What an awesome concept!
Congrats on finishing! The concept for this is fantastic, and the amount of polish you got into 48 hours is amazing! I actually don't have anything bad to say about this entry besides I wish there was more of it. I had a lot of fun figuring out how everything tied together. Very strong work!
This is a game that I absolutely loved! Super novel concept and would make for a great fully fledged puzzle game
Great concept and an impressive amount of polish!
Impressive amount of polish. Very cool concepts. I left wishing that there is more.
Awesome game! Had a lot of fun and all I want is more. The player design and animations were especially great.
Just wow!
Can't drag and drop on Mac for some reason.
@akirassasin Does clicking otherwise work for you? The logic for dragging is identical to clicks/releases so I don't know how it could be an issue specifically with dragging.
Note that you can only drag and drop worlds from the top menu. Once they are in you only have the option to delete them.
If that definitely isn't working, then what does happen when you try to drag a world in? Do you pick one up but are unable to place it?
Thanks!
Reminds me of the dungeon builder in the new Link Awakening game, only better. This is fantastic: very fun, great graphics, placing new tiles is easy and intuitive. Great job!
An efficient and innovative platform !
A really original concept ! I could easily play for hours with more variety.
Love this. Best entry I’ve seen so far. Art is amazing and the concept is a great play on the theme.
I'm not the biggest fan of platforming games but goddamn if this isn't the funnest platformer game I have ever played (Okay so maybe its on point with Gunpoint but to be fair Gunpoint took multiple years and you did this in less then 2 days!!) Any plan to continue the game afterwards?
This the one of the best platformer i've played , continue in this path and the full game will be a huge success , i love all of the puzzle element of the game well done
The build up in music and complexity as the game goes on was fantastic. The art is great and it controls really well.
Really cool, would be awesome to make into a full game!
Good work there mate, good luck in the voting
Really amazing concept. The filtering of the audio on zoom out is a great touch. Really high quality animations. Great job! Really deserves to be a full game!
I adore your game, such unconventional idea with outstanding realisation, great music, amazing art, lovely art. The only problems I had: 1. Music too loud. 2. I'm used to use Space for jumps and I opened menu accidentally many times.
Anyway, it's incredible work!
Great work! Love the animation and art style. Mechanics feel solid and well thought out. My only critique is the block pushing requirement for solving a puzzle is first introduced in a very long to set up puzzle with a jump that is at the very end. Failing this feels REALLLLL BAD. Otherwise this submission is amazing. Great job!
@artyom-volkov Had somebody else mention that about space too. Noted, thanks.
@erebus It's true. Unfortunately I had to throw this level design together in the last hour so it's a bit rushed :P Thanks :)
@joe-williamson ElisyaGriffin during her stream.:)
Hands down the best jam game I've played so far. It's insane how fun and polished it is. Unique level building mechanic and great graphics, animations and sound. Would be cool if you took it further and made it into a game.
Drag'n'drop works very wrong on macOS. It feels like it reacts onto hovering cursor instead of clicking. Otherwise, you made an incredible game that sparks joy!
@CyTheRabbit Thanks! Any chance you could clarify the hovering thing? When you click and drag from the top into an empty space what happens? Does it pick it up automatically with no click? How are you then able to drop a piece?
Oh my god this is absolutely amazing? I'm pretty sure this is better than at least a few games currently in my Steam library.
Great work Joe! Very innovative, perfectly on theme and the music gives a wonderful atmospheric mood.
WOW! So far the coolest submission I've seen, insanely high production value. Audio got a little loud (music) and was clipping my headphones a bit, but otherwise, this was a SUPREMELY polished experience, and I expect it to show up on my Nintendo Switch in a year! K THX BAI!
Can confirm drag & drop broken on MacOS. Hard to say what exactly is going wrong. Dragging out of window seems to reset it sometimes... maybe... Looks like this: https://imgur.com/NewNljw Otherwise, good stuff!
