used the theme really really well, the summoning feature is was makes the game fun and involves no magic lol. You guys got quite a bit of bang for your buck with that summon feature. Reminds me of a 3DS e-shop game from back in the day. Good work.

Witch's Wrath by Timidger 2024-04-20T19:17:21Z

Decent first game man. Nice work knowing to add sound and music, it's tough making a game by yourself so adding anything like that adds to the experience and polish. The gameplay loop was satisfying but little too easy. Good job.

The Fish Summoner by ScrivenerOfLight 2024-04-20T19:27:37Z

Favorite thing about this game is the mood, it's got a nice vibe to it. Looks like you already got a lot of feedback, the only suggestion I have is maybe have ASFD and JKL; be the notes to play. I think that'd feel more natural for playing on a PC keyboard. Just an idea, I could be wrong lol.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Apple Snake by johnbrynte 2024-10-09T02:22:05Z

I liked the length idea of going from apple to apple, cool idea. Cute graphics as well, the only thing missing is sounds/music. But I understand, only so much time.

Bunny Wrangler by thomz12 2024-10-09T16:25:31Z

That was cute, good graphics and liked the different hats lol. Nice presentation overall, good work guys.

Little Pecker by Rohun 2024-10-19T17:38:51Z

Really simple yet complete game. Visuals were great and sounds/music great as well. Upgrade games are always fun. Only thing I would've liked to see different was the way you get points for upgrades, it was a little confusing having your health and points for upgrades linked together, I would've liked those to be separate or more easily explained. Great game though!

Peculiar Pickings by Dis0rder 2024-10-09T04:29:47Z

I bookmarked your page, seeing your posts got me interested and I just checked back to see the game. Would've liked to see what it would've been as you envisioned at the beginning but time of course. The only real thing I wanna use to summarize this game experience would be...Eraserhead lol

1D-Puzzle by A.Bond 2024-10-18T23:03:03Z

I beat it, it was satisfying playing and testing to get the desired results. It was mostly just trial and error since I wasn't smart enough to plan out every win lol. I like the simplify of this. As other people said adding a creature or character would've helped this be more engaging. Music/sounds would've been nice but since it's a compo game I understand.

Checkmite by Roitchie 2024-10-09T20:30:44Z

First thing that stood out was the blurring effect showing distance, that was a nice touch. Pretty short and sweet game, but the simplicity of watching the battles playout is good for someone that wants something more casual. The only real thing I wanted was battle music during the gameplay.

Checkmite by Roitchie 2024-10-11T22:32:25Z

@theoconfidor Sorry! I just loaded the game again and hear the music for the main game, don't know if my volume was too low or something glitched. Haha

Incredible, really nice.

Microadventure by cagibi 2024-10-09T04:11:02Z

Damn, that's nice for a compo game, they should highlight that better. I love platformers and this was pretty fun and definitely impressive for a compo game. Niiice graphics and really really liked how you control the character at the beginning to start the game, way better than saying "press start". Main character reminds me of Gish, lol. And the cheese parts coming out remind me of Sonic. Goooood work on this.

Tiny Creatures: A Nimkip Story by T C 2024-10-09T21:54:49Z

Glad someone made a Pokemon game, I was surprised to not find one during the "Summon" LD last time lol. Pretty decent game, I like the idea of battling and pet raising. I tried 3 different playthroughs and got to the 4th battle I believe then lost. Sorry I didn't make it to the end. Music was the main thing I thought was missing.

Swirlymon: Spiral Out of Control! by Corrupt Spaghetti 2024-10-24T01:52:51Z

I liked the click and point style of the game. It was cool seeing the cards get their monsters once you gave them the right items. Decent little game, wanted music and sounds though. Would've been cool to hear each monster make a sound once you collected them. Also, nice having a beginning and end to the game.

Moldable Monster of Mine by She Wrote 2024-10-14T19:29:42Z

I had fun with this, I think there's a good mechanic here. It could be fleshed out into something bigger I feel like. I liked the simple visuals and nice work with having at least some sounds.

