LD39 — Running out of Power

Inferno by Megalink 2017-08-06T03:21:07Z

Loved the gameplay and how fluid it is, Amazing! Really liked how it resembles Doom and how the control scheme works, it is very intuitive, congratulations for that. I only think that would be nice to have a clearer way to recharge the HP, it would add to the gameplay IMO.

Feed the machine by Vivoubos 2017-08-06T00:40:32Z

Very nice gameplay! You have done an amazing job with the sound too, congratulations! The art is a bit too simple but I think that you got the most important covered up :)

The Bellwether Incident by juxipolo 2017-08-06T00:22:35Z

Love the game and the Sound, Awesome Concept too!

I just think that the game is a bit too slow, there should be options to skip text and to fast forward all the robot`s moviments

The Nuclear Age by foxor 2017-08-06T03:13:47Z

I liked this game! Although I felt it is a little confusing at first, I think that a would be a good thing to have a small tutorial explaining what to do.

Spacy adventure by egordorichev 2017-08-05T20:41:00Z

Nice game! Very simple concept but you managed to polish it a lot and add many features

Apprentice by ThiefViolinist 2017-08-05T21:03:31Z

I think that the controls are bit too hard, and the gameplay is too simple compared to the graphics. The graphics are very nicely done and the animations too! Also, I liked how you approached the theme.

Star Dodger Elite by emkiusz 2017-07-31T21:55:23Z

Nice game! I think that you should give the option to the player if he wants to play using the hardcore control scheme or perhaps another one (such as keyboard)

Devious Plant Commando by Marcenat 2017-07-31T22:55:31Z

Wasnt able to open the zip file :(

Hive Attack! by Runuchok 2017-08-06T10:08:31Z

Nice concept, I think that the game gets too repetitive, it would be nice if you added more features as the time passes instead of just rise the amount of the ammo/second that the turrets spend

Self Preservation by spencerjp 2017-08-06T00:15:03Z

Wow, amazing concept! really, really good! congratulations! It would be nice to see futher development for this game

Zombie Power Station by CodeChomper 2017-08-12T04:06:57Z

Very good entry! Really liked the concept, plain and clear. Also liked the details that you added to it such as the light from the Light pole actually changing the player sprites and the shooting knock back.

The only aspects that I think that should be changed are the projectile speed and color (could be brighter and faster). But it is just an opinion regarding a small detail, awesome entry!

Lantern by Kaban 2017-08-06T03:27:47Z

Amazing what you have done here, very nice how you designed a single mechanic and polished it a lot, it is a piece of art. Congratulations!

A Robot's Final Stand by Demandooda 2017-07-31T22:09:52Z

Nice game, congratulations for your first finished game and for the ludum dare entry, it requires a lot of effort! keep it going!

Two things that I think that could change: *Control Scheme - this is how the player communicates with your game, it is very important to help him use what he wants and when he wants, so it is a good option to make it easier for them to access each ability. *The instruction is too large, people usually skip those, so IMO it would be a good thing if you just said:

Controls: x do that, y do this, good luck!

Gameplay: You have to survive while doing z

History: Now you can explain the universe that you created

The good thing about this is that player can get only the information that they want/need before starting

Jeff Long Run by Matoux42 2017-07-31T22:27:09Z

The game is too difficult =s only managed to reach third level.

Studentron by Konstantin Boyko 2017-08-06T02:58:32Z

Love this game! Really impressive for a LD entry! nice!

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-07-31T22:40:58Z

Thanks for playing it @pfeyffer ! I agree, I was about to put a kind of clock (similar to the Don't Starve one) and change the way that the game changes the color filter between day and night (now is a linear interpolation between the colors, I need to make it weighing more to the night, otherwise the alpha channel screw things up =/)

Thank you for the advice regarding the typeface, do you recommend any source to look at regarding choosing the right one? I'm horrible with GUI elements

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-07-31T23:47:30Z

Thanks for your feedback @maffydub !

The player needs to stay on top of it 2 seconds in order to open the door, I think I should have communicated to the player those mechanics, and I should also add a pop-up clock to display the time once the player steps on anything that is time-based.