@ldreviews Thanks so much for this gif! I think I have been able to figure out what is going wrong from it and I would have been barking up the wrong tree otherwise. Looks like this is actually the cursor position being misread, and that appears to be due to the screen ratio not being correct. If I'm lucky just changing the scale mode might fix this. Will give it a shot. Thanks!
Wow just wow...
I can't believe this was made in a weekend! The amount of polish is quite incredible. Very fun, graphically stunning, use of the theme was excellent, and the music was awesome. I would love to see this turned into a full-sized game! Well done!
Really well polished, I loved the intro and how it ties to the theme. At the very end after finding the last piece, I liked how the last room forced me to land on the spikes, reseting everything and reminding me of the friend in the starting room. Really great job!
All 5s from me. A mindblowing game for a compo entry. I'm just amazed at the game you created. Everything is so perfect, polished and fun!! I'm expecting you to finish in the top 5.
This plays way better than I was expecting when I first started. It plays great! Great entry, mah dude.
Phenomenal for a 48-hour compo entry. Nothing much here to complain about. Well done.
Great concept and awesome game. I noticed the green guy at first, but then I completely forgot about him until the very last piece of the puzzle. This needs to be a full game.
Amazing entry! Solid premise and very well executed! The art, audio, and puzzles all tie in together really well
Okay, I have to say, this is the most impressive LD game I've ever seen.
I'll start with the negative, the controls weren't all that intuitive. W to jump felt weird, I kept wanting to hit space, but that's minor. I'm sure I could get used to it.
Graphics and music were professional level. The game has tons of personality. The mechanics are the most original I've seen in a while.

I thought this game was pretty amazing honestly, especially for a compo game, holy cow! Great job. I recorded some gameplay footage for a video I'll be publishing on youtube soon. I'll update this comment with a link when it goes live.
Video is live! https://youtu.be/FkF6iaETRWE world collector footage starts 2:25
This is by far one of the most polished LD games I have ever seen. Amazing job! Two gameplay aspects I would consider changing, one is to make the jump input linger a little longer so the user can activate a jump *slightly before* landing on the ground. The other is to make death less punishing. I was upset to see my tile arrangement disappear, but maybe I'm just complaining :D I can't say how much I enjoyed the art and especially the music. Incredible job on the Compo.
This is the best game I've seen on this Ludum Dare. Perfect polish, great mechanics and art.
I was watching the development of this on twitter and I was blown away. Playing it now I can tell it really is that good. So much polish, and it's a compo submission. Absolutely amazing, great job!
I really, REALLY encourage you to build this into a finished game. fantastic job really enjoyed this, the only small complaint I have is that space bar zooms me out, I keep hitting it thinking I'm gong to jump
Wow that was crazy good! Can't believe that this is a compo game! Congrats!
what the crap how is this game so good?!?!
you had enough time in 48 hours to animate all that, make the audio and soundtrack, and program the mechanics? that's amazing!
(1) animation was great
(2) intro hooked me right in right away. amazing
(3) main mechanic was pretty cool. could be a full game, level-based or open-world IMO
(4) i want to be able to scroll around while zoomed out so i can go way down or way up
(5) having SPACE as the zoom out button threw me off. that's my main jump button man! i died once because of it!
(6) speaking of dying, losing all your piece placement and status seems like a big punishment. I was thinking it would just start me off at the beginning of the piece i died at
(7) the rectangle piece is rather boring, but i get it you had limited time to make interesting pieces
(8) music man, wow, fit the game to a tee.
dude, when you make this a full game, let me know. ill buy and make a youtube video about it
also, no spoilers, but, i really liked the ending. that was cool
whoa i cant believe this but this game takes the cake for #1 from two other really cool games. amazing work, man!
fantastic work for the compo! highly impressive level of visual polish for something under these time constraints, music composition, fleshed-out fun and innovative creative puzzle mechanics, you've got it all here— solid game!
