I like this game! It's a nice concept, I'm sure it can get so much better if you keep working on it!
The camera feels stuck, maybe the player should be able to move it.
Great work!

Great work!
Waiting for your turn is a bit long and in first try I haven't got the idea of what enemies were doing. But it's an interesting game with solid style. I think it was a lot of work to make this game through the end, coding and balancing things. Thank you for your submission and have a good luck with new games!
Thanks for the feedback @rodrigo-montenegro, @maratg2 . @rodrigo-montenegro the camera can be buggy sometimes you can move it by positioning the mouse close to the edge of the screen, but only whithin some bound and sometimes zooming and screenshake can take it out of them and you have to go the opposite way.
Very catchy, but simple, graphics. The feedback and info about my ships was a little poor, but I still took a fight!
not bad great idea for that gameplay
Glad you've enjoyed your first Ludum Dare! It's really a nice event and the first time is a very special experience. Your game works pretty well, but I feel the UI could be improved, it's quite hard to understand what to do at first.
By the way, if you don't like the theme, feel free to ignore it! It's really not mandatory, even if most people choose to follow it.
(i did'nt rate you on humor, because your game is not really humoristic, you should maybe opt-out of this category?)
Good job! I couldn't make it past the second wave, but it was still fun.
Thanks for the feedback @vetu11, @bios3008, @chocolat-endive, @theslate. @chocolat-endive it is not my first LD, I just havent participated in the last couple ones, on not understanding what to do I feel you , but as always in gamejams I didn't have time and brain cells toward the end to implement some sort of "how to play". :)
Great idea for a game, it has potential. It's obvious that you worked very hard on its mechanics ;). Well done!!!
I was very confused by the range each ship had. Maybe an indicator would be nice. Also is it just me or did everything oneshot everything?
The balance needs some adjustments imo. As some pointed out the camera feels strange at times - i figured out that you can move it with mouse-to-edge but it doesnt work towards the bottom for some reason.
I think you choose a very ambitious project for your first LD. It is generally worth it to scope smaller but finishing more polished. With that said i think its really astonishing that you finished. I remember failing my first two jams because of time/scope problems - so good job in any case!
Hope to see you next LD as well.
Edit: Sorry didnt see its not your first LD xD - didnt mean to belittle or something
Thanks for the feedback @seniorwombat @willoxs! @willoxs it is not my first LD, I just havent participated in the last couple ones, as for the balance I know that it isn't good, I just didn't have the mental strenght to finish it on the third day XD. See you next LD!
I like the idea. It has potential but needs more work in its current state. It was very confusing in the beginning.
Also as mentioned already it can take quite some time until the enemy turn is finished. I didn't even know why I couldn't control my units until I discovered the zoom and saw the other enemies moving
As for turn based strategy I really like to have all the information I can get. Which enemy moves next (attack order), what is its attack range, what does it attack with, actual damage and hp values. Same for the units the player is controlling.
Still an interesting concept. But maybe too big of a scope for a game jam. Anyway good job and keep it up!
this is a solid prototype to build off of. i did not last long at all but the unit variety was cool even if the tanks just destroyed everything. i think had the balance been improved i would have stuck with it for considerably longer. the enemy designs were cool and the overall cyber aesthetic was well put together
The UI is very confusing and the massive map with the weird design immediately gives the impression that this is going to be a very complicated game. Once I figured it out I began to enjoy it, but some issues dragged it down
First, the game is totally unbalanced which I understand is kind of the point, since losing is supposed to be inevitable, but it just feels bad for this type of game. I think you can balance it by giving the player units a lot more action points. Let the player kill multiple ships each turn, maybe even enough to clear the map until they start to feel comfortable with the different ship types and their abilities. Then just start spawning enough ships to make winning impossible. You should also add some sort of cover in the world so the player can get strategic with their movements. Give the player enough of a chance to survive so they don't feel like there was absolutely nothing they could do to last just one more turn.
Waiting for your turn is also kind of annoying since there are so many enemy units. I think you should speed up the enemy movements so that the player isn't waiting so long. The actual wait time isn't that bad but it feels bad because of how short your turn is compared to the enemy. Giving the player more action points to extend their turn could remedy this
The current/next UI element is kind of pointless since you don't know which enemy is which and you can't really do anything with that information anyways. I found it distracting at the beginning and it definitely added to the confusion.
As for positives, the graphics look nice, especially the particle effects. Moving your ships, issuing attack orders feels responsive and satisfying. You have a good game here but with some issues that you could hammer out if you decide to keep working on it. Good job making this in 72 hours
@skleembof thank you so much for the detailed feedback!
I have no idea what is happening.
@Skleembof said everything I was going to. If you can make it to turn 90 you can pretty much go for a walk in the park and be back before the enemy completes their turn. I totally wanted to try different strategies with this but didn't want to wait for the enemy to take their turns. I was invested and wanted to play more and last longer!
I do think that the map could have been visually simplified by reducing the space between cubes.
@autogibbon thank you for the feedback!
Nice voxel graphics. Probably the one thing that would enhance this game the most would be something showing who the active unit is, and have the camera automatically move to the active unit. Nice concept, well done
Very ambitious.
