LD42 — Running out of space

Breathing Space by goffmog 2018-08-23T00:00:33Z

Ran out of space and died both times I played. Could make it a little smoother by having the two options on either side of the card to start with, rather than having to wiggle every card back and forth before making a choice. Not really sure how to win, but called it quits after I started seeing the same scenarios pop up in one playthrough

Pianobots by fonserbc 2018-08-31T16:39:48Z

Interesting idea. Unlike most of the other games where running out of space is a hindrance, I found it to actually be helpful, i.e. when you have a collision, it helps rule out a combination quickly and far more obviously than trying to figure out which ones are correct musically, especially since having a discordant note or two doesn't make it wrong.

Maybe you should put in a "hint" on what the key signature means for people who are less educated musically, I had to double check what the diatonic notes were for the dorian mode!

Crystalmancer by Crowno 2018-09-02T21:01:15Z

Great entry! The graphics and sound perfectly capture the original gameboy aesthetic. Controls are smooth, though hitboxes are a bit wonky, especially spiders when they are mid jump and the floating spheres. The biggest drawback is, I never felt like I was running out of space. I see where you were working toward the theme with the enemies dropping crystal shards when they died, but since you can easily clear them and move on to a clean screen, it felt more like a side-effect than a theme. Also, with how many enemies are packed into some rooms, it can be hard to maneuver, heals are few and far between, the the "life" of a heal is really short when you have to dig it out of crystal shards. Still, amazing job!

Space(bar)Invaders by Carraka 2018-08-22T16:45:02Z

@mao @roman-petrov the most common critique we've received is that the game is a bit too hard, so we've gone and updated the difficulty curve a bit. Now there are fewer glitches but higher clear percentages, as well as a few different styles of levels. Also, @gudval @axoona, in addition to the tutorial, the game now has a "post-it" note on the side of the monitor with instructions after the difficulty level change. All updates are in the "Now with more cats edition"

Thank you everyone for your great feedback, and thank you for playing our game.

Roguenoc by gustavo.christino 2018-08-23T00:12:48Z

Interesting idea, and awesome job writing a maze generation script! I also couldn't figure out how to get it to show the character on your intro, I always had the cube graphics, though the mushrooms were correct. Also, turning is PAINFULLY slow, maybe you could incorporate a WASD + mouse movement, or increase the turn speed. Nice jam!

Space Invader - File Explorer Edition by MadreDeDios 2018-08-31T17:00:00Z

Wow, great job creating such a detailed file system in such a short time! Lost so much time on the "allow file explorer to make changes" when deleting viruses from the OS folders. But you should probably disable your audio rating since the sounds used are not original.

Day Three by EdwinGameDev 2018-08-21T04:56:43Z

Pretty good entry, I love the GBC feel to the graphics and controls. I never felt like running out of space was an issue, it was more a practical issue of being able to keep your plants watered before they died, so it was more a game of not enough time than running out of space. Still, good job!

Spacebars by The Triumvirate 2018-08-23T00:41:33Z

You actually took the same twist on the theme that my team did!

Nice chip tune for the music, and I love the foreground tiles pressing and depressing with your keystrokes.

I feel like thanks to having exactly the number of jumps you need on some of the levels, it forces pixel perfect jumps, which can be somewhat frustrating. Also, it would be nice if each options activated with just the first letter (which can be indicated with an underlined letter) rather than having to type the whole word.

Dice Blackout by GreenAndSubmarine 2018-08-23T00:20:06Z

Not a bad concept, but pretty easy when you just have to check for "6-5-4" every time. Maybe you could spice it up by adding different size dice, like 8-sided or 12-sided.

Also, your game scared the hell out of my AVG

Space Survivor by ArdaGk 2018-08-21T07:04:02Z

Good graphics, straightfoward controls. Enemies spawn way too fast, so it's very easy to get shot down in under 10 seconds. A bit more of an explanation of how to play (i.e. what do wrenches do?) would be helpful as job. Still, nicely done!