Wow.
Very polished! Well done!
Could use some more sfx to increase imersement. Also the music was very well made but it could chill out a bit, I felt like I was on a time limit or something xD
Very nice animations and all game mechanics felt very well made, platforming, world picking and destroying. The game plays out very well even though not much is said on how to proceed.
The boxes resetting when they had fallen out of their own world was nice. Exactly what I expected to happen happened.
All in all great work and there is so much potential in this idea, I hope you keep working on it! Congrats!
Easily one of the most polished games I've played this LD. I'm in awe of how clean the concept and execution are, which show a mastery of design and development discretion. Top marks. I'd have no issues seeing this take overall 1st place in the compo :)
Great concept. A mix of platform and puzzle game absolutely successfull. What else ?...
Very nice game! Well done! :)
I would suggest to have some confirmation popup when pressing "esc", I accidently closed the game while playing (I tried to use "esc" instead of "space" to reach the map switching menu).
How did you make this in 48 hours? This is a legit game that would sell. The only thing I had an issue with was having zoom on the space bar, because I'm so used to having that as jump button, but that's probably more my problem than yours. Great work!
This is great! Really smart mechanic and level design. Not sure the music fits the game quite right, but it's still really well made, especially considering the 48 hour timeframe. Solid.
The Best game I've tried in this LD so far. Art is great, music is great and gameplay is awesome. Really good job on this one, I'd play a longer version with pleasure
Can't believe this game is made by one man in 48hours! The music, the graphic, the idea, all love it! I even get a new idea if the map piece you pick up can rotate, the whole puzzle could be more hard and interesting :D! But with all this work done in 48hours, what could I expect more. Beautiful Work!
Honestly, I'm not really much of a platformer gamer person, but with this twist, I actually stuck to playing this. Absolutely great concept, could definitely be made into a release title. Amazing Work!
Congrats ! I'm not sure what else to say ^^ This is amazing work, very thorough on every aspect of the game !
I only just now realized this is a *compo* game, very impressive work
Just WOW! Great game concept and execution! Really like that you need to build your level to get from place to place and solve puzzles.
great work enjoyed the game very unique idea puzzle platformer
Brilliant! I want to play a whole game like this.
Very nice !! This seems like the kind of game i would buy if it was fleshed out !
You've heard it all already but it's an awesone game. I'm really curious how you managed to keep track on everything on the level design, because it was perfect!
awesome game! Really enjoyed it!
nice! i enjoyed it a lot, has a relaxing effect :)
Would love to play through the rest of it if you can figure out the Mac wonkiness, got just enough game to get hooked on the concept, loved the atmosphere
everything is perfect + you are using haxe ;)
Wow, that's the best game I have seen in this jam ! What a great implementation of a mechanic ! Gorgeous !
How is something like this made in 48h? This is absolutely incredible, amazing work!!
Ok guys, we have a winner in 'Audio' right there. In the 5 years I've been doing LDs, I don't think I've seen a game with music & sound effects this good.
Graphics & gameplay are also on point.
If you don't mind me asking, what tools did you make this with?
Very nice job, I love the innovation. I hope you continue this project. I tested with a keyboard and gamepad. Controller feels really good, but theres no button to zoom out. Not a fan of W for jumping, I'd rather see space.
I cant believe how polished that felt.
@HolyBlackCat Wow, thank you! :D
The engine is HaxeFlixel plus my own lib called Lycan which is on github. Did the art in PyxelEdit and audio in Reaper with a variety of plugins such as NI Massive, libs from Spitfire Audio, and the vocals are on a free kontakt library from Embertone called Arcane.
Not only is the game polished, it's also very fun, congratulations my guy, 10/10 from me
Great Game. Love it, very creative
That was really great! I want to play more levels! Maybe the effect on the music when zooming out is a bit too accentuated, and the character controls are a bit too rough, but everything else is so good, I sincerely hope you'll continue this game sometime. Congratulations!
