So far one of the best games i played here :) very nice.
Very nice !! This seems like the kind of game i would buy if it was fleshed out !
I like how you thematically expanded on the undertale type gameplay very neat! Big fan of this type of mood in games well done :)
I feel the Ubisoft hate and it tickles my happy bone. I need that DLC irl pls thanks
At first i thought i wouldnt enjoy this type of game, but i was surprised. A lot of complexity but in a welcome way :)
Very neat concept and fits the theme perfectly I think. Good job :)
Very nice :) we ended up going for rough humour and I am glad other people managed to make something deeper with the theme. Good job !
The Things are cute :D couldn't help but think they are filled with ground up meeseekses
Core temperature nominal... :D getting some Half life vibes here. Pretty cool thanks for the Webgl version i got to play it at work hehe
It was alright, the esthetics were the strong part but i didn't really enjoy the voice acting though it was original
Slapping them clown ass cheeks is now my favorite past time :D very fun
The architect who designed the door geometry was a sadist :D. very nice music and feel. I liked it
That house sure fits a lot of stuff ... :D dont know if I would like to have a tree in the living room myself though. Very humorous
What an esoteric experience :D Avant-garde design i dont know why i like but I guess it feels very jammy
Amazing absolutely love it from start to finish !!! I am immediately thought to myself if i had kids i would have them play this instead of going to first grade. Thanks for the experience!
Very cool intro drew me in perfectly, good mood and relaxing track made it a wholesome experience thanks !
I really dig the idea :D kind of reminds me of katamari. Godzilla level threat of a swine ! good job
Very cool idea, its not the kind of game I am usually into but i can appreciate it as a whole. It captures the essence of skill based combat systems very well.
Very cute and I liked it despite not liking cute things. The best moment was the lonely lady whom i first considered to be of the transvestite sort, because the building next to her cropped away the "y" in lady.
Pretty neat, reminds me of what i found hardest thinking about the theme. Making a game that implies progress from nothing something that feels really good to players i think. Good job on your solo project :)
@corentin-sabiaux thanks for the review :) , I was hoping that naked dude blasted into space was enough to communicate the start with nothing theme, but it was really tricky to come up with something that screams the theme loudly.
@yolziii thanks for the review, the humour is a little rough but I hope it works well enough
I liked the overall feel of the game though i feel like the level could've been bit more interesting :). Definitely fun to play though. well done
I had some technical issues but it was probably antivirus acting up. I like the aesthetic but there isnt much in terms of gameplay are you planning to finish it outside of the jam ?
At first i was overwhelmed on the 4th level :D but it wasn't as hard as it looked, i love the shadow clone mechanic ! Very neat and original design and works well with the simple aesthetic :) cool game
The positive was the overall feel, it was quite emersive, the feeling of darkness was very eminent. I didnt like the fact that i got stuck on walls quite often and what I think would have been cool if there were fewer reasons to not spam the LMB. Otherwise good work :)
Crazy planet designs :D i don't know if i would like to live on them but my citizens ended up loving them :dog:
Fantastic atmosphere! Had to experiment a bit to get to the end but the concept was pretty neat. I like games that use light as a mechanic.
Very odd and draws you in a an uncomfortable but at the same time irresistable way. Feels almost Kafkesque
I liked it! the main gameplay cycle gets a little stale but it feels like there is humor potential in the idea!
+ solid platformer + graphic choice is efficient
-difficulty, or rather the way the game communicates mechanics
@curtis-pelissier yeah we were planning to have a boss, and we wanted the game to have a kind of ending but time didn't allow it. So that was a compromise :dog:
@apple-dash that's a good point :D there is definitely a lot of room for improvement in that and other areas. We want to make a more polished version over the weekend so I'll keep your point in my mind. Thx !
