LD44 — Your life is currency

Meat Mountain by gamechoy 2019-05-04T16:14:24Z

The audio is nice, and I like the art, idea is pretty good, I the dialogues and the story follow-through are surely a great part - well done. However, not to lie this lack implementation and game feel, yes the time pushes and I'm sure with more time this would have been at a much greater level, as you know practice makes perfect.

I went through tutorial and read the description but combat was still unclear and unresponsive what exactly the combat does. You should put more time into animations as well, but overall a good try!

Edit: Were you working alone by the way?

Your life is my money by squaredev 2019-05-04T17:01:46Z

As soon as I opened the game, this tribal music filled me with joy, its honestly great. The fact that sounds differentiate based on what animal you interact with is a adds varience and they are pretty funny. Graphics though are simple, the game is 3D and they are made in 3 days and are enjoyable to the eye which is a great plus. The game was very fun and easy to catch up on what to do.

Lol poor ships that were used to open the route xD

Attack animation feels a bit sluggish. I think making it more rapid would be a great idea. There was a bug: 1- Sometimes animals are stuck in objects and dont move, or if lets say you push a sheep into the spikes and release it, then you cant interact with it anymore and you cant pass on, animals shouldnt be able to go into that hole.

Overall its an amazing experience, I dont see much good 3D games made in 3 days which accounts for any bugs, well done guys!

(You rated a lot of games gj on that too, shows how dedicated you are )

Heartaker by lukbebalduke 2019-05-04T15:21:40Z

I got most fun from this game then from any other I played yet! Considering its a compo game its an amazing entry! Idea with enemies only killed on stains and the movement feels very responsive and great, I was surprised to see upgrade menu after death, suits the theme well and looks great too.

I think option skip the dialogue after death or speed the text up on click would be great its too slow right now.

Unfortunately I couldnt reach 100 hearts because the game did not open fullscreen and I whenever I clicked its borders it would automatically fold, which was very annoying. Maybe adding a fullscreen toggle would work? Apart that the game feel is really great, and for a game made in 2 days by a single person its just that amazing, I adore those effects and sounds when I kill someone!

Seaway by Constantin 2019-05-04T14:59:08Z

Graphics and the game feel are on a very high level, good job guys! I mentioned 2 spontaneous bugs: 1- When the boat keeps spinning instead of going to desired position at times 2- The water is on top of the boat sometimes at the start of the game.

Its cool and fun, but when you start out I found it hard to rise my score(slaves) up before getting killed Maybe in future if you have time, some kind of tutorial with maybe some tips on the game would be cool too. Also additional more fluent movement would be preffered like the guy above said, during fights, its hard to control everything with only a mouse, just an option of WASD there would be great.

Generally speaking I enjoyed it!

Digital Gray by fusionnist 2019-05-04T21:38:52Z

Holy f.... This is absoloutely amazing, highest score - 1080.

The music together with Voice makes it that much more fun, the game is very polished and upgrades that cost life are balanced well.

One thing though is you cant hear other sounds apart the music maybe you want to adjust that. Besides that the gameplay is extremely fun and I wanted to keep going! Definitely would love to see this game with more upgrades and enemies, keep it up guys!

What do YOU want? by Ever 2019-05-04T18:50:31Z

Well I have played this game many times but didnt get to fill the tanks xD

Music gives that office-like feel, it was fun to play for a demon who works in a company as well as some wishes like "I want my waifu to be real" that just killed me :D

Its good you have a tutorial on the game that really helped, all the balancing is made well and it gets your brain to think a bit, however I think it needs to be a little more easier to get the tanks filled.

I think some score system would be good to know how far did you go until game over like the amount of successful contracts you made or something like that.

In general it suits the theme and I played the game quite a bit trying to fill that tanks, that means that the games is fun and gets you to play it again and again, good job!

@digitaldude555 and @xkyl Thank you for feedback! We are working on controls right now, it will be easier to start off and also we will decrease the general difficulty. Btw my personal score is only 524, and I played the game like 100+ times xD

Project Slorgan: The Escape by CodeKoto 2019-05-04T22:34:00Z

@kimily and @sherlock527 Thank you so much for your feedback, it really means a lot to us. Jumping will be remastered soon to give a greater feel and easiness to the process and better control to the player, we will also increase difficulty curve but decrease the general difficulty for a funner gameplay.

Antispamming is in progress to add more meaning to heart and lungs buttons.

Project Slorgan: The Escape by CodeKoto 2019-05-06T00:09:09Z

@vinay-rao thank you for feedback! Yes that midair jump was intentional, after ludum dare we will add levels and it will act as wall jumping. We tried hard to make all these things to work together well and give visual and sound response to user. As you said we agree that the passage is restricting the players movement and it was completely proven once we built a simple open level for ourselfs but with current proc generation its hard to implement, most likely we will change to level-based system like in Geometry dash in future and this will be infinite mode. The game was meant to be tough, maybe not as much as now but dying many times is expected :D

541 is a pretty high score well done on that, even for us its no easy task, shows that you tried a lot.

