Interesting take on the Worlde-like. I do think it's more of a traditional typing game and that the Wordle-like elements could've been a bit more prominent, but overall it was a fun and smooth experience.

This is amazing hahaha. I really appreciate the concept. I do think gameplay wise it's a little too simplistic. Since you can't free anything referenced by the stack you can safely just star GC and spam away. It would make it feel more like a game if there was a penalty to freeing something you shouldn't be able to. Also I think this would benefit from being more real-time. It seems too free to be able to start/stop GC
Really fun to play around with the the double pendulum! Sorry you ran into issues with Unity's physics, but I think the end result is pretty neat.
Would've been cool to see some idle clicker-like elements added to this to make it feel more game-like. I think the music is quite effective and the intro was very cheeky which I appreciated, but I do think there's something missing.
Overall a pretty fun game! I do think the wall jump timings are a bit too unforgiving, but I really like the mechanics and enjoyed playing this
Good stuff! I like the aesthetic and I think the music fits well. I do think that that the crossbow bolts fire too slowly, it's painful to aim with them. The most effective strategy for me was to stand directly in front of a projectile to shoot it. Also sometimes the ships would drop health packs that would permanently stay off stage, so I couldn't get them. Would've been nice if they had some gravity that was always being pulled in to the queen. Overall a well done project
The font is absolutely terrible. I get the aesthetic you were going for, but it's unpleasant to read. Music and sfx are solid.
Graphics are really nice! Had no problem running it on my Windows machine. There's something very satisfying about just going straight to bed out of defiance haha. Well done
Solid game, quite polished. Music is great, did you not make it yourself? I can't vote on the audio, would've given it high marks.
@themadpangolin I understand. I did that for my GMTK jam last year so I feel you completely. Sometimes a song you already have just fits the game perfectly. I really did enjoy it though :)
Tried running it on my version of Godot and it said the version wasn't specified, so I couldn't test it.
That was genuinely really fun. I'm impressed with how much you were able to get done within the jam period. I do think you could've really easily stuck to the theme if the candle DID deplete and you had flaming arrows that could reignited it. That way you'd have to balance out shooting enemies and shooting your candle to keep it alive. But genuinely well done, my favorite game I've played so far from LD50.
I didn't really understand the building concept. I was able to harvest materials no problem, but failed to ever build anything after a few tries. Not really sure what I did wrong there as I read the instructions. I think this has potential and I appreciate the sensitivity slider in the main menu since the default is insane
I love slay the spire so it was cool to see a deck builder in the jam. The UI was kind of confusing when it came to selecting options because I was expecting the option selected to be in white and not black. I think it would've handled better with a mouse, but otherwise a cool submission!
Pretty fun. Had no problems with the web version. I thought it was pretty funny that you needed to run into the edges/corners to make very tight turns. Would've been more engaging if I could've drifted around the corner, but the game played well without it, so what's the point. I liked the different climates you'd cross and how they'd affect heat. Would've been nice if there were some actual tunes that played when the radio turned on, but I understand not including it, especially if you don't already have a convenient audio engine ready to go.
Pretty solid game. I like the graphics and I think it fits the theme well. One thing I'd say is that I wish there was a more clear indicator of height since it was sometimes confusing. Overall though a solid entry
There's a sound in the game that might be the motor sound, but it sounds like a crashing computer haha. I think having some doodads on the side of the track like trees would've made it a lot easier to gauge my speed because it wasn't clear if I was moving some times. Overall I like the aesthetic. Also I wasn't sure if it was intentional, but I think it's hilarious that the acronym for the game is smd
Not available on itch still
Pretty goofy game and I really have no idea how to control it efficiently hahaha, but it was fun
I don't know if using the Minecraft assets is in the spirit of the compo. You're supposed to create everything in the 48 hours, and we all know a team of artists created the MC assets over years.
That was a lot of fun! The music is hilarious given the destruction. I loved maneuvering on the welding cart so much that I used it rather than teleporting haha. Also I noticed that if you weld something then go back and re-weld it, it gets stuck in the permanent welding animation state
Wish there was some scoring system, at least to see how long I've survived. The enemies are all a little too easy to escape from and the sticks are always readily available. Never felt like I was in any danger and didn't feel like playing more than a few minutes since there was no score to beat or anything.
