It has a real retro vibe :)
Feedback: the gameplay is very fast, especially on the low levels when you're also expected to multitask. I appreciate the recorded narration, it adds to the general mood.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD50 → THEMARUNGA

Hello! I found the dialogues pretty cool but the gameplay need to be reworked.
I was shocked when the game background becomes transparent. It matches the overall naughty vibe.Controlling the board and character with both hands at the same time is a challenge!
I love the narration and storytelling. The mood was nice and it fit the theme.
Nice game! Really cool graphics too, good job!
Quite the humerous experience, I liked the meta part of the guy pulling up an LD page. The gameplay was a bit overwhelming at first before I really understood what was going on.
The voice narration was a nice surprise! I also liked the idea of controlling to things at once, although it got a bit too difficult too quick for me. Nice entry overall!
I couldn't get the controls to work... Nothing seemed to do anything. (I could skip the intro with the mouse, but that's all.)

@ditam oh no, sorry to hear that. What browser/OS were you trying to play the game on? I just tried replicating your problem, but edge, firefox, chrome, opera and opera gx worked (to variable extents) just fine.
I was using Chrome on Windows. I'll give it an other go from an other machine soon.
Innovative concept moving the platform and the baby at the same time! I must confess I was pretty confused as to how the gameplay worked though.
I enjoyed the voice acting a lot. I've played through a couple times now, and I'm still not 100% sure what I'm supposed to be doing. I tried hitting the balls, then using the arrows to collect powerups by moving the jumper. I don't know if I won or not, but it was pretty fun. Good job!
I love your nice voice acting and the gaming experience is enjoyable for me! and of course, as your ending saying, Happy Anniversary Ludum Dare!
Well this game is really somethin'! I was impressed with the variety of different sorts of levels you got in here, although I thought the cutscene to gameplay ratio was off so I never really felt like I got to practice / master the mechanics.
Its pretty fun and i love the overall mood. I would say the mechanics are a bit confusing though.
I didn´t understand what the game is about. Very confusing.
A tutorial explaining the mechanics would be a great addition.
The sounds are ok but some variatons are needed to not become boring
Even though, good entry. If you polish a bit you´ll have a very decent game
Keep it up!
Achei confuso e complicado. No geral a proposta do jogo ficou meio nebulosa, não conseguir entender muito bem do que se trata, porem inovador de certa forma.
A lot going on here. The first level comes and goes way too fast, and the character jump is so floaty the level with multiple platforms is hard to dodge the sideways orb. The voice acting is entertaining, and the music suits the game well.
I like the narration and feel of the game. The moon face gave some serious Courage the Cowardly Dog vibes from when I was a kid, and I liked it. The gameplay is neat idea but a bit confusing. I like the idea of having the person and paddle for bounce/platforming puzzles but the meteors moved way to fast and I wasn't really sure what I was doing. A bit more clarification and balancing would take it a long way. Good job with the submission though!
Great game. But very hard. Its basically the dark souls of platformers.
ha! I love the humor in your games. It might just be me, but there's something hilarious about the planet being destroyed, followed by a goofy "Happy anniversary" text on the "you lose" screen. The voice acting is top notch, and the gameplay is fun. (maybe a bit too dark on some levels though?) Great work!
I really liked the whole vibe of the game. Voice acting is top notch, graphics have this uncanny thing that is both fun and a bit creepy? I had trouble with understanding the whole mechanics of the game but it was fun nonetheless.
Nice game - especially the voice acting. The main aesthetic is totally unusual, but I guess that this is your will. The face on the moon's surface is a little bit too creepy. All works fine as expected, but meteors go though my screen too quickly. You should balance the difficulty. You made a solid entry. Thank you for this strange experience. I wish you the best ++
Wow that was very very weird. The voice acting the gameplay, the theme, all very surreal.
I really enjoyed the presentation and wanted to get to the end, but the gameplay was way too hard and seemed unfair. The jump was too slow and floaty, but also not high enough and the meteor things moved way too fast. It seemed impossible to survive. Also another issue is that the graphics are way too dark. I didn't even see the play button when I loaded up the game for a while because of how dark it was. I did like the colors but they needed to be just a little bit brighter
Overall definitely one of the more unique and interesting jam submissions I've played so far. I love when jammers do full voice acting!
I really like the framing device this game uses. It is essentially a conversation that THEMARUNGA is having with the player, and it's just a lot of fun, in my opinion, to have this demon entity simply placing games in front of me and challenging me to play. And of course, as usual, the transparent window is a great way to make things more meta and more personal.
The animation of THEMARUNGA is also very good, I think. The different faces moving around, with the hand gestures, works really well.
Additionally, it's super fun to tie the story into Ludum Dare directly. I think it would have been really cool if the game had asked for your Ludum Dare username and then, like, grabbed the title card of your game and used it as a sprite (or destroyed it, or whatever would have been most appropriate). That would be a great way to extend the meta nature of the game farther.
The gameplay itself seems quite finicky to me. A lot of this is of course because the combination of mechanics is simply very hard to control, which seems to fit a game with a demon, but some of it is just finicky controls and physics interactions. The game description says there is a way to "truly win"--if truly winning requires mastering the game mechanics, I am almost certainly not going to truly win.
I did try collecting 0 stars so that I scored 0 total lost souls... perhaps that is a victory of some sort? I think the stars are actually a really clever mechanic because any player is almost guaranteed to grab one on their first playthrough either by accident or intentionally. But of course, because they are a multiplier, a x0 multiplier is also possible, which is just really cool.
Overall I really like the narrative aspects of the game, and the character of THEMARUNGA; the one primary change I would prefer is snappier controls for the gameplay.
Great mood! I like the audios, I laughed a lot. A little difficult to know at first but then it is perfectly understood. Great game!

As always, I love how unique your games always feel. Your personality really shines through with each new entry. Keep up the good work!
Quite a quirky entry! I had a good time with it though I was fairly confused on what exactly was happening most of the time. I did manage to sacrifice like 1200 souls but I'm not sure if that was the point?
I found it difficult to figure out initially how to play, and the "play" button was so small it took me a while to find it. The game itself was very interesting and unique, I love experiencing completely new game experiences like this.