Sorry if the controls took some time to use to, we are working on that.

Thanks once again!

Edit: Im grateful you put time into your comment and provided quality feedback for us

@coleslaughter Thank you for feedback! We would definitely work on levels if we would have some time for that, sorry to disappoint about that, most likely we will finish this game and add tutorial with more levels!

Bloodletter by shp 2019-05-04T15:33:55Z

Unfortunately couldn't launch it on windows, the message pop-ups "The file is used by another programm" Then the executable is deleted. Maybe its my antivirus but I cant tell.

Not blaming you or anything, it maybe a false thing, but yes my antivirus marks it as a spy ware for some reason, It may or not be the case but just incase check your files and a PC where you made the game on with good antivirus like Kaspersky. It may also be due to embedded analytics if thats present.

Bring Home the Bacon by EatAtJoes 2019-05-04T19:45:02Z

As many already said the market trade and managing the hours and getting the best trade out definetely is realized well here, and I assume with more time you could make it even better.

But first of all round the numbers down to like 1 decimal place its very easy to get confused otherwise.

Also scene transitions would make the game way more attractive.

Apart that a very good try well done, I love economy involving games especially if realized well ;)

Danko by Pixel_Error 2019-05-04T18:18:25Z

You with no doubt worked hard on the graphics! The concept and its realization is done perfectly, but requires some balancing.

The movement and combat feels a bit sluggish though, maybe it should be more rapid.

Honestly I think this entry will make its way to the top!

Super Basic Game Plus by Carbs 2019-05-04T21:08:21Z

Basic game mechanics are done very well and work fine, there could be few improvements though Even adding a simple sounds on hit from freesound.org would give it a way greater feel. Enemies shouldnt damage you when they have 0 hp, just add a line of code if (health > 0) when enemy damages you. Also increase gravity for enemies when they fall. In addition shooting is useless right now, increase its range otherwise it does 1/10 damage of what normal hit does but has nearly exact same range, this will allow to do small damage but at same time avoid trigger from enemy.

Is this done on Game maker ? If so switch to Unity one day that will allow you to expand on your skills in exponential progression. For example: You can also instantiate particles and shake the camera (brackeys has tutorial on that) when you hit the enemy or enemy hits you to emphasize on that. Also if you want to leave blood stains or something use sprite masks (Blackthornprod has tutorial on game feel and the sprite masks in general that will help a lot ) Discarding anything the lacks in the game, it has been done well within what the "Basics" of it and feels very smooth, I assume you are yet starting out and you said its your first LD project, on that its a very well done, trying and practicing makes perfect, but you just need to acquire more knowledge from different sources.

Keep it up man!

Edit: Didn't know you have so much levels 0_o gj on that too

TheDescent by geist_191 2019-05-04T19:20:34Z

Man those graphics deserve a seperate grade! Inventory system, merchant and items are my favourite features in this game, attacking is fine but maybe you should be able to move while attacking.

I didnt expect to see more level then 1 tbh but it did surprise me you had time for level building.

Cracking the things around you also feels great and adds to the feel.

Animations are good in general but you could also add particle effects or camera shakes when you hit an enemy, right now Im not sure whether I hit something or not.

Lastly sounds are great but the music finishes and does not loop I think you forgot to press loop button in on AudioSource which plays background music.

In general good job guys you came far and maybe could expand on the game!

Kill The Money by Copper_Aardvark_Games 2019-05-04T17:49:36Z

The music is just so fitting with the graphics and the general style of the game, the animations are pretty smooth too - I love rolling when you land.

The whole concept is combininig well to suit the theme, Im only worried about the health of the coins, there were green coins in air which took some time to kill and I had to keep jumping, but once you play a bit you get used to it.

As for a compo game made by one person in 2 days its not only amazing but also polished well, you definitely know what you are doing, I think you could expand on the game and add more features like weapons.

With this concept and a bit more balancing I think it can easily make it to the top if enough people rate it!

Croissants From Hell by Kimily 2019-05-04T22:43:34Z

That art is very cute, I was also a bit surprised by that small demon to close up on me, and that face when you die xD

The game in its concept and realization feels very well done, but first customer takes too much time to come whereas others rush in in a great number, there should be some curve imo.

Even simple sounds from freesound.org would make this game just so much more interesting combined with the graphics.

There is a bug when someone takes the sandwich but time runs out you see the bar fill up but still die after a second, and finally the life should decrease just a bit slower or customers choose faster to compensate for that.

Overall a very strong entry and made me smile here and there !

Chill Island by quadtree 2019-10-27T01:15:42Z

Nice, probably the plane should take longer so that you have time to climb

World Collector by Joe Williamson 2019-10-27T23:00:51Z

Lol, amazing game, probably the best i've seen, damn this is a potential product!