Screen Space Defender by Balance686 2018-08-24T15:23:55Z

nice job. Decent variety of images, but some of them got a bit confusing when 2 pieces were totally interchangable. I could see why you'd have a delay after selecting both to make room for the swapping animation, but the lag between clicking the two pieces to be swapped was painful. Overall, nice job!

Oniria Times by 0nironauta 2018-08-16T15:59:53Z

Very amusing news stories. Well done

Devil Warship Makujin by Ceuteum 2018-08-24T18:59:05Z

Not a bad space dog-fighter. Nice music and sound effects too.

The controls made it really hard to aim, and the enemies rotate so fast that any time you try to shoot them, they are pointed right back at you, so you can't aim a good shot before they shoot back. Also, having to restart the game each time you game over is inconvenient.

I wish I could have seen level 3

Popcorn Mayhem by Cary Stanley 2018-08-24T07:41:39Z

Super cute. This time a round I've seen a lot of "Shrinking island" or "wall of death" games, but outrunning popcorn and actually being able to use it as a platform in while rounding corners around stairs actually is handy at times. The popcorn popping sound is more on the cartoony side, but it works, it would have been nice to have more sound or music like for getting hit, getting squished, or finishing levels. Stairs can be a little frustrating just because of the way they basically kill any momentum you have and usually taking at least 3 jumps to get up the stairs and round the corner.

Still, very impressive entry for such a short time to work on it!

The Climb by Laughertes 2018-08-21T04:32:50Z

Took a couple tries to get the hang of it. Jumping towards the mouse is kind of awkward, the controls would be simpler if you simply jump in the direction you are traveling

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Fix by harark 2018-12-28T04:32:11Z

Interesting idea and a nice big map to explore, though I couldn't figure out what a lot of the upgrades did. Investing in career and physical were pretty obvious, though investing in pets/music/environment did to help and I couldn't figure out the win condition. Still, nice platformer, and nice investment interface

The Orion Trail by Archimagus 2018-12-04T22:40:06Z

Neat little nod to Oregon Trail. While playing, it seemed like the 50% hits were actually 100% hits. Also, there were a lot of "nontrivial" sacrifices, especially black holes, where'd you frequently get "-25 fuel to escape, or -25 fuel to get water, or -25 fuel to get people." Also, giving up fighters and people was trivial, while you could never have enough fuel or water, so that could use a little rebalancing. I liked the graphics and sound effects/music, I especially liked how it added an extra layer of instruments as you get close to the end. Great job!

Reverse Quest by kleinzach 2018-12-14T03:41:08Z

Fantastic entry! Your reverse Zelda formula really works well with the theme. You already know about the floaty controls, so I'll gloss over that. The biggest thing I would request is up-facing and down-facing sprites, especially when using a bow. I get how using a tall graphic (8 x 16?) makes sense in terms of perspective, but it's a bit awkward having your sword hit into a "blind spot" behind your head, doesn't work particularly in this format IMHO.

For the time you had, your levels are amazing! I loved your Zelda 1 dungeon, and the crystal cave was very nice. Great job!

Demon Queen's Possessions by joh 2018-12-28T04:12:24Z

Nice use of the theme, I liked the ability to upgrade and trade units to get new ones, though it certainly got tricky once units started dying and losing spirit, it was hard to find turns to recover spirit via goats and I never got a chance to capture a product possession.

Lazors by Bingdom 2018-12-05T06:57:43Z

Cool game. I like the multiple levels, the graphics have a very Tron feel. The enemies are a bit too hard to hit and their aim is devastatingly good. My Kill:death ratio when I'm playing is probably around 1:10, the winning strategy seems to be capture the flags and let my computer teammates do the majority of the shooting.

Zoe and the Polypantheon by Carraka 2018-12-07T04:06:49Z

@evgeniya-zapolnova, Ursagames streamed this on his channel. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/345687567, timestamp 15 minutes

Zoe and the Polypantheon by Carraka 2018-12-14T02:10:40Z

Thank you, everyone, for all of your wonderful feedback. I have attempted to incorporate most of the suggestions you all have provided.

