[spoilers below]

It's a game that keeps on giving, so far one of my favorite pieces of the jam.

The theme, absent at first, is quickly revealed in a wonderful way. Then the background slowly changing, and some new art elements...

Unfortunately, I believe I encountered a bug that prevents me from going forward. After dying, I got reincarned in a light bubble which does not respond to any known command. I hope you still have time for a quick fix!

I hope the girl is ok :( I jumped out after the third orb with the maze underground. The penalty for missing a jump is pretty high, it would be cool if it was not just walking but you have something other to do for the way. I really liked how the music and environment changed! Good job!

denvil 2023-10-02 19:15

Interesting take on the theme. I liked how the scenery changed slowly.

berk-utku-karadeniz 2023-10-02 20:09

Ohh i wanted to continue but i fell down the map when chasing started

gwen-dekker 2023-10-02 20:13

I got stuck after falling through the floor after the third orb. I kinda could see where it was going - I did enjoy seeing the scenery slowly change

gilborn 2023-10-02 21:08

Great mood and great sounds - How did you created your music? Really shocking was that there where dead ends - the first time I was really afraid to be stuck, but then I died and respawned... :-) Got stucked in my first run. Neat level design and arty graphic style! Loved the horror, the hunt, the ending... Great entry!

cleitoneldorn 2023-10-02 21:22

Great game! Really cool concept and interpretation.

jesus-gonzalez 2023-10-02 21:24

The "just take a step back" moment was really well executed and it complemented the Limited Space theme very gracefully.

Good music. Weak SFX but they still do the trick.

4/5

Love the spooky feeling. My favorite room was the one E Honda used for his finger painting practice. I feel like you definitely nailed what you were going for!

rezistor 2023-10-03 12:00

Interesting idea!

p-zzz 2023-10-04 02:42

The overall spooky mood is sooooo good! I really love the tree/hand graphics. I also love the music evolving with the story. Nicely done!

silkworm-sweatshop 2023-10-04 23:17

I love when I come across an entry that is so different from everything else. Great little narrative told through gameplay instead of words.

mathkarma 2023-10-05 10:56

Great idea ! Nice take on the theme, great job !

neowedge 2023-10-05 16:45

Very original experience, I love to found this kind of games in a jam, it's very refreshing :). The mood is impressive. Congrats!

woona 2023-10-05 17:55

Awesome game! I'm really glad I played it.

I think it conveys the feeling of being stuck, of your thoughts wandering in circles without any hope of breaking out of the loop. Unless you change your perspective and see the world from a different direction.

I don't really have any criticism, I loved the game! Great job making it!

surune 2023-10-05 18:16

Well, I played a bit, the spooky theme and some idea were great. However I couldn't find a connection between this game and the theme "limited space", so can I get an answer for this? Anyway, I played well!

torte478 2023-10-05 18:43

@surune of course! And thanks for the feedback!

Technically, the level of the game is a looped limited space. The only way to complete the game is to use that level design feature.

In addition, there is a philosophical subtext here, but this is already a spoiler =)

hakro 2023-10-05 19:42

Very nice little game. I liked the dark & creepy atmosphere, and how the music adapts to the situation. Didn't expect that at the end :) Very nice entry overall. GG.

stevenjmiller 2023-10-05 20:32

Great game, I loved the atmosphere and music. The moment when you have to turn around is really well done.

thanikthedev 2023-10-05 20:56

That was a an awesome little game! Great Atmosphere and the music really lined up with it. Great work overall!

hagamosvideojuegos 2023-10-05 21:06

Wow... Maybe it's a little bit frustrating the walls block but... amazing work!

Well done! Take your candy! :candy:

freamdev 2023-10-05 22:27

The character art is super disturbing, and the concept is amazing, liked it a lot!

beeb-gamecodecompany 2023-10-06 00:51

I am surprised by this one, I didn't expect much especially since the gameplay is pretty simple but once the loop starts it becomes much more interesting. I try to be honest instead of just praising everything when I play peoples games, the environment was decent but I wasn't impressed by much else BUT I did like your use of the theme! Alot of people seemed to be using small areas that are just small, you did something different and it worked well and I liked it. I also liked how there was more than 1 music track AND the chase sequence at the end was done very well, I felt the danger and those things are tough to pull off when making a game in such a short time.

sudocoffee 2023-10-07 17:54

This was a cool experience! There aren't a lot of narrative games made for the compo, so it's always refreshing to see something like that here. It was eerie seeing the subtle changes as you found more orbs. Sometimes the game felt a little slow for the orbs I had to loop around multiple times for, but that also added to the suspense. Art and music fit well together, and I loved seeing the splash of color at the end.

goddzeproject 2023-10-09 12:26

A FIVE-point story of a girl's triumph over her hand-phobia.(Was expecting a screemer the whole time))

rasblo 2023-10-12 03:48

Unique idea, really clever implementation of the theme, a simple platformer that heavily improved by the loops and that you have to remember the correct path. Creepy mood, both cute and disturbing character. Solid music and thanks for the happy ending.

Nice jam!

100th-coin 2023-10-12 16:28

I absolutely love the way the trees slowly turn into hands. The way the game gets more and more unsettling as you progress is nice, and I love the "chase sequence" at the end! The music changing as you go it fun too!

Some minor notes of critical feedback: I think the player might walk a bit too slow? For instance, once you see the glowy orb on the outside of the building over the right exit, I know exactly what I need to do, but the pace of the player slowly walking all the way around the map *twice* to deliver it to the hand... it felt artificially slow. I can share a similar note on the underground "maze" section where you blindly pick a path. It would be neat if you could've possibly known the route through the "maze" before your first time in it. Perhaps having a faded map on the wall, or some other small detail for some curious players to notice. Anyway, I took the top path first.

Back to the positives, can we talk about that chase sequence?! Oh wow. The hands popping out and all that! Keep in mind, from the player's perspective this game hasn't had any "death mechanics" introduced so far, so I have no idea what the consequences are for having one of the hands reach me. You did an incredible job setting up the "all or nothing" stress in the climax. Bravo! (and I proceeded to immediately die to the boss after escaping the underground. Good checkpoint placement!) I will say, after dying to the boss my immediate thought was "ah, try going left", which turned out to be the solution. I've had issues with intuitiveness in my game, and I'm curious to know how long it normally takes people to realize you need to run to the left.

Ah- and then the colorful ending. All around, great work!

minjutin 2023-10-19 09:05

I'm absolutely stunned with this. It's so beautiful yet quite horrifying, and somehow very relatable. Like wow. One of the greatest of this jam, let me say. True horror. Going in a limbo itself is really uncomfortable, in a good way. Art style slightly reminded me of Sally Face.

Also @100th-coin I accidentally read your feedback lol and I totally also walked directly into the monster. But I feel like because you only have very limited options (go right or go left) and you can't go right, it's not that hard to figure out that you should go left. And getting immediate feedback when doing that (white sparkles). But ye I'm totally with you, it's really hard to guide player to not get stuck :')