Starting From Nothing by sorlok 2019-10-29T05:58:47Z

Lol suicide and bubble game XD You know what I thought, Ludum Dare 43 had a theme "Combine two incompatible genres" That would fit that theme sooo well. Otherwise the game is alright, Im not particularly enjoyed bubble game but I understand it was not the main focus unlike keeping the suspect alive

Something from Nothing by Alphish 2019-10-28T05:42:47Z

Had some suspicion before playing due to lots of rubbish games out there, but was quite surprised! I like how you add something to every word (like 'hint' not much of a use now :D), I was also confused where is the music in the begining, but when it was randomly enabled it was a nice addition to the game. The game is pretty relaxing as it should be.

About the things I would change is maybe play around with different color schemes and resizable window.

In the end, its funny with how much words you can come up from 'Nothing' and the theme is covered here, because well... you start with nothing right?

Good job considering you are a solo dev!

Something from Nothing by Alphish 2019-10-28T07:10:18Z

@alphish That would be great! By color schemes I didnt mean that they are not changing, they work perfectly fine and fit as they are right now. What I really meant is, if you are looking towards improving this game any further you could play around with colors in a specific scheme (choose main color, shift the hue and/or the shade) and see what works best, something juicy and something that pops-out, but at the same time colors should match each other

For the best example look at how colors do their job in @itsdanidre's game! (sorry for the ping itsdanidre)

This quickly grabs user's attention and keeps him/her interested in the game especially since you have more than 1 color scheme already.

Unlock Everything by DDRKirbyISQ 2019-10-23T00:29:36Z

Oh man and this is compo? Probably best entry I've seen so far, unfortunately even after couple of tries I couldnt defeat the boss, but I know its purely my fault, I just couldnt keep up shooting him while dodjing his attacks. Everything in this game is pretty good. On the theme side its executed very well, and funny enough even though my game is horror and is different from yours, the concept is very similar, you unlock UI, time and things like that. I enjoyed it to my best, thank you for this entry!

Serene Sculpture by zirconcode 2019-10-28T04:31:31Z

Hey there, concept is very innovational, and somewhat fits the theme. The sound was bugging out when I removed a piece or reset a score though!

Rude Bear Refurbished by alexrose 2019-10-25T14:56:04Z

I really liked the art, music and overall atmosphere of the game. The fact that you can carry anything around is adding to the game, was running around with a radio all over the place. Let me be more contructive here

Things I liked: Art, you have your own style The approach to the theme is interesting and innovative Every house had its own atmosphere, I especially liked the house where the guy tries to spawn a Satan xD The game has humour, so it kept me playing to see new things. Animations are vivid and funny to watch I was not forced to fight but could simply avoid enemies

Things I disliked Combat - to be realistic, its very rushed, ofcourse its understandable for an LD game, but I really just wanted to avoid it as much as possible, there was no knockback or sound if you were damaged, so basically what happened is when an 'enemy' attacks you he simply goes into you and you dont see if he hits you or not, apparently even with block the enemy damages you, and there isnt any feedback for that as the enemy blocks your view. Colliders need some correction, I sometimes couldnt pass through door because collider size isnt adjusted properly

Things that could be improved: Maybe make the enemies have greater range and make them faster so that you feel that pressure when trying to steal something, otherwise I can run around whole day around the enemy without getting hurt even if I carry something

Overall, a very interesting approach to the theme, if you indeed had more time to work on combat, this would be a polished humoristic game!

Robot Trial by GlacierEclipse 2019-10-27T22:09:57Z

Really nice art and vfx, mechanics are pretty good together with upgrades, only problem is I think more world should be shown, and also you should be able to walk across the platforms

Robot Trial by GlacierEclipse 2019-10-27T22:43:15Z

would love a fullscreen version, speed up the charge bar, and most importantly after death the movement doesnt work anymore sadly which ruined the game for me

Otherwise would love to play the game with implementations stated above

Nothing to Say by celia14 2019-10-23T00:07:30Z

Haha, good take on the theme, nothing to say is the only thing he can actually say. Gj on that xD I like how everything is intertwined and comes out the way it needs to be, I was curious each time what will she say next, and trying to remember the letters I needed! Though, any kind of music would have played out very well, but even without it, its great shy date simulator with an innovative use of theme

Zen Fish by Alchemic 2019-10-29T06:34:14Z

From this point on, the game started to lag badly, you should have added some timer after you buy each fish before ppl can buy it again, so that players dont focus on spamming the first fish xD unknown.png

Moroi by kothead 2019-10-28T19:50:33Z

It gets interesting once you know what to do, players cant understand at all until you say so, probably write something in the description

Revenge of the Waffles by ristoretto 2019-10-29T05:53:42Z

Lol this is very fun concept and design of the waffles, my mouse is 2000dpi so sensitivity would be a good addition. and yes I also think that you should be able to move with the fork in hands

Jam Cultist Simulator by FiloGC 2019-10-29T05:01:28Z

Didnt see this game here before, its very similar to one of the other games I rated here

Ah nvm, after I played it, it has different mechanics, its only similar in concept. I really liked the game, got 9.3 overall after lots of tries.

