LD39 — Running out of Power

Power Planet by mactinite 2017-08-06T12:09:29Z

Amazing game! The graphics reminded me of Antichamber, and the gameplay, though relaxing, constantly made my knees weak. People who are afraid of heights should not play this game! Or they totally should ;P Kudos guys this is a highlight for LD 39 for me!

Power Planet by mactinite 2017-08-13T13:01:29Z

Power Planet made it into my let's play series, where I play through my favourite LD 39 games. Check it out if you are interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-HjQqlkj5I&feature=youtu.be

SPHEER by Split82 2017-08-13T07:45:53Z

Kudos on a really polished and all around great little game! This is a solid concept that would make an excellent full-fledged game. Create some kind of story [and possibly even some sociopathically humorous antagonist ;)] and I think you have a fun game that would do pretty well as a standalone! Great job!

Amazeing Battery Life by ParkerMc 2017-08-02T18:30:47Z

Great use of the theme, and very intense gameplay! I had myself running in circles out of panic when my battery started getting low xD

Ads will tell our Story for us by Nicso 2017-08-03T15:15:20Z

I loved this little platformer, I thought the audio and the graphics were very polished and the game was quite fun! The only thing I would say is that having the 'thrust' which is pretty much a jetpack automatically ascend rather than having to press 'up' or 'w' or however you choose to play. I kept running out of power because I kept expecting the jetpack to give me some kind of lift on its own. But really that is the only thing I could think of while I was playing, very good job otherwise!

Fade by glimaleite 2017-08-07T14:53:33Z

Awesome game, really atmospheric and moody. The only thing I wanted different was a crossbow sound with more oomph but otherwise this is a solid entry!

Computer Crisis by PixelFormedStudios 2017-08-09T04:31:16Z

Haha holy hell that was intense! Excellent work, the only problem I encountered was that when the resolution was set to fullscreen it would only display a black screen but all of the gameplay was spot on! The only other thing I could mention is that the text was sometimes a little bit hard to read sometimes. Kudos on a game well done!

Station 5723: Reactor Down by Archimagus 2017-08-06T11:25:09Z

Not a bad little game, got stumped on the code for a bit (was thinking it had something to do with 1,6,8,9 :P) but then I looked up at the wall and I felt so stupid haha :P Nice work!

Saturnalia by graebor 2017-08-02T16:31:49Z

This is very atmospheric and incredibly polished. Neat little puzzles too, albeit simple. Excellent work!

I'm an (nuclear) engineer! by zgragselus 2017-08-02T16:44:52Z

I am very impressed with what you achieved over the weekend. The mechanics you have in there are great, but I found myself kind of confused on how to play? I managed to win on my first go despite not knowing what I was doing :P Still though, had a ball playing :D Excellent work!

REAMS by CameronPenner 2017-08-03T16:02:22Z

Congratulations, you scared the absolute bujeezus out of me! Kudos, and good work on a great game!

Yet Another Exhausted Day by Gao Ming 2017-08-04T08:25:36Z

Absolutely genius! This was so much fun to play. I saw it on a lets play on YouTube and had to play it right away hahaha. The only qualm I would have is that the timed camera blur is a bit off putting. I mean I get it, he's tired and his vision is blurred but at least have an option to turn it off. All the mechanics and everything else though 100% solid, kudos mate!

Pain That Binds Us by Jungle 2017-08-09T07:16:19Z

What a great little experience, suuuuuper moody. Great job!

Escape from Solar Sea Fortress by designernap 2017-08-07T13:51:24Z

Unfortunately I found this game to be really buggy. The interaction is super touchy, whenever I was holding something if it even slightly touched another collider it would go flying. When I tried to pick things up, it would pick them up for a split second and send the item flying if I didn't hold down the mouse button. And on the third level I got stuck because I couldn't get the battery to fit in the socket, it kept getting sucked in then spat out instantly but the audio as if it was working would play (but no lit up connections or anything). Another thing with the sockets is that they are super touchy, too frequently I would go to retrieve a battery from a socket and it would instantly get sucked back in again. I am quite disappointed by what I was actually able to play because I saw this on a lets play and it looked really cool! The one thing I really loved about the game though was the audio, the music and the ambient sounds of the waves are really immersive. Would have been nice to see some kind of moving water shader as well but in 48 hours I can understand why you might have left this.

