Great and interesting mechanics, very immersive. Couldn't find many things around though.

Oh my gosh, it's unbelivable quality for LD. I complete it to the end. Not sure that I found all letters. I like how you made onboarding.
Amazing absolutely love it from start to finish !!! I am immediately thought to myself if i had kids i would have them play this instead of going to first grade. Thanks for the experience!
It looks awesome visually wise. The mechanics reminds me to a zen version of Baba is you, which is always nice imho
This is absolutely incredible and uses the theme to the extreme. The visuals are perfect, this is something incredible. Unbelieveable quality.
Absolutely stunning, best in show as far as I'm concerned, 100% should be something you expand into a retail game.
Can't believe you make that game only in 72h, awesome concept, graphics are amazing, music is very beautiful. It's a real pleasure to think of all the things we make with the letters. Loved it.
Graphics and atmosphere is great
Absolutely loved the art.
Daaaamn this game is amazing! I loved it!
Wow ! My favorite game so far. It's incredible. So much work... ! Very fun and intelligent mechanics and very beautiful graphic. Great job
(and it's make me work my english, hehe, thank's guys)
jfc this is great
I loved the game content, however it didn't run very smoothly on my Radeon 530. Even in the first level, I got like 10 FPS, and then when I got outside it dropped even lower. I liked the game, but I'd like to see it run on lower end HW as well, since don't have to be so many GPU calculations.
Negative critique aside, it IS a great LD game, I think you did a fantastic job.
@sprotex I can see where you are coming from with this. I've tested only today the game on a Quadro K600 at work, and it was completely unplayable, with 100% load on the GPU, 95% VRAM usage. This is due to the custom shader we wrote for the etheral/show the world only where there is objects. This isn't due to a mistake in the code or anything, it's just that our technique is a bit expensive to run.
I'll take a look asap with Anstabo if we can reduce the GPU load without sacrificing too much of the visuals quality, but I can't really promise anything. I'm afraid that our game does require a decent GPU to run.
Now that's art! Thank you for this amazing entry.
@fluffy-kaeloky let me know when this is done, I'd like to give this game another try.
Woah! This was amazing. What a quality submission. I loved it!
Really fun concept, I liked messing around with letters, trying to find new words (at first I thought, that small rocks were eggs). But you can put yourself in a dead end, because you can't disassemble keys after putting them in the keyholes.
@Rosik Indeed, we are aware of that ^^
I'll write a quick hotfix for that, giving the player the ability to take back the keys as soon as I can.
Never thought the game about collecting letters can be hardcore. :D
Wow amazing work, love the core mechanic and the art style!!
Best graphics I have seen so far, the mood and aesthetic is amazing! Such a good entry.
Wow, every aspect of that was great!
Wow I think this was the best game in the jam. How you managed this production quality I will never know. Good job, and good concept.
I realy liked the concept and the ambiance. The art are incredible, the OST lovely. Good job guys, you probably workd hard for this.
Amazing entry! Really lovely artstyle and sound track, novel mechanic and good execution all round. It also perfectly fit theme of starting from nothing and building up.
One bug I found when you destroy a tree or rock ontop of the hills the letters would spawn underground so you couldn't pick them up. However it didn't stop me completing the game, there were enough letters elsewhere. Also I wish you could turn off mouse acceleration and turn down mouse sensitivity. Just two minor issues, I loved the game otherwise.
best Jam entry IMO Absolutely stunning. I just now saw what you wrote about the shader, my 1080 was chugging fans full speed haha Amazing entry.
This is really great ! It's hard figuring words at the beginning, but it quickly becomes easier and easier, and... well there are so much possibilities ! Really incredible entry :D One of the best I played so far :o
I'm afraid I didn't really get anywhere... I'm on MacOS if it's relevant. Just the letters PALY and two mysterious pink squares, with the controls.
I'm not sure if something's missing or if I just don't know what to do...?
@selkkie I haven't been able to test the build on Mac, due to the fact that I don't have a Mac myself. Perhaps this might be a Shader issue with Metal, I wouldn't be surprised at all (Apple and their bad habit of using only their own, often filled with bugs technologies ...). Perhaps you can launch the game with a force opengl argument and that might solve the issue. (OpenGL is officially deprecated for Mac since Metal, but it is still supported)
Other that than, I'm afraid I can't really debug without owning a mac or at least seeing a Mac run the game in Metal.
Start with the positives- Art, music, atmosphere and the main mechanic - all just awesome.
But for me it is basically unplayable. I had to lower my mouse sensitivity to the lowes I could because I saw only colorful streaks. I had like 10 FPS and incredibly intense motion blur. I only saw something when I stopped moving my mouse. And when I did that the camera was shaking very noticeably.
It is very good game for jam but I would prefer better performance.
Stunning Game love the idea. The music fits the game perfectly. Keep working on that Game it could be a great game for learning a new language.
It really showed me that I forgot a lot of basic English vocabulary ^^
The art style is f****** amazing, I'm impressed. Everything is very polished and looks super good. The concept of the game is quite curious. My congrats! :D
It doesnt work on my laptop but in desktop its dope
Really nice game, but its hard to manage all the letters. Also love the way visuals and sound are connected
This game is fantastic! Super innovative and exciting to make new words. The art style is gorgeous as well. Outstanding job!
When i saw it was a game with @anstabo and @fluffy-kaeloky i knew that it was going to be a good game but damn, this is spectacular!