The art is beautiful, the gact that icons change their color is very neat and looks cool, gameplay kept you in your full attention, I wish there would be any kind of music and sound though1

LooPatHero by Finlal 2019-10-27T12:46:27Z

Очень интересная игра, музыка, графика, прокачка все понравилось! Даже добавили русский язык, единственное хотелось бы ускорится иногда

Game from the Void by Cole and Jordan Studios 2019-10-26T00:51:06Z

Wow, first game I put 5 to nearly everything because it was fun af, like literally the only game with such unique approach and also voice acting is so great in this game, didnt expect the voice to talk to me, amazing job man, amazing job

Game from the Void by Cole and Jordan Studios 2019-10-26T00:59:14Z

I genuinly always give only true feedback, man this is just my type of game, I was sooo surprised and really wanted much more of this ! This approach is very unique and is out of the box. Came back to leave here this comment, just know that you are amazing man, idk why this has so little ratings, its soo fun, only and only game I wanted to continue playing during the jam, you know those kinds of games that directly interact with the user by opening links or if you change file in them they will react to that and surprise you a lot(Doki Doki literature club), this was something much smaller in scale but similar in concept and you have my deepest respect + this has god damn voice acting which is actually good

One thing tho lower HP on the boss, I thought that im not doing any dmg xD

The Chronicles of Stênio by UnidayStudio 2019-10-27T12:41:25Z

The game was hella fun, I wish pushing spikes into enemies would damage them. Only real problem is combat, it seems like its randomize so you cant predict attacks, combat should be a pattern and never randomized, sometimes I can hit 3 hits in a row and sometimes the monster hits me before I do that

You Gotta Be Kitten Me by Silas Reinagel 2019-10-29T00:35:47Z

I will be honest. I really liked the cats abilities, design of the levels, relaxing music and sounds and most importantly I had fun, the humour is present and the fact that there is a little story to it is nice, I see you put your time into different enemies and bosses and the game is quite large compared to others! But I didnt see the polish everyone is talking about, dont get me wrong - the game is good, but if we talk about polishing, some abilities like laser are difficult to use (especially on moving enemies) or the game doesnt teach me how to use them, the product lacks game feel and response to player actions, again it does its job but it isnt polished, there were glitches with platforms + controlling the cat was difficult at times.

I only say these as a response to some comments that say the game is polished - its honestly not, but thats the case for most LD games and there is no problem here.

Apart from that I enjoyed my time

Amor Fati by starvingindie 2019-10-22T23:26:39Z

Nice atmosphere, its a small game but it gave me relaxed vibes. I found a bug, if you create the guys next to a wall they will bump into each other instantly, finishing the game instantly, maybe you should limit the area in which you can spawn them?

I said its a small game but didnt realize it was a compo entry, sorry, its done very nicely for a game made in 1 day by 1 person

Nothing by JoelLikesPigs 2019-10-28T00:34:12Z

Very nice game design, everything is responsive and animations are quick, music fits the game very well, good entry! Only problem I had is that I wished to go back to collect all the other upgrades but checkpoint did not work on the last stage

Bob the Brawler by itsdanidre 2019-10-28T06:13:11Z

Hey! I saw this game on Stream, its very good, the colors you picked fit the game and color pallete doesnt have anything that pops out too much (in a good way) and the colors are chosen correctly according to each other, so many people ignore importance of that.

Progression is paced well, hits feel juicy and you feel your impact on the world when you see tones of heads around. I didnt see any bugs and mechanics work like they should.

I specifically like AI navigation and map generation, well done on those they are great! Music and sound just do their job, they fit the game but nothing extraordinary.

What I personally didnt like is that enemies barely have knockback after a while, I think limit to how little knockback they have should be reduced, like make it simpler for us not to die longer, the game is fun as long as you dont die for long time!

Overall nicely done, an end goal would be amazing, like even a small text after some time saying you won bla bla bla, so that people have a goal in the game.

Also thank you for rating our game, I did not know it was you until I came here from the stream! I read every feedback and take it into account for the future, you even left a comment on itch.io which is very nice of you, cheers!

Neon Void by egawag 2019-10-25T23:35:58Z

Hey there, you made a really nice game, audio hit the relaxed atmosphere pretty well, and sounds made shooting much more alive. I had a lot of fun. Graphics were simple but fitting, as a VFX designer myself, I can see that you didnt go for anything complex, but for what works with the mood of the game, and it was a correct move.

I loved the enemies, they just go so well for this game, that slow rotation allows the player to find a cube or to escape the enemy by manouvring, my respect on that.