+ the interface is very neat I like how the elements fir together, I think even more might better - its kind of hard to figure out the recipes and feels a little too grindy
+ The mood felt very sombre and fitting + Music was dark and fitting - the gameplay loop is easily exploited by just mashing keys - little variation
the only thing this game is missing is a multiplayer
My brain was trying reeeally hard to rotate those blocks :dog:
+ very neat and complete game cycle - missing some extra sauce not sure what it is but maybe some chilli
+ great execution + tight controls and clear instructions + great level design - while i get the theme reference it doesnt exactly scream unstable
@richard08 Thanks for the feedback, there definitely could have been more content, but we left it as a kind mvp after 2 days of dev.
It runs well and the puzzles are well put together. Something that might add a bit of an umph would be more sattisfying block breaking and more of an emphasis on the theme.
All the components fit together really well, art style, audio and gameplay.
The only improvement i see straight away would be more content, but this is a jam so good job!
+ very straightforward and neat design + sound was decent and though the loop was short it didnt get on my nerves - the puzzles could have been better communicated at the start and once solved should be locked and uneditable
+ The game is hectic enough to stay fun, and slow enough to actually leave space for thought. + The physics seem very tight experienced no bugs - graphically and audio kind of bland
The biggest strength of the game is the style and theme. It is just perfect, I would score it higher if the gameplay was more fun, though it is very well put together.
First impression: polished, very neat but a little bit confusing. In terms of technical execution i would say 8/10. Where it is lacking is how the game communicates with the player, as the elements are quite tiny (keep in mind I am playing on a laptop). The colours are well balanced but a little bit bland, a bit more contrast here and there, in the UI or perhaps some alerts to show where things are happening on the globe would have been nice. I honestly just love how it is put together, the traffic is oddly relaxing, especially with the music. Later I thought about , what if the globe was a little smaller and the road maybe a more intricate, I think that would increase the information density and paradoxically make it more orderly. Thank you for the experience! Great work overall!
Thanks @omers ! I am glad it was fun! The difficulty is a little bit NES styled like the art haha
@taaada sorry to hear Taaada we can try putting up a local version, I'll let you know if and when that happens.
@nash yeah had it not been a LD project it would have an intro screen :D. Maybe we'll get to do some polishing in the future. I am glad you enjoyed the game.
PS: we ended up putting the controls in the gamescreen to save time.
Came for the aesthetics stayed for the castles.
I feel like every car should have a currency converter next to the fuel indicator :D. The fuel running out so painfully fast fit the theme pretty well.
I don't really know what to say. It is funny and has a game loop. So good job, but the humour is very specific :D
It's great you managed to implement several minigames into the game. That is both the strength and the weakness of the game, I imagine it must be hard to balance how much work goes into each one. Respect for the effort I had fun playing.
The mood was very good and the style too, I think it couldve been a little less confusing though.
It has character and the minigame is simple enough to work well with the mechanic, what I think would be worthwhile is exploring a design where you would have to get to a mini checkpoint before each boss visit and maybe having to do it before 6 visits or something like that?
Very moody game! The gameplay loop is very simple, but it works pretty well as a vehicle for the story. Smart design choice! Made me think about making my next game more story driven.
@tero-pulkkinen what went wrong? (I know about a bug with the special attack) more feedback would be appreciated thanks :)
What I liked: - sounds design fit the graphic design -
What I didn't like: - the combat mechanics weren't clearly communicated - suggestion: more ui elements, like showing both walk and shoot range on mob select? Showing ammunition too perhaps? -the level design was quite bland, which is understandable given your scope. Which I think might have been a bit too big for a jam.
Overall I would say this is good prototype, and I can see you gained some valuable experience. Good job!
I am surprised how much you were able to write in only a couple of days. The dialogue was well rounded and well executed.
It was lacking in gameplay for my taste. More options or more branching would improve it for me.
Good job on finishing a story driven game on time!
Very neat little game! The graphics were perfect and it was the right size for a jam. I think you picked your scope and capabilities perfectly. Good job!