Who Wants to be Alive? by ysty 2017-08-06T08:16:10Z

This is a really great idea and was super fun to play! Personally I would prefer WASD over the arrow keys, and I think the timer may have been a bit quick but I still had a great time. Good job!

Fluff Factory by Simple Ghost 2017-08-06T04:41:19Z

This was amazing haha, what a great game! Quite a unique idea, I think it would be interesting to see an expanded version of this game. Some audio would have been the icing on the cake though and really set the mood and made it all that more immersive. The only bug I encountered was when I purchased 5 food and 5 water quickly, I only got 2 of the food and 1 of the water delivered and it didn't seem like they stacked or anything to me. Kudos on an amazing game!

Plasma Arena by red-fan-games 2017-08-03T15:58:28Z

Man I wish so badly this wouldn't crash every time I start shooting, I was really looking forward to smashing this game for a while! Love arena shooters, and I love the idea you have gone for here! Some audio would have been the icing on the cake too.

Plasma Arena by red-fan-games 2017-08-04T20:19:31Z

@red-fan-games i wasnt hearing any audio, was playing the windows 10 version.

Plasma Arena by red-fan-games 2017-08-05T05:59:09Z

Seems that it no longer crashes but still no audio.

audioerror.png

Plasma Arena by red-fan-games 2017-08-05T06:15:49Z

Actually my sound has completely stopped now, it was fine last night before bed because i made a couple of youtube videos but this morning its caput so its probably not a problem on the games end.

Plasma Arena by red-fan-games 2017-08-05T06:49:27Z

Ok so I figured out my sound problem, every time I run the game it completely kills my sound drivers and I have to wipe the game files and reboot to regain sound. :/

Rise Shine Fall by ijona 2017-08-02T17:22:27Z

I love Mongolian throat singing so you got me right away on that one ;) Would have been sweet to have had some nice music in the background. Graphics were very unique, the stylized look was great.

Defend Home: Mars by sgt3v 2017-08-06T05:17:38Z

Cool game, was pretty fun to play. A couple of things that could use improvement - first of all some variety in both enemy types and weapon types would make it a lot more interesting and fun to play around with (but obviously the time constraints of a game jam make this very difficult when you're the only developer :P ) and secondly having some variability to the accuracy of the weapons. I found it really easy because if I just single clicked I would not ever miss. But none the less, a great game for one made in 48 hours - great work!

Signal Lost by SaraJS 2017-08-09T08:09:40Z

Super entertaining, and a very unique game. I found it a bit difficult to find my way back to the ship after going long distances but I guess thats just my terrible surrounding awareness haha :P Excellent job, the audio is super atmospheric too!

A Black Screen by qzqxq 2017-08-13T15:01:27Z

This is a great idea and I loved playing it! I can't believe I actually beat it too :O Kudos on a very good effort! A couple of minor points - Maybe in the maze level implement a door sound at each 'corner' so that it is a bit easier to make a mental map of the maze. This might sound weird, but that was definitely the hardest level and I was thinking some kind of sound to recognize each time I turned a corner or entered a new 'hall' so to speak may have helped me navigate a bit easier. Secondly I think at the end it would have been really cool if the narrators monitor started working finally and maybe had some sort of boot-up screen as the win screen? Awesome job though dude, very creative!

Cyberhell Cleaner by EricQuagmire 2017-08-09T07:05:47Z

Definitely a cool idea for a game! The execution was very good, however I think that the ammo from the shop possibly costs too much. I found myself running out of ammo a lot. Apparently there are pick ups but I didn't see any unfortunately. The shop is a good idea though, the time in between waves could probably be a bit longer as well. Maybe make it so that the break is not timed and the player can start the next wave by pressing a button or something? All in all though a good game!

Power Rush by Mik3 2017-08-06T11:31:29Z

All in all a fun little game. You should find a way to convey the context of the story to the player other than that huge wall of text at the start of the game, people like me don't read that stuff and just get stuck straight into the game :P As a result of my rebellious play style, I had no idea what to do with the crystals haha :P The crystals and crystal ores/nodes should also be made a bit more obvious to the player that they are what the player is after. I also think the players character controller was a bit slide-y. Good idea though, nicely done!

Programmer Energy by sn0uk 2017-08-06T11:52:59Z

Awesome game! Simple idea, yet effective & challenging. Kudos!

