I saw your game in the news. Like the fuel, cargo system! Cool font! The stars are on different layers= cool effect. Good and mininmalistic A++;

taner 2018-08-12 23:44

Great game, keep up. Good idea with the fuels and cargos. The enemy ships are also cool with the misslies :D

andrew-friedman 2018-08-12 23:44

I love the whole random generation aspect of it. Well made!

grewoss 2018-08-13 00:01

Great game, i played quite a while :)

negativegeforce 2018-08-13 00:30

Found and reviewed this because you reviewed mine. Best one i've tried so far. This is a great little game. It has alot of gameplay. The minimalism works well for it. Everything was intuitive. The shop system is simple and works great. The only trouble I had was finding the wormhole to get out of the system but thats minor. Great job.

listonos 2018-08-13 00:55

Great game! A lot of content, looks good, fun to play. A little bit of variety in what planets offer would spice things up. Also the fellow rockets never dropped any gold when I hit them with missile.

jole 2018-08-13 08:38

I really enjoyed this one. The music and sounds were really good. Also liked it was fast paced.

deformhead 2018-08-13 08:41

So much work here, very good, well designed, the sounds, pixel art and gameplay are great !

ittinop 2018-08-13 08:45

Love the music, reminds me of FTL.

missalpha 2018-08-13 10:41

Clean and solid game, nice job, alot of fun to play!

mutskun 2018-08-13 15:13

I like the minimalism in this game, it also controls very well. I find it weird that you are able to find the warp portal thingy even though you haven't bought the upgrade yet. I also think that it would be more fun if the prices of the stores were different depending on the type of planet you visit or depending on the level, just so you have more diversity in the game. now it's the same for every level. I did enjoy playing it though, cool concept and a fun graphics.

mathiouza 2018-08-13 16:16

Really cool game ^^ I really enjoyed the graphics and mostly the music ! It is really cool ^^ Maybe should you make something to have more vessels to attack ?

Overall cool game ^^ Keep coding :)

korso 2018-08-13 16:22

Very solid. The movement feels nice, and the mechanic of collecting cargo and visit planets is really cool. Love the music and the overall design. Good job!

xcvzxc 2018-08-13 17:28

Very expanded game! i coudnt believe its compo entry. I love the music, it fits perfectlu in space travelling kindof game :)

leave 2018-08-13 17:35

Very entertaining, i like the design of stars in the background. The singularity could be a bit scarier.

thought-reactor 2018-08-13 18:04

Really fun! Love the depth in the mechanics and variety of art.

oneiros 2018-08-13 19:28

The game is very pretty. I think the interface works really well. Good job :)

psjuk0 2018-08-13 19:44

Really fun game, love the trading mechanic. A great achievement for 48 hours work.

2018-08-13 20:44

am of like

kornel 2018-08-14 08:56

Love how the game looks

holdmeimscared 2018-08-14 10:32

So much fun! I like your visual design, down to the stylistic yet very readable font choice. Your sound effects and music are absolutely on point. Just all around an excellent level of polish in a compo game, especially given the depth otherwise - you struck a great balance there.

syrapt0r 2018-08-14 14:30

Thanks for all the feedback and positivity so far, I really enjoyed reading all the comments ^^

@listonos More variety on planets was planned but I didn't have time to implement it. I planned to have desolate planets with no items / shops and I wanted some planets where you would just find gold / missiles.

@mutskun The warp marker just serves as a help to find the wormhole. It felt unfair if you got stuck in a universe with no way to escape the black hole, that's why I made the wormhole usable from the start. That way there's still a chance to escape even if you're out of coins. As for the planets, see above :)

@leave I totally agree. I actually experimented with camera shaking and more UI indicators but both didn't really feel right so I just left it the way it is ^^

samuel-kriman 2018-08-14 15:41

This has a really good aesthetic and feel. I visited 9 universes before dying to the singularity because I couldn't find the warp. One exploit I found is that visiting a planet removes the missiles.

lastleaf 2018-08-14 15:48

Great fun. I quite enjoy the visual design and the music.

The idea is great. It is a great compo game. Hope you can make it more complex. Different kind of resources? More enemies?

yngvarr 2018-08-14 15:52

I expected Asteroids-style controls from this game. =) Looks pretty solid yet monotonous. Also, wonderful parallax effect with this stars!

stjester 2018-08-14 16:47

Wow! the game looks very cool. It is polished well and overall this game is a decent entry! Thanks for creating!

turbo-torbo 2018-08-14 19:28

Cool game with a lot of content for this short amount of time. The random generation is neat and the music + sounds fit the game pretty good. really liked it!

eroz33 2018-08-14 19:39

Loved the game, very well polished!

thepelranthean 2018-08-14 22:14

Hard to think of anything constructive to say beyond what has already been said. So, to begin with, good job; this game is fun to play.

