Birdbird can't fly! by Togimaro 2018-08-14T12:46:29Z
Awesome! Very polished game, with a lot of humor, a smooth gameplay and a well balanced difficulty. I particularly like all the absurd details scattered throughout the game!

You really nailed the pico8 style, love it. With some balancing there really is a lot of potential there!
Physics based cooking game revolution edition! The kings design is as hilarious as the goal, especially seeing him looking at you from 3 meters above, his eyes saying "more food!". The end screen actually got a laugh from me. The web version is not that fluid but I'm not sure you can do anything about that. If you do a post jam release, which I encourage you to do, adding recipes, maybe requests and most importantly smoother controls would be perfect!
Keep it up!

Very good core idea, I love it! The screenshake is very satisfying but I don't know if it is a bit laggy or the fact that you are transparent when moving but it feels like it could use a bit more feedback. Well done for doing this in one day!
Cool, a card game! The system is pretty good, maybe a bit easy when you understand it. The research cards are at fault I'd say, or the infinite deck you have as a player. There were quite a few UI bugs in the web version but it was still playable and enjoyable. Good work!
(oh and funny name too ahah)
Cool concept! It kinda lacks a scoring system but I can imagine it, with some bonuses for taking care of sorting your junk. I like that the graphic style goes well with the absurd concept of the game, and the "death" made me laugh ahah. Kudos for porting to Linux, but the framerate on my machine made it unplayable whereas surprisingly, the web version was smooth. Well done for doing it alone anyway
What a gem! The writing is flawless, changing in style with the age of the MC, and the feels are presents. The few graphics are really clean, and the music is in harmony with the mood. I hope as many people as possible will find your entry because this is really good!
The humor too
Fits the theme perfectly, panic/10 would install virus again
My bad, I forgot to publish on Itch.io! Thanks for telling us so quickly @dominic-graziano!
Wow thanks everyone! I'm super happy that we managed to convey the mood we wanted! We will probably do some balancing updates later, thanks to your insights!
Indeed the controls are hard by design, I can tell you that with a little training you can do some pretty neat moves.
The first thing we will add in future updates will probably be a scoring system, to give players an incentive to push themselves, but yeah the difficulty curve is not steep enough.
Glad you guys liked it! We wanted to add a level counter but we finally preferred to polish more the game so we will add this feature amongst other in the post-jam release.
Cute! The meowings are as annoying as my cat's so that's (almost) a good point, I love the graphics and the concept is just hilarious. Also it doesn't feel unfair so losing is just frustrating enough to keep you playing, awesome. (Thanks for the Linux port!)
Nice! Good mix of an existing concept with the twist of the theme, well done!
Hard to grasp at the beginning, but I found myself playing this game wayy longer than I expected! Really no big flaw, it just needs some polishing, great potential here.
Cool gameplay. The game feels well polished for a jam!
You have a nice base of a game here, the main problem at the moment being that it is too easy, too bad you didn't had enough time! Kudos for the Linux version by the way
Awesome! It has a very nice feel to it, I think I might come again to play it just for fun so very well done!
Cool mechanics, but I think it needs to be more challenging
Really nice, the art goes well with the music, and the mechanics are interesting. I wish there was more levels to play but it's good to focus on the quality more than the quantity; but please note that if you make a post-jam release I'd willingly play it! (Oh and I didn't encounter any glitch on the web version, for the record I use Firefox 61.0.1 on Linux)
Very clever system! Even lacking some polishing, it's already fun to play. Looking forward to a post-jam version
I can't tell you people how happy I am to see that the sounds I made are well received! That was a first for me and I had a lot of fun making them, so I guess it will not be the last time I make weird noises for a game
We are well aware that music is the biggest thing that our game miss, but we will probably start a post-jam version soon and music is at the top of the todo list so stay tuned!
Anyway thank you all for your feedback, we really appreciate that
@hellsquirrel thanks for the feedback, we'll think about it
Heyy @lise-carreel! These are indeed things we are working on at the moment, first some background music, second better signals for the player. Thanks for the feedback!
Niice! Your game is well rounded, it deserves some more polishing but I think you're onto something. Do you plan to make a post-jam version? Whether you do it or not, here are some thoughts and annoying suggestions: - I like the art. That's the strongest point imo. - The AI is simple but actually not bad, kudos for you because a bad AI would probably have harmed your game. - Maybe the music is a bit too loud? - You should probably make it that grabbing and throwing are done with the same key. - Also if I'm not mistaken you can only throw to the right, which feels not right (lol). Maybe the solution to these two problems would be to throw in the direction of the mouse with the MLB, in which case makes my last point irrelevant . - I never used the sprint, it could be interesting to add a mechanic to force the player to run? Otherwise removing this feature would simplify the controls even more which is never bad. - The shield is interesting, although I didn't really felt like I needed it. Also it would be easier for the player if there was some kind of visual hint that it is full. - Some telegraphing would be nice. - I'd say the biggest issue is with the collisions, it feels like you can't reliably anticipate the outcome of your hits. (Will it hit? Will it push the enemy into the pit or not?) and there are some positions switch that can be disturbing. I think the problem lies mainly in the knock-back management and the fact that your attack range is not clear enough.
I hope I don't sound patronizing or anything, the reason I was able to think about these ideas is that your game has potential. Anyway good job!
I see potential here! Nice art, and there's already a nice atmosphere. Too bad the sound is barely working :/ Will there be a post-jam version ?
Hey @leothil I'm back! The problem with sound is not that it's not working, but it just cuts often, and I think it's not always synchronized. I'm using Firefox 63.0.3 if that helps. About the post-jam, your friend is not wrong, finishing a game (as in "not continuously making updates aimlessly") is an important skill. But I'd say that there's no absolutes, if you think there's a potential to be fulfill in your game there's nothing bad in trying to reach it. The real question is "do you want to do it ?". Anyway, cheers mate!
Love the art, it looks very polished. The gameplay feels hard and finnicky but not to the point of being frustrating. It's the kind of game that you can get good at if you put in the time.