Breath by sundr0 2017-08-03T17:56:16Z

This is an incredibly polished game, and I was instantly amazed by the level of quality and the general idea for the game. The only two things I would say is that I think the post-processing effects may be a bit overkill, they look good but they also are a bit much (specifically the bloom). Secondly, I think some of the darker areas should be slightly more lit up while some of the lighter areas could be made a lot darker. I didn't get passed the third key, but I spent about 10 minutes trying to look for it and after that my eyes couldn't take much more of the flashing lights. Wicked game though, I really hope you guys go on to develop this further!

Tomaton by ursagames 2017-08-02T18:46:14Z

This was really fun to play! I was really impressed to see a 3D platformer like this in LD. I just wish so badly there could have been some audio, but never the less still really great fun! I made sure all the villagers were happy, got to the end and then went and killed everyone I could find! :D

Light Source by Valter 2017-08-03T16:07:47Z

Interesting concept, but the controls make it very difficult. I could not figure out for the life of me how to climb up a wall for more than a second. The tone and general atmosphere of the game is pretty solid though.

Everust by boaheck-artgent 2017-08-06T05:46:12Z

This was a really nice game to play. Loved the setting and the graphic style. The audio was good too but it could have been even more immersive if there were a few sound effects. Overall, excellent job!

Rush by Shinmera 2017-08-07T15:05:55Z

The best thing about this game for me is the art style, I loved the art style although the character stood out from everything else a bit because it's not quite in the same style. Not sure what the purpose of the flashlight was really because its super easy to see without it. Elaborate on the current mechanics a bit and refine the art style and I could see this game selling pretty well :)

Erebot by aevek 2017-08-02T17:00:55Z

This was a really pleasant experience! Great art & atmosphere, and I think that the use of the light and shadows is great! Took me a couple of tries to realise that its the solar panels on top of the character that have to stay out of the shadows rather than the character itself but once I realised that it was smooth sailing! Although I did go exploring on the second level, climbed up a hill and then my camera got booted waaaaaaayy off into the distance :P Awesome work man!

ROOP: The Ship in Danger by tomasara413 2017-08-06T11:46:39Z

Very interesting idea, but I the lack of tutorial/instructions makes the game hard. Once the power runs out in the control room its game over as far as I could tell, and that was happening way too quickly. There was a fair bit of double skinning/onion skinning on a lot of the models too so there may have been duplicate models present in the scene. And the addition of audio could really have improved the atmosphere and mood for the game, and if you did like audio tutorials/instructions things would be much easier. Though this game has some real solid concepts!

The Unhuman by wolderado 2017-08-11T07:35:50Z

This game should have a lot more votes, it's awesome! Excellent job mate, the mood of the game was really great and I liked the concept the game explores. I loved the player's UI, that was a really unique and interesting way of telling the story! Really cool that there was multiple endings available as well, this was my first Ludum Dare but I would bet that multiple endings are something that is not very common in these small game jams (even more so for the compo). The lighting was really nice as well, and really helped set the tone. Awesome job, this is one of my LD favourites!

Relentlessly addictive and a whole mess of fun! Amazing game, a few simple mechanics and you have yourself a game that is very hard to walk away from without passing every level! Pretty deceiving as well, the later levels got REALLY hard for me hahaha, excellent work - kudos!

Downpour by LuckyFeathers 2017-08-06T13:58:26Z

Awesome idea for a platformer, I would love to see this developed into more of a game on put on Steam. I could see this becoming one of those 'standout' platformers like Ori, Unravel, etc.

Sunseeker by Surovyi 2017-08-03T17:10:09Z

Nice work! Very impressive for a game jam of any caliber. Overall I think some of the collisions need improvement, and some kind of GUI that made it more clear who you were attacking and gave you the health of your allies and maybe even a game timer might improve the experience. But seriously good work on this, was a lot of fun to play :)

Indiana Stones by Akshay Katare 2017-08-06T13:54:57Z

Quite a fun game, only issue I had was with wood disappearing as soon as it came into the light surrounding the character. So I couldn't keep my fire level up, but the concept of the game is cool!

