Super nice game! Love the low low pixel style, and the puzzle/ time attack of putting fires out. Great stuff <3

Super nice game! Love the low low pixel style, and the puzzle/ time attack of putting fires out. Great stuff <3
It took me a few runs to notice the dragon was enjoying it. Oh god... this is great!
I have such a soft spot for glowy weapon effects! This is pretty cool, felt like TRON or those movies from the 90's about hackers and stuff. Good effort!
I like the controls! Nice challenge navigating the bones and stuff, but some others have said this, sometimes you can't get past and time runs out becuase nowhere to go. Woulda been cool to see the mole explode or something :P
The guitar track is exactly the kind of "sad crap" I would play endlessly as a teenager :P
I didn't get very far though cause the controls were all floaty and weird. The lighting of the character and other things in the world is lovely, I gotta go learn how to do that. Controls aside, this would have been fun to finish I'm sure.
Immediately hooked! Great music and simple yet addictive gameplay. The page is also nicely laid out, the sign of a pro. There was one thing, maybe intentional, the delay after landing on the tile below before you start smashing buttons again. That was a tiny bit annoying but didn't detract from the overall experience.
"I know how to ride horses and break rocks!" <3
This game had pretty animations animations, great music, and a clear presence.
I was having a nice relaxing time until SUDDENLY LAVA!? Then a mad panic but I only survived about a minute after that. Great fun, well done friend!
This made me panic so hard! I am so bad at micro management but I really tried cause this was genuinely fun to play and try to go further. Well done! Having the buttons indicated in game space is a nice touch, like on the radar panel, definitely going to learn that trick for future works.
I added this game to my browser favourites. The concept is pure genious, and instantly my favourite jam entry of LD48 so far. I think I played for nearly a hour before realising I need to check out other peoples' games!
If there's anything you could add that would enhance the otherwise simple and brilliant experience you already have, it's MORE JUICE! Particles and stuff to celebrate each and every death, and something cool happen when a turret levels up?
This is awesome. I love it.
The main battle music reminded me of F Zero X on the N64! Pretty cool stuff, I got to level 19 without dying so I don't know if there were more spells? I played it like Path of Exile, go for damage and cooldown reduction! Art style was really nice and cutesy lighthearted.
The hitboxes on the boss that spawn those blue circles were too big though and I them on the first pixel contact, so that's one thing that could improve the feel of the fighting. Good work!
Aw so I nearly beat it without realising! Bummer!
Managed to get $1000! The first spider battle caught me off guard, was not expecting that! Very nicely done. I think others have mentioned, but I'd like to have seen the two different modes in the same layer almost, so you could focus more on trying to analyse and pick the best spots to dig.
Some of those numbers at the bottom are insane! I got up to 10LY/S so i could see the stars fly past, very nice and chill idle game. Also who doesn't love dragons?
If this had a few art assets to show the purpose of each thing I can build it would go a long way to help understand, more so than text. Like the diggers could have been drills, and the scanner like a radar icon? The mechanics are interesting, a good start to a relaxing strategy game. Would love to see if you do any more work on this after the jam!
Really nice! Tight controls and great music. Feels like it would play great with touch controls. :)
Lovely lovely lovely! The music really make me bop in my chair while playing. Weird audio issues after a few scans, no idea what's going on in the background to make the performance and stability degrade so quickly.
Game has a great atmosphere, has a lot of potential.
I really liked the chill background music. Wish I could hear it over the drill though :( Got me hooked enough to get the gold drill and "beat" the game.
The whole thing felt like a dream, and quite surreal. I think you nailed atmosphere with the never ending drone, but I'm not sure if I got killed or if I killed the guy at the end when I picked up the blade. I thought I'd done something wrong and broken the game! If you've only been coding for 1 year this is quite an achievement. The text felt slow, but thankfully you gave us space to speed read, great! And lastly, I laughed when the text started shaking for dramatic effect. I wish we'd done that in our game.
That fall! I kept playing just for that! :)
Maaaan! It's a real shame it kept crashing on me, cause I really enjoyed this one! Super simple, but engaging core gameplay. And that sound when you're picking your next host, NICE.
It starts way too fast though, like I had no idea what was going on and suddenly I'm getting ganked by flammenwerfers and noodle ghosts! Give the player a little breathing room at the start to figure the game out.
Overall, very nice, but very unstable.
