Very fun game ! Love the consistency between art, sounds, and your background story. Good Job !

Very fun game ! Love the consistency between art, sounds, and your background story. Good Job !
Great art. Pretty hard game, but still nice.
Very good game ! Love your mechanics, it makes the game hard and interesting. Good Job on your LD, too.
Really good level design ! Love the "shockwave" mechanic to move the blocks.
So much work here, very good, well designed, the sounds, pixel art and gameplay are great !
Very good game ! I spot a bug, when a falling bloc is side by side with the structure already built, you can make the bloc go inside the structure. Maybe some side collision is missing. Except that, perfect art, love the "bump mapping" color effect.
Love your graphics. Your audio seemed awesome, but the glitch is pretty hard. It seems you spent many time on your level design, it's well done, but quite difficult at the start. Good Job !
So much beautiful... But, was the theme "Dying Planet" ? :) Very good game, perfect mood, graphics, sfx and everything was pleasant ! Good Job !
Haha ! Love it ! Got 24...
Really good animations and amazing graphics !
Good Job !
This is really good ! Lot of emotions, especially with your music in the background !
Love it !
*"To infinity and beyond !"* :)
Very fun game ! A score for each life (based on distance + coins) would be interesting.
Good Job !
Excellent Game ! Love the art... I am a big fan of very hard and retro games !
Love the mood ! Interesting the "level next" box, giving the ability of speed runing.
Beautiful screen effect, love the art...
Very good ! I was really focus the entire game to stay alive. Love the art, gameplay and sfx.
This is a very interesting "game" (or simulation ?) !
I imagine you spent many hours searching for a good balance between the species. That makes the work pretty harder.
Good Job !
Great concept, pretty frustrating game (in a good way).
Great animations, beautiful low poly style, I'd love to see the hero's face !
Very good game, I made pretty much the same concept and art style (puzzle game, gameboy size and monochrome color palette). You have so many things done here, sounds, art, LD... Great Job ! 5*
Really cool. Love the art.
Very good puzzle game. Love the mood.
Really cool. Love the concept.
This is really good, the art was well designed, good animations... Good Job !
I wasn’t sure what to do. I had some issues with the thumb collisions. Maybe a smaller rectangle collider than the shape of the hand would do the job ? The audio was very fun to me ("music" and sfx).
Good Job !
Very cool game. Hard, but very cool...
Thank you ! No, it is defined in each level map.
@leave @kristov @gabe @jdhollen @ephoria @mitsu-artemius @akros @connorthompson @bovandenberg @henriksoderberg @noa-calice @ghen @psychead @jambav @stephano @woubuc @conk @martyxgames Thanks all for your support !
@noa-calice Didn't had time to make the sound, sadly...
@biodiesel Yes, each enemy has a specific pattern.
@nnnikki Yes, I'd like to.
I'd like to :
- add sfx (with a "buzzz" increasing when the noisy shadow shrinks) - add explosion effects when a bomb hits the player - add some monologues in each level to add real depth in the chlaustrophobic effect - add much more levels
@phlip45 Nope, I did all by myself.
@phlip45 @sebbernery The goal of this first jam was more a challenge to myself and the framework I am developing rather than win the competition. I picked few old spritesheets of mine, created new ones for the jam. To respect the rules, I didn't wanted to be rated on my graphics. :)
Very fun game ! The sounds and score aren't reseted after each death, so after few death, the audio overlaped. Good Job !
BwooOk, score of 610, BwooOk !
Oh shit, we have the same game's name ! Yours deserve more this name, though. Excellent game. I don't know if it was a wanted feature, but we can use diagonal strafing to go faster. 5*
This is so good, perfect low poly style, great sfx, wonderful animations... Love this game ! 5*
This is really good !
So beautiful art, love the voxel style and reflections.
Very Good ! So much work here... Love the art.
Great mechanics, I always get a score of 0 though. Very excellent work !
Really good game ! Love the art style, the mood is so hard that it makes the game so complete. Good job ;)
Clever game. Hard to play at first, but the difficulty decreases as you understand the mecanics. Good job !
Really good game... But so hard :D ! Love the physics of the "player" Good job ;)
That is a really good game ! God job on the animations, sfx and art style. Well done :)
Clever game. Really good art and sounds. Good job !
Really good game ! Love the art style, well polished ! Good job ;)
Clever game. Hard to play at first, but the difficulty decreases as you understand the mecanics. Good job !
Haha, loved this game, of course, I made a similar one ! :D
Really fun game, good job !
@meskaline @halfmule thanks, I'd like to release it on mobile, but couldn't make it. Thanks for your support !