Deep by tenshi42 2017-08-03T15:48:48Z

I fell through the submarine as soon as I sat down :/ Also can you only steer it one way? I reassigned the movement keys but the submarine would only turn right... Is that like, an actual submarine thing?? O.o Anyway the general concept and ideas behind this game are sweet, wasn't really able to figure out what I was supposed to do but the mood and setting of the game are cool and the idea of commanding a submarine that is running out of power on your own is a wicked idea for a horror game. Nice!

Westwood Hills Hospital by Lawrence 2017-08-02T17:27:44Z

This was a cool little walking sim experience. I was sort of hoping for a jump-scare at the end there :P The best thing about this game for me is the graphic style though, seriously good job with the art and the audio as well!

Drain by morphine 2017-08-03T15:25:28Z

I thought this was a pretty cool concept! I thought that it was a bit dark, and I got lost and couldn't figure out where to go after powering the first 3 beams. But never the less a cool concept!

Adrift by Brendan Engelman 2017-08-02T16:27:34Z

This was quite a tense game, and I was really into the sci fi vibes it gave. The story reminded me of the movie that came out earlier this year called Life which I thought was wicked! A couple of things to consider - For some reason it kept getting flagged by my antivirus (Avast)?? And gameplay wise only a couple of things, I think the player collider should be a lot smaller as I found myself running into doors as I was going back and forth to turn the ventilation on and off; and I also would have loved it if the 'thing' presented a bit more of a threat. Still a great game, I had heaps of fun playing it! Awesome job!

Inverteb by David Allen 2017-08-06T05:23:48Z

This is such a cool game! One of the first impressions I had after 30 seconds into my first run was that this could make a sweet movie :P Amazing style, the graphics and audio are both amazing. I felt like I was participating in some kind of game show or something. Super kudos to you guys!

Nice art & audio, only complaint would be the movement is a bit too slide-y but aside from that was fun. :)

Battery-Powered Business by AlmostCthulhu 2017-08-07T12:46:58Z

Cool concept for a game! I think some of the puzzle timers may have been a bit short, and would have been good to see some kind of UI indicator of how much each building costs. A tutorial would be nice as well, took me a while to understand what I was trying to do. Awesome graphics and nice audio too.

This was a great little experience. The art style I found to be quite unique and very eye catching, and the music was excellent. The overall theme, setting and narrative of the game are also very original and is a fresh take on some things that you see recycled endlessly. Awesome job man, kudos!

The P.U.R.G.E. Protocol by hhsaez 2017-08-03T16:48:02Z

Interesting concept and story idea, but found the gameplay to be a bit bland and the character controller could have been a bit more sensitive to input (faster movement and mouse sensitivity). Audio would have brought a lot more to the atmosphere and mood of the game too.

The Torches Are Burning Low by Didactylos 2017-08-06T05:53:35Z

I found the gameplay to be a bit boring but the general concept and idea behind the game is cool. Nice work none the less!

Light Switch Crusader by TedScottPilgrim 2017-08-09T07:49:00Z

Really great game, although there is a lot of room for improvement I still had a lot of fun playing this and wouldn't give up until I won! Gameplay wise, I think a GUI pop up for whenever you are in range of a light and are able to switch it off. Even if there's just a highlighted border around the light model. Secondly, I initially had no idea that anyone was in the beds. I first got caught in the parents room because I didn't notice the two heads in the bed, and even after that I got caught again in the childs room for the same reason. I did really like the camera movement though, I thought that was really well done, and the sound effects were pretty decent! Nice job!

Wave by logiraffe_shawn 2017-08-03T17:37:46Z

This was graceful, calming, and had a beautiful tone. Awesome job on those assets, I would love to see this evolve into it's own project. It could be up there with Ori if you went hard out on the graphics and audio and expanded on gameplay mechanics. Awesome work!

The Kleptocracy of Rodentia by JemSmith 2017-08-07T14:02:36Z

This is an awesome game, seriously good job on this! The gameplay is fun & addictive, and procedurally generated levels maximise the replayability! The two things I would mention is that it would be good to have the ability to rotate the camera, as I found myself wanting to rotate it and even move it with the mouse cursor to a certain degree - maybe have the ability to look around the map if you are standing still or something? Anyway the other thing is that I noticed the AI tends to group up in one room and a lot of the time they get stuck. Other than that, this is a great game! Kudos to the whole team!

Number Station by maxr00 2017-08-06T11:04:03Z

Incredible game, great use of mechanics. Very entertaining but I thought the puzzles may be a bit hard, I managed to fluke my way to the timed puzzles once but after that could not get that far again despite thinking I already knew the puzzles :P Nicely done!