The map generation is a seperate talk. That is what makes this game really stand out like a lot. Its very unique and extremely statisfying! If the game is bad I dont go falttering for karma, unlike some people, but this design of the world truly deserves a high rating from me!

Only problem with this game is that enemies dont really get harder so you collect the abilites but never get to use them in a fight, thats what I didnt like, but the game was meant to be relaxing I assume, and it had those chill vibes.

Overall there wasnt anything wrong with the game apart from length. You can tell from it was fun to play and even after death you dont mind going back, to collect an ability, a lot of people quit the game after death, but you nailed it. Good Job.

Our game is similar in concept where you get abilities as you go, while you are in darkness until you get the light, and it has very nice particles made by me. After you get the abilities you need to kill more enemies to geth crystals from them and improve (in order to fight the boss and learn the story) If you want you can check it out, Im sure you will like it, the VFX I made this time fit very well. We started rating a bit late so we need 3 more people to rate the game!

Thank you for putting your time into this game, from lots of crap games, actually well made games let me enjoy the rating process!

Better than nothing by Fictions 2019-10-22T23:42:06Z

Heh, had fun playing it, at first glance I assumed that game isnt that good, but after I played it, quickly got into the mood, reached 2125. I think the best way to avoid things is to go along the boundaries of the square. Nice job!

ØJE by Gaming Night 2019-10-29T01:26:32Z

Very stylish art, animations and sounds are on point. Did not like the tediousness of coming back up each time you fell

La incroyable vie de Skjewich Sciktosjiy Pswkeskek, le vice-roi en l'ebanissment by Zinkler 2019-10-29T05:42:48Z

Interesting and innovative concept, beat the game the first time, music and sounds help the games mood a lot and i like the art after win and failure. Unfortunately on my second play there was a bug where I couldnt place anything into the compass

When Nothing Came by velvetlobster 2019-10-28T07:30:07Z

Space Ninja3 -Escape from Shelter- by yasaka 2019-10-28T04:52:10Z

I love puzzle games, this is similar in concept to the game I played before, unfortunately couldnt do anything in the cloak puzzle, drugging anything to anywhere didnt seem to work, maybe I was just doing something wrong, and yeah mostly empty rooms helped to focus on the task

Modular Mayhem by Dovakla 2019-10-26T01:08:49Z

Damn the game looks like it would be very fun to play, but after 15 mins of platying I couldnt get used to controls, and couldnt find any modules because of that, it just accelerated me extremely fast, but the concept looks very fun honestly, ping me if u fix the controls

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-21T23:39:48Z

@pandan Thank you for feedback! We definitely need more of it to learn where the players get stuck, because as a developer its hard to know how difficult is it to navigate yourself as well as how hard it is to fight. Unfortunate you didn't get to see the boss, we will decrease difficulty so people get to explore more and reach the boss room and get to the ending

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-22T00:27:18Z

You are right, we will make a small trailer and add in few screenshots

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-23T04:50:15Z

@solluxx Hmm, the boss should be working fine, did you shoot the black circles that rotate around the boss, the camera must shake if you hit him. Maybe we should add boss health bar so its easier to see the total lifes left.

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-24T18:40:41Z

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-24T19:38:10Z

@stonemonkeymark Your feedback is much more valuable for us then your vote!

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-25T22:54:37Z

@darkmax14 thank you, we tried our best!

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-26T20:45:46Z

@ryjcio Thanks for feedback. Yes we know that performance is bad, didnt have time for optimization. For us it runs fine though, my processor is i5-8300H. We know that older PC's are gonna struggle for sure, however maybe you ran it on GPU and not CPU?

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-26T21:23:18Z

@itsdanidre We are glad you enjoyed it. We did not have much time to rate other games before, thats probably why we didnt get much votes D:

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-27T19:45:18Z

@mharring thanks for feedback, you could have collected sound in the beginning, its a green orb that you get after time after the doors can open, you can enter that room. Sorry if the lights confused you, I thought I deleted all big lights but I apparently didnt xD

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-27T19:49:09Z

@alphish

About the Chaos, when you kill Chaos you become Chaos,

in reality we planned a fight with Observer as second boss which would teleport, spawn enemies etc, and the player would gain abilities that Chaos had, we have part of it coded but we did not have time for the rest and few bugs prevented us from adding it.

Chaos in this game is perceived as something that allows for evolution, and progress of the species, so its not the bad guy at all, the observer actually is.

Yes the dialogue systems definitely needed some work around.

And yes we strongly wanted to use only our own assets which we did, except from a font! But thanks for recommendation

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-27T19:50:45Z

@daria-toni Sorry if you didnt like the graphics, we relied much more on particles than actual sprites and believe these decision would give a certain horror mood to the game!

