Hey, wanted to let you know I tried opening the web build, but it can't find the link, so currently it seems the game is unplayable? You can respond to this comment when that is fixed, as I'll have notifications on and I'll be back to rate the game!

tom-cumpsty 2023-05-01 08:48

If you respond to this when you get the web build link working I will play it too :)

rasblo 2023-05-01 10:10

@calcopod @tom-cumpsty My tired mistake! Thanks for letting me know, should work now :)

calcopod 2023-05-01 10:20

Very fun game. Played a few rounds with a friend. Created a similar atmosphere to RISK, if you know the game.

Great entry!

Is this a hex version go game? Very interesting design! but sadly I can't see the relation with theme :(

pdotjpg 2023-05-02 20:30

Nice take on Go. Ended up playing longer than I expected. Simple clean visuals too. The delivery guy's a bit weird, ha, like you're stretching to fit the theme in some way.

douwe-ravers 2023-05-02 20:39

That random guy with the delivery really got me laughing. I love these kind of weird random events. The music was really nice! Did you play the song on a real instrument? Concept was also fun. Even it was just against the CPU.

Awesome game! I also did a hex-based puzzler, so I might be biased haha. I really enjoyed the music. The game reminds me a lot of the line and dot game I used to play back in school. This has a lot of character and that's hard to pull off in such a short time -- kudos.

Thanks for playing everyone!

@pdotjpg @nekowei Some might say I made the game without focusing on the theme, then forced it into my game on the last day with a random delivery man and a mailbox.. some might say that.

On a more serious note, actually not inspired by Go, but I see it and will happily take that comparison!

@douwe-ravers Cheers! Yes hah recently got a ukulele so I had to use it :)

@ollie-d Thanks a lot! Will definitely check out your hex game as soon as I find the time - we must unite

Simple, but nice! It reminds me of old dots game I used to play in my notebooks at school. And I always love a hex-grid game. The game's AI is interesting - it feels like most of the time it's pretty easy, but once in a while it turns out I've missed something, made a stupid error and lost. Still, I'm winning about 4/5 matches, so there's that for me. :P And the music's really nice, I love how it gets faster after the "Delivery". :P

Very cool entry, it's awesome that you could fit an AI to it! Not that strong on the theme, but a solid entry!

deformhead 2023-05-09 06:40

Really good entry, loved the graphics, good job for all the hard work in only 48h!

jonathan-lorenz 2023-05-12 14:50

Had to try again a few times before getting it. Nice little game, not sure about the relation to the theme but hey, I enjoyed my time playing the game. If I would change something, it would be to have less grey graphics and some scenery elments in the background. Good work overall!

thesmellofoxygen 2023-05-12 15:03

Fun and simple. I like the cute music and the tile-placement animation, but I think due to the small size of the project you could have spent some time making the font/UI a little nicer. I also don't see any relation to the theme unfortunately, besides having an image of a postman and mailbox.

A very fun little strategy game. The gameplay is fun and I love the music. Overall an interesting and fun little jam game. Well done.

sinusquell 2023-05-12 20:29

Once I realized I could encircle the other players tiles, it got so much better :D

This feels like a great couch game. I would've liked a little in-game guide to explain how many pieces you can place and how the center block works. I thought it was game over when the opponent reached to the border before me and the mailman started running. After realizing the game was still on I assumed the block would yield more points. But it seemed to count as one as well.

Good work!