@noobexception good job ! I think I could reach higher than 294.
@jjjjason I'm pleased to read that :smiley: !
@tddawson I am pleased that you got the "greedy" part of this game !
The all point of this game was to make people think of their decisions and how their greed impacts their future. More you buy stuff, more the game is supposed to make you feel bad, but you'll still want to retry more and more to get the highest score, whatever the part of you is lost during your life.
The score is calculated like so :
+2 points for each heart you got
-1 point for each heart lost
Thank you for your support ;)
Clever game. Hard to play at first, but the difficulty decreases as you understand the mecanics. Good job !
Really fun game that reminds me "Don't Starve" (then I looked at comments and saw I was'nt the only one :)). Well done !
@saathvik The depth was my main priority in this entry through feelings, graphics and texts.
@stin Press RIGHT and watch it like a short movie (just trolling myself :smile: ).
Really fun game! at first I struggled with some walls I thought I couldn't pass, but after that I enjoyed the session! :wink:
Good job! :smiley:
This might be "LD53 - The Biking of Isaac". :smile:
Really fun game, easy to understand! Good job on the biking feeling!
Really good job! I loved the trees mechanics (plus the blur effect)! Hard to do more in 48h... Well done! :wink:
Fun game! Little difficulties at start to understand what to do, but once understood, the fun starts. The day/night cycle adds to the mood, loved the little characters running to houses! :wink:
Really good game! The mood is great, and as the time passed, I felt more and more stressed... :scream:
Good job! :wink:
Really nice! This is fun, nice puzzle game with the right amount of challenge!
I liked your game being wrote in vanilla JS! This is the way... (I did it too) :smirk:
Good job!
For a Compo, great job on the AI of ennemies! :robot:
I manage 2 to 3 times to go outside the train when I shouldn't (I think) :see_no_evil:.
Really good platformer, good game!
Really good! Loved all the traps when you want to use the grappling hook :joy:
Awesome work in 48h, good job! :clap:
@ace17 Fixed! Thank you for pointing out the bug! :wink:
@makuck95 yes, unfortunately I started the event 12 hours after the beginning, so I had only the 2 last hours to work on sounds.
I started 6 years ago working on my first game engine (2D pixel art) and I created this new one last year just after LD50. :smiley:
@mistafixxa069 OK thanks for your feedback ( @tomrijnbeek and @makuck95 also spot the issue), I just fixed a bug on the jump, it should be better! :wink:
@usenrame :thinking:
Well done, I loved the death animations!
Really good! Maybe it would have been nice to punish when the player deliver the wrong food and when he hits a construction plot? After a moment I looked more the road than the cats because I knew that their wishes where not so important than me dying :joy:
Killed myself after 20k points :smirk_cat:
Really nice entry!
Unfortunately I tried five minutes trying to understand the controls and couldn't manage to find one control, so I can't rate your game, even I find your design pretty good... :cry:
Could you explain how to play? I don't know if there is a bug :thinking:
Tag me in a comment and I'll test again! :wink:
Good game with well balanced difficulty! It's really hard to create AND to protect towers at the same time meaning we'll have to make sacrifices sometimes. Good job! :wink:
Really nice game! I love puzzle games so you got me... :joy:
Found the controls a little bit confusing (scroll to rotate belts scroll the page in the embeded version, for instance) and I had difficulties with the "jumper", but I spend a good amount of time on your game and for that, you deserve a good score! :smiley:
Really fun to throw packages! What matters is that they arrived, no?.. :joy:
(Maybe it would have been nice to have some ambiant music to make feel the rush?)
Really good! So much work done here with a lot of text, a strong depth with the scenario, the mood totally caught me, great job! :clap:
In the COMPO mode, I found really difficult to create many features and many levels since we need to create everything. Even if you're saying the level are not difficult enough, each level has its own gameplay feature and THAT shows that you work hard on your game. With a little more time you could create easilly many levels.
Great job for this game! :clap:
A lot of depth here!
So much work on the unique idea, the story, and the visuals... Fits really well the theme!
Great job! :clap:
Nice entry!
Well done for the different abilities of the fiends, it's always difficult to have several mechanics on a jam!
P.S.: I had difficulties with the hitboxes that took the entire sprites (if they were only around the feet, it should have helped with the perspective).
:clap:
(P)Oops...
Very nice entry! Love the design (a vibe of Don't Starve) and the joyful audio!
I had some difficulties with the rotating camera changing the directions of the player, but the camera is really well done so it doesn't matter so much.