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-27T21:12:46Z

@daria-toni Интересно, оказывается здесь много кто говорит на русском :D

Нет, английский у тебя замечательный, я просто не так понял!

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-28T00:40:39Z

@adhesion Complexity increased your speed power, bullet damage, health, regeneration, fire rate and bullet speed ! Stability drops each time you die, if it reaches 0, you become unstable and the game finishes. Thats how much effect it has on the gameplay.

We purposefully downgraded all the enemies and the boss since players could not defeat them, instead of exploring the rooms and getting above 1000 complexity they rushed to the boss and died. Personally I would make the game with less enemies but harder ones and much less stability.

Level design was nearly linear, sorry if you missed something, you probably decided to go backwards right?

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-28T03:01:30Z

@lilkrit Map is definitely a great idea, but obviously we will add it after LD ends.

Btw, only some of us speak Russian, @wolf-neon is British, we had to translate some comments to him, its funny how many people with fluent English, are actually Russian speakers. Guess they lived in a foreign country for a long time, just like us

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-28T06:27:36Z

@neon-glass thanks for a great feedback, unfortunately we didnt have time for managing navigation correctly, its our fault. Pick-ups in this game impactful because of: screenshakes, particles, post processing, and appropriate sounds combined, time-slow, pitch and volume decrease of the sounds which helps player concentrate on the pickup!

WE WISHED for a fight with observer, we had coded around 90% of it, but there were bugs that prevented us from adding it to the game, as it happens with every jam :D

Great to have people actually finish your game and give constructive feedback, helps you improve!

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-28T06:32:20Z

@brokenmirrormedia Not so much post processing as I guess unoptimized level design and some of the codes, we are pretty experienced in the game feel, but when it comes to optimization, we need time, a lot of it, sorry for that..

'Final stage of the boss fight' speaks for itself doesnt it? We wanted the player to feel under pressure of dying, but again even if he did, not much is missed it was close to the end of the game :D You wouldn't restart as long as your stability is above 15%, otherwise yes you restart (In my opinion players who were careful from before and took their time + smart play are rewarded with easier boss fight! On the other hand players who rushed a lot should feel the consequences...)

We maybe made the boss fight a bit more difficult, but trust us its not even 20 % as hard as we planned it to be xD

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-28T20:28:42Z

@pandan Yep! We will take a short break and then start to work on postLD version

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-28T22:44:47Z

@digital-pie and @grahamax We are glad you liked it!

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-29T04:41:28Z

@pichuscute0 sorry if it felt that way! I think variety of weapons and enemies would have fixed that but unfortunately we didnt have time to implement the 2nd enemy type

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-29T16:58:34Z

@scsc Im sorry to hear you didnt have opportunity to fight the boss and see the ending, we know that the game is badly optimized. Try to run the game using CPU instead, some people said it helped them. The game is very unfavourable to low end PC's because the text is displayed based on frame rate, shouldnt have done that. In what way is LMB/RMB confusing btw?

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-29T21:47:19Z

@scsc Yes ofcourse, postLD version would have much more things explained, which we didnt have time for in LD so we wrote about controls in description instead. The thing about 1000 complexity, one of the neutrals says it to you but yes we shouldnt rely on dialogue for telling these things thanks for feedback!

Never Ending Entropy by CodeKoto 2019-10-30T00:45:55Z

@allbetsareoff we took all your feedback into consideration!

Space Shooter by notgreat 2019-10-29T06:21:26Z

I agree with other comments who say a shooter versus more enemies would be a better idea. Personally controls were also a bit tedious to use

HEARTSCAPE by ZakAmana 2019-10-22T23:51:46Z

Wow, the game is very polished, and its an amazing entry for compo, sounds, animations, music everything gave a great atmosphere. Only complaint - not enough levels xD

Muscle Typer by organicpencil 2019-10-29T06:45:53Z

Lol, this game is hilarious. I either did no mistakes or maybe 1 after 2 retries

The guy in the TV screen was pretty good decision and pretty funny too! unknown.png

Race of time by Darkwing00Duck 2019-10-26T00:15:30Z

I never lie in my comments, thats my principle. Ok the concept is good, but its implemented terribly, there are a lot of bugs, problems with controls, the player's rotation is too fast it hurts your eyes, no animations, etc. I assume you are a beginner or did not have much time for everything, and its totally understandable, try to go with something you can finish and have a bit of time to polish, time managment and picking right ideas is crucial, you obviously can't go for placement in this game jam, but see it as opportunity to improve your skills, and get experience. Just the fact that you are participating is amazing on its own, never give up, we all have been there and went through this, it still is rewarding. You cant call this a prototype, so in all honesty the people who ask you to continue on the game, imo you shouldnt, first acquire the skills, I think until I made my first good game that people like it took me like 3 years of scrapped projects, and I wasn't limited by time, so dont get upset!

Elementary Trouble by teo989 2019-10-27T21:43:43Z

Nice graphics, wasnt sure why I would ever need wind element, when water just takes them all out or fire!

