web version didnt load for me :(
Cool!
The physics of grabbing those creatures feel sooo good. I like how many varients is possible, this feels like a good mini game to leave on the desktop and come back every now and then to check in on the creatures. I wasn't sure how to get new varients though, it felt like the only thing I could do was wait for the eggs to hatch and hope they're a new varient.
@dressorc we're trying to get the build working, not sure why it doesn't load, but same for me. @allenw thank you for the feedback! <3 to get new variants if you don't have the "genes" in the "gene pool" you have to purchase a new egg from the store (right side) and just hope that RNGeezus favors you hehe
Tiny little creatures make me smile.
Web version did not load :( The download worked fin though, was a cool game
Congrats on creating such a unique and quirky game! ç
@dressorc @larrymartinjr managed to get the web version working at itch.io if you'd like to try! :)
it's a nice idea, but it would have been nice to have something else to do during the game! Still GG
for me the webversion worked! cute tiny creatures :)
Pretty cute game, nice music and graphics. Played for awhile, the only thing I didn't understand if there was a order they grow/evolve in. Nice interface as well, again cute game.
I really enjoyed playing this game. It's fun to watch, although it seems a little tricky to get them to breed. Overall, it was a great game!
I love the cute creatures. Dragging them around felt nice. It was hard to get the correct traits though, especially with the time limit. Really fun and relaxing game overall!
interesting and fun , good entry
Super chill game, love it! and feels polished and finished, which is rare with these. Really well done! You also managed to recreate the feeling of accidentally hitting your dog in MC by adding the ability to toss them out of the cage :(
@mk-dustan omg, that is so true, although not intended
I’ve got some feedback as well. I really enjoy the visuals and overall vibe of the game. It’s cute, calming, and positive. It’s the first time I’ve seen a realistic background paired with stylized sprites, and I absolutely love the way it looks. The mechanics are refined. Great job!
Vibe of this game was off the chart. I liked the tiny muscle creature... and the fact they always went to sleep have reproducing... highly accurate....
Umm.. I kept saying what cute creatures.. until time kept passing hahaha. Really enjoyed the arcade grabbing mechanics felt good! Great job
Super cute little guys. Was very slow paced, feels like it would be a good background app - something I could use as a desktop maybe. Like a real terrarium!
Great physics, and I looked the peaceful vibe of the game. Relaxing yet addictive!
Loved the creature designs and the variety! PLayed it for a while, it´s very addictive. However I´d love to have more options of things to buy at the shop in order to upgrade the cage/tank. Can´t stop playing, though!
What a relaxing little terrarium sim. I liked how the H.O.C.s had personality and sass with the emotions they showed :joy: I'm kind of scared to ask what a H.O.C. is  Keep on making games!
The general concept of having little dudes interbreeding to make more variety of little dudes is great. It works fine to some degree, I was able to create some strange creatures, although not always those I wanted.
Weakest part for me is UI, shop/inventory and lack of explanations, but I understand there is never enough time. I didn't understand what makes the "order" for the creature worth, I didn't get why which features will the child get, didn't get why you have to spawn the meat in the middle of the screen and then activate it. Buying only horizontal platform is often worthless as little dudes tend to jump off them :(
Overall, despite my complaining, very solid entry
Thanks for the kind words so far everyone, we're very happy people have been enjoying the vibe <3 <3
@frozenfire92 the meaning of H.O.C. is still largely up to debate, the scientific community apparently is still investigating, there are many candidates... Hugely Optimistic Creatures, Hasty Offspring Creators, Haphazardly Organized Creatures, among others :)
@haayaargh thank you for the feedback, all doubts and constructive criticism are very welcome. We have worked on a post compo version that addresses a couple of the points you have raised, but mostly it boils down to what we were able to do in the time available. Once again though, thank you for your remarks, it certainly points towards things we should/could improve!
Nice artwork, interesting game concept, some cute creature designs. Really nice little game you've made here. It would be nice if there were some more in-game explanations as to what is going on as I was very confused at first. I struggled to figure out what the different bars meant, and what the shop items were. Even with this minor drawback however, I still appreciated what you've made and it's very good (no obvious bugs or crashes either) for something where you only had a weekend to make it. Keep making games!
Nice little pet sim. It was a bit confusing for a while but I did eventually pick up what was going on. Great work.
Very cool game! We ended up making something similar - including bonuses for selling things with specific characteristics. Was particularly impressed with all of the different variations in characteristics of the HOCS smoothly animated. The sound design was also spot-on.
Took me a little bit to figure things out, as I hadn't read the full description before playing the game. The main thing I missed as a result was the importance of buying new eggs to diversify the gene pool. The use of all of the other items was intuitive to me, though the costs felt a little steep. I also really wanted something to speed up the incubation of eggs - I don't _think_ the bed helped with that, but I wasn't certain.
I also never fully understood the ui elements on each HOC, particularly the circle and dot.
I also accidentally dropped a few HOCS off the side of the world. It probably led to an exciting adventure for them, but was frustrating for me.
@ninjavitis thanks for your feedback, I'll check out your game too (The Gegnome Project), intrigued to see your approach.
The UI elements weren't really well made, we would've liked to make it more diegetic, but there are 3 attributes represented there (energy, hunger and comfort) and an overall which is a combination of the 3. Didn't turn out great though, fully agree on that :)
The bed indeed doesn't help with incubation time, we also had the idea of adding an item to do just that, but also didn't have time to implement it.
I chuckled at the "exciting adventure" lol, but yeah, we're aware of that bug, managed to reduce the probability, but still happens... should probably add some kind of capture mechanism outside and teleport the HOC back into the terrarium.
Once again, thank you very much for playing and for your feedback. I'll check your game too :)
these creatures are too CUTE
Funky lil disturbing creatures! The sounds and mood is relaxing, casual mode. Breeding them was a bit tricksy, the 'goals' seemed a bit to random to really strive for something. It would also have been great if there were some in-game tooltips with info.
Nonetheless nice job!
@joror, absolutely! We spent most of the time on the mechanics and ended up with not enough time to tighten the game loop, that's also why we didn't make the game more self-explanatory/intuitive, but we're already working on improving these in our post-submission version!
Thank you for the feedback!
This game captured my heart  I will cheat on everyone else and say it's my most favorite one!
Amazing sound effects! Love the chill gaming experience, toying with them H.O.C's, feeding them sausages and punishing some for being little gluttons they are
Thank you for bringing this Pro Creation to my stream :)