I have this big problem that I'm not very used to think as if I were the player, since I know what to do I just assume people would know haha (not intentional). Gotta fix it >.<

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-01T00:15:25Z

@internetpaulicy I'm glad you liked the art and the levels! =D I'm not very used to produce digital 2d content, I was a little afraid that it would be a total disaster.

It is intentional to make the day/night cycles affect the gameplay, although I wasn't successful at making it change the gameplay in a positive way and I should have made it clearer to the player the actual time of the day that it is.

Thank you for spending your time to play it and giving a feedback.

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-01T00:32:12Z

@lazzor Thanks for playing it. I'm not very good with the tutorial/helping the player understand the games, I hope that I will get better over time xD

@drachmor Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad you liked it! I'm kind of happy with the result since it was my first LD and my second Game Jam, I will try to participate in every edition now. It was my first time producing my own sound, I was pretty lost! I found a few nice websites such as Otomata (awesome tool) that I will surely keep using. You are right regarding the day/night mechanic, the way it is on this version, it probably just gives a hard time to the player instead of improving the gameplay. If I decide to finish/polish this game I will have to rethink about it and think about how I could use it in benefit of the gameplay in a way that it doesn't damage the core game loop.

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-01T02:53:50Z

@omnipotentindie Hey, thanks for your feedback. I agree with all your points, I do intend to make changes on those aspects case I keep developing this specific game (which I will probably do so). Any idea regarding implementations of the day/night mechanic?

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-01T17:45:05Z

@eyeskrim I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was a little worried that people wouldn't like the graphics so I'm very happy to know that you did like it.

I Will make some changes to help the player figure out what everything does, perhaps I can add an "Exclamation mark" to things that players can interact with and even a timer to time-based mechanics, I should also add a clock and make the day/night cycles clearer. I'll then share this version here too.

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-01T17:45:09Z

Thank you for trying it @binary-coder !!! Totally agree, I'm very new to producing sound (first time doing the song actually), I already added some music making tutorials from Udemy to my wish-list hahaha :) Thank you for your feedback!

By the way, I've just added a newer version with a few updated elements:

AllSunFlower.jpeg

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-06T03:32:47Z

@vivoubos Thanks for your feedback! I'm glad that you liked the changes that I've done to the later version!

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-06T03:33:07Z

@schuster Glad you liked, thanks for playing!

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-06T09:46:57Z

@minimumentropy Thanks for playing it! Actually, the caterpillar/millipede thing is the part that I enjoyed the most doing =D

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-06T09:50:33Z

@minibobbo LOL on the Bugs feedback hahaha

Thank you for such rich feedback! I did fix those features already in the post compo build, but still, I think that I should have made the levels more complexes to make full use of the mechanics in game, the day/night thing is a bit senseless in most levels due to the way I designed the levels.

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-06T09:50:57Z

@ledez Thanks for playing it, I'm glad you liked the concept!

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-06T09:53:34Z

@mamoniem I added the timer to make the player take more decisions regarding the day/night movement, I did add a timer to it after the compo build to make it clearer. I made a standard asset with the whole menu thing already done to use in Jams like this one, I would happily share it with anyone who asks for it.

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-06T09:54:35Z

@davidcmdonald Thanks for trying it! I Totally agree regarding it being a little hard to understand at first, I need to pay more attention to making it clearer to the player what he should be doing.

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-06T11:31:03Z

@aterlamia Thanks for the feedback, I'll double check the z on the objects on the scene to see if everything is in the right order.

I'm glad you had fun with it :D

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-06T13:38:42Z

@rikoclon Thank you for such rich feedback, it helps a lot! I'm still crawling into digital art, I should be putting more effort into making every sprite already in the resolution that it will appear on the screen. I'm glad that you liked it for the variety, I did work a lot to bring as much variety as possible within the available time.

