I kept getting lost, and I when I finally made a concerted effort to take a collected plant back to the nest, I couldn't figure out what to do with it. I think a little more hand-holding at the start would go a long way. I wasn't sure what the 'inevitable' was. Otherwise, I liked the art and unusual very close topdown perspective!

The choice of an ant as the main character is novel.

It could have been interesting to switch the camera viewpoint from up above (from where we humans look down at the ant and its world) to an ant's view of the world, with plants and shrubs providing a canopy and temporary shelter from the rain until the eventual deluge, which I assume is what the water level indicator at the top-right of the screen is for.

The atmosphere is very nice, although maybe a little more light would help to navigate around. I also appreciate the use of noise for rain sounds, although it got annoying after a while(the mute button wasn't working either). Add a few more mechanics and I think this would be pretty solid!

That was a really cool experience! The art was cool, the controls were fun! I couldn't interact with most of the plants, but I had a good time just walking around even :joy:

Neat idea! I was able to place one plant, but I'm not where I was so I never got a second one placed. Does the game freeze when the water level reaches the max? How did you create the rain sound? I don't live in an area with constant rain so I would have to get creative (shower, perhaps?) :)

@victris-games haha it's just pink noise

Exploring the anthill was extremely fun even if I wasn't doing the objective! If you had extra time, a minimap of the anthill's holes or the surrounding area would have done wonders for this game.

Overall I still very much enjoyed it and the atmosphere it presented. Nice work!

I love the use of 3D environment in a top-down approach. Some things to improve on: The lighting makes it hard to navigate, which could add to gameplay difficulty, but in this case only adds frustration. I also had issues being able to pick up some plants. Not sure if that was a bug or a feature.

Overall I think it's a great project that has a lot of potential for future development.

Interesting environment. I wasn't able to interact with objects or the environment for some reason, even after reading the instructions. Also at some point the ant just started moving by itself and I couldn't control it haha

I love the ambition! Very atmospheric and nice idea. There are some control and visibility issues though. I managed to get two plants back to the mound but after that I couldn't pick up any more plants. I like how it's randomly generated.

This looks like a very ambitious game. I liked the overall fell of the movements and the atmosphere. The only issue is very limited communication between the game and the player. You often find yourself completely on your own.

I love games where you are small and run around the normal world. Definitely an ambitious entry.

The tunnels are really cool. I didn't realize I could go through them at first.

zimny11 2022-04-10 23:04

Cool game concept! The anthill looks super cool inside. Well done :)

You did a great job with the overall atmosphere though I found myself getting lost both in where to go and what to do. Sometimes I would find a plant but would be unable to pick it up. Additionally, I would suggest a mini map or maybe some arrows pointing the player to plants that they could use. Past that however the graphics were great and the rain in the background added a lot, solid entry!

Thank you everyone for your feedback! I still have some inspiration to work on this project, so maybe I will fix the issues you mentioned and add some new features in future! You can follow me on instagram @ambear1337 to keep your eye for updates!