Love it! At higher speeds it gets real crazy and starts messing with my eyes but I very much enjoyed this. Ragdolls - check! Great tunes - check! Ridiculous gameplay - check! 3/3
Might just be my pc but I felt a delay when trying to click as the segments entered fun town. I lost so many times because it wasn't responding to my input. Same thing for wasm and windows build. Seems like it could get fun and challenging though and I actually wanted to try to get a good score :)
Quite polished for only 12 hours work! If I could suggest a single addition to make this challenge more accessible, the bullet would flash or something as it enters the window of parry opportunity. Without that I found it really hard to gauge how far away it was and failed miserably.
I starved to death. Feels pretty grim, lonely, and hopeless. I think my soup thing wasn't working cause I was getting the required rolls, but hunger never went up. Still, lasted 6 mins.
Needs more challenge! Floor texture scrolling made my eyes hurt :(
I was also terrible at this game! My high score was 300 I think. Trying to jump and walk both in time was surprisingly difficult for me :)
Love the song, and how happy the worm is when they catch you.
🎵You're goooonnaaa diiiiieeee🎵
I couldn't click anything to start it :( Any ideas? Looks fun.
Hehe fox with a jetpack. I agree with @suchista on the jump height / missing platforms that the fox was clearly over. A few more things to interact with that grant you more progress or increase the challenge would be welcomed in a game like this.
The only thing I could ask for is to move faster. Or fly, so I could look upon the glorious world I created :)
bug: I have no idea how I did it, but I managed to get stuck in the "power poop" pose and couldn't move any more.
The first time I painted with my power was definitely a wow moment for me like "oh that's so cool!". I also liked that I could keep powering up in the same place to get more of the rocks and trees in certain areas. There are so many different things you could do with a gameplay mechanic like this.
Nicely done!
I really liked this! Totally feels like a hidden gem. There's loads of gamefeel and positive feedback to let you know if you've done something right. Even though I didn't exactly know what I was doing I knew I had to go up.
Nicely done, had fun with this.
I think I beat the game. I was going up at light speed and then it just stopped following me. I will now sail forever in the infinite void, for I AM THE INEVITABLE NOW.

218 Bugs killed!
Okay this got hectic real quick and I like that a lot. Games like this, I always want to hold down the button to shoot.
The shields UI was hard to read, being the same colour as the actual shields, however it's obvious you're going to die when the bugs decide they've had enough of your crap.
Yessss more destruction! I only made it out with 1237 moneys but those police people will regret chasing me on the wrong side of the road!
There are some very nice gameplay-isms here; I especially appreciated that if I rammed a car sideways fast enough I could send them spinning in one hit. That and tricking police into hitting oncoming vehicles (tricky but doable!). Or just making them crash into eachother.
What would have been extra nice is something like knocking boxes off a delivery truck so the police crash into them, you know something more you can do beyond avoiding or wrecking them directly with your own car. Then by playing smart you could avoid losing precious money to unnecessary collisions.
Really good stuff!
Nice surprise there. Didn't like the jumping much. It felt out of time and slow and floaty and weird. Still I enjoyed it though.
That's some funky music!
Mechanics easily understood at a glance and felt good. I appreciate the addition of the chaser, forcing me to move around the play space instead of hiding in a corner where the infected can't see my herd.
Only thing I felt was missing from the core gameplay was some sounds relating to my abilities and the little dudes getting infected.
Great job guys/gals!
NeonCity_dlG8pkMoX0.png
I only have three pieces of criticism to levy against this as is: - the aliens sound like happy flower friends and not at all scary - it is possible to boost out of the map - I wanted to run those puny little aliens over in my impressive battle machine
Things that would have been super cool: - explosive shells for big bad boom! - running over the aliens - a faster turning turret - napalm
Thoroughly enjoyed this entry! :)
@Skleembof said everything I was going to. If you can make it to turn 90 you can pretty much go for a walk in the park and be back before the enemy completes their turn. I totally wanted to try different strategies with this but didn't want to wait for the enemy to take their turns. I was invested and wanted to play more and last longer!
I do think that the map could have been visually simplified by reducing the space between cubes.
I played on EXTREME MODE and now my finger hurts, but I recycled about 350 items properly! Does that make me a pro? Did I save the world?
No idea, but I had fun!
``` C E Y R C E ! L !
```
I loved how frantic it gets after a few minutes! I'm typically very bad at RTS style games and lose track of what's happening very quickly, but got to 6 mins before my clicky finger and brain couldn't keep up :)
The_Last_Stand_28EuaJJcga.png
I found myself wanting to zoom out more than the game would allow. But I could see this take on the form of an intense incremental style RTS where as you build out more and more, your placement turns from single structures into clusters of structures, or you'd unlock access to more complex buildables like a forward base that would deploy the mine, power, poles and turrets wherever it could within a given range. That may be pretty cool.
Some off screen feedback would be helpful so you know where to focus attention.
Great job!