You are totally right regarding the unfair challenge, I should redesign most of it while having in mind what is a good challenge and what is unfair (and unfun). THank you again for your feedback and for playing it :D

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-06T13:39:29Z

@michaeltwg Thank you for your input, I'll check those colliders boundaries and fix it :)

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-09T10:51:12Z

Thanks for trying it @arctic_allosaurus ! I'm glad you enjoyed

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-09T16:43:52Z

@cttfow thank you for your feedback! It was my first Ludum Dare, I'm glad that it went OK :D

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-09T16:43:52Z

Duplicated post

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-12T04:08:27Z

Thank you for trying it @codechomper, it is very good to see other people actually playing the game, it makes easier to see which aspects we have to change in our games. I`ve just played yours too, good stuff :)

Legend of Sunflower by johnnydalvi 2017-08-16T12:16:36Z

Thank you @kpded

Glad you liked the art style!

I thought about adding battle mechanics, but I'm not sure yet how I could do it in order to fit the gameplay.

Titan LD39 Compo by NamInUz 2017-07-31T23:04:24Z

Wow, very nice game! loved the concept.

Operation Lambda by Schuster 2017-08-06T03:02:55Z

Congratulations for your first entry! It would be a nice thing to see some more creative features added to this game in the future! I had a good experience overall, only thing that bugged me a little was the fact that you can't just rotate, only move, which can cause the player to push the mirror without wanting to

Meltdown by Sarrixx 2017-08-06T10:30:05Z

I liked the graphic and the gameplay, nice work! Perhaps would be a nice thing to add subtitle to the guy speaking while in the elevator, some people don't play with audio and even for those that do play with audio, sometimes they are not native English speakers and usually reading is easier to understand than listening. Also, Would be good to have the option to skip the tutorial (which seems that you added to the post compo version, nicely done).

Power - a puzzle game by hecticgrape 2017-08-06T03:09:00Z

Lovely level design! The game is something that already exists, it would be nice to see some different features. I like how you kept it fast and performant, good job!

Automated Explorer by Aircraft Terrier 2017-07-31T23:28:53Z

Great game, very nice and simple gameplay. I just had a bit of problem to remember some hotkeys since I only needed most of them later on, perhaps a good option would be to add a "?" or help shortkey to help players while they are already ingame.

I managed to make it bug somehow where I could control the camera freely between different maps without the need to spawn a drone. I was away from the default factory map when I died and before the animation to return to the factory map happened I pressed "2" and right away tried to move. The camera stopped the animation to return to the factory and I suddenly could control it even being pretty far from it

Very Fast Robot Rolling at High Speed by binary_coder 2017-07-31T23:37:12Z

Really loved the game, very unique, Awesome job designing it. I don't think I would change much, probably just allow players to burn down the energy without needing to wait or to walk (possibly by pressing S). Also, you could change the build name to the game's title

Torch Boy by FloBar 2017-07-31T22:36:05Z

Cool game, really like the concept, I think that the first level is too difficult

LD42 — Running out of space

Super Crate Hoarder by neipo13 2018-08-13T23:40:29Z

Nice game! you executed it quite well, congrats! It's also very fun to play, my only critique is that it's too similar to the original game

DoorsOS - RAM Simulator by johnnydalvi 2018-08-13T17:57:00Z

Thank you @raphael-maia, it means a lot to us to know that you guys liked it.

DoorsOS - RAM Simulator by johnnydalvi 2018-08-14T10:52:42Z

Thank you guys for trying our game, we are very happy to know that majority of you liked it and that the game ended up providing the experience that we were trying to make it provide.

DoorsOS - RAM Simulator by johnnydalvi 2018-08-14T22:22:39Z

That's a fast clicker right there xD @lonehearts thanks for playing it

DoorsOS - RAM Simulator by johnnydalvi 2018-08-15T12:36:46Z

@drtizzle thanks for playing it. I agree, we were about to add more types of windows with different mechanics but we ran out of time, we will definitely look into it if we decide to keep developing it

DoorsOS - RAM Simulator by johnnydalvi 2018-08-15T12:41:57Z

@bob152 thanks for the feedback, we wanted to do add the screen for choosing the driver but we didn't have enough time, another idea that we have is to add multiple programs to be instaled and then create diversity from there (and adding different steps to each one) @zlou-kote @simonaura @indegame We are glad to know that you guys liked it :D thanks a lot for playing and for the feedback as well

DoorsOS - RAM Simulator by johnnydalvi 2018-08-15T12:45:00Z

@yamifive I don't disagree, we tried to make it accessible to a broader range of people, and since we wanted the players to be able to actually finish the game while testing it (most devs will likely spend just about 5min ~ 10min), we decided to reduce the difficulty a bit. The idea is to add more programs to be installed and then create more difficult levels. Thanks for the feedback

Amistad by Raphael Maia 2018-08-13T18:44:36Z

I like the idea, the problem that I see is that there are some situations that you don't have the possibility to do anything because the items that you have available to buy don't match the ones that the customers want, you could add some logic in there in order to make sure it will overlap a bit more. Also I missed the audio, even simple sound effects can make a huge difference. Good work overall, congrats mate.

