For all those giving feedback it would be awesome if you could send your time to see how far you got! My record is 6.50
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD50 → Scarecrow Swarm

I got to about 6 minutes. The fps on it is kinda low, I would play it longer if I had time. Good game.
Well i did test the game and it was really great, just i think the "drug" effect was a bit too much. But i liked how it worked so far.
Quite a good game. Good job :). The biggest problem was the mouse that was not locked on the html5 version of the game. G
@reygis @rollyrollin @snowycocoon thanks so much for the feedback! I definitely think there was some improvements to be made, I'll try to make note of it for next time.
Cool 3D brawler! The animations and 3D models look great. The motion blur is definitely too much, it made me nauseous. As others have mentioned locking the cursor would help with playability as well. I couldn't make it too far unfortunately since it was making me feel sick. That said, there is definitely lots of potential here, nice work!
First of all, very nice visually, the artstyle look great:D I think the combat could use some improvements in feedback and general feel but I know that melee combat is no easy task, especially for gamejam. Overall great job! Hope you had a fun jam :D
Getting some serious performance issues when there are multiple enemies on the screen
A few performance issues but overall a great game , it was fun. I felt like the post processing was a little over the top especially with the motion blur. Over all fun and kept with the theme Great job!
I found the camera movement a bit uncomfortable, but I did like the models and animations... I think it has potential to become a great game. Nice job, and I hope you get more ratings!
@mactinite @theheheo @ollie-d @thementalsheep @jacinto-mba Thankyou for your feedback! I agree I didn't do much for framerate optimization and right before I released the game I decided to bump up the post processing which probably wasn't a great idea. But thanks for playing and the valuable critic!
This game is insane and confusing.
Fun game, easy to get in and play, with good visuals, specially for a jam ^^
Graphics and animations are well done. I didn't really have fun with it though, for a few reasons. (played HTML5 version, btw)
1. Whatever the "crow" mechanic was, it didn't work for me. Pressing Q did nothing, whether near a pole with a crow or not.
2. The punch animation seems way too slow and hard to connect. Even when I did connect with it (many times in a row) the target never went down. As near as I can tell from my playing, it did zero damage.
3. Relatedly, the game would often bug out and clicking wouldn't even trigger the attack. At least the roll always worked though.
Hard to say how widespread those issues are though. Could be just an unfortunate mix of my particular PC hardware and itch.io's WebGL? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So, I'd say it has promise, but needs a lot of work. As I mentioned, visuals are great!
@saintchristopher777 I greatly appreciate the detailed feedback. As far as the issues you mention, the first is that you have to punch and knockdown the light post and then the crows fall and you get them, I probably should've explained that a little better. The hitboxes could've been readjusted, and the punching wasn't great as I made him stop running in order to punch. As far as the bugging and low fps that is probably as a result of no html optimization. I don't really know much about Unity's HTML Build, and I've only built a game once before for HTML and it worked out fine... this was a significantly bigger project though and I didn't account for it. In the future I'll definitely do more research on html and android builds to improve framerate and lower possible glitches and bugging/
Pretty fun beat'em up gameplay! I liked how snappy the roll felt and the distance and speed it moved you felt about perfect. Hits also felt appropriately juicy! And I liked the art direction for the characters in game, especially Clyde.
Mechanically I think a bit more in game direction is needed though. I didn't realize the crows were a mechanic until I read the comments, and some guiding text to lead you to try it would have been good. I also felt the mouse sensitivity was a touch high at times.
Overall its rough but a very impressive solo feat!
