Cool Rat 3D: Adventures in the Houseplant Zone by mmason 2020-04-21T01:43:23Z
Really fun idea. A lot of reading though. It would be cool to see this expanded into something beyond a text based adventure, especially since the art is so good.

The idea of having to keep someone alive that is trying to hurt you is a really interesting take on the theme. The level does is also really clever and progressively introduces a few different game mechanics. Nice work!
This was really fun and relaxing!
I played it all the way through and man do I feel bad for the F key on my keyboard. Really well executable and fun approach to the theme. Nice work!
Really good overall! I loved all the character art; however, the environmental art was a little lacking. But that is understanding given the time limit. Other than that, the gameplay was great.
Fun take on the theme. I love the idea that you are a battery that can lose power and be charged back up. Movement is pretty difficult, but I guess that is part of the design.
I didn't get what was happening, but the graphics were great!
This is definitely a cool game, but could benefit by some difficulty adjustments. I got stuck on the bee level for a while and only passed it by luck. I couldn't get past the spike level. That being said, I still really liked what I saw and was impressed that each level introduced a new mechanic.
This is such a good idea! The goal of the game is to play a game within the game, but the world around you is trying to stop you from doing that. This is so clever!
It would be nice if the text appeared line by line instead of letter by letter. Its hard to read when the text is constantly moving like it is now. But overall, nice job! Good art and approach to the theme.
Wow, an inventory system in a jam game! In just a couple days you were able to lay the groundwork for a lot of different game systems! Great job!
Love the game! The low poly art is great and the way the level is so pretty that it make me want to get a higher score to see more of it. I recommend tweaking the difficulty a little bit. Due to the random gen, I didn't always have very many people near me when I spawned in so I would die almost immediately.
Very unique application of the them, keeping an idea alive.
I really liked the game and feel that it has a lot of potential! One thing I would say though is that it appears that all of your available tiles are randomly selected every time you place down a single tile. I would recommend that you keep the two tiles you didn't select the same and create a new random tile in the place of the one you took, kind of like Tetris. This would force players to develop more strategy.
Super impressive amount of assets and effects. Was having a lot of fun until I got to a point where the game was stuck on the time travel effect, so I couldn't keep playing :(
@tinykidtoo
I had just got into that small room where your time device is set to 10 seconds. I believe at the start of one of the time travel transitions, it just got stuck and the transition effect never ended, so I was just stuck in place with that screen copying effect still active.
Very pretty game! And impressively sophisticated mechanics.
Awesome game! So much juice. And nice work with the trailer.
This game was incredible! Perfect approach to the theme. Best game I've played this jam.
It's a nice change of pace to a story-driven game in a jam. I wasn't quite sure how to use my supporting characters during the final fight, so I lost, but overall, very cool experience.
Love warioware style games. Had some trouble figuring out how to shoot the arrow and play the card game, but the other mini games were a ton of fun!
Loved the art and sound. Had a bit of trouble controlling the character. WASD did not appear to work and the first time I launched the game the arrow keys mapped to the wrong directions, and I eventually got stuck. It was also difficult to tell what I could fly through and what I couldn't fly through. Overall, though, I do see some potential here.
Nice simple concept! I didn't want to stop playing.
Nice simple game! Would love to see some coyote time as I had trouble running and jumping off of platforms. The floaty jump was also fairly annoying first, but I ended up liking it because it allowed for some interesting maneuvers in the later levels.
I like the concept here a lot, but I didn't quite understand how the theme played in. I saw that there was a 10 second countdown whenever I opened a message, but there didn't seem to be any penalty after the 10 seconds. Waiting 10 seconds seemed to just be the way that you close out of messages, which you can open as many times as you'd like. The timer really boils down to being an inconvenient exit button. Would have been cool if you only got one 10 second segment to view each message.
Wow the buzzer is startling! Had some trouble figuring out how to play, but overall good work.
The dash seemed to be in a random direction each time. Is this intended? Liked the io game aesthetic.
Nice idea. Didn't quite see the point of picking up a sword when I had a gun equipped.
Love the 3d planet shaped world, but the gameplay was just too slow for me to want to keep playing.