Gretchen's Head by gamebuilder 2018-08-13T23:45:20Z

I like the concept and how unique is it, I just feel that the levels are too simple and I would like to be able to hold down the walk button instead of having to press it multiple times

Dystopia Tycoon by Hare Software 2018-08-13T23:59:45Z

Wow, It's impressive the amount that you have accomplished in just a weekend, I really like this game. My only complain is that evne after taking the material, it's a bit confusing to know which resource you need to build something

Collapsing Reality by SamuelDeboni 2018-08-13T23:23:26Z

Nice game! really liked the atmosphere, gameplay and audio, but I agree with @antoined73, it's quite repetitive, it would benefit from having more types of enemies and more gameplay elements

Will Survive by foxserranu 2018-08-13T23:33:43Z

Nice game, I really love the graphics and the story overall, although I think that the gameplay is too repetitive, I guess that you guys didn't had enough time to add the monsters, but that's OK.

Void Eater by Dongle 2018-08-14T00:09:16Z

Awesome artwork and concept, although the boss is too hard, the character die too fast and, hitboxes are not very clear and there is just the boss, you could put a whole level before him imho. Either way, very interesting entry and it does have a lot of potential, keep up the good work!

LD44 — Your life is currency

Cat Your Life on It by khofez 2019-04-30T20:19:16Z

I really like the mood, but I'm not sure if you have a specific set of rule in order to make it gamey, it's more an experience than an actual playable game with win condition and rules, perhaps you could even add simple things like a slider that increases and decreases automatically and the player has to press space when it's hovering over the middle of the slider, this would be enough to make it feel more like a game.

Awesome job guys

Fehu by graebor 2019-05-04T23:12:00Z

Awesome Entry, I really like the story driven aspect of it and also the puzzles, it's impressive that you managed to do it solo, congrats!

Tree of Life by wolar 2019-04-30T20:31:36Z

love the graphics and it's a quite well executed game, congratulations to the devs. Curiousily enough, my team also made a game with a similar idea, although we approached it in a different manner, would be nice to have you trying our entry as well: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/heart-of-the-grove

Mr Moneybag by managore 2019-05-04T14:41:37Z

Most addictive game that I've played on the jam so far, congrats.

This is your life now by reuno 2019-05-04T21:53:54Z

That's an amazing take for the theme, good job! :D

PathOfForest by ThiefViolinist 2019-05-04T13:49:54Z

Nice Entry! I really like the concept of the game and the overall execution. The only two things that I thought it's a bit confusing is the Ent's AI (which is a bit dumb imho), you could make them respond automatically to the bulldozers nearby, and I also think that the controls are a bit misleading since wasd usually are the keys to move the camera.

BULLDOZERS! FROM OUTER SPACE by auxC 2019-05-01T13:26:45Z

overall an excellent entry, I really think it could get worked on and released on a store. Just need some balance since the player can lose even if he plays doing everything right (by the players perspective at least)

Heartaker by lukbebalduke 2019-05-04T15:04:15Z

Awesome entry, very polished and I love the concept, I just missed a bit of antecipation to the enemy's attack, which felt a bit unfair when I got killed.

Soul Builder by Rose 2019-04-30T21:05:21Z

I like the concept, I just feel that the game being time dependant isn't a good option for a single player game, perhaps adding something in there, even an activity that the player has to do in order to harvest the resources (it would still be time dependant, but the player would actively be doing something instead of just waiting). Other than that, that's a pretty cool game, congrats.

