i made a game in ue4 and my html5 didnt work can u help?
This is an interesting game, I feel like there's some cool stuff going on here! That said, some of it was a bit confusing. Principally, two things confused me:
1. What was the point of building anything? Was there in fact anything to build other than a wall? 2. Was it supposed to be possible to have more than one ember? If so, how were you supposed to collect them?
My experience was that I started the game and was already low on food; I found and ate some berries, lost some health but was no longe hungry, saw a few trees on fire, collected an ember and some wood, then the plane showed up. I ran back to the top of the mountain, built a wall, didn't see how that helped me, dropped all my sticks and pressed '3' over and over again until the sticks caught fire and I immediately won the game.
If I had any suggestions, it'd be to maybe slow things down just a tad. The plane arrived before I had even quite finished figuring out the controls, so I just ran to the top of the mountain and set a fire and then the game was over; it'd probably be better if the player had more time to explore before finishing.
All that said, this is still an impressive creation, particularly as a Compo game. I especially like the music. Well done!
Wow, I'm amazed you made ALL of this in 48 hours. It's insane. Intuitive controls, cute little art and nice sounds. Awesome job! Best of luck!
Impressive survival game! feels like MC and the control was nice, but I got stuck in some places after I place the bricks(or maybe the trees) and I just cannot jump or move out of it, maybe thebug can be fixed by decreasing the collision volume of items I guess
Nice, probably the plane should take longer so that you have time to climb
That moment when you've built a fire and still watch the plane fly away, knowing they can't see it because you're behind them, is just so...authentic. This is a neat little experience. The sounds are neat too! I'd suggest a crosshair or something so it's easier to tell what you're aiming at (or how to adjust to aim at something.)
Edit: I swear I thought I read the notes but just realized that they explain the bars. Nvm.
Also! The berries having an unexpected effect is a neat touch. Someone stranded on a deserted island likely wouldn't know the local flora, and it makes sense there would be some experimentation.
I liked the minimalist graphics and the mood that the music created. I did think the sounds were a bit too harsh, they should probably be a bit quieter or softer.
The game required me to act really quickly and to figure out the mechanics and the point really quickly as well, so I didn't manage to get everything set up in time. I guess that's more an issue of balancing. When you're working alone and you know exactly how the mechanics work, it's hard to think how other people will understand it :)
Really interesting and happy to have played it!
I think it's cool that everyone creates their own little survival story when they play your game. I froze to death once but was determined to catch the plane the next time and did. The victory is a bit sudden and I never saw any plane visual. I really like how you have the dynamic help - it works. It is a bit heavy handed, but I personally prefer that assistance since it's missing the cues/visuals that might exist in a game with more development time.
It might be good to make the final goal stand out somehow. "Destroy Ganon"
Agree with previous poster on a crosshair or other visual that indicates when you can collect something. The sfx/levels need to be balanced.
Anyway my post is mostly nitpicky.. great job!
Cool little survival game, first time round I died by freezing to death in the water foolishly. I would like to see this be worked on more! Good job!
Very neat visuals reminding me of Minecraft. I liked the music and concept. The goal seems to be survive so far and I think if built upon the concept it can be more fun. overall great work.
A decent little experience, though I wish auto jump was a thing instead of having to constantly spam space to climb things.