Holy Moly, what a polished game!
👉 Things I liked about your submission: - Audio is through the roof. Calling a top 10 here. - Intro had my intered for the game frm the start, nice one! - Challenging / relaxing platformer.
👉 Things that could be improved: - Drag and drop doesn't work 100% of the time - I accendentally opened menu like 5 times
Other than that, great game! Keep on making games!
Make sure to go rate my submission as well! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/ld45-submission
Great concept and execution with a very polished game. Awesome entry!
This is such a cool idea! It looks great, it sounds fantastic, and it plays pretty well too. My only complaint would be, I'm _so_ used to jump being spacebar, I zoomed out when trying to jump like a dozen times. But it was still fantastic all around, I'd love to see this made into a larger game.
Excellent work! It's refreshing to play such an innovative game and great take on puzzle platformer! Great music work and overall just fantastic.
I kept using spacebar for jumping, but opening the level puzzle menu instead. If you'd go on and expand on the game, I'd recommend a different key for it. Hope to see more of this one day!
Fantastic gameplay with the puzzle platformer! This is great and the graphics are also lovely. Very polished and I like how you earn the tiles as well as have the ability to destroy them. Good job!
it was fun to play. I can't say ive ever played a game like this before. I would honestly say keep going with it. would be a game people would always come back too.
Really well done. Very impressive.
Well done!
Amazing! The gameplay, music, graphics and concept are all so good. Beautiful game
I have to say that it is such an inspiration to see a work like that made by one person. That intro... that art... that music... Very well done.
Holy moly where to even begin? This is a very cool concept executed very very well. I would buy a fully realized version of this game with more levels and mechanics. Make it happen please. What you've done in 48 hours here is insanity.
Nice graphics, cool game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 45 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/Bucux0B4E5k
It's pretty good game with a very nice idea. I suppose it was due to time constraints, but I felt cheap finishing the game using three or four times the same cross room. Still an incredible entry though, well done!
I enjoyed this concept and its execution. Very cool mechanic for changing the world piece by piece! I would love to play a bigger version of this, like you suggested electrical wires traveling through the pieces. Thanks for coming to my stream to suggest i play it.
Polished and amazing entry. Would have loved to see more levels!
I love the combination of platformer and puzzle game! I've never played a game quite like this and it is amazing. Definitely has a lot of replay value as there are so many combinations to try! Keep at it!
So good game. Polished and feels like it ready to release at steam right now) And sorry that I didnt see all content by myself, cant unlock anything after 4 block
This game is just amazing :D
This game is incredible.
I don't know how he did this in time for the compo...
awesome work
yeah, a lot of fun! masterpiece
Good puzzle, awesome graphics
I guess the rest of us have to step up our game(s).
First easy 5 star I've seen this jam. Great job.
Amazing take on the idea, and it's just incredible how you managed to do everything in just two days. Great job!
Terrific game. The intro was pretty clever and I loved the live-level-creation mechanic. The physics felt a bit weird, specially when pushing the boxes. It has a Fez-like aesthetic but I didn't like the music.
We also made a game (not in the amazing 48 hours gap like you) so it would be great if you give it a try.
( ̄(エ) ̄)ノ
@mapedorr Thanks :) Box pushing probably feels strange due to the animation speed not slowing down even though you;re moving slower. :P The music was what I mainly made in an early 8 hour stint on the first night based around a more dramatic storyline which I didn't have time to implement.
wow, the vibe feels a lot like Ori and the blind forest, there is also lots of effects that add some juice to it .. the puzzles are challenging and the art is flawless
excellent concept! I enjoyed playing and watching other people play this game. congrats!