@bubblewandgames, @babyking, @terryg, and @mattwagar, there is now a walkthrough available if you would like to go back and discover the remaining ending(s). https://www.instagram.com/p/BrWYXBulNpY/

@archimagus, @joh, @hakar, and @fireslash, sorry for the abrupt ending. We actually only got those in literally minutes before the submission deadline. We have since added a short transition for each ending to go between making the final sacrifice and the ending screen. Also, you can now continue your game from the main menu so you don't have to redo the whole game to get the remaining endings!

@sargonius, @matank, and @arzi, the code seems to be the most common place where users have gotten stuck. There is now a walkthrough available which includes hints as to where all the parts of the code are, and the code itself on the next page. Also, we apologize that the top half of the plaque above the desk was not in the hitbox for that hint, we made the game to accommodate a 16:10 ratio, but did most of the work in 16:9, so we missed the top part! https://www.instagram.com/p/BrWYXBulNpY/

@hectigo, unfortunately, we couldn't really incorporate the feedback you have provided. The journal and brochure need to be available for reference at any time, so spreading out the reading must be done on the user end. Also, while a drag and drop system would make some sense, since everything was creating using unity buttons, it would have been a lot of work to code in for a relatively small improvement, which we did not have had time for in the 72 hour timeframe. Also, drag and drop would have been problematic for a multi-page inventory. Sorry we couldn't implement your suggestions, but thank you for the feedback.

@pablodap, thank you for the feedback. Since the title picture was created by a different artist than the character animator, the style of these two art pieces different, so making them match would be impractical.

And once again, to everyone, thank you for taking the time to play our game!

Nature is Harsh by hav24 2018-12-06T18:27:08Z

Fantastic! Great use of the sacrifice theme. Graphics are cute, sounds are cute, the narration is a nice touch. Well done!

Save The Ginions by ytaha 2018-12-11T09:04:43Z

Great entry! The core gameplay mechanic was solid, graphics and audio were simple but effective. Too bad the genocide option won't actually let you choose it, an alternate ending would have been cool. Nicely done.

Blob Time by sketchycode 2018-12-05T05:09:00Z

Cute idea, leaving bits of yourself behind to solve puzzles. Some of the levels are pretty unforgiving on how much slime you have

Bobby and Nobby by Nobleboy 2018-12-06T19:55:04Z

Well that escalated quickly

The Sacrificial Adventurer by Lexyvil 2018-12-05T04:42:12Z

Nice entry. It's pretty neat how you made multiple ways to get through the levels

Village of Sacrifice - LD43 by backurio 2018-12-05T05:53:07Z

Pretty good, though after a while when the god is demanding 7 or 8 sacrifices at a time, you literally can't produce villagers fast enough

Vegefrice by andremariano 2018-12-05T04:28:37Z

Fun use of tangram puzzles

For Brain ! by nolifedev 2018-12-06T02:31:08Z

YAAAAAAAASSSSSS! This was one of the ideas that my team floated for our jam. We didn't end up going with it (I though it would be a nightmare to code), but I'm glad to see the idea got made. The only thing this game needs is more levels. Nicely done!

Dog Dog Dungeon by bubblewandgames 2018-12-28T03:47:43Z

Cute, fun, and nice puzzles. Great job!

LD45 — Start with nothing

Lost in Translation by Sheepolution 2019-10-31T02:34:05Z

What a delightful game, the music is fantastic, and it's a neat little "puzzle" game trying to figure out the words you need

SOMtHINGa from NoThINGa by Jimbly 2019-10-19T03:26:25Z

Thanks for the fun math game. I enjoyed how you used the word for nothing in various languages as the starting point of several of the levels. Having worked a lot with binary numbers helped a lot :) Also, high score on your bonus level ;)

World Collector by Joe Williamson 2019-10-31T02:22:51Z

Congratulations on #1! Amazing job. Great player control and graphics, beautifully epic music, and nice use of the theme. A well deserved win.

Words With Foes: Quest for the Lexinomicon by MattWoelk 2019-10-19T02:09:03Z

Nicely done! I came here from feedback you left on my team's game, looks like we both decided to run with a word game starting with NOTHING, and both using scrabble scores. It would have been nice to include a health bar for the enemies, but not all RPG/dungeon crawlers use such a mechanic. The music was reminiscent of Celeste, especially in the earlier levels. A way to rearrange the letters in your hand would be nice as well. Very entertaining game, I like the way you incorporated your entire team into the game

TwoFiveFive by mediyaz 2019-10-24T00:15:50Z

Nice and simple controls, the sound effects are well suited to the game. I see how you started working from the theme, but the end result is pretty detached from it. Great logo and animation. Well done.