"Science... Energy" Lots of fun! Great graphics, great gameplay, just an overall really polished jam submission.
Genuinely very fun. I don't usually like platformers, but this one feels really tight. I love the concept and I think it fits the theme very well. I like that you have to be conservative with the jetpack, reminds me of Worms. Well done!
Getting some serious performance issues when there are multiple enemies on the screen
Cool that you were able to submit this to 3 jams simultaneously. I think the depth is not clearly communicated and I wasn't really sure what I was about to hit if anything. The graphics do look quite good though and I enjoyed the music. Overall impressive stuff
Interesting remix of chess with some cool mechanics. I think some of the UI was a bit confusing, but I liked the idea of having to plan ahead to make sure my pieces weren't self-captured.
Interesting environment. I wasn't able to interact with objects or the environment for some reason, even after reading the instructions. Also at some point the ant just started moving by itself and I couldn't control it haha
I felt quite disoriented throughout the game which I think is part of the point. The music makes me feel uneasy and I think that's also the point. I really didn't understand what the objective of the game was, it was very unclear. Like everyone else said, some tutorial is needed.
Nice to see other Godot games :)
I liked the ambiance a lot, but I wish there were more enemies at the start and that there was less downtime. Also the game crashed once the monster got me. Overall I like the PS1-esque aesthetic, but I was hoping to just mow down hordes of enemies
Interesting to see a card game submission. Pretty clever stuff and I like that anybody with a deck of cards can play
Really well done. I was a big fan of Doodle Jump as a kid, so obviously this was my cup of tea ;)
For a first game and first time artist/producer, you should be very proud. This is better than the average game I've played from this year's compo and that includes games from people who've competed dozens of times.
Give me some south-park esque vibes to the graphics. The court was kind of disorienting and I found that spamming WASD at the same time when the were at the judge was a very effective strategy since I couldn't process them that quickly. The sounds were a bit jarring, but I get the limitation since it was a jam
@benbennett thanks for the feedback! I added the sfx in the last hour before submission to give it a little more feedback and I didn't want them to mess with the music. Also glad you didn't run into problems on Chrome. The issue I've found is that a double click is sometimes needed to fire the laser.
@damnscout I appreciate the feedback. I think other control schemes could've worked better, but using the mouse for aiming was quick and easy to implement and in general I like mouse control.
@agyrzstar Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the feedback :)
@stamestratagem I appreciate the feedback -- I changed the background image and BG2 color on itch to make this less of a problem for future players
@pkenney Thanks for all of the feedback!
I'm sorry you weren't able to fullscreen on the Windows build -- I'm able to by just clicking "Maximize" on the window itself. I didn't even know alt+enter was a common fullscreen bind, I've only ever clicked to maximize or used F11 or Win+Up.
Regarding the key/satellite mapping, I totally understand this criticism. I actually considered having them be in an Up/Down/Left/Right orientation to make the key mapping more intuitive and even considered using a circular playing window to make sure none of the lasers had an advantage, but ultimately decided to stick with the first scheme I implemented. I was considering doing a pure mouse implementation since I'll potentially port this to mobile where it'll need to work with just touch/dragging. I also wanted to have an upgrade system with different types of satellites that could be selected via clicking, but scrapped that idea to hang out with some friends Sunday night haha.
Genuinely appreciate the comments and I didn't take them negatively at all -- criticism is much appreciated.
Glad to see a fellow Godot user :). Getting pretty bad performance on my machine (I do have a GTX 660 to be fair). Also in the UI, the audio is panned to the left, did you use an AudioStreamPlayer3D or 2D there on accident? By default I believe 2D is panned to the left, at least it was whenever I used it. Sounds fine in the actual game though!
That was really enjoyable. I wish I had the ability to make more money so I could skip more and place better pipes -- it was frustrating to have that control taken away. But it was a lot of fun!
Can't play on itch
Honestly really well done, really cool to see something hashed out from someone young. Pretty fun to schmove around and dodge the evil squares and I really like the effects on the shapes and the background music is very effective.