This was brilliantly executed. The concept was incredibly innovative and the difficulty curve left me feeling challenged but never frustrated. The art and audio really helped further the mood, too. The only bit of criticism I have is that the four-way intersection block didn't quite fit with the others visually. Given the level of intricacy that you pulled off with the other blocks in such a short time, however, I'd hardly call it a real issue.
What a fantastic entry. Brilliant work!
Amazing all around. Great work. I would encourage you to turn this into a full game.
Well done. I wouldn't mind puzzling myself through a full version, maybe variable tile shapes, strange powerups, weird obstacles and enemies, sneaky puzzle tricks, and other cool stuff. You can really see some cool potential here. Good on ya.
Yeah, this one is the winner, no doubt.
Impressive, just... impressive. Congrats man !
Round Experience, the end got me clapping. Nice design, concept for the theme, graphics, audio, and controls. 10/10.
This is **almost** the best game i have played here so far
**BUT**
the controls are horrible in my opinion i accidently clicked **ESC** to close the "editing the world" window and it closed the game, and i dont like how you made that you open the "editing the world" binded to a space, i am used to jumping on a space and not opening some kind of a window, if you changed the controls then it would have been the best i have played so far.
Keep up the good work my man!
@WanSou I can't seem to win on the control front as I get comments either way regardless of which way I map it. My preference is always for WASD and I hate space to jump, but players seem split on this like marmite :P Obviously the best way would be mappable controls but it's not really an option for a jam. xD
One of the most impressive compo entry I've seen so far, and definitely (imho) your best personal creation. The concept is clever and every details are polished to a crazy level!
I loved the way my brain "clicked" at one point when I suddenly started to think outside of the box and started to design a solution that included sequences of "moves" instead of a single finished level design using the cards. The kind of feeling which is very difficult to create in a game and that makes the player feeling he is clever or something.
You did an amazing job here, well done :) I'm super happy to see another entry from you on LD :)
Man, this experience was unique for me. Too short, but too cool. Great puzzle game and great atmosphere. Theme interpretation is so-so, but gameplay is really awesome. Probably the best concept for this LD so far. Nicely done!
Very interesting game just like every nice puzzle game. Good pixel art and level design. But block with cross so simple.
Great game, Joe. Theme, gameplay, mood, all of it. It's always tough to manage a game in which a player has to jump between mouse and keyboard controls (instead of using them in conjunction like in FPS games) but you've done as well as one could hope. I think most players just had to take a moment to get used to the control combination like I did. I also dig the pixel art, very solid. (It did feel like the 4-directional block design arose from the game deadline looming, perhaps?)
Great game! The art style is amazing, but a background that is not black would seem a bit nicer.
@unept It was indeed. xD I ended up doing all the levels in the final hour. The cross piece was a bit of an emergency inclusion because I realised it was going to be impossible to complete without it as I had to cut a couple of other worlds which I wouldn't have time for. I'm not displeased with it, though. I like that is is very different and ends up being a more unique reward near the end of the game. If I'd had two hours to do the levels I probably wouldn't have had it. If I'd had 3 hours, then I probably would have, because in hindsight I think it actually works well for this size game. :)
Cool mechanics, nice pixel art, beautiful music. I had a nice time playing your game :)
Amazing game. Very polished and balanced, interesting idea and stunning graphics and music. The only annoyng thing was hiiting 'ESC' would close the game automatically, even by mistake. Also, the game shouldn't just close itself when it ends, in my opinion (maybe tell us that we reached the end and let us close the game). That said, this is a masterpiece, 5 starts in every category!
This is a superb game! The music is wonderful and the game comes across as very polished! Really like the idea of adding your own world tiles as you find them. Great job!
@joe-williamson I totally agree, it very much felt like a reward for having made it that far in the game. Almost like an upgrade or ability unlock.
Absolutely amazing. Evocative mood (visually and aurally), great concept, perfectly on theme.
Original idea, polished gameplay and game design, beautiful graphics and terrific soundtrack! Trully a masterpiece, very impressive! I only have one question. Why did you decide not to put any sound effects for character actions (running, jumping)? Was it intended or just due to the lack of time?