:clap:
Really fun game !
I was not ready when those 9000 meteors came at me :')
I think there is a visual issue with the orientation of the sprite of the portals, I had difficulties anticipating the trajectory of the exit of the meteor
Nice entry!
@pakoo @themaskedman Thank you for your comments! <3
FIXED: I just fixed an issue with my renderer scaling, if you encountered a strange resolution (big black framing with ugly pixelization), feel free to play it again! :)
I'll test your games during the week!
@bry Thanks, my sister and my brother-in-law just encountered the same bug!
FIXED: Now physics won't feel like playing with Flash! :joy:
For everyone else, if you encountered the issue, I'm deeply sorry! :pray: (@pakoo @themaskedman @gettingrekt @stevie257 @zekysky @senso @francois-dervaux @momotiktik @betovf @ariyassa @emiliabea @xanagear)
@anifan-gelati @sstyles93 The lack of audio didn't help me with the theme, but I meant to make the player feel the presence of his/her ancestor during his/her journey and summoning him (switching with him between the present/orange and the past/blue).
Awesome lighting effects! Loved it!
Well balanced learning curve, great pixel art and 8-bit style audio! :clap:
Nice one!
I also thought the menus were plates, and after a while I understood that I could take a menu from a client to give it to another client! :joy:
Very joyful and well-balanced entry!
:clap:
Good job, nice "old-school" flash game vibes! :clap:
Wow, so much work on the UI, art and text/scenario, well done! :clap:
This "to be continued"... YES, I want to continue! :joy:
I'd love to see the next chapter! :wink:
I can't make it work at the moment...
I click on your (awesome) art with the play button, then I'm stuck on a empty screen, then if I click on the empty screen, it shows me again the play button.
@gonzo13 I'm using Firefox like @hermitgamesmiths
I have a screen of Device Pixel Ratio 2, just in case (resolution of 3000x2000)
Really good entry!
You worked on multiple mechanics (difficulties, skills types, skeletons, monsters...) it's well polished, good job! :clap:
Wow, really cool! Good job on the technical aspect! Solid 5 for innovation :clap:
Reminds me the Tank level of Crash Bash :heart:
Really nice precision/puzzle game! Hard/challenging, some times, but I see this game as a puzzle-time-management game, and the timer beeing so precise makes me tell that you spent a lot of time playtesting your game.
Good job! :clap:
Great mood you've created here!
Loved the art and sound, adds something deep to the mood! :clap:
Great entry!
Love the references, great audio, really fun to play!
The physics are really cool and responsive, good job! :clap:
Really fun game, good job for the amount of work! :clap:
Good job for a Compo, so much work between the audio, the development and the art! :clap:
The boss is not happy with me... :grinning:
Loved the assets, the mood, the stress, audio...
Really good entry, so much work done here, congrats! :clap:
Very well polished game, great art and idea, good job!
(FYI, it's a little perf-consuming for my mid-range PC : MS Surface Book 2, 7 years old)
Really fun game!
I really enjoyed the music and the sfx when throwing things!
Great art and well-balanced game!
I had difficulties with controls because I have a french keyboard and it seems that the mapping of your inputs are bound to the real values of the keys instead of the key codes (maybe?).
@stevie257 Yes, I think you use something like `event.keyCode` (native or via a library) in your JS code.
It could be replace by `event.code`.
After that, you could compare `event.code` with `'keyW'` (sale values fo english `W` key or french `Z` key). :wink:
Good job for a Compo, a lot of work done in so little time! :clap:
Congrats! :clap:
So much work put into the depth of your game: great audio, I imagine a lot of time spent on writing the scenario, the dialog, the interactions, the branching system...
Good job!
Really hard to understand at first (took me at least 5 minutes to understand how to progress, looking at the comments then trying again). I really think you should put a little note or clue on how to play at first.
But once I realized how to play, it felt nice!
Really great art, music is a little redundant, but really fits the mood, indeed!
:clap:
Nice entry!
I had hard times with the restart mechanics instead of a respawn point, but I told myself that it's the rogue-lite of golf games! :joy:
:clap:
Really good entry!
Love the art and mood! The game is well balanced, but I also encountered a big group of rats on the west wall.
Good job!
Nice!
Like you said, I stayed on one depth because it's a fast game so I can't afford to spend time on switching depth. Maybe with some slowing moments (like a bullet time at some point), I could take the time to think of the next depth I want to go, depending on the next level parts I see.
Good job!
GOTY! :clap:
Really nice entry!