Nice little game! I love quick clickers so this was quite fun
Very cool game. Really like the aesthetic. The art and music go really well together. Enjoyed the experience :)
Graphically very impressive for a compo submission. I checked out your YouTube channel and saw you have a bunch of tutorials on making this type of art really quickly. Without even watching them I can tell they're useful if you can crank these assets out for this compo haha. Well done!
That was an absolute pleasure to play. Very well crafted game, levels were just challenging enough and very polished, probably the best compo submission I've played this LD. I enjoyed the particle swarm animation transition between levels and the one button mechanic. I could see this easily being developed into a successful full release. Kudos!
Wow, a great submission. I watched that video as well and was really impressed with how they did. I thought my handwriting was bad until I watched that/played this game! This would be a great way to (ethically dubiously) collect more training data for classification if you had users label individual characters ;)
A fun puzzle game, I really enjoy these pattern recognition games
Awesome game! I also did a hex-based puzzler, so I might be biased haha. I really enjoyed the music. The game reminds me a lot of the line and dot game I used to play back in school. This has a lot of character and that's hard to pull off in such a short time -- kudos.

Really liked the music! A good game, solid assets, fits the theme well
Really fun game! I *may* have busted out the autoclicker just to speed things up a bit, but it was actually fun to play. I'm not typically a fan of the clicker genre, but a clicker themed around managing an expanding empire was more up my alley than others I've seen. Sticks to the theme well, implementation is clean and seemed bug free, and an overall engaging experience -- well done :)
Solid sountrack! I definitely boppin my head haha. I liked this proof of concept! I tried to rotate as little as possible since I found it was the hardest thing to control, but I like the dual aiming concept. Voice effects were great, and the enemies were giving me huge minecraft Steve vibes lol
This was a fun game! I found that on mouse at least the aiming speed was a bit sluggish compared to what I'm used to, but I was able to get the hang of it. I really like how you can try to manage the boxes in the center and have them lob mail directly into trucks for you, but it's also very satisfying to just launch them into the street haha. Solid submission!
I really enjoyed the super bounce on the mushrooms, feels good to land them.
Beautiful art. I was definitely not expecting the game mechanics utilized given that style! Also sometimes the model would pass right through one of the objectives and nothing would happen.
It's cool seeing a 3D game from Godot in the jam! This is a fun one to just schmoove around in, I wish there were some more movement mechanics since that's the most fun thing in 3D worlds for me. A cool take on the theme, music works well with the environment and gameplay. Nicely done :)
This was a fun game! The jump -> dash -> double jump felt really clean and the world was interesting to traverse. A creative take on the theme as well, definitely didn't expect to see any umbrella delivery games :)
Overall a nice submission! The art is very clean, music is mellow and compliments the art well. The mechanics are intuitive and the instructions are short and effective. I will say that it was a bit challenging to select the tile I wanted to interact with, which feels bad on timed games. However, it works well enough, so well done!
Genuinely enjoyed the physics on swinging, really makes you really *feel* like spiderman. Good submission
Really cool take on the theme! I love the tardigrades, animations of the viruses surrounding the cells are great, and the overall game is tranquil and very satisfying to play. Solid submission :)
Really unique game! I love word games and this was a lot of fun. I used to play competitive Scrabble, so I was a bit disappointed I couldn't crank out any 2 letter words or obscure 3 letter ones, but it was a lot of fun just the same. I think this has a lot of potential! Also, would be a game that's relatively easy to translate to other languages or even arbitrary rulesets by changing the corpus which is cool!
I love this game, my favorite of the submissions I've played so far. I wish there were some explosion/placing sound effects, but otherwise this game is perfect. It's funny, art is clean, pleasant, and consistent, and I mean c'mon, I can draw arbitrarily shaped bombs -- amazing.
Also I love levels 9 & 10 (not sure if this is how they were supposed to be done) bombxpress.gif
Great submission! This would've been a game I played all of the time back in grade school haha. I do wish the tilting was more responsive, felt a bit delayed, but effective. I think the game could've worked without shooting the enemies since you already have to shoot all of that 'za
Great entry, one of my favorites this jam! Music was on point, art was clean, and the idea and implementation were both great/executed well.