Perfect entry, polished and amazing musics! Good job!
Saw the YouTube video posted by a previous commenter. Immediately had to download it and try it out. Five stars across the board. You nailed it.
Edit: @joe-williamson Just a heads up that your (personal?) website is throwing an SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE error. Looks like the Lets Encrypt certificate expired 9 Oct 2019.
I like everything about this puzzle platformer, from controls to audio-visual presentation to originality. Very polished. The only small criticism I have: Background elements (walls) are the same color as foreground. This adds visual clutter and makes bg harder to distinguish at first glance
Very good entry, like playing ! I especially like the fact that I can move will I'm in edit view much easier to try stuff ;)
Really good entry!
Love it, a nice little puzzle game I could easily see being expanded into a full game.
I often tried to make a cool tool for a good level design prospective for room dispositions. And.. you make a game out of it. With a cool mechanic? This is just great!
This was amazing! I'd love to play more! Everything was on point, if it weren't for the shortness of the game, I'd have believed it to be a full published game!
I really had fun solving the spike bridge puzzle, I tried a bunch of stuff until I figured out how to teleport boxes into the room - almost felt like I'd cheesed it at that point, but that's part of what made it so fun was exploiting the mechanics to their fullest.
(In fact I felt so satisfied when I had finished it as though it were some final boss, that I totally didn't notice what I was supposed to do after that point and had to come read the description of the game again to realize how to finish, ahah)
The concept was brilliant, the execution flawless. Beautiful work. And a compo, to boot? Absolutely amazing.
This is truly amazing! Beautiful graphics and sounds, great puzzle game! I have no idea how you managed to do all THAT in 48 hours!
Just so so impressive! So amazing what you're able to pull together for a compo game, great work as always. Really enjoyed it!
Wow what an amazing game!! The best compo i player so far! the idea was really innotative to play as a "level designer" building your own world and making it really fun. Music and visual is awesome as well and immerses you well into the game! Loved your game idea so much, i hope you can get it really more polished than it already is. Awesome job for a compo game and congrats!!!
Amazing concept and the art is great. Would love to see more level. Great job
Thank you for submitting your incredible game to the stream. It was really fun to play it and I honestly feel that if you do not win or place top 3, you were robbed. This is one of the best compo games I have ever played in the 15 ludum dares that I have participated. Everything is so well done, art, code, idea, sound... you would have placed really highly even if this was a jam game. I’m really impressed!
Wow, impressive concept and wonderful art! The music is amazing! Building your own level is really fun. The puzzles are not that simple, but on the other hand it feels very rewarding to progress. Good job!
Art style is gorgeous. I raged about the final puzzle lol, made me look dumb af on stream, took me like 5-10 minutes to figure out what pieces I needed to both get the riser activated (which needed a door activation too) and get a crate in there etc, and get myself in there. Because of the lack of complexity to previous puzzles I was expecting I only needed like 1 room but I ended up needing like 9 pieces. Maybe I'm just a moron. Cool entry.
@alexrose I watched the stream and it was quite uncomfortable because it was all played at like 50% speed. Looked like a graphics card config thing which would explain why it didnt show up on the stream fullscreen but did in windowed. You may have been running and streaming from embedded gfx instead of dedicated for example.
I imagine the speed played a significant part in making it frustrating and not fun to play. I would have been frustrated at that speed also. :P I hope you can consider this factor when rating, because that seriously hampered the game in my opinion
Thanks for playing and sharing on your stream!
Cheers!
@joe-williamson Cool, just replayed again off stream and yeah.. the platforming feels way better and the menu feels way more fluid and less aggravating. I've rated you up on fun accordingly (other categories were already rated high). Also now I really feel dumb because it's so obvious now lol, just put a million of those tower blocks in that connect on all sides, I'd already pressed the button, I didn't need to destroy that room on my first playthrough.