You life is just currency! by alexhonor 2019-04-30T20:11:32Z

That's an addictive little game xD congrats, I feel that you could add more elements to it though, perhaps some sort of way to purchase weapons in order to kill some kind of enemy in a simple style (just menu based)

Idle Idol by Daniel Moreno 2019-05-04T18:18:20Z

nice game

GÖLDF by CaptainPilot 2019-05-04T22:28:02Z

outstanding entry, you should release this game on a bigger store. Only thing that I've noted that could be fixed case it's not like that by design, is the fact that you can shoot the coin with full power at the level bound and it will be able to pass above it (managed to beat the level that you have a single 8 coin with 2 shots)

Seaway by Constantin 2019-05-01T13:47:40Z

Amazing entry, overall excellent in all categories, I jsut missed some sort of map to help navigation

Gacha by zchen 2019-05-04T15:36:33Z

nice and chill experience, congrats. Perhaps would be a nice idea to add some highlight mechanic on things that are interactable, it's quite hard to understand where you need to press at first

Dear Substance of Kin by Deconstructeam 2019-05-04T18:44:44Z

Amazing entry, I really like the mood, Perhaps you could add some animation to the overall environment's props to give it a little more or "life".

A Life At Stake by JustMars 2019-04-30T21:37:29Z

Lovely Idea, I just think that there should be some sort of indicator that the player will break a machine on the gym, for example, otherwise it's too random (the player won't feel that it was their fault)

Regal Pain by PolyHatSteve 2019-04-30T21:30:31Z

I'm a beloved leader! Há! Nice game you have in there, really well done. I love the fact that you can read the description of the events quite fast compared to a few games of the same genre that gives you a giant text so you can decide what to do.

Bloodletter by shp 2019-05-04T19:14:14Z

The gameplay is very fun, congrats for such a polished entry.

Just in Time by RocketRaccoons 2019-05-01T11:27:46Z

nice entry, I like the overall feel of it, I just think that perhaps you could increase the walk speed a bit, even though there is the possibility to buy the Spring upgrade, the initial walking speed is quite painful for a sidescroller imho

Live for Light by BustosMan 2019-04-30T11:28:44Z

Congrats for the submission, things that I think that could improve: -The turning speed is too high, there could be some sort of slerp to process the input going on; -In the End, the door requires multiple keystrokes of O in order to be opened, not sure if it's like that by design or if it's a bug.

Force of Nature by Griddolini 2019-05-04T14:05:35Z

Well done! amazing entry and quite polished, the things that I could say about what deserve some improvement I'm sure that you guys already know, after all 3 days to make a game isn't nearly enough time, and you guys did an impressive job! One of the best entries that I've played so far this ld

Cash bash!!! by Oleg Tarusov 2019-05-01T13:18:31Z

Nice game, I've found a type of "bug", if you push any animal towards the bounds of the level, you can no longer take it out of there, also a Restart option would be nice, or make it trigger the restart level after one animal has been killed. Overall, awesome entry, congrats

Blood Legacy by Magnanix 2019-05-01T11:43:13Z

Nice game and solid jam entry, perhaps you could make the enemies a bit weaker or slower, right now it's very hard. Also, an option to force the start of a wave would be nice. Nice entry overall, congrats to the devs

Blood and goods by selewi 2019-05-04T19:34:01Z

my first 5/5 to all categories, it's an amazing game, congrats! the only thing that I missed a bit was a Restart button and some more balance, but it's a Jam entry, so that's fine.

Suck'd by Japayne 2019-05-01T11:55:34Z

Awesome graphics, Jams don't give us enough time to do everything we want, right? xD I would like to see this turned into an full game.

Suck'd by Japayne 2019-05-01T12:16:20Z

that's a good idea imho, just make sure to say that it's a post-jam version

utsvulten by ditto 2019-05-04T18:53:58Z

that was... different..

The Ball's Path by EricRou 2019-05-01T12:14:14Z

nice game, I think that there is a bug when you try to to shoot when jumping that makes you unable to shoot anymore, and also having some checkpoints would be very nice. I really liked the moving obstacles part, very funny to play

LD46 — Keep it alive

Tiny Fragments by Daniel Moreno 2020-04-22T11:54:27Z

Awesome game man, it's my favorite game so far too, love the amount of depth you achieved with so little complexity, very elegant.