I did notice that you can cheese the game a bit by walking over the sentries -- this puzzle in the gif was still difficult even with this in mind, but it did essentially nullify the throwing boxes for breaking line of sight mechanics.
dvs.gif
Impressive submission -- some of these fonts are really convincingly bad hand writing haha. It took me a bit to get into the groove, but once I got into the swing of things it was fun and relaxing. A nice take on the theme and a well executed game!
Really clean art and UI for this game! I think this works well as a concept for an overworld kingdom management-style game! I think there could have been more telegraphing in terms of how long each destination would take, but you definitely build intuition over it. Overall I liked this take on the theme and the experience was very pleasant and smooth.
monster_mail.png
Overall a great submission! Rat controls are clean, mazes are interesting enough to solve given the speed challenge. I think the exits being marked more clearly would've helped, but I managed to find my way so it was obviously good enough!
Great submission. Art is beautiful, music is rockin, storyline is consistent and the characters are cute, diverse, and likable. Really impressive, well done!
Love the music and audio in general! I'm not a big idle fan, but this was implemented well. Great submission!
Art and music are nice and pair well together! I think the mechanic is interesting, but I can't seem to accurately get the babies delivered.
I liked this submission! I think delivering orders to people is intuitive, yet something I haven't seen many people explore this jam. Instructions were clear, animations were solid. Personally I'm not a fan of digitally controlling isometric games like this since the mapping is off by 90 degrees in my head, but I managed to figure it out and enjoy the game.
Thanks for all of the comments everyone -- really appreciate them. I've been reading all of them, just haven't had time to respond.
@dearkh @randompickle13 @evogengames @rjerez192 @pincushion @moebiusmeow @squidgod @harmadillo @cheaptoads @droiddare - Thank you for the compliments on the vibe/music. I had a general idea of the type of game I wanted and then started with the music/voice lines since they're the easiest for me to crank out and can have a huge impact. Glad it resonated with people :)
@rngames @linus-lindberg @coderaurus - AI had to be intentionally nerfed unfortunately. 3 of the 5 bosses are fully random while Orlox and Q'oz alternate from choosing a random tile on the optimal AStar path and random tiles depending on the length of your path. The reason they needed to be nerfed is without additional mechanics, optimal play for the AI ends up being stalling indefinitely until the round limit is reached. There were mechanics I intended to add to solve this problem such as claiming tiles as enemy/player and receiving special abilities after defeating enemies that could be used to beat the optimal play. A quick fix would've been to disallow the soul from being "trapped" on a tile at the end of a round, but I baked this in for a different unimplemented mechanic (lesson learned).
@snakemuho - No :smiling_imp:
Got stuck in the final area, not quite sure how to get passed
@FoggyDude Check image. Played it back to get there. Also to even cross those pits I had to noclip into the floor, not sure if that was intended haha.
sole.png
That music was absolutely banging. Really fun to control. idk if infinite jumping was intended, but you can infinite jump alongside a wall. Also I got my head stuck in a box at some point and couldn't continue (while fighting the flying guy)
moist_box.png
Fun entry! Interesting controlling scheme, really cool art style and the music vibes well. I love that you get plopped back down where you start after jumping into the sorting funnel haha.
Congrats on finishing your first game! Shoutout to Cuddles' grandmother
Very cozy indeed. This is a very relaxing game, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great submission :)
An interesting game, always good to see a deck builder. I think I would've fared better if I didn't play this immediately after being awake for 36 hours, but it's a good submission!
Solid physics -- I thoroughly enjoyed yeeting packaged into the star. I think objectives would've made things a bit more engaging, but overall this is a fun and creative entry!
A cool game! I like these branched gameplay, reminds me of FTL/Slay the Spire. It seemed like most of the time I could mindlessly attack, but then I died so I tried something else out. A good submission!
A cute game! It suits the theme well, and it's smooth to play.
Interesting game and congratulations on completing your first game jam!
also @sdelay can Godot 4 even export to web? I thought that was only available up to 3.5
Really cool game! Controls are difficult (as I imagine was intended), but was definitely fun. Music and art go really well together and are both delightful. Solid submission!
Solid art and audio! Game is cute. I think the experience would've been better (for me) if tiles were all visible at the onset, but I respect the choice to have an exploration component.
Wasn't expecting to see a Bloxorz-like in this jam! Honestly was difficult to figure out the solutions. Sound effects were really pleasant!