Nice one man.
@alexrose Really appreciate you giving it a second go! Thanks! :)
This has been hands down my favorite entry of this jam. It would 100% be something I would love to see realized into a full game that I could purchase. The music and art works so beautifully well together. I found myself opening the game again just to listen to the music.
The puzzle itself was innovative and fun to figure out. Thank you for this beautiful entry.
just good
just impressive !
just impressive !
One of the most innovative concepts I've come across this LD! I love your pixel art palette.
I like "building my levels as I go", that's a very unique puzzle game. Great game, good job! :)
Congratulations, your work is spectacular! The songs, sound effects, transitions, level design, animations are all so cohesive and very detailed.
One of the best gamejam experiences I've ever felt while playing someone else's game. Thanks for the experience, I will keep an eye on your games and look forward to learning and experimenting with others.
For 48 hours' work, this is astonishing. The graphics are excellent, the idea of constructing the world as you go along is a fantastic implenetation of the theme... the music is great as it is, but then you zoom out ***and there's another version?!!*** I cannot believe the amount of polish that went into this!
My only regret is that I only managed to collect the first five worlds. I can't figure out how to get the next sixth, and I really want to play more of this but I'm completely stuck! :sob: I'll let you know if I figure it out.
I concur with those who said that this needs to be a full game. I would legit play money for a several-hour version of this on Steam.
yeah man you left me speechless that was the best concept I've seen in this jam :)
Incredible!! The ratings are well deserved. Good luck!
Amazing!!! In the top 10 of all ludum dare !!! You should sell it :-) I'm ready to pay.
Incredible.
It is a beautiful game and very genius, I found the study on the scenario amazing, creating new ways. very good your work
Superb in terms of graphics, audio and overall game design, probably some of the best I've seen in any LD (and even in its own right, LD game or not)! The only real "negative" is that it's not the biggest standout to me in terms of theme interpretation, but it's still good there too! Great atmosphere with a cute ending and some nice platforming as well, even if the main deal is the puzzliness. So good!
One of the best games I've seen so far this jam! The puzzle design is a little basic, and it seems like more could have been done to take advantage of the mechanics built (e.g. the physics-enabled boxes never seemed to come into play despite playing through to the end), but it's a great concept and it's very polished!
Wow, this is really something new - great concept, congrats on putting that up in such a short time!
My favorite this LD so far! Amazing concept, fits the theme very well. I have nothing to complaint, even the controls other people commented, worked very well to me. :five::star2:
Very cool!
THIS GAME IS ILLEGALLY COOL.
So yeah. This is a game.
Publish it.
Amazing game you made in such a short time, and it's unbelievable polished!
Amazing submission! Really enjoyed the free-form puzzling emerging from the world creation system and simple button / door rules. Once I got the four-way, everything was a bit too obvious though. That one was just a god-tile that removed a lot of the puzzly aspect of the game towards the end. Just a minor nitpick though since until then there were already quite a few interesting and tricky challenges.
The game was pretty enjoyable to play and the mechanic used was fun to try, so many possibilities. Only negative things about this game are that the music was a bit too loud+annoying and the movement controller could have been a bit better. Still, this is an amazing game for a gamejam game :)

@siimer The music is normalised so I can only suggest turning it down if you are referring to the actual volume, so it’ll sound loud if the last thing you were listening to was quiet. Or are you referring to the style/intensity? Note that it applies a distortion and filter effect when zoomed out. What about it did you find annoying? Would be useful to get a little more as I don't have much to go on when it comes to improving it otherwise.
Also, what was your issue with the controller?
Cheers!
@joe-williamson I replayed the game just to better understand the things I don't like. While the music is normalised, the thing that makes it feel loud is that the sound effects are quieter than the music. I think it should be the other way around. Also the music got annoying for me because of the style. It was great to listen for 1-2 times because it was really epic but the humming got distracting as I was stuck figuring out what to do later in the game.