Timukin Explorers by Thoastbot 2024-10-10T17:49:55Z

I think you posted a picture of this game on the front page and that's why I played it, I played it and beat it. Graphics and mood are the best thing this game has going for it. The downside is it's a little tough to figure out how to play even with reading instructions, and I think there are too many options/collectibles. It's tough making games for these events, everyone wants to just rush through them but like I said I played it all the way. In my opinion just needed less collectibles and more clarity.

Goo Patrol by Mateu 2024-10-09T16:04:58Z

That was a cute game, intro graphics were really nice. I enjoyed the music alot actually, it fit the mood well. I liked how the ending had them wearing hats and whatnot, I know I won't understand the meaning but I liked it.

I'm Next! by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2024-10-08T16:33:14Z

@oxropy Thanks for playing, I purposely let players win with any of the creatures. I was afraid people would just give up and not remember they needed the Queen. As you know, people don't always put much effort into playing each others games and I wanted as many people to beat the game as possible.

I'm Next! by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2024-10-09T03:13:46Z

@pious What do you mean game juice, squish, and stretch?

I'm Next! by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2024-10-09T03:19:04Z

@spirits Thanks a lot for actually playing it to the end. Regarding that last stage, did you use the Red explosion at the top and still beat the stage?

Lost Microbiom by Big Cyckos 2024-10-14T18:30:16Z

I beat the game, mood was the best thing this game has going for it.

I agree, it was a little confusing figuring out the rope mechanic. I figured it out that the longer you hold the button the more straight it goes, but I would've probably preferred just shooting in the direction you were aiming with the mouse instead of having any gravity. Music and sounds fit the game well enough as well.

Misfit's Daycare by RobotChimp 2024-10-09T04:58:02Z

I had a little difficulty figuring out the food as well. But thanks to Nikku explaining it more, I got it. Nice polish, beginning and end. Decent time management game, legit scare when the creature turned into a monster lol.

Shrimple by Ron88 2024-10-17T22:41:04Z

Daaaamn, this was delightful. I love platformers and want more from this, nice transformations/abilities. Nice humor and mood as well. Yeah, had alot of fun with this and would like to play more.

MiteBlaster by marleeeeeey 2024-10-09T02:31:36Z

Fun game, has a start, finish, and decent gameplay loop. Music is nice fit and nicely made along with fun graphics. Wish the game had a full screen mode and for some reason it kept stopping my movement, that may have been because my mouse went off the game screen. Fun stuff.

Mission: Runaway by LouieWu 2024-10-10T16:26:29Z

I beat it, buuuuuuuut damn. How'd you make these level designs? They're legit puzzles and get tough, which is impressive. Decent game with a cool spin that used the theme well. Nice graphics and mood too, nice work you 2.

Taste Tour -- A Wonderful Adventure of a Tiny Little Toast by ShallowKong 2024-10-17T23:14:22Z

I beat the game, I like most others liked the characters/world you guys created. But I was frustrated with no explanation of controls and being thrown into a very quick death for the first stage. The vines were very unforgiving as well, wasn't clear what their attack range was. And the collisions and double jump gave me issues many times, not bad at all for a first game jam and fun characters/world.

Tiny H.O.C.'s Pro Creator by ltostes 2024-10-09T18:53:03Z

Pretty cute game, nice music and graphics. Played for awhile, the only thing I didn't understand if there was a order they grow/evolve in. Nice interface as well, again cute game.

Cell Hell by VanLou 2024-10-09T02:46:11Z

Solid game, played it a few times.

The only thing I wish it had was maybe have the shield recharge faster each time you collect a virus. That'd make the later stages feel more like you're being rewarded and more incentive to keep collecting.

Nice work.