Lost Soul by daviddiagonza 2017-08-07T16:07:32Z

Interesting concept, but I think the mechanics and everything need refining. Not entirely sure what the win conditions are but I managed to win after 3 seconds into the game O.o Nifty idea with the souls in purgatory having different random mechanics when you control them. Nice!

Power Station by Augusto 2017-08-06T10:23:03Z

Suicide Watch by MrJotubes 2017-08-02T08:56:38Z

A very cool concept, very reminiscent of Mr. Robot for me personally. The gameplay again is a cool concept, but I got very confused by the interface. It took a second playthrough to understand that each program takes times to close, and you may only close one program at once. The first playthrough I was just wildy clicking trying to close everything I could as quickly as I could like I would on a normal PC. I think primarily what is clickable needs to be emphasised. The intro also needs to be skippable, and I think the addition of a small tutorial would make it easier to play. Overall though a really good idea! Excellent work!

LOTS - Legend of the Teleportation Stone by oliverlevay 2017-08-15T14:54:16Z

What a great concept you have come up with here, this could make for a really neat full puzzler game. The throwing and falling sound clips were golden haha, they gave me a good laugh :P Some of the puzzles really had me going as well! Good job man.

AEOS by Yetman 2017-08-06T06:21:11Z

This is absolutely amazing, very reminiscent of the Witness. You have made a gentle and relaxing puzzle game and I love it. The boat mechanics I think are very fluent and make it a lot of fun just to ride around and explore. Some extra sound effects and a bit of gentle music would have been icing on the caking but overall this is one of the gems of this LD! Kudos!

Almost Home by willvasco 2017-08-03T15:32:41Z

Awesome job on the graphics and the music. I found myself wanting to have a bit more control over the ship though, as the controls were a bit floaty. I also found the win/lose conditions to be a bit off as sometimes I would lose as soon as I got to 0% fuel and other times it would just let me float off for ages. I think there should be a set time or something from when you get to 0% fuel until it restarts you so that you have a bit of time to pick up some more if you are floating in the right direction. And finally, I think the hitboxes for the fuel should be a bit larger as there were quite a few times I felt like I should have picked up the fuel but somehow missed it. Still a great concept, and a nice relaxing game to chill with! (Y)

The Greater Good by Hush 2017-08-06T14:24:48Z

Love the graphic style man, and I actually found myself really getting into the story! A bit more refinement on the character mechanics & animations would be the icing on the cake. Good work!

Cities by litill 2017-08-15T15:03:50Z

Wonderful style, and a really creative and original concept and theme. I think it would be a bit easier if there was some kind of clearer visual indicator as to which light post you are currently controlling like a red arrow above or something. I found myself scrambling to get to specific light posts and not knowing where I was at some points while I was playing. And some music would have really set the tone and mood for the game as well, but all in all this is a really great entry! Kudos!

Mage : Arena by mactinite 2017-12-06T16:55:41Z

Awesome game, it's got a really quake-y vibe to it. Love it! SFX and music would have been icing on the cake, but kudos on an otherwise amazing entry!

Chitin Conquest by Zac McDonald 2017-12-06T06:41:21Z

A simple concept, a few bugs here and there. I found the mouse controls to be pretty bad though, I think it's just the movement animation that makes it feel so bad. Aiming with the mouse and shift button also causes clipping at the edges of the map. But kudos on a cool entry.

Temples of Purgatory by Gulyasarni66 2017-12-05T13:10:10Z

This is a great game! Kind of anticlimactic when you reach the end of the game, but it was a challenge. Reminds me of the games I used to play as a really young kid. I think one thing that would have made it even better for me personally, was if there was some footsteps when the player moves. Would have completed the atmosphere. But kudos, great job on a great game!

Rogue Intelligence by Ayxs 2017-12-06T11:24:08Z

So there's a few cool things about this game, but it suffers from some pretty big design flaws. On my first run through I managed to get myself trapped in an area that required the phys gun to leave (I had the energy gun). The puzzles aren't really hard, what makes them hard is that it is not clear at all where your puzzle triggers are. I spent most of my time looking around to try and find platforms, but it was clear what they all did. The energy gun feels pretty much pointless, as it's only used in the first 15 seconds of the game. But the biggest deal for me was the level design and game flow, it does not cater to the player at all. Also it's not clear at all how the theme plays into your game without reading the description of the page, which is probably not so much of a good thing. It feels like movement is just taken from you out of no where otherwise. Good job on the entry, the voice over work and the art was pretty cool. All in all though I think there is a lot that needs to be fixed.