Palely by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2019-10-18T23:57:40Z

Beautiful entry! I love what you did with the shaders to give the game a very dreamlike feel. My team also did a word-play entry, but it's cool to see the different direction your team took. I was having so much fun finding words to break everything, that by the end of the run I was thinking to myself "maybe I shouldn't break everything, a rock is a lot easier to find than a K in these piles of letters," hahaha.

バクラウBloodless by Danilo Freire 2019-10-19T03:58:19Z

Great entry! A lot of good stuff here. I love the mood and samurai theme, and I love the polishes on it, such as the level number in kanji behind the title of each stage. The graphics are fantastic for the style you were going for and with the limited color pallet you used. The music and sound effects were very good and thematic as well. As previous comments have said, the enemy AI is a bit awkward, the basic movement was a bit sluggish, and I felt the dash wasn't quite right. Felt like the distance you cover is too short for the speed you move at, and the freeze too long at the end of a dash. The knockback from the enemies was a bit too much, and you could really use some i-frames after getting hit, when 2 or 3 enemies are grouped up, that's basically instant death if they hit you. The hit boxes for disarming felt a little strange as well, sometimes you seem to dash through the enemy with neither taking damage or disarming. All in all a great entry. The ending animations were beautiful to see. Well done!

HONK by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2019-10-19T00:50:55Z

Nicely done for a weekends work. The controls are solid, and while one could ask for more features (levels, weapons, feedback such as an angry honk when you get hit), all the core mechanics are there and rock solid. Well done.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Keep IT alive - The daily struggle by Skosnowich 2020-05-01T00:54:26Z

Oh man, so stressful trying to keep up with everyone. I love the IT Crowd references, though at some point I misplaced the one fire extinguisher I could find, so it was only a matter of time until game over with that (lasted 12 minutes)

TITAN, OPSND by Dario Zubovic 2020-05-05T03:52:24Z

you built an ASM parser in 3 days!? Holy shit dude, that's amazing. This is a pretty intense coding on the player end, but I'll probably sit down and play with it when I have more time.

Rock Bottom by Offz 2020-05-02T03:12:23Z

Very impressive work. Pretty straightforward to pick up the game concept, and a good variety of items to play with. Maybe I missed it, but it would be cool if there was a way to rotate items before releasing the rocks.

P4R3NTing 101 by AndideBob 2020-05-01T01:18:00Z

Great touch making a co-op mode! Managed to get through with a D grade. It's kind of hilarious how you can tell all the sounds were made with mouth noises. Gameplay is smooth, and unlike overcooked, you can actually work your way around your partner rather than constantly running into eachother

City Soundscapes by Firesplash Entertainment 2020-04-30T23:59:28Z

The game does appear to freeze after clicking the start button while loading the main scene. The main game feels like a sort of tower defense game. Unfortunately, for some reason some of the speaker arrays just vanish. Looks like you have a nice array of music, but I couldn't get a score high enough to play all but the cheapest

Keep the Dream Alive! by DrumGadget_433 2020-05-06T01:53:56Z

Ah man, got wiped by the heater!

Great job on the sound, the main music loop is catchy, and the cheers and the crack of the hit sound fantastic. As for the gameplay, well, as they say, simple is best.

Keep them alive by Bajtix 2020-05-02T02:08:20Z

pretty good graphics and sound for a 3 day project! The controls felt like they responded differently while shooting, like the direction you are facing is treated as "up" rather than the top of the monitor being up. Also, it's very easy to die when too many enemies spawn close together. Still, well done, this could make an interesting roguelike with a little more polish.

