You need to click the "Zzz" button, then "Save and Continue". This starts the next day
Really interesting game idea. I unfortunately killed the tomato. I got curious to see what would happen if I didn't water him for a few days.
Nice idea, I like the MS-Paint art style :) I ran into a few bugs : when I accidentally clicked "Save and quit", I was unable to resume my progress when clicking "Continue" because the game froze. I had to refresh the page and start from the beginning. On day 11, on the tomato screen the dialogue wasn't read and the game froze again :(
It's also not very obvious that you can click on the bridge or fence to go there, some kind of thext or highlighting effect could have helped.
Besides that, it's a neat little concept!
Cool idea, sadly I also ran into the "Froze on Day 11 and no dialogue" bug (he looped through his talk animation while this happened). Apart from this, everything the player can do literally needs no real explanation since there aren't that many different objects to interact with.
@flubrio and @Sn4pi, I may have fixed the audio bug. I don't expect you guys to play it again unless you actually want to. Just a heads up and thanks for trying in the first place! I'll be checking your work out this weekend.
I sure did play it again and the ending plus the "special event" (no spoilers) in the middle was nice.
I think it would have been a cool impact if the player had the opportunity to just leave the tomato without harvesting it. Good job!
I like, style good, game interesting, not quite understand how fill water, plant grow, plant grow big, no news is good news, entry good. :tomato:
An interesting concept, but a little boring after a few days
I liked the turd that I found over the river
good idea for the game, reminding me a lot of "the annoying orange" on YT.
EDIT: I didn't rate Audio as I played on browser and no audio came through
the first time the tomato spoke was so funny, watering voice clips got a little repetitive. Wasn't too much going on but I still felt compelled to keep watering thiiisssss guy. Simple + sweet
My talking tomato is dead after 18 days ;( Nice tamagotchi like !
Nice idea! Very similar to my game in a way but way more playable! Congrats!
Loved it--This is probably the only game I've found with extensive voice acting, congrats! The audio probably would've benefitted from a pop filter, but the voice acting was very lively and made me chuckle a couple of times -- especially the lampshading line of "Kinda feels like I say the same things everyday..." Also for some reason the delivery of "More water. Greaat." killed me. I was doing a perfect run but was kind of excited to kill the tomato in a subsequent run, but then the (spoilers) happened and I was actually sad when I killed the tomato:( Played again to the end and had an enjoyable time playing! Thanks for this fun wholesome entry, good job!!!
Haha cool game! I must say that the graphics are not my taste though. The gameplay felt a bit repetitive. But then I remember that growing tomatoes usually are ^^" I loved the voice acting and the comments the tomato made! And the ending was pretty funny! First I thought the game would take a dark turn after the tomato said someting about getting stronger than me.
Other feedback: maybe you could have done a bit more with the woods. Some eastereggs for instance, or some additional bugs you needed to splat. Also, I thought to do a little experiment by not watering the tomato for 3 days, thinking it would beg for water or something. I was surprised that there was a tombstone there so fast! Maybe you could have made the tomato beg for water 1 day before dying
I had fun playing yours!
@pauljs @cat-chef @wouter52 Thanks guys for playing my game! I'll try and give yours all a go. I'm glad some of you enjoyed the actual talking, I knew this wasn't going to be a game that would standout for the graphics or coding, I was hoping the audio would help it standout.
I played to the end. I feel like the tomato is a good friend now so felt awfully guilty on harvest day. All very Charlotte's web but with a mean alternative ending  Love it. Speech is really funny and it's a very imaginative idea. Great job.
@beeb-gamecodecompany it absolutely did make it stand out for me! Your delivery and comedic timing were exceptional, and the quantity of dialogue implemented without bugs is a huge achievement. Hope to see more voice acting in future games c:
Cool game! I found the watering mechanic a bit annoying on laptop but the comedy was on point! Art work was hilarious and once I worked the game play out it was a nice light play through :) Didn't encounter any of the bugs mentioned above but I only played through once.
Cute little game and while it didn't have much gameplay to speak of i did find myself playing through the whole 30 days si i gyess it worked haha. The voice fits the tomato so well somehow.
Nice idea with some cool elements going for it, just a bit rough on the execution 😅 I think 30 days were too many for the amount of variation/events provided, making a lot of it feel like filler. Maybe a few really focussed days would've been better.
Props for the voice acting! Wish there were other sounds/music too. Going between screens and getting water from the river and so on felt intuitive and I didn't need instructions 👍 I liked the little newspaper and the drought was a great mechanic.
Bugs didn't seem to do anything if you ignored them? In general it seemed very hard to lose without trying (which I tried after beating the game the first time) and even then you were able to water your tomato back into life after turning into a tombstone haha 👀
Good foundation that could grow into something quite neat with a bit more time spent 🌱🍅
I actually like the derpy ms-paint style! I'm not crazy about losing control and needing to wait while Tom talks to me before I water him. I also feel like the act of watering, progress day, water, progress, isn't very fun and just feels like repetitive busy work. VO's were a nice touch of character. Good job!