Shame I can't play this (240hz), it looks really fun.
This was hilarious before I even played it.
Simple idea, great execution.
A small margin for failure woulda been nice though, like at least half of the fillings need to stay on the plate but if you lose a piece of bread then you have failed at sandwich satisfaction.
Liked this a lot!
If you run up and down the arena only the big guys can hit you, but eventually even that tactic fails. Really nice art, was drawn in by the promise of arena combat. Fighting itself, specifically the sword swing was kinda vague. Plus points for blood everywhere!
That last level was a bitch! Finally beat it with.... drum roll....
Paper_Boy_Flying_High_yBORlidvrg.png
Another gem in this jam imo. I kind of got used to how to hit the bubbles, because the plane feels very similar to guided arrows in Assassin's Creed games (bad camera angle, no real feel of trajectory, but if you do it enough your autopilot takes over and you just know if you're gonna hit the target or not). So we'll call that a skill check :D
Lovely art style. And you made all the music too? Wow!
Congrats you guys this was a great experience.
Shooting in time to the music is cool, and you could have leaned into this with the enemies as well. My issues were the enemies are a bit too fast, and too narrow to hit (maybe this part is me sucking dunno).
On each beat of the track, enemy could: pulse toward the player change shape; maybe get fatter for a brief period so they are easier to hit, but only for that short window.
To me, this would enhance the number of "near misses" the player can have, by using the timing to avoid touching enemies when they are smallest and not moving, creating a sort of dance with death.
Anyway that's just my random thoughts, I think there's something really great in hiding in this jam entry!
This was so satisfying to play; level design, the characters actually having character, the puzzles AND the trick solutions. I played for a looong time and thoroughly enjoyed it, everything was spot on.
Really F*ing Well Done!!
Waaaaay! Did a few races with IvoF3412. Dead simple but it's done well. Nice!
Dammit everyone hates me! Took a few rounds to get the idea that I need to strategize.
Good job on making it difficult to cheese the system; I tried segregation of different demographics each time to see if there was a "winning" formula and couldn't find an obvious mechanic skip.
I'm a sucker for low poly art style, so this presentation drew me in very nicely.
You guys played Amnesia, right? This feels exactly like that; terrifying. I couldn't finish it. Found 3 levers and then there was red shit coming after me and I panic Alt f4'd.
This is one of my highest rated games of the jam by far! I hate it! 🤣
We cannot stay so far away to the motherland.
You cannot say that yesterday we are the elephant.
Three times oh guns for getting older.
Stay close four bones for getting colder.
WHAT?
@daniel-foutz heh I was genuinely just typing out what I heard.
Kept getting wrecked by riots. These people don't know what's good for them!
And then this was genius :)
opera_IGX9FyDkLi.png
I like it. Who is the player's worst enemy? The player!
I totally played this because it has cars in it. I believe you made a solid decision on not being able to see the entire level; it exercises the player's memory or lack thereof, so they only hate themselves more when they are sabotaged by their past choices.
This is great, one of the better jam games I've played.
Blood, bullets, chaos! Had to deliberately put it down or I'd be stuck for ages playing this. Great job to all 3 of you!
92 seconds!
You gotta try to keep as much floor connected as you can or else you get stuck and must accept your fate :) and those new floor tiles really don't care about landing somewhere useful do they? Being able to diagonally cross floors made me feel smart, so thank you for that.
Only thing missing is sound, juice, and for the hole to have fire or spikes at the bottom.
This game is insane and confusing.
Art, Music and Atmosphere were all lovely. And then big woosh of flames when you just about save the fire is a nice touch. Well done guys.
I would say moving faster would be nice, but I guess you'd have to go further to find wood or else the game loop would become pointless.
So I see you left out the ability to simply go back to sleep. Too OP? It's my ultimate move!
Changing backgrounds only worked once for me, if that was on purpose then there wasn't any feedback to tell me I couldn't do it again.
Some clicks and clacks when interacting with the apps and games would really sell it, that and groans of boredom? Cause you can only know how motivated you are on the home screen so have no idea if you're missing an opportunity to procrastinate with something else.
Me and my little teddy went into space and we did spacewalking! I know that is absolutely not the intent, but I got a good laugh out of it anyway.
++ Teddy bear can go to space. ++ Teddy bear can get out of the baloon and spacewalk.
Now, onto the game itself.
Felt realistically slow and floaty like a real baloon. I got confused cause I thought I had a moustache (turns out it's just the teddy nose) Nice relaxing music.
I'll be honest I didn't really play once I discovered I could fly away forever :P but I still had fun.
@golin Thank you!
@farzher Yeah we kinda just wanted to make a racing game and try to make it fit the theme. If only Teleportation came up!
