Really cool take on the theme!

Was pretty neat to see how all the stuff came together in the end to make the "ai", nice work!

A very unique idea for a game. It has a nice visual novel vibe.

The music is very quiet, I could barely hear anything even on 100% system loudness.

I liked the questions because they made you think about important things. I expected something different from the ending but still think the mechanics are good. Thanks for your game!

baldurs 2025-04-08 13:15

I like this game cause it's so unique and not at all what I expected to find on a game jam. Really great work

stratcat66 2025-04-08 13:25

That was a quite interesiting experience. I first thought you would only be confronted with the questions (and some of them really made me think for a while), but also the chat at the end was well done.

Very unique idea but I was expecting better from the "AI" responses at the end after all the messages leading up to it, haha.

dylan-shumway 2025-04-08 23:33

Very calming take on the theme! I've found these sorts of personality quiz games interesting to see how people try and work out your inner quirks, and you picked a fun set of questions to do so. Well done!

broco 2025-04-09 03:33

Nice contemplation game! Having you question yourself about some simple questions we don't ask ourselves often, and the fear of AI replacing us.

I didn't really understand the design of things, but I liked the art. Some animations are a bit slow tho, like getting close to the fire.

This is not my kind of games, so I just answered silly stuff, and ended up with a very funny ending

It's like looking in a mirror 🤣

vladimperator 2025-04-09 19:49

That's nothing what I would expect from a jam game. Very unique experience and a well made one at that. It made me rethink some stuff.

pro4 2025-04-09 22:39

Pretty interesting experience and I got a good chuckle out of the ending. I think we might be safe for a little bit longer from my alter ego.

Cool idea and nice execution!

cammyrnn 2025-04-10 02:56

The questions were nice and thought provoking. I wish there was a little more to the art and sound design though. Also the ai is so funny lol :) Screenshot 2025-04-09 215207.png

I really like the mood that was built up over the course of the game. Definitely something different from a lot of other submissions. The writing was very good, with some vivid imagery and thought provoking questions. I thought the ending was a bit obvious in the way it was using your typed responses, but overall very cool concept for a game.

fantastic use of the theme, extremely immersive, without a doubt it kept me curious throughout the run... pretty cool!!!!

tosmaster 2025-04-10 15:13

A great and introspective game! Cool graphics and great atmosphere! I was intrigued with the promise and really liked the finale. Great game that will stay with me for a long time. Now reading the comments, I guess it really hit the spot for me. :)

beeb-gamecodecompany 2025-04-10 15:18

I was a little disappointed the ending was kinda ChatGPT clone, I was hoping for something more like an actual representation of someone, then they tried to kill me or knew something deep about me like my social security number haha. I did like the mood and nice work with the camera motion/movements like when meeting the cat, helped with the immersion. Woudl've liked more music too, that would've helped with the immersion too.

Aww this is one of the most innovative entries I've played, I had plenty of fun, even knowing that it's just a game, having to answer personal questions like that can feel therapeutic. One of my favorite things in this game was the anticipation build up, the whole time I was getting more and more curious about what will happen at the end, will the game try to create something based on my input? do you use actual AI api to create a character? etc...

I would've loved to see something a bit more... I guess cool as the ending but that's me and my high expectations, or perhaps you and your immersive use of expectation management as a tool. Anyway, I had a lot of fun playing this game.

@yubs @baldurs Thanks for your feedback, really glad you enjoyed the game!

@flying-dog-fish I'm glad you enjoyed it! Sorry about the sound, I realised too late that it was only clearly audible to me because I was playing it through my headphones. When I tried it through my speakers after the deadline I suddenly realised how quiet it was, I'll have to make sure to start adding audio earlier next year.

@stratcat66 @red @pro4 @keeta @tosmaster @beeb-gamecodecompany @0x-void-x0 Thanks for your comments about the ending. I wanted to build a growing sense of dread and anticipation and then go for an anti-climax by discovering the bot you've been 'building' this whole time is... that. One of the earliest versions of a chatbot, and certainly not intelligent. I tried to make it a moment of confusion, then relief, but emptiness too (which I think was influenced by some narrative games I've been playing lately.)

That being said, I do kind of wish I had found a way to have the answers affect the bot a bit more, even if it was just giving it a slightly different personality/way to say the lines. I think if I were to expand this into a full game this would just be the opening, then maybe it would continue with you exploring the island in a way that properly used your answers to craft a more engaging narrative.

I'd really love to do more with this idea since I feel like I haven't really finished with it yet, there's still more to explore and try, but this was a great learning experience for me.

beeb-gamecodecompany 2025-04-10 19:16

@matthewdrake Ooooh, so we missed the joke lol. I did feel the tension building and was excited, it felt like it was trying to build up to something. But I didn't realize it was supposed to be deflating. If you had like...a Commodore 64 with eyes and a monitor showing that text, I think that would given the idea the AI wasn't super serious...and I realize it's a game jam, there isn't enough time to make any of this stuff perfect so I'm not trying to nitpick.

whiteseason 2025-04-10 21:56

A fun game idea! I really liked the vibe, and the ending was funny. I think one of the things I would add is more music, would really liven the game up. I also skipped a question accidentially in some places because of a double click. But overall, it was a cool experience!

deadbydeath 2025-04-12 07:52

Cool and weird experience I would say. In general, I liked it and the fact that is creeps you a bit is what makes it unique. Very nice interpretation of the theme! Good job!

senso 2025-04-16 04:35

Oh i like this totally unexpected. I love the twist in theme you did here. Super original and also fun thank you for this inspiration to make something different ! Great entry .

prvaak 2025-04-23 14:51

This was more intense experience than many horror games!

rubixnoob13 2025-04-24 11:28

A very unique take on the theme, and not like most things I've seen in Jams in the past. Great work!