I lost so many times because of the leaderboard, I must admit... :see_no_evil:
God job! :clap:
Agreed with @ponkkis:
"Socks with sandals" -> HELL :nerd:
The buttons could have been larger, and also I live in France, so I have an AZERTY-based keyboard. Maybe consider to map input with key codes instead of key values? (I don't know how it's made in Unity)
Really nice entry for a COMPO! :clap:
Really good!
Nice take on the theme, especially with a physics-based entry! :clap:
Really interesting concept!
I had very bad performance issues on my laptop, so couldn't play it in real conditions... :cry:
Good job!
Really good! The visuals and the execution are really good, and your take on the theme is a very good idea! What did your daughter thought about this game?
Nice one!
Lost some lives on the pink-ish biome as well, but I did it! :sunglasses: Loved the palette, and the challenge!
Great job!
Capture d'écran 2025-04-11 225321.png
I somehow need a :cookie: now...
Capture d'écran 2025-04-12 163632.png
Really good game, so many items to buy and features! OK, it is slow at the beginning, but I think a full game like this is hard to balance well from early to end game.
Personnaly I had issues with the scrolling (I'm a Windows user, so I guess this is the eternal pain of scrolling issues between Mac and PC).
:clap:
Really peaceful game!.. if you don't take into account that an army of Nemos want you dead! :joy:
Great job for the mood!
Made it to the bottom!
Capture d'écran 2025-04-11 234132.png
Really nice entry! :clap:
Loved your level design! I live in France, so I have an AZERTY keyboard, and I would like to point a minor change, if I may:
In your code, you get the input with `event.key`, which will return the visible letter pressed, not the physical key of the keyboard.
``` const k = event.key
if(k == 'Escape') return show_screen('level_select')
if(stuck_in_win_animation) return
if(['w', 'W', 'ArrowUp' ].includes(k)) return handle_move(up) if(['a', 'A', 'ArrowLeft' ].includes(k)) return handle_move(left) if(['s', 'S', 'ArrowDown' ].includes(k)) return handle_move(down) if(['d', 'D', 'ArrowRight'].includes(k)) return handle_move(right) if(['z', 'Z', 'Backspace' ].includes(k)) return undohistory.pop() if(['r', 'R' ].includes(k)) return startlevel(savestate.current_level) ```
Instead, use the `event.code` which will return, 'KeyA' when: - visible letter 'A' is pressed on QWERTY display - visible letter 'Q' is pressed on AZERTY display
@unima9000 Thanks for your feedback!
I just redeployed it to github.io, here is the new link: https://theatrejs.github.io/ludum-dare-57.
(It seems that my Game Engine doesn't get the focus on itch.io pages sometimes...)
Enjoy! :smiling_imp:
**Except for the last level**, every level has a direct path, with **no red herrings**!
Now, I can spoil the Level Design! :smiling_imp:
Great entry! Loved the stealth/action mood, really well done! :clap:
Nice! Love the art and the sounds!
@flying-dog-fish I have a very poor framerate starting near the first fire pits, too.
Great idea!
I was surprised by the past decisions moving on their path, great design choice! :clap:
Really good entry based on PvZ (:heart:)!
I will have the music in mind for the two next weeks, but no problem... :joy:
Good job! :clap:
Capture d'écran 2025-04-12 214849.png
Poor cute gnomes... but they got me coins, so... :see_no_evil:
Very fun game, had difficulties with the controls, but that's intended, so it's OK!
Nice one!
Really good ambiant sounds and atmosphere!
I felt a little lost sometimes, but it adds to the genre, so this is not a bad point! :wink:
Great job!
Good job!
Agreed with the 7-spamming method :see_no_evil: Maybe you could force the depth to be the exact value, it would made the player choose the good depth.
Also FYI, on your itch.io page, you still have a typo : "Controls 🕹️: 1/7 - One block platform / Eight block platform"
"Eight" instead of "Seven"
Really good game!
Very challenging, I wonder why the dwarf didn't chose a ladder :thinking: :joy:
God job! :clap:
Great job!
I miss an elevator music, though! :joy:
Well executed, congrats for having all you've made in a COMPO timeframe :wink:
Well done! :clap:
Simple, yet very effective!
SCORES :
Capture d'écran 2025-04-21 150627.png
High score 888 :sunglasses:
I pushed few tries again, over 2000, but after that, the RNG was a little bit unbalanced :cry:
Capture d'écran 2025-04-21 151006.png
Really nice!
Good job on the mini games, because it seems to me you did a lot of work between the visuals, story, point-and-click, drag and drop and boat mini-game! :clap:
Nice game, good job!