Tell a Fairy Tale by Zesix 2020-04-21T19:51:17Z

Nice entry, I really like the aesthetics on this one :D I like the stealth mechanic. If I were to point into something to improve upon, I would say to make it more obvious which one is the kid and which one is the adult, it's hard to tell since the camera is top down

MACHINA by Harry Alissavakis 2020-04-22T11:46:36Z

Very cool game man, congrats. It's quite impressive what you was able to achieve within a weekend of solo work.

Against The Malice by johnnydalvi 2020-04-21T19:56:34Z

@zesix thanks for trying it my friend :) It was indeed a good opportunity to try a few new things in the technical side.

Against The Malice by johnnydalvi 2020-04-22T12:36:35Z

@dukebot Thanks for playing it. Good to know that you managed to be able to play it correctly, I was afraid that it would be too complex and poorly explained

Against The Malice by johnnydalvi 2020-04-24T19:08:21Z

@kaish hey, I'm glad to know that you managed to finish it :) yeah, RTS is usually a bit bigger than what we ideally should do in a game jam, but I since I didn't had any other idea, I went for it :joy: Thanks for the feedback

BEARable apples by FlyingKiwi 2020-04-22T02:31:47Z

Congrats on your first jam mate. Solid entry, it's quite well polished. There is a bit of a snowball effect in the game right now, if you are doing good, it's very unlikely that you will lose, and if you start off bad, you won't be able to keep up with the tree dying rate, this kind of creates a flow problem.

Very good game, simple and works well.

I think it could be developed further into a commercial project, pretty interesting. I was able to find a new home for us, humans! \o/

Congrats to both of you, solid entry.

Really fun and polished game, congrats to the whole team. I was a bit confused at first regarding what I should to do to actually achieve the win condition, but after I was told that I should collect the stars it really ramped up the challenge and, consequently, the fun

@Leonard thanks for playing our game! The goal is to leave the prison by using the blocks, I totally agree that it does need more visual feedback. Regarding the simplicity, I also agree, we wanted to add more type of blocks and mechanics but we didn't had enough time to do so :/

@bobismijnnaam thanks for playing and for the valuable feedback. We have taken into account every suggestion that you gave, we do need to improve the flow of the game with some more per-level tweak and additional mechanics such as more than one type of box (perhaps explosive ones, trampoline, ammo-box etc).

Thanks for playing it @Bhavin , @malobil and @LeoRototo !

@LeoRototo , yeah, we need to add more complexity to it, just increasing the speed for each level isn't a good design method to increase it. Thanks for the feedback!

@Ben-Pearson Thanks for the feedback and for playing it. We do need to add more complexity to it to improve the flow, the actual method to increase the difficulty is to increase the box spawn speed, which isn't nearly enough to make an interesting flow curve.

LOL, we didn't expect that someone would find our little easter egg that fast xD sorry if it was an awkward moment, we added it because we weren't able to fix the bug that triggers it and the sound of the bug remembered us of tap dance, since we never added an easter egg to a game we thought it would be a fun thing to do, we laughed a lot while implementing it.

@visumecadroide thanks for playing and for the feedback, there are some tweakable graphic options in order to improve the performance, unfortunately as it is the player can only tweak it in the laucher (which he still don't know how well the game wil run).

definitely, we will keep workign on them in order to improve ourselves :)

I liked the concept, good job. Although there are some options that I feel that we should be able to use every turn such as movement and search, otherwise the gameplay will stay quite slow. Although I do think it is an explorable concept, using the cards as actions for a turn-based game, the idea itself does have a lot of potential.

Farmer's Delight: A Twin-Stalk Shooter by Dovakla 2018-04-28T11:04:19Z

Nice game :) I've spotted two issues with the main character, he seems to be using 3d physics all the time, which makes him "jump" if you are walking up in a ramp. The other thing is that diagonals make you move faster, you could normalize the vector3 before applying the actual movement so it will always be a unit vector * speed.

Regarding the Game Design, I liked it although there is a flow curve problem, the player spend too much time with the first weapon before being able to buy other ones, perhaps decreasing the price of the items or increase the amount of money each prop gives.
