Really cute! Love the art and the music and how well it all fits together. Feels like I'm playing Pokemon Ranger again.

I love this game!

The game mecanic is very good, although I should try this on mobile because it's very hard to draw circles with a mouse! The graphics and audio are top notch, the game feels very polished with various levels, leaderboard, and a lot of "juice" everywhere.

I also love that you can catch several rabbits at once! This is a very risky move, but very rewarding when you manage to pull it off! This is an excellent idea, congrats!

This is a very solid entry without any real flaw IMHO. But if you are looking for suggestions, here is some minor stuffs: - I think the difficulty gap is a bit too hard between each level: easy is very easy (and it's good for beginners) while medium is already quite challenging, and i could finish hard even after several tries (those bunnies are jumping too fast!) maybe adding 5 difficulty levels instead of 3 would allow for a more progressive ramp up? - Maybe you could display the score during gameplay too? When I was attempting several times the easy level to try to get on the leaderboard, it was a bit frustrating to play "blind" and I didn't know how much I scored during each new attempts before the end.

I hope you release this on mobile, they would love it!

Stylus is kinda cheat for this game. Otherwise, it's really funny how such a simple idea turns into complex gameplay (for me)

plusonerabbit 2024-10-07 20:58

A minigame polished to perfection with a leaderboard to drive you to do better! Feels like it could've slotted in perfectly to the initial wave of ".io games" back when those first blew up.

memeric 2024-10-08 07:43

A cute game with a fair amount of challenge with each difficulty! The music really ties the western feel and cuteness together.

At first I didn't get that a "perfect" circle would give me more points, but as soon as I understood it was off to challenge the leaderboards!

super-hadoken 2024-10-09 15:33

Cute fun game. Nice graphics and polished gameplay. It turns out I can't draw circles very well.

tyrannas 2024-10-09 15:40

Nice little scoring game ! It's polished, good graphics and audio, and the leader boards are a real plus ! (always makes me wanna play more haha) gold in all three modes for now ! Only thing is I think it could be a bit harder. Didn't lose a single carrot even in hard mode I think there is room for a harder difficulty ! Anyway well played I had fun !

boodle 2024-10-09 15:42

Hard mode got so much more difficult than I expected, managed to snag the easy mode record at least by making a lot of really big circles, which I found easier to get perfect. That strategy... did NOT hold up.

Cool game, nice presentation, pretty unique mechanic!

beeb-gamecodecompany 2024-10-09 16:25

That was cute, good graphics and liked the different hats lol. Nice presentation overall, good work guys.

royrosta 2024-10-09 16:30

I enjoy this game so much, the hard mode is really hard and exilerating. Such simple gameplay can be so much fun and innovative, well done!

magopian 2024-10-09 17:21

Incredible game, so cute rabbits with their hats! I'm so curious how you compute the "circle-ness" of the rope! Congratulations

klaus-peter 2024-10-09 23:11

I see what you did there :D hehe.png

thomz12 2024-10-10 07:01

@magopian Thanks! Glad you liked it. Calculating the 'circle-ness' was a very interesting problem to solve.

If you're interested, this is what I ended up doing: - Calculate bounding box of all the points making up the rope and calculate the center - Find the `minimum` and `maximum` distance from the bounding box center to a point on the rope - Compare the minimum and maximum against some threshold

It would look something like this:

circle_calculation.png

A perfect circle would have `minimum` and `maximum` distance equal, as all points should be the same distance from the center in a circle. (`minimum / maximum = 1`)

In practice, perfect circle is impossible so we assigned thresholds to what we consider a good enough circles. Below is an example of a bad circle. The minimum and maximum distances differ greatly so we don't consider it circle enough. `minimum / maximum < circle threshold`

circle_calculation_triangle.png

It isn't perfect, but does a pretty good job I think. Below are some examples of it recognizing wrong shapes. We couldn't set the thresholds too high, as it would be frustrating to play.

Hope that explains it a bit, took me some experimenting to come up with something that worked well enough.

magopian 2024-10-10 09:42

Woah thank you so much for the detailed explanation, very clever, I’m impressed ! So glad you shared… might give me some ideas in the future <3

meep 2024-10-10 16:42

Really loved the art in this! I was similarly curious about how it determined how circular things were so I really appreciated the detailed explanation above :D

lereveur 2024-10-10 16:53

I like a lot this innovative concept, and the clever implementation (as you explained just above). It appears that I'm not very good with mouse-drawing in a hurry, like my bad scores demonstrates, but it was fun to play and those bunnies are very cute - good job!

sparklingsushi 2024-10-10 19:45

Simple and fun! Wanted to pass all 3 difficulties but hard was too hard for me : D Congratz!

anekich 2024-10-10 21:24

it's a very addictive game and the hard mode is a real challenge!

andreadbx 2024-10-10 22:59

Uuuuh, what a cute game! The mechanic is simple but with an insane level of polish! And the bunnies are sooo cute :D, and about the soundtrack... as an Italian i recognize that's a remix/rearrangement of the immortal The Good, the Bad and the Ugly theme by the master himself Ennio Morricone, only love :D

phyrocast 2024-10-10 23:21

A nice well made game! Love the implementation of the shape recognition, a very smart way to simplify the problem! Well done!

lllarso 2024-10-17 16:05

Played through all the three difficulty modes, but to my shame I have to admit that I failed at the highest difficulty. :P

Very cool gameloop with a nice core system (creating circles). I had fun doing it over and over. I have played it with my mouse, but I can imagine that it makes a lot of fun playing it with a pencil.

The music and the visuals fitted well together with the Western theme. Nice detail, that the upper counter goes away, when you're near to it with your mouse, so you can see the playing field.

Overall it is a very polished game and I think that three difficulties are enough. But the "easy mode" feels too easy in my opinion. You have 5 hearts (carrots) too lose and the bunnies are very slow in this difficulty.

Very nice, that you've put in a leaderboard for the three modes. Good job! :)

dekisenpaitm 2024-10-17 18:48

Thank you for stealing a whole hour of my life DDDDDD: 10/10! I only managed 3rd place D:<

This game is super cool! There were times when I would catch a bunny outside the hoop right as I finished, but that's fine. The main thing was that the hoop accuracy detection seemed maybe a little off. I created multiple hoops that, to me, seem about the same (maybe a little ovular) but only one worked.