Variety in planets would have been a nice feature, but you didn't get around to it, and even so the game still works.

Being able to use the wormhole right from the beginning is nice, though it can lead to simply finding the wormhole and leaving the universe without really exploring much. If you grind in the plentiful first levels and then just buy enough fuel, you can get quite a ways into the game without doing much. But the alternative of requiring a certain amount of money does feel a bit limiting (especially in some of the sparse universes).

Overall, I think you did a good job cutting back on features that weren't needed and focusing on what made your game enjoyable, which is ultimately what is important. So well done maintaining focus on this project.

andrey-ugolnik 2018-08-15 05:04

Very nice art style, build web version, please.

2018-08-15 15:48

Nice art and variety, very good controls and effects. A bit hard when the universe hardly has enough gold to refuel.

vekstr 2018-08-16 05:49

Nice simple game, but I didn't quite get the theme. I also never needed to use the booster until I forgot it even existed, so I died on universe 11 feeling cheated.

Oh and I couldn't get the missiles to shoot where I wanted?

tetra 2018-08-16 19:48

I think the presentation is cool. I didn't really know what to do so I was chasing the warp points. Same with trading, resources etc, I wasn't sure where to get cargo at the start. I think it controls well, but I felt a bit directionless midgame. I think the background music is good. Most of all, I think the game would benefit from the plot being described, maybe some sort of mission to achieve on each level.

gameplay here at about 2 mins in: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298139021##

antonin 2018-08-18 08:19

I really liked the music and I find that the game is cool with cool graphics. The controls are very hard when you have an AZERTY keyboard. It took me sometime to understand how to get coins but now I am ready to conquer space ! Great work.

brallex 2018-08-18 12:15

Ok you really need to add this as a web browser game!^^ I can't play it so I'll rate you based on the screenshots and description + some comments, but I really would like to play your game man! Write me if you will x)

syrapt0r 2018-08-18 15:11

@andrey-ugolnik @brallex Web Version is now up ^^

The particles seem to have lost the right color but everything else should work.

barrier 2018-08-18 15:38

This was pretty cool! I got through all 10 levels and then got crushed in 2s by the thing. I didn't even realize you had shift for faster speed.

weiiswurst 2018-08-18 15:43

Ja guut, gegen nen IT Studenten hab ich als 13-Jähriger keine Chance :c I have absolutely no chance against someone who is 9 years older than me.. ;)

chicodelosmates 2018-08-18 15:55

I'm not a tutorial person and i thought i had to prepare for the singularity, not escape from it through the black hole haha Great game!

brallex 2018-08-18 20:49

Now I played it! And it was so much fun!! I really liked the gameplay, the music and audio, the slick art style from the menu(and ofc the rest of the game) and of course the trading system. Although I didn't stand a chance when the final boss level appeared, I really enjoyed the rest of the game! All and all a great game, well done! And thanks for building the web version for us:)

suve 2018-08-19 18:43

Enjoyable, minimalistic style. The gameplay is simple and intuitive. Good job!

syrapt0r 2018-08-19 21:34

@weiiswurst Well I started making games just 4 years ago. Just imagine the level of skill you'll have in 9 ^^

arron-fowler 2018-08-19 22:04

This felt impressivly complete. Lots going on, all working as you would expect. Good work.

rexpeppers 2018-08-22 20:17

Wow, great effort!

shakedimus 2018-08-22 23:01

Nice game, music combined with the simple aesthetic provided a very poished experience. Good controls also, I was wondering can you make rockets following you crash into other ships or asteroids?. I don't really like this kind of games normally but it's very well done, kudos!

syrapt0r 2018-08-22 23:31

@shakedimus you can make them crash into asteroids to get some gold out of them, yes :)

I forgot to add the same behavior for other ships though ^^

lagman9000 2018-08-28 19:40

Wasn't sure what to do at first but good fun once I had the hang of it! Cool chill audio and decent intuitive controls.

roman-petrov 2018-08-29 12:04

It's like Elite, but very minimalistic :) And I loved Elite when I was a kid. Didn't have enough time to complete all 10 universes, but it was very fun to play. Great game!

zinski 2018-08-30 21:08

This little space exploration game is one of the best games I could play in jam! The sound and visual atmosphere are great! I liked the original mechanics of this game even if I think that some visual feedbacks would make the experience even better! Great job! :)

By the way please feel free to leave us some feedbacks on our game!