LYMPHOSITE by Saturnyoshi 2020-05-01T00:14:17Z

The menu is super polished, well done! Gameplay is smooth and responsive, and the main game music loop is catchy. Only qualm I have is that I couldn't get any of the upgrades because money drops are kinda rare, and the multiplying virus things can get overwhelming pretty quick

Pixel Pandemic by LKAccidental 2020-05-01T00:32:04Z

This was your first game? Nicely done. Controls are straightfoward and intuitive. I found that the best strategy is to just keep moving. A small graphical improvement that would go a long way is to have rufus and the rats face the direction they are moving.

Sprouting Tale (LD46) by Tony_Artz 2020-05-06T03:17:05Z

Your first game jam, and you did all that by yourself? Well done! I haven't dared to try making a platformer in unity yet, and your runs beautifully. I couldn't get through the first level because I kept running out of water, I wish I could see more of the game.

Snowball by Happy Fish Gaming Co 2020-05-01T01:31:29Z

Cute main music and interesting idea. Could use a little more feedback on the high-jump, and the regular jump is just kind of useless. Only managed to get through the 1st level

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Feed the Bear by Emperor Eagle 2020-10-20T03:13:12Z

Simple and sweet. You say you didn't have much time to work on it, but it looks like you did what you set out to do. Regarding the "slippery" controls some of the other commenters have mentioned, I make the script set the rigidbody velocity x = input axis x * moveSpeed, then you can make it more less slippery by adjusting the gravity of the input axes.

Nicely done.

Devoured by St1ckY 2020-10-20T03:01:21Z

The rewind effect when you wander too far from the light or grab the keys is really cool! Not sure I see what "devoured" has to do with the game, but I only got one of the endings. In the jam version, the rightmost safe (the mirror?) and the cabinet are empty, so perhaps I'm missing some context for the title. Nice game!

Hyper Hamster by Nazorus 2020-10-21T02:00:25Z

Pretty straightforward take on the theme super polished into a wonderfully silly game. I love the electric guitar jamming to a hamster running in its wheel. Nicely done!

Storm Chaser(Fixedlink) by Zjones 2020-10-20T03:29:21Z

Short and simple. It felt like moving to the sides (A and D) overrode your forward movement, not sure if you wanted to restrict movement to 3 directions rather than 8. I hope you'll keep making games!

LD49 — Unstable

Uns-table pumpkins by frederikja163 2021-10-09T20:19:35Z

No game engine? That's really impressive, well done.

Please don't explode ! by Mouf 2021-10-09T20:29:23Z

Not bad. It was kind of hard to tell when things were making the element more unstable, so a little more feedback from the game could have been helpful. The punch also felt a little odd, like the cooldown was a little too long and you couldn't use it while stationary. Nice take on the theme, and well done with the sprite art.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Breakfast Time in Dream Land by rjhelms 2022-04-17T04:25:27Z

Charming game! Controls are tight, graphics are lovely, sounds and cute. It's a little awkward holding left shift to shoot, though I imagine using a controller will fix that.

Rat-Stack by Arend Hintze 2022-04-10T21:44:28Z

Unfortunately, the game window was too tall to be able to see the bottom of the screen, I so I couldn't really play it to evaluate it.

Holy Furbals by commanderstitch 2022-04-17T00:25:07Z

Yeah, waves and waves of monsters is certainly an inevitable death. Nice simple controls, decent graphics and sound. Well done!

HutHut by Mr_Field 2022-04-17T02:51:08Z

The jet mode is smooth and plays well, though the game froze when I had 3 enemy turrets shooting me below 0 HP. Would be nice to pick people up without landing then taking off again. Couldn't really figure out the strategy for build mode, and it would be nice to have a bunch of rails with a single drag and drop. Nice entry!

I Hope You Die The Best Death by peter_sc 2022-04-17T02:38:21Z

Felt strange that all 3 conversation options advanced no matter which one I chose.

Crumbling World by tgiant 2022-04-10T21:58:57Z

Nice touch with the collapsing hexes. A minor gripe I have is that if you shoot while jumping, the Y of the missile is too high to hit any enemies. Otherwise gameplay is tight

The Unfortunate Tale of Mr. Bones by MiltonNH25 2022-04-17T00:54:42Z

Took me a couple tries to figure out where I could put down drills, the hit box is pretty small on the ores. Once I figured that out, I made it up to $3300 payment before I closed the game to rate the next. Nice calming music, though could use a few more sound effects. The dev corner was a nice touch. Good entry!