Battleground Command by gamedevkng 2019-10-28T04:43:39Z

Ok, so the music was just awesome and fit the atmosphere extremely well, like you couldnt find anything better, I was like scared when the siren went off and the music built up. I got few problems, I have resolution of 1920x1080 but didnt see any UI, then the speed of the rotation was too fast, motion blur ruins fps game, remove it. It was hard to find a weapon and I barely found ammo, until I did I was half dead already, I wish there was more of that, less enemies and maybe enemies shouldnt have colliders but only triggers so you can run through them otherwise they pack you lol

Garden Breeden by Rhiannon 2019-10-28T23:53:42Z

Honestly, the game needs better instructions on what to do, I like the calm music that gives relaxing atmosphere

Deliv' 51 by Larnin 2019-10-28T23:28:37Z

This is a very fun game, got upto 7 deliveries. Though sometimes aliens just lock you inplace and you cant do anything, not sure if there is anyway to destroy them

TikTok Simulator by AljosaCT 2019-10-27T12:59:26Z

Wow, a game from scratch, thats very surprising, why didnt you go for something simpler to use like Game Engine Unity? The game has lots of humour and doing it via game engine would save you tones of time!

I didnt like that time to wait was this long tho, when people rate Ludum Dare games they dont want to wait for a mintue or 2 doing nothing, thats a note for the future!

Slime Slayer by ZachZ 2019-10-27T13:23:32Z

Haha I see the reference to Goblin Slayer! Well done xD

CAT-A-COMB by Neon Glass 2019-10-28T05:21:30Z

Wow, didnt expect this to appear here, the art, concept, sound, humour is on a decent level, its not amazing, but it definitely would go there if more time would be put in the game, otherwise if you are only person working on the game, this is pretty good, first I thought I was dying randomly but there was a timer, which is neat since it forces you to do mistakes, I replayed the game quite a lot hehe

Mitosis by MediocreMonty 2019-10-26T00:00:25Z

Concept is innovative, I myself study AS biology and enjoyed this game a lot. As others stated there are few bugs with the game, but if you fix them the game will be very interesting

Truth of Nothing by Ty Victorson 2019-10-27T12:55:08Z

Running and walking is very slow, but rotation is too fast, you sure you put input into Update and physics into FixedUpdate? Jumping while running did not work well too, and the game closed after I fall off instead of restarting or going to check point. Lack of music was taking off a huge part of the game as other already said. On the good side, I liked that the task was very clear and place to go was marked with a red beam thats neat

バクラウBloodless by Danilo Freire 2019-10-27T23:27:50Z

Overall the game is really good, I would have nothing to say, but 8 people worked on the game, so its expected

House of Volans by benk 2019-10-26T01:54:31Z

Yeah the story is unique definitely xD Audio is great, not my type of art tho, but it wasnt bad either. Was confused little on what to do to the bosses first but then realized it after some time.

Nothing is my car ! by T-Bo 2019-10-29T00:18:25Z

Thanks for the web version! Game is fun to play, and atmosphere is relaxing. Idea is innovative, I had a problem clearly seeing side of the roads however, maybe a camera could move one to the left/one to the right im not sure

Goblin Keeper by Darkmax14 2019-10-26T01:33:56Z

I like the concept, always liked this kind of games. Audio is nice, different kind of sounds and approach to the story elements and the presence of the story in itself. But here there are many things lacking visually and in terms of gameplay. Its obvious because trying to finish such huge project in 3 days is simply not possible, at least estimate your capabilities, and take smaller project next time, but finish and polish it, this will bring great results, at the moment you dont want to race with time on projects you cant polish or at least make an enjoyable prototype. Small polished prototype is way better and much more highly rated than large but clumsy and unpolished project, at least in my opinion. But the fact that you participated is really great, this experience and skills you acquired are always rewarding in the end

HONK by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2019-10-28T05:56:38Z

Oh man, didnt expect anything like this, the normal LD version was so polished that I decided to play postLD and its way harder + has the things I wanted to tell you that LD version lacked. Overall I really enjoyed it my max score was only 1000, little bit of more ammo would be appreciated

Out of insight by Dina 2019-10-28T23:39:44Z

Мда, музыка реально стукнула в душу. идея красивый арт и очень инновационная идея, но были сложности с подбиранием цвета! И иногда хотелось бы возможность ускориться

Ludum Dare Simulator by Marcin J 2019-10-28T08:23:30Z

Haha, such a true game

itemless by NachtWitch 2019-10-28T08:13:02Z

Idea is extremely interesting, but unfortunately I didnt understand how do get out of the base once I built it

Spooky: The one who lost everything by Susumu Asaga 2019-10-28T07:58:41Z

1st game to get a 5 from me in graphics, they are just amazing, well done, they also include animations. I loved the game it was super fun, you introduce the mechanics and then apply them all in one huge and relatively hard level where you also learn on the way that you can quit the lamp before it actually breaks (didnt know that xD)

Amazing graphics, animations, mood, fun, mechanics and level design, felt like a breath of fresh air to me!

