Kudos for completing a project! The art looks great and the premise has promise. I just wish it was faster instead of being so slow.
Cool art, not much gameplay but funny dialogue!
@ted Thanks for playing :) Indeed we wanted to make kinda contemplative and resting game, but we asked ourselves the speed question.
@freixo Thank you too for playing and feedback. The priest was meant to be able to switch between items and powers unlocked with levels through an inventory to kill those sacrified people in several different ways, but we lacked time :)
Nice art, fun dialogue (the poet's speaks in rhymes!). I think I'd like where this was headed!
@eclahn Thank you very much ! I'm glad you paid attention to poet's rhymes :D
I see potential here! Nice art, and there's already a nice atmosphere. Too bad the sound is barely working :/ Will there be a post-jam version ?
@ever Thank you for playing dude !
About sound, there is a known bug wich prevent music to start at the beginning of the game. If it happens, actualising browser page should fix it. Did you experienced other bugs ?
About the post-jam version, i wanted to implement at least inventory, items, powers, and differents ways to kill victims, with maybe a bonus xp points if you kill special characters in the good way (burning the witch, add a knife to the murderer and kill it with a knife too).
But my friend convinced me that a Jam game is what it is at the end of the Jam, and i must satisfy myself about that, learn from my mistakes and make better what i think i did wrong for the next Jam.
basically the only thing lacking is the gameplay, the rest is really good ;)
Hey there! Cool experience here, it is not heavy in gameplay but i can see where you were aiming for. Great graphics, sound effects and an overall mood. Maybe give the player more things to do in the game so they can interact more, i think it would improve a lot. Great concept.
Cheers!
Wow i really enjoy your songs and graphics, really good game! Good job
@bananabobbert @bendev-games Indeed it lacks gameplay, even if it was meant not to have a lot of it and be a contemplative kinda game, inventory, items and powers were the core of it but i wish we had a graphist to do those other "way to kill" assets, code for those is almost implemented tho.
But i'm glad you can see where we were aiming for ! Thanks for playing and feedback !
Thank you @dizzy !
I also experienced the bug on the start screen, but reloading fixed it. The graphics are awesome! I like the ginger one :) The dialogues are funny, especially the poem. Too bad the time of ludum dare is so short.
@helen Thanks for playing and feedback!
About LD time, constraints make us learn! I feel i learned so much for my first GameJam in such a short amount of time, especially about time management and priorities! I like it :)
Good - Cool graphics - Interesting world. Who is that character in white? Why are people lining up and willingly jumping off a cliff? And why don't people just push him off the cliff? - interesting dialogue?
Could be improved - There's no gameplay - What is the faith bar for? What does it do? - The death march takes too long
@kambing Thanks for clean feedback.
- The white character is a priest working for inquisition and killing people who match some heretic type of person. As he says, for him, it's just work here.
- Why don’t people just push him off the cliff? Maybe they will :)
- There’s no gameplay. What is the faith bar for? What does it do? Indeed we badly managed our time and couldn't implement the "choose the right tool to kill the right guy" thing. The faith was meant to unlock new ways to kill people as you earn it.
Dudes! Super cool ambiance. I dig the theme and the "lack of emotion" it's awesome!
The sounds are amazing! Graphics are cool too. It gives a nice atmosphere to the game. Well done!
@purfakt @lizouille Thank you both !
Bugfix: - Fixed jump distance on small screens - Fixed font size on small screens - Added a start screen which makes you click on page before game launches to fix the "no sound" bug caused by a new GoogleChrome security preventing any sound to play before user had any interaction with the page.
Oh, our characters are similar in appearance, cool)
Really nice art but gameplay is kinda simple (just press space)
Nice mood and overall feeling. The background noise makes you feel cold and on top of the cliff ))) Even though there are not much of gameplay, I've found myself pushing space, again and again, watching the queue of these lemmings marching to their death.
Mood and audio were fantastic. I wish there were a little more to kill them wi... I mean... ways to progress my faith.
Great ambiance, and after reading through some of your comments here the slow, plodding nature of it makes sense. I did find myself a bit bored, because there isn't really much for gameplay and the animations take a fair bit of time to play out, but the art is well done and I enjoyed the dialogue.
Nice entry here ! I liked the dialogue and the art :)
Hey @leothil I'm back! The problem with sound is not that it's not working, but it just cuts often, and I think it's not always synchronized. I'm using Firefox 63.0.3 if that helps. About the post-jam, your friend is not wrong, finishing a game (as in "not continuously making updates aimlessly") is an important skill. But I'd say that there's no absolutes, if you think there's a potential to be fulfill in your game there's nothing bad in trying to reach it. The real question is "do you want to do it ?". Anyway, cheers mate!