Housekeep by Roka Josh 2022-04-17T01:07:56Z

Nice simple house, I love the way the rooms rearrange each day. The graphics were simple and easy to figure out what you need to do, though I think the material you use for sinks/tubs that need to be cleaned is broken, they just appear as a purple block. Sound effects were adequate, the music was ambient and creepy, but the loop was a little jarring. Overall, very well done!

Cristalia Time by Luis Felipe Patrocinio 2022-04-10T23:31:35Z

Great entry! Graphics are top notch, with nice little touches here and there, such as the word "entrance" scrambling a little, the screen static, nice why flashes when enemies take damage.

Sound effects are 16-bit era appropriate, the music is catch, though some of the sounds can be a little harsh.z

Player controls are tight, though the warrior class got a really bad deal, maybe if she could kill enemies in 2 hits with the sword and hitting all enemies in the hurt box.

The objective is kind of unclear. I was able to clear out all 9 rooms a few times, but couldn't figure out the win condition.

Very solid entry, it's amazing how polished you made this game in just 72 hours!

The Climber by Necdilzor 2022-04-10T22:18:47Z

Nice straightfoward game. Controls are snappy, though the jumps are a bit floaty.

Attack of the Yellow Things by Beelzeboss 2022-04-17T03:02:02Z

Nice voxel graphics. Probably the one thing that would enhance this game the most would be something showing who the active unit is, and have the camera automatically move to the active unit. Nice concept, well done

Mow Bot by Seng 2022-04-10T21:52:53Z

Nice entry. The gameplay is smooth, the rewind when you run out of lives is a great touch. It reminds me a lot of the puzzles in Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening where you have to fill in the spaces of the holes with a single path.

Nekawa by Akanthaur 2022-04-10T21:23:47Z

Beautiful game! As previously stated, you should hide/lock the cursor, it's a bit disorienting to have the cursor moving but not being useful. Also, it took a bit to figure out that there are double jump and dash commands. But extremely good landscape work, and the theme is very calming. Well done!

Snow Dude! by Zliebowitz 2022-04-17T04:17:21Z

Very cute game, and great polish! The opening had me laughing and excited to play. I love the mechanics of using snowballs to propel him and shrinking him with each jump. The levels do get pretty hard pretty fast, some of them are a little unfair requiring multiple very tight jumps, but overall a very enjoyable entry!

Help! My Cats Become a Demon Lord! by Profugo Barbatus 2022-04-10T23:02:12Z

The cat is very cute, though there isn't really enough time between emails to look away at him without running out of time to reply.

1000 Ducks by Maxwell3000 2022-04-16T05:04:32Z

Fun and silly game! I managed to win, though things certainly get out of hand quickly, especially once you start getting more ducks faster! I especially love the item names, I died almost immediately after buying the M.O.A.Q.

Till It's Over by Kamuniaft 2022-04-17T01:33:30Z

Wow, great atmosphere in this game! I love the lighting effects, especially the way everything casts shadows, and leaving footprints is a great touch. The music is atmostpheric, and the mood is very grim. Great entry!

Duct Tape in Space by DarkWolf 2022-04-17T03:09:59Z

Very hectic exercise in crisis management. Would have been nice to switch between systems with arrow keys. Nice first entry, keep on coding!

THEMARUNGA by Trexxak 2022-04-10T22:14:50Z

A lot going on here. The first level comes and goes way too fast, and the character jump is so floaty the level with multiple platforms is hard to dodge the sideways orb. The voice acting is entertaining, and the music suits the game well.

Resistance is Futile by Warmful 2022-04-10T20:16:43Z

Game plays smoothly, though it's pretty easy to kite enemies indefinitely. It would be nice to have a little more feedback from the game, such as enemies having a sound or animation when they're hit, or when buying an upgrade.

AGAIN! AGAIN! by CrocodileTuesday 2022-04-17T04:32:35Z

Great visuals and interesting concept. The range to aim is a little too limiting, but it's a fun little game.