Creatures CORY by CindySheep 2024-10-17T20:17:04Z

Mood is the best part of this game, my Dad overheard the music and said it was catchy lol. Good gameplay mechanic, I beat the game. Nice idea having collectibles in the stages. I found it a little tough to move the puzzle pieces around, other than that it was good.

LD57 — Depths

Potato Planet Driller by Corbak 2025-04-14T17:29:00Z

I know the music wasn't yours, but it was a good fun pick to match the gameplay style and graphics. I mainly wish there was a tutorial or the game teaches you how to play by playing it, it took a minute to understand what was going on. The mood/environment is this games strongest feature, the dog creature is unique. And I imagine it'd be a lot of fun with 3 other players, I kinda feel like I shouldn't review it since I couldn't experience it as intended but I gave a score that's fair I think, imagining having friends to play with lol.

Puppeteer by benskca 2025-04-17T20:49:44Z

Damn, impressive for a compo game. I'd say more, but everyone has already commented enough lol

Time PANIC by Maxwell3000 2025-04-08T20:15:32Z

Definitely would've liked a little how to play/instructions box to appear at the start, reading how to play while the game is already starting was rough. I had some fun and beat the game, I was actually impressed with the warp speed graphical change. Lastly, I would've liked the phase button to maybe be it's own dedicated button/physical button, maybe the right-mouse button but that's just a personal want.

Grimm Syndrome by Missfire 2025-04-10T15:42:47Z

Little long for a jam game, but it kept me mostly engaged. Very nice art, the organizing part had me confused the second time since I figured I'd be putting things back to the original way but you did say to organize it by color and size. Definitely an impressive game. The music and idea remind me of To The Moon and Finding Paradise games, not saying you took inspiration from them just mentioning them in case you haven't heard of them, they're also story driven games with decent background music.

Voidwood by Tobius 2025-04-11T03:00:35Z

So I just played it and died at what I believe is the literal ending, I'll beat it though. But yeah, my mouth was actually open when I understood what was going on in this game, visually very nice and music is great too. Simple gameplay mechanic that's really cool and unique, I feel like this game would've been really cool on a Nintendo DS, looking back and forth between screens to follow different vines. Really nice separation between each water location, didn't feel cheated. The main 3 problems I had with this, there isn't a tutorial or a way the game teaches you how to play naturally (like how Mario or Megaman X teaches), it just starts and you gotta figure it out. The length of each section seems longer than needed, I wasn't sure if it was an endless loop until I reached the transition. Annnd in the transition, I was not sure at all what was friendly and what was dangerous and lost all but 1 root. I was impressed with this game, for real.

Voidwood by Tobius 2025-04-11T13:56:44Z

Heeeeell yeah, ain't no one beating this. Really crazy to see all the roots going but up at the end, again impressive stuff.

Screenshot 2025-04-11 095507.png

Criminal deep dreams by Natahan 2025-04-22T18:46:44Z

I bookmarked your page during the jam from seeing your posts, so I could check this out. I liked this, you put alot of effort into the backgrounds even. The lighting (the way it would switch to red sometimes) was cool too. Matched the theme well, going deeper into someone's mind. It really needed music and sounds though to match the mood this game was putting out. Decent game

Clean Down by torte478 2025-04-17T17:07:55Z

Impressive for 48 hours, I thought it was a Jam game. I did find it fun and very frustrating (in a good way) to be cleaning the mess but then accidently making the mess lol. I think having each area cut off until it was clean enough would help, since players are probably just going to clean enough to move on and not get 100%. And I was not a fan of the way dirty mop and dirty water worked together, I kinda wished the water wouldn't ever get dirty because it felt more like a chore having to get clean water after JUST cleaning the mop, again my personal take. Again, good game, unique and interesting. Not something you see every game doing.

Also I left this game on my PC for a few days and planned on coming back to beat it, so no one will beat my time. Screenshot 2025-04-17 125802.png

Sky Fisher by Kerioth 2025-04-18T02:43:08Z

I was mostly impressed by the visuals, very nice. It looked like the main platform was 2D but it appears to be a 3D object that can be rotated somewhat. The music, I think the fishing music matches really well and is good. I might try to collect everything tomorrow, I got about half right now.