As for the controller the movement is a bit too fast IMO. I think some wind-up/wind-down when starting/stopping would help. But this is nothing gamebreaking and just takes 1-2 games to get used to and the rest of the game is still really great and innovative :)
@siimer Thanks for the extra notes! Really useful. :)
I think with the music I'm going to tone it down a lot and try some adaptive audio which changes depending on the kinds of world you're currently playing. I'll certainly need to reduce the character speed a bit--jump especially--for the small scale of the worlds. Will experiment with acceleration, too.
Thanks!
Amazing concept, I'd love to see a full fledged game like this! The song sounded a little like Carol of the Bells song, which felt a bit odd, but that aside, it was a lot of fun.
Amazing game man , incredible job
Finally got around to trying this on my Windows machine, since the Mac version was being weird.
It really doesn't need saying at this point, with the most ratings out of any Ludum Dare entry and all that, but, y'know: AWESOME! It wasn't the most 'polished', but it was the most interesting and definitely the most innovative, topped off with the best music and design. Incredible work, man.
I mean we've seen this mechanic in previous Ludum Dares, but in this game everything is so well put together, it could realisticly win the entire compo.
What a solid idea and excellent execution at that.
Animations were solid as were the character design. The levels were fun and presented a good challenge to put together to reach the frog. Music was really good and set the mood for the game in a good way.
This could be fleshed out and sold as a commercial game in my opinion. Very cool.
Wow, amazing work here. Well done!
This was an AMAZING little game with adorable art, great audio and an incredible concept. I hope you continue with this and release as a full game. Awesome job!
Looking at all the comments, I'm so frustrated that I can't start the game on my computer. Any plans on maybe making it playable in browser?
Edit: Nevermind, I managed to start the game. For the records, you won't be able to play it if you try to start the game from a folder with non-latin characters in its name.
Edit 2: And I'm so glad I played it, this is hands down my favorite entry in this jam. Congratulations to whoever made it!
Holy moley. Amazing work for a compo game! The style, the level design, the graphics and the epic music. Great job!
I got stuck pretty early in, but am guessing things that are repeated ( boxes / lifts ) all work in unison?
This could definitely be expanded more post-dare!

Really nice job with this game! The tile placement mechanic was really clever. The puzzle design was really good. My only grip is having the zoom action on the space bar. I died so many times accidentally pressing it to jump >_<
Wow, this was an absolutely fantastic entry, great in every category. Really nicely done, good job.
Ok, I don't know if I have anything new to add that hasn't already been said.
Just wow, incredible. I really truly hope you make this into a finished game that I can play on my Switch. I'll definitely buy it.
Amazing graphics, music, mood and the mechanic is just bonkers on how cool it is. Thanks for this entry!
Really amazing job! I'm also one of those people who tried to jump using space at times (perhaps because of playing other jam games that used that) but it wasn't a big thing. Everything else I loved. I also liked the change in audio when zooming out that Keith mentioned and think it added to the polished feel of the game. And the whole idea of world building was really nice and worked well, and being able to play in both zoom modes was a nice touch, making things again feel even more polished. All in all, a very solid and absolutely incredible effort.
I was one of the people for whom everything worked like a charm on macOS. I played this on Mojave using full screen (just in case that helps narrow down the problem).
This is so pretty and impressive. I like the tile mechanic and the art style!
Lol, amazing game, probably the best i've seen, damn this is a potential product!
Very awesome idea and very well made, one of the best. One little thing: there were a few times I press esc try to go back to normal view from map dragging view, and I quit the game...
Awesome puzzle game a very innovative use of the theme!!! Excellent graphics and music!! This is a very polished game and well worth high ratings! Excellent work!!!
Called it!

I saw a flappynerd.png and title_flappynerd.png, I think there should be a way to open the game? But I didn't find it .