Loved the cat animation! :joy:
Awesome! :clap:
Everything works very well, the gameplay is fun, the difficulty is perfect, loved your entry, great job!
Really nice entry! The right part of the third (I think) level is haaard! :joy:
The gameplay really feels like I control a stupid robot, and the sounds are really fun!
Good job!
Great!
This is a really well-polished game! Even if I had difficulties to time/plan my actions, I find it very well-balanced!
Good job! :clap:
Google Chrome dino/cactus 404 DLC! :see_no_evil:
Good job, excellent take on the theme, difficult, but really interesting to be able to jump on your own with JUMP or by pressing the corresponding letter once you know the next one!
Great runner! :clap:
Awesome game!
I had the idea of this gameplay for more than a decade, really happy to see it done better than I could have done, especially on a COMPO timeframe!
Loved your work on the particle effect, it makes the whole game, so I imagine it was a huge bet, but you did it perfectly well!
:clap:
@jk5000 @frowsyfrog @rogual Thanks a lot for your feedbacks!
I edited this page to explain the game context and controls (@rogual, you'll need to select the cards to send instructions to the Pawn Patron. Good game! :wink:).
(I fixed some bugs too! :see_no_evil:).
Really fun idea for the main character, and I love how you made the echolocation work.
The art is beautiful, and the sound design well-polished, nice entry!
(P.S.: I had really really bad performance issues on my laptop, maybe 4fps)
Nice puzzle game!
I had difficulties to understand how signs worked sometimes, but it's a really good take on the theme, good job! :clap:
Great game!
There is a lot done with the UI, ambiant, design... everything!
Pixel art is my thing too, so I can only love your take on this one, good job!
Good job!
I find it a little bit hard to see the robots even on the nearest cases, but it adds a lot to the claustrophobic mood, as @domenixius said.
Well done! :clap:
Nice!
It seems like a nightmare to develop this gameplay, especially during a game jam, so good job for that!
I regret a lot the absence of sound design, but the amount of work for the gameplay explains the lack of audio.
Congrats!
Great game!
There is many different things (UI, audio, gameplay) done in a such little amount of time, good job!
(First try, no errors, no fingers left :see_no_evil:)
Egg-selent!
The game is well balanced, you need to think of 5 different things (birds, blue/red nectar, honey, bugs, birds) and 2-3 of those things at the same time. It keeps you busy all the time, it's very nice!
The sound design adds a lot to the mood, too!
I'm a bit sad the bird's shadow art is so pixelated/overscaled, but overall, you've done a really good job!
Great! You've done so much art and UI features, impressive! Did you have a template project in advance to help you build this game?
I do miss sounds but it's really hard to do all the gameplay, art and sound design in this short amount of time, and since you polished the rest, it's more than OK!
Good job!
Really good entry! You manage to do so many things in a short timeframe, congrats for that!
I loved how I need to find a safe spot, to scan enemies, adapt my frequencies and go for a fight, it's a good idea!
Good job! :clap:
Well done!
Even if I had difficulties with some hitboxes and the perspective, the aesthetics, sound design and gameplay work really well together!
Good job!
Awesome!
@dimonasdf @justine-d I totally agree with the "Papers, Please" vibe! Merged with escape games mood.
Seems to me you did a lot of work for this game, between the UI, the puzzles, the texts... well done! :clap:
Great idea!
I like how it make me feel to try going in the dark hoping to find a light to attach to!
The inertia of the character (space ship?) make me think you wanted something difficult to control too, and maybe you'll want to reward/punish the player for going fast vs bumping on objects?
As mentionned before me, some ambiant sounds would have been really nice, I never have time for it (even if I want every time) so lately I force myself to stop the dev at least 2 hours before the deadline, it gives me the time to make basic stuff but it helps a lot with the fun and mood of the games.
Congrats for your entry! :clap:
Funny game, like @steveofstevesgames said, there is a rock/paper/scissors vibe!
I feel like your original intent was to make a better use of the "arena" (like the goblin you mentionned) to "justify" the need to move and grab flags.
Let me know if you add more features later!
Good idea, nice job! :clap:
Nice entry!
The "manhattan distance" got be once, because I was used to the minesweeper rules, my bad! I think your take is great and the balance is really good!
I missed an explosion noisy/grainy sound effect, though, but the amount of work for the time limit is incredible! Really good art, too!
Good job!
Awesome! I loved how you make the player learn tasks each day, and the game let you focus more and more on the environment and notice things (for instance, the bathroom light visible from the bedroom).
Great mood and art! :clap:
Great! This is a very clever use of the theme, good job!