It depends on the type of game you were wanting to make, but I would've liked to have a timer or more consequence for the fishing part, like losing the fish more easily. I think collecting the items would've been cool if they did stuff, like made your casting bar area bigger for the rarer fish. But again, that depends if you were trying to make that type of game or a more relaxing one.

Depths of Strength by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2025-04-08T22:50:55Z

@pe4q07 @slyz @nojoule, it's there now. Game breaking bug was found and I needed to fix it, hopefully game doesn't crash anymore.

Depths of Strength by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2025-04-10T16:11:47Z

@batthecat Thanks for the extra detailed insight....................

Depths of Strength by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2025-04-11T02:47:38Z

@tobius thank you so much for actually giving feedback, I feel like everyone just rushes through peoples games and doesn't critique it enough. I agree 100%, the working out part just doesn't play well, I only realized this when it was too late lol. I'll try and repay the favor of actually giving feedback, thanks again.

Depths of Strength by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2025-04-17T16:30:23Z

@miroreflect thanks for playing. I tried to make it so if you attack with both a strength and weakness it'd even out and if you attacked with the same element it'd compare them and see if you had higher attack, then it adds it altogether. It could be a train wreck and not work properly lol, it seems to work but I was mostly concerned with people just being able to beat the game.

And yeah, I would've liked to add different starts for attack/defend based on who is faster and also make the enemy change their defense/attack RIGHT BEFORE attacking so you have to try and change quickly too. I am happy with some of the stuff in the game, but like always time was the enemy.

The Altermind Project by MatthewDrake 2025-04-10T15:18:22Z

I was a little disappointed the ending was kinda ChatGPT clone, I was hoping for something more like an actual representation of someone, then they tried to kill me or knew something deep about me like my social security number haha. I did like the mood and nice work with the camera motion/movements like when meeting the cat, helped with the immersion. Woudl've liked more music too, that would've helped with the immersion too.

The Altermind Project by MatthewDrake 2025-04-10T19:16:48Z

@matthewdrake Ooooh, so we missed the joke lol. I did feel the tension building and was excited, it felt like it was trying to build up to something. But I didn't realize it was supposed to be deflating. If you had like...a Commodore 64 with eyes and a monitor showing that text, I think that would given the idea the AI wasn't super serious...and I realize it's a game jam, there isn't enough time to make any of this stuff perfect so I'm not trying to nitpick.

GUTS! by Jack12342 2025-04-09T02:12:43Z

This is a really really good use of the theme, highest I've rated a game in theme so far. Camera was way too touchy and controls while sliding didn't feel like I had enough control, but good work not giving me game over for touching bad guys. Last thing I would've liked to seen a shadow under the food as you jumped.

There Is A Light by n1evsky 2025-04-18T16:36:36Z

I beat it, mood was it's strongest rating for me with it's lighting and colors. Would've liked music and more gameplay. Nice work on having a beginning, gameplay, and end to your game.

Cave Escape by Flinge 2025-04-08T22:57:46Z

Really liked the music most of all, catchy. I thought it was kinda fun, I didn't like how you only get 1 try and that the monster could instantly kill you if you got a bigger jump, no time to react. It would've been cool to have power-ups and extra lives, but perhaps that's not the type of game you want this to be.

Breachy Sub by UpsettiGames 2025-04-09T02:01:55Z

Wow, that was compo game? Damn, I liked this game alot. Graphics are the only not great part, but controls are great and length of game wouldn't of surprised me if this took 3 days to make instead of 2. Reeeally liked the sounds effects and I feel like you planned things properly like making sure the game progressed and pointing out stuff where a player might get stuck. Gish! This reminds me a little of Gish. AND, super glad the enemies didn't respawn lol. Again, good work.