Some Immortal and a Dead Guy by TornadoPiggie 2022-04-10T21:25:51Z

Same, I download the .exe but it doesn't run anything

Desert trip by Dreamerflow 2022-04-17T02:34:38Z

I tried running it, but when the game started, I could only see the hydration meter and the skybox, no characters, items, or the ground.

Impending chemical catastrophe by codebug 2022-04-10T23:10:52Z

Fun and tricky little puzzle game. I think it might have been a little more intuitive to move the dropper rather than the tray. I don't think the abrupt speed changes was an issue, classics like Tetris have jumps in speed at certain benchmarks. Well done!

The Fly's Eyes by Colossus_Gaming 2022-04-10T22:57:58Z

Hey, great job for your first try. It's too bad you didn't get to finish. It would help a lot to put the game objective in the description so we know what we're trying to do. Keep programming, your games will get better as you get more practice!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Alarm Clock Arcade by blinry 2022-10-12T20:46:02Z

Very clever use of the theme! The graphics were solid, and I enjoyed the levels getting higher resolution as you advance in levels. Sound was good, monsters gave it a little bit of a challenge beyond being in the right segment when the digit changed. Controls were smooth. Overall, an excellent entry. Well done!

10 Seconds To Avoid Death by jk5000 2022-10-11T22:11:38Z

This game has easy to parse graphics, voiceover is a nice touch, and a nice intuitive UI. The hit-boxes on some of the buttons, especially the further away ones, were a little weird, but all in all a nice solid entry

Pupu Pew Pew by Samuli 2022-10-11T01:01:17Z

Fun little game! Music was banging and gameplay was smooth. Probably the biggest annoyance was stalactites leaving their tips when you shoot them, leaving behind a piece you can't shoot again but still deals damage to you.

Pizza Boy by automatonvx 2022-10-12T20:29:30Z

This one has a very crazy taxi feel! The moped definately needs to be able to turn harder (on keyboard), but otherwise it's a nice idea!

Oracle of Colliding Realms by hunttis 2022-10-12T20:36:36Z

That's a cool idea, I enjoyed shifting layer levels every 10 seconds. The jumps are a bit floaty, but that helps a bit so you can be in mid-air when the transition occurs.

SVET by HellSquirrel 2022-10-10T22:05:43Z

Very creepy being chased by demons in the dark. Unfortunately, being unable to see and navigate 90% of the time makes for a very difficult gameplay loop.

This is a Test by LittleDaimon 2022-10-11T00:47:04Z

Fun little game! The controls were solid, the only change I'd really recommend is making your character able to make smaller jumps with a shorter keypress. It would have been great if you had time to make a little bit more play area, but overall it was a fun little 3d platformer play area

QuickThink: Necromancer by Ganny 2022-10-11T21:31:01Z

Fun little jam! Great gradual ramp-up of new ideas, starting with walls, then subtraction, then multiplication and division, every time I started to feel like it was too easy and I had a solid strategy, a new element came into play. Beautifully done pixel art. Click detection was a little finicky from time to time, but otherwise it plays very well.

Radar by bbaf 2022-10-11T22:00:01Z

Neat idea. The pulses only coming every 10 seconds made it a neat puzzle to figure out which missile was heading in which direction. It became a bit too much when trying to plot an intercept course for your own missiles, since you have little margin for error. But the idea would work fabulously if you had a laser so you could simply click where you think the missile is rather than having to try to lead a hidden target.

ETERNARC by Talops 2022-10-12T00:41:38Z

Really cute game! Fun gameplay loop, great use of the theme! The opossum is super cute and the gameplay is solid. Great entry!

Treasure Mapper by TwistedHawk 2022-10-10T23:56:56Z

Fun little puzzle games. The UI could use a little improvement, such as something telling you how many wood planks you have, and a fast forward button to speed through the current phase, especially since a lot of the time you're just waiting for enemies to end up in the right position to slip past.

You're Furnished! The 10-Second Movers by Xenith 2022-10-11T21:45:53Z

Very cute game. I loved the sprite graphics and the various pieces of furniture, and the main character was super cute. It was very satisfying organizing the rooms, though some of the scorings were a bit unclear (what's wrong with putting a sink next to the cabinets in the kitchen?)