@diccuric-sigeon Them's rookie numbers.
@jojopalambas the AI is dumb as rocks. Once you see how it works the illusion is shattered forever 😂
For sure @stin, controls is one the things we're gonna refine in our postjam version.
@mortus Stay tuned for the postjam version. We've got so many ideas thanks to everyone's feedback, and seeing people play it on twitch.
@mathglo aw sorry you got stuck. Put so much effort into getting cars to flip or get out of being stuck on geometry, we didn't get to detecting being out of the playable area. Glad you liked it anyway.
Yes @cslupius driving controls/physics it turns out was really difficult to approach to feeling right. I think we got something passable within the jam time, but I'm keen to revisit this and get closer to the arcadey style we originally imagined. Appreciate the feedback!
I mean, only if you're bad @coggoid ;)
@maxkyckling splitscreen is such a good idea. I've been in my little cave all weekend attacking two core features, driving and AI, to make them just better. Look out for updates 😉
@fromage I like seeing different people's opinion on the driving feel. Some like it, some really don't. I still feel it's not exactly what we want for this project, but it was what we managed to produce within the jam time constraints. Anyway thanks for playing and rating <3
@wolfpredator I can put a donate button on the itch page if you want
( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
@amastryukov You are too kind. Totally gonna push everything further into arcade territory and make it funny fun not serious fun.
@bloodycoin dude I love the text driven commentator idea!
The AI is driven by way points and drive their cars with the same inputs as the player (accel, steering, braking). They just do it in a very simple way, the effect of which you can see at the start of every race where they all slam into the middle of the road because that's where their next way point is. We're going to iterate on that simple design and make it more believable, and hopefully make them into competent racers in the process.
Thanks for the feedback and the cool ideas!
@blooalain @rbn @ben-yazi @ardorugus Thanks for the feedback, and sorry for the crash no idea what that might be :(
Lol I tried to play 5 times and got shot by off screen aggro in 1 second every time. The 6th time I tried to play I was surrounded by sentient sawblades who all immediately decided I was dinner, survived 0.5 seconds that time.
Muahahahahah!
opera_WD7hnFf4Mc.png
I dunno if this was on purpose but to me it felt like my goal was to run out of time on purpose.
Clean platforming controls, nice touch with grabbing edges with your mouth. The music was what kept me playing tbh.
This was cute. You got the timing/spacing on the clock pickups to match well with player skill navigating the platforms. Not sure why the ghost towel was puking but made me want to run away from it for sure! Nice submission :)
So you can leave the game in about 5 seconds, and drive across the void so fast that the police will never ever be able to catch you :p
That aside, I tried actually playing the game and found it pretty fun. The driving felt really icy and had insane acceleration, to the point that it like it was done this way to try to make it harder. That took away from the fun sadly. We had the same trouble in our jam entry so we know the pain.
Very cool! Beautiful colors, crisp clear sounds, precise gameplay loop.
The fact you can never go back to a point you'd been at before was both smart and brutal, really emphasising "go up or go die".
I'd be happier with a bigger clicker to grab onto objects, though.
I couldn't do better than 2min30 because of my poor planning skills :)
Nice relaxing game, well done!
I think I missed the rating window by like a minute!
Nice idea mixing driving with having to do random shit to fix your car. Good ol' multitasking :)
Yeah and creepy stuff behind me whatever that was, love it.
Totally jealous of your track editor! Would have been useful for our jam entry.
I didn't use the drift button ever cause I didn't feel like I needed it.
Weird thing about the ghosts, they only make me want to drive slower and slower each lap as they become more numerous. If they were faster than me it would have increased the panic and intensity overall.
Woulda been nice to have a moment to read and understand the controls before the terror of the oil leak began!
I struggled just to remember which button controlled which arm. If it were my choice, I'd have one button to change which arm I'm controlling, and then arrows/AD to move the active arm section.
Interesting and confusing at the same time. Nice work :)
I found one green flower :)
I don't know how you did it, but this game put me in a really good mood after a crap day of work. Something very peaceful about it.
Controls to exit the car were not explained, but mapped sensibly.
Noticed a bug with the fuel worms: if you just click (not hold) on them they go into a limbo state and you cannot interact them any more.
Really good job!
WHERE THE HELL DO I FIND AN UMBRELLA!? NOOOOOO WHERE IS IT!? *dies with score 26*
God damn this was unexpected and awesome. The pressure of hearing the rifle bolt as your time draws near!
Seriously though, where can I find an umbrella? I feel like I can do better than 26 :)
Update your windows build jeeez.
@phillip-scott Sweaty try hard. Also clearly hacking.