Excellent submission! I can't believe you were able to include so many permutations of activities in such a way that seemed fluid. The art is effective, music is good, story is engaging, and it's a unique and successful endeavor. Also as far as I'm concerned, I got the correct ending, the church has been forgiven for far too long
Screenshot 2024-04-15 214220.png
Excellent game as always, I see you've also been inspired by playing a lot of Balatro ;)
There seems to be a bug where various members are called Sherif. ~~Also, I had a skele from the necromancer, then he was supposed to spawn another (there was room), but my first skele was just teleported to the last available location.~~ Got some bad RNG on the first few runs, but overall a great submission.
Great use of the copyright lift btw
edit: upon replaying I realized the exact interaction as written is what happened and the first skele died and then a new one was spawned :)
Screenshot 2024-04-14 195631.png
the real winner was the spirit of easter all along.
Fun submission, still not sure what all of the ingredients were but the game looked solid and played smoothly!
A fun Sokoban! There's an unintended mechanic I abused where you can drop a crate on your wizard and still proceed. This lets you solve some puzzles trivially, but a lot of the ones with space restrictions and gates were not as affected. Overall well done!
The character is quite finnicky to control, but it's very satisfying to go super fast once you get the hang of it. I tried to do a lot of mid-air obstacle jumping, but it didn't work most of the time since if you're even a little off on the collision box you just instantly die haha
Solid entry, very clean graphics. Fairly unique too out of the rune-drawing entries
Very well executed. I've never played vampire survivors, but I've really enjoyed the survivor-likes I've run into and this one is the best so far! Art is great, gameplay loop is well telegraphed, and everything runs smoothly, well done!
I like the mechanics and I think the art is very well done and suits the game well. The different demons all go very well together. Unfortunately there's a bug on level 5 where I died with summoning still active and was not able to restart the level
I enjoyed this game quite a lot! However, I kept closing the window on accident on Firefox since I'm using WASD and dodge with right ctrl. Ctrl + W closes the window! Who knew!
Anyway, I think the game itself is really well made. Great audio, great graphics, and a very engaging and challenging core game. Very solid submission!
I like the aesthetic, I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong, but I couldn't kill the weird antler guys. Hit one a bunch of times and it didn't seem like anything was happening. I was able to sacrifice a corpse on a stump and open a secret path, which I very much enjoyed!
Very nice! I got all the way through it and enjoyed it for the most part. I do wish the game was much faster at the onset. 1.5 felt still too easy, but was a good pace. I just chose increase speed every time. Also I would introduce the black keys sooner and (I'm sure you already thought of this) but have multi-notes to spice things up :)
@coderaurus I'm right there with you haha, you spend so much time making sure all of the systems work (most of the time) and limiting the scope to the thing you know for sure will work is a hard, but a good decision to make. Plus the game was still fun without it so I'd consider it the right decision :)
@fredrik-andersson thanks for reporting this -- do you remember a specific time it was happening? The Windows version should run fine. Unfortunately Godot 4.x's HTML5 exporting is much worse than Godot 3.x's and there are certain lagspikes that occur consistently at places across devices, but their severity seems to differ quite a lot and I'm not sure why.
@zimny11 Thanks for playing it and for your comments! The UI system certainly has a lot of room for improvement in terms of explaining combinations, clarity of special cards, etc.. I'll probably do a post-jam version with improvements like this and add more puzzles and bug fixes :)
The real villains were the Kevins we met along the way.
This is sick! Big fan of deckbuilders, I built a prototype for a deckbuilding system for the compo, but didn't actually include any deckbuilding elements to make sure I could balance the puzzles for the jam. So I'm super impressed with this submission since this is a fully fledged experience! Kudos
Excellent soundtrack, and the assets are very effective for this style of game. I'm fairly sleep deprived so I was pretty bad at it haha
I liked this! I think the art is very effective and the little guys are really cute. Audio is minimalistic, but effective. I just wish I could kill them faster >:)

Nicely executed! The art is very nice and the puzzles are well designed.
Got a 7 minute run! I'm a big fan of dodging games like this. I think I could've essentially gone forever since I got the hang of manipulating the enemy's bullets. I honestly wasn't even shooting them or using the divninities because I was happy just dodging haha
I definitely did not draw a dick