My Robo Nanny by satacat 2022-10-10T22:16:04Z

The graphics of the game are beautifully drawn, and the mini-games are fun and inventive. The baby-feeding game could use a little more feedback, ie. when you push a button, it tells you if you succeeded or not, but right now it kind of keeps score in the background. Also, being unable to abandon a game to recharge is very punishing. Finally, be careful about what keys you have the player mashing. I kept having my computer pop of the sticky keys prompt because of pressing shift 5 times. Great little game, could certainly be a fun collection of mini-games with a bit of polish.

BDSM by xsangyhix 2022-10-11T21:52:24Z

Yep, totally got lured in by the name. I couldn't really figure out how to fulfill building requests. Even after buying land, I couldn't get anything to build on them.

My Rotten Soldier by Misfire_dev 2022-10-10T21:55:38Z

Amazing graphics and mood. Unfortunately, I got stuck on a ladder climbing up towards the first feather. The game stopped taking inputs and I couldn't play further. Not sure how the game ties in to the theme.

BRUTALPLAGUE by Just Another Noob 2022-10-10T22:22:26Z

With the demons, music, and ambiance, your game has a very original Doom feel. The grappling was great and fun to use. Unfortunately, I found the controls to be a bit unresponsive, making it very hard to stay alive

The Cursed Tart by Ilari 2022-10-11T23:00:06Z

How funny, our team floated a similar concept during our planning, though we took a different take on our chicken-based game.

The dungeon looks great, I like the subtle 3D that lets you see the sides of walls and doors as the camera moves. It's great that both the human form and chicken form have different weapons that let you fight enemies different ways. Well done!

HexTech Farm by karatoga 2022-10-10T23:27:49Z

The cat is very cute! The mist did a exactly what was intended, but it's hard to tell what the rest of the weather conditions did, and I also couldn't really tell what the different things you can plant do.

Tower Stack by ChrisWiseman 2022-10-11T03:09:06Z

Congratulations on your first jam game! Physics are always a bit messy to work with, every jam I've used physics in I've spent a LOT of time debugging unintended consequences of the physics. It's a very calming game, though pieces simply sliding off screen makes it hard to build once things stop laying flat, so just putting walls just off screen would go a long way to improve game play. Well done, and I hope you do more games in the future!

Under Pressure by 321mine 2022-10-10T23:31:10Z

Tried downloading it, but the zip file would not extract any of the DLLs

Tiny Time Jockey (Future) by other thinking 2022-10-11T23:15:56Z

Challenging little game. I was able to figure out most of the hints, though the controls take a little getting used to. The controls are a little inconsistent, such as having to use the keyboard to flip through records and select it, while most of the other controls are mouse, but the volume slider needs a right click to switch to pan right. Lots of catchy and varied tracks for being made in such a short time!

ITTTNOALTSFATWWAMPTJBANCKSUE10S! by Fenrei 2022-10-10T22:47:43Z

Fun multi-tasking, though the gameplay loop got a little repetitive. It took me several drinks before I found the menu and understood how the drinks work. I managed to get a 7/12 on the quiz by remembering the story, but I didn't think to write down the dates of events. Overall, a fun little multi-tasking game, though it could stand to be a little shorter, before it gets too repetitive.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Dungeon Solitaire by Lex 2018-05-07T03:27:10Z

Great concept! I enjoyed the combination of sort of solitaire and platforming. The buffs/debuffs were a nice touch in addition to the obstacles. Check out our game too :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/sneakbeat

Dungeon Exploder by wizard sino 2018-05-07T03:07:32Z

Hahaha, how fun. I loved the poor farie's dismay at your inability to properly use any of the dungeon items! Rotating was a bit tricky, too slow on a short burst, and too dramatic if you held the side arrows too long. Great job! Check out our game too, combination rhythm game and dating sim.

LD59 — Signal

Crowbar and Sonar by Anthony Katona 2026-05-05T23:38:43Z

The sonar was a neat idea, though really hard to pick out the light switches with the echolocation.