The art style is fantastic, the music and sounds are pleasing and the game mechanics are something not only clever and adherent to the theme. The entire gameplay is a very nice and confortable experience. I am truly amazed by the work you folks could done in the jam timeframe.
Outstanding work! Hope to see another piece of art in the next jam!
Also, now i know that my notebook is not a toaster!
Absolutely phenomenal game! What a truly original idea, I loved the interpretation of the theme and all the polish that was put into it. The puzzles were really clever too! I could easily figure out what I needed to do and it was fun looking for all the items with "k" in them to complete all the keys.
I'd love to pick your mind about the shaders used to achieve the watercolor effect if you don't mind; it's really well done.
Amazing graphics and audio create real good immersion. I loved how you introduced the player to the mechanics and how your mind keeps on searching for the next clue. GREAT JOB!
Spectacular work! Such an original use of the theme, and the implementation was wonderful. I did my best to find all the words I could, not sure if I got them all - but it didn't matter. I had a great time exploring, finding the words, and the ethereal feeling of how the world grew or appeared as I played further. The amount of work and polish is reall impressive for the game jam timeframe! I did have issues with mouse sensitivity at first though, but that's about all the criticism I really have for this.
Oh my goodness, this is absolutely amazing! I knew an @anstabo game would come correct with the shaders, and I'm glad I wasn't the least bit disappointed. This also seems like a great educational resource for kids to learn words in an engaging manner. Keep up the great dev work guys!
*By the way, I wonder who hid the poop in between the haybales?*
This was really cool! One of my favorites I've seen, it looks beautiful, it has a super interesting mechanic that made me want to keep exploring, and it had a good length for a Jam game! I would play more of a game in this style.
@theomaniacal I'm afraid I did 🤡
Visuals are great! Love this "sketchy" shader =) Gameplay become boring because have no idea where to search needed letters.
Amazing visuals ! Great work on the shader and sounds ! Great gameplay ! Beautiful experience ! Amazing job!
Beautiful entry! I love what you did with the shaders to give the game a very dreamlike feel. My team also did a word-play entry, but it's cool to see the different direction your team took. I was having so much fun finding words to break everything, that by the end of the run I was thinking to myself "maybe I shouldn't break everything, a rock is a lot easier to find than a K in these piles of letters," hahaha.
This is an absolutely beautiful game. I loved the watercolor effects. I would love to use this to make a game of my own.
Incredibly beautiful game! You've posted a devlog with the shader on Reddit and you should add it to the description here. I'm sure there are more people who want to dive in and see how it's implemented, even if it's not very performant in its current state.
This is super cool, but sadly my specs are way below what they need to be to run it.
I've rated graphics , innovation and theme based on what I could get working and what you've demo'd in the video.
Props for the epic shader too! Great job doing a nice subtle effect that's way beyond the usual cartoony shaders out there (free or paid! )
Awesome idea. Unfortunately while it runs fine for me, the picking seems to be badly broken in the linux version. At the beginning I could get the items to highlight if they were in the bottom left corner of the screen when I was facing a specific direction. After destroying the lamp I couldn't get anything to highlight at all.
Very impressive! The style and graphics were very beautiful and the enviroment having blank spots really inspires to be creative. Thinking of words to make up is very fun! Keep it up :)
Whoops...try as I might, I wasn't able to get this working.
Running it on my Windows Server 2016 GeForce GTX 560 Ti machine results in a short-lived error box with no other output to speak of:
screenshot_20191025_164425.png
Looking at the player log, it's trying to initialize Vulkan and dying:
https://pastebin.com/UUSM5qNu
On my MacBook Pro on the OSX side, the game runs, though it's got some nonworking shaders as evidenced by the magenta squares. I was able to play the very initial part of the game -- the first time I did so the orange/gear objects showed up, but every time since then they don't seem to appear, only the o-r-a-n-g-e letters which strangely seem to be uninteractable.
I haven't tried on my other windows installs, but may get a chance to later.
Any chance you could upload a build with vulkan support disabled perhaps?
@ddrkirbyisq Huh, weird. You're the first one that reported this issue (at least on Windows). Not sure if it comes from the WIndows Server installation or hardware.
In any case, you can run the executable with either -force-d3d11 or -force-glcore to force the renderer to the selected argument. Please do keep me updated :)
@fluffy-kaeloky: Ah yes, I probably could have looked up those flags myself! That got it running and working, will play through it now!
I played and finished it! It was pretty fun trying to figure out how the world worked and figuring out what to do. The worldfeel reminded me a lot of The Unfinished Swan in the way that it just sort of gives you a world to explore. Unfortunately it also gave me just as much 3d motion sickness as that game, I barely managed to make it through to the end, but I'm glad I was able to!
Nice job!
I downloaded and started. Was able to move around. Picked up and threw the letters. Formed "PLAY" horizontally and vertically, nothing happened. There was never any ability to do anything else, even though I tried lots of things. My computer is pretty ripped, not a speed or graphics issue. A shame, as the other comments make it sound really interesting.
@dob You can pick multiple letters. You're supposed to form the words in your own hand ;)
@fluffy-kaeloky Ah, OK. That was not clear. Thanks for the help.
Wow, great entry !
Shaders are really cool
(the little feedback when you took the wrong letter helps me a lot  )
Looks great. I only wish there was a little story to go with it.
Loved it was a little unsure of how to play in the beginning and that was frustrating and almost quit but glad I kept playing as it was very enjoyable.
FYI on Linux Mint I had issues where I couldn't pick up the letters or interact with the scene. Worked fine on Windows 7 though.