Some kind of ending would be interesting to see, I was already invested in this small story lol

Nothing On Frontlines by Pavel Ivanov 2019-10-29T00:07:28Z

Idea is executed well, what I didnt like is that space taken up by dummies doesnt allow me to put cannons around it, meaninng that guys usually penetrate the cannon first if they come from specific directions, which really makes the game after 4 minutes difficult to beat. but overall for a compo game this is really good

Nothing For Heaven by Xotsu 2019-10-29T01:45:29Z

You have decent art, it looks like you are trying to go for Hollow knight style, sometimes places you can stand on were badly defined however. Any kind of animations would be great too. Music isnt bad. Any kind of feedback for player actions would profit the game greatly. But its pretty hard to do that in 3 days. Finally difficulty should be decreeased by giving spikes smaller colliders. I also dont like that I had to start from beginning couple of times. But in general a great entry, always do what you like doing!

Mr.Grind by iozsaygi 2019-10-27T23:47:43Z

Ok look, in terms of the game i haven't got any problem, everything was ok. But cmon' clickers for a Ludum Dare competition xD

Oh I just realized its your first entry, taking my words back its a really good start!

Summoning Soup by Digital_Pie 2019-10-29T05:33:40Z

Lol nice theme for halloween, creepy as well, I liked various soundtracks and the charge mechanic, also the fact that the game has 3 bosses with stages to them. UI in game to show your lifes would help a lot, otherwise idk when to use the coffee mug. Unfortunately on the second boss I somehow was catapulted away from the map, probably a bug.

Monolith by Kalucifer 2019-10-26T02:55:09Z

Yeah interesting, couldnt understand what to do on 'finally' stage tho, is there anything after it?

Word Salad by philliptrudeau 2019-10-29T06:11:51Z

Haha, I wouldnt be able to code that from scratch good job man, Nevertheless Im not taking into account how it was made or who made it, Im here to judge the game itself.

Concept is amazing, but I would love to see list of words ingame I ended up only using 'ting', 'it' and 'no' in the end.. Punching is working fine and feels great but zombies spawn too quickly imo. Also I think letters shouldnt stack onto each other its hard to see what you pick up

Graphics are not great but its obvious since you made the game from scratch.

its admireable you did that, but I dont think games made from scartch in 3 days are any match for games made using game engine in 3 days. I wish people with cool concepts like you didnt recreate the wheel and implemented their ideas to life using game engine and had time for polishing, cuz I would love to play this game polished!

Oh you even applied to Compo, ffs, I know you wanted to see your limit, but if you did it for Jam on game engine instead, I would love to see the result and play it!

Memories of Eleph by Leandroc 2019-10-29T01:35:55Z

I loved the art, its beautiful, everything apart the water mechanic I liked in the game. I think when you hit monsters with water they should not damage you, thats just stupid I died couple of times like this

Lucifer's Rise by hydrate 2019-10-22T23:22:32Z

Loved all the drawings, its hard to avoid monsters because camera view is narrow. There are couple of bugs to, when you cant jump until you get hit again, and when you jump off the platform, force is added to the player so it kinda lags in backwards direction. Ithink art is outstanding and thats the best part of the game

A Field of Flowers by KeithSwanger 2019-10-29T02:18:53Z

The game does whats its meant to really well, it was extremely calm experience, the bloom animation is really good. Music and sounds were on point too. Its a great experience, but that said I did not find a goal in the game apart from covering everyhing in flowers and grass but once I did so, nothing really happened, so everything is great apart from fun

Rhythmic Nothing by Vyndilis 2019-10-28T05:26:53Z

I like the song, this feels just like one of those relaxing android games to play!

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

The forgotten jacket by CodeKoto 2018-04-24T13:35:26Z

Hmm... we encountered that bug just right before publishing, usually its gone after reopening the game, but it seems to be random and hard to replicate (nothing like that in editor) thank you for feedback however!!!

The forgotten jacket by CodeKoto 2018-04-29T21:28:02Z

Yeah, we nearly finished the story part and will soon add more characters and so, in combat it would be number of hits rather than hit/not hit and it may seem bit bagged, because time finishes just a moment before the bar...

The forgotten jacket by CodeKoto 2018-05-01T03:01:35Z

@CodeKoto: 1. Walls added 2. Ephasizes on the moral choice 3. Some little bug fixes (not all) 4. Easter egg in the end. (and tree removed)

Next to come: 1. More dynamic combat (enemies-only) 2. Improve char. stories 3. New char. stories 4. 3-4 Characters 5. Different backgrounds 6. Fix some little bugs 7. Adjust android version 8. Publish android build