Drgn by UnlikelyNomad 2017-12-06T10:44:27Z

Great game, quite challenging as well! Nailed the graphic and the music, awesome work!

Robotic Sports by TheGamer1123211 2017-12-06T05:38:02Z

I really liked this game, a really simple concept that executes really well. The only improvement I would say you could make is to make it a bit more challenging, the enemy robot didn't hit me a single time in 2 games. Kudos on an amazing entry!

Enter The Labyrinth: 36 Chambers by StudioKraze 2017-12-06T14:48:33Z

Interesting concept for a game! I have to agree with @ehnne that the popping sounds were actually a bit intense in the end although they did add a bit to the atmosphere. And I also agree that an in-game map would be a great addition to this game. Nice entry though! Kudos!

Elden by red-fan-games 2017-12-06T06:55:55Z

Really cool you've made another game like this but it suffers from a lot of the flaws your LD39 entry suffered from. First of all the lighting was really poor, so it was hard to tell where the edges of the levels were. Secondly, starting the game in a narrow hallway with enemies both in front and behind you makes it frustrating to start out because sometimes they'll leap straight onto you before you even have a chance to try and get past them. Thirdly an ammo counter should definitely be included in this game because it's annoying as hell to run out of ammo and have to run all the way back to respawn without being able to shoot - having an ammo counter would allow the player to plan their route back to the ammo cave ahead of time. And fourth there are some random ramps in this level that seem to serve no purpose, as you can't really move up them because them cut your speed right down. The ramps also render from one side only, so there were quite a few times where I got stuck running into something even though it appeared as if nothing was in front of me. And lastly I had the same issue with the sound as I had for your entry in LD39, so the audio wasn't working for me.

But nice job making another game like this, it definitely stands out from the crowd!

Wired Network by Behenate 2017-12-06T09:59:27Z

Awesome work, for real! This is an excellent game, love the shaders and the overall art style. Feels pretty polished but I did experience a few bugs. I love that there is two modes you can play in as well. Kudos!

Infectious Void by Odrez 2017-12-05T15:22:23Z

Really interesting mechanic and your art and audio is great! Bit of a short experience but the polish on it is awesome. Although I did die right next to the health potion at one point, and when I pressed space to respawn I ended up drinking the potion and continuing haha :P Kudos on a great job!

Rot 24/7 by jsqrs 2017-12-06T11:42:09Z

Great idea for a game! The whole style was really really good, nice job on the graphics! After 4 attempts I still wasn't hugely clear on the effects of all the items, but I get the direction you were going for. Kudos!

SNEK by weaselzone 2017-12-06T06:35:07Z

Really cool concept, I actually had a similar idea when I was brainstorming concepts at the start of the jam. You've executed the concept really well, the only issue I had was when the controls get all funky from part of your body getting stuck on a rock. Other than that I think a music track would have added a lot to the mood of the game. But kudos on a great entry none the less!

Go-Ned Re-education by devmax 2017-12-06T10:53:54Z

Hahaha the context of this game is so good :P Actually turned out to be way more challenging than I had anticipated, I didn't manage to beat the game until my third try! Awesome job!

A Week of Chicken by _tiJy 2017-12-05T12:38:11Z

A cool little game, super simple concept. The whole cycle and gradual increase in wolves was a good mechanic to work with, but I found the wolves a little easy to beat. The art style and music you did very well on though. Kudos on a cool game!

Dunkirk the Aftermath by Mac Dragoness 2017-12-06T11:02:27Z

The graphics and audio was great, managed to create a good atmosphere for the game. Unfortunately mechanically I found it to be unintuitive and a bit boring. Namely I am not even sure what the purpose of having a weapon is. Granted I made it straight to the shore without taking a single hit on my first attempt, but when when I tried to load 6 passengers onto my boat I was way heavier than the boat could actually handle and I couldn't move. Somehow I managed to hit the trigger again, thought I might be able to lower the amount of people on my boat but it ended up just adding a bunch more people somehow.

Cool concept for a game, presented really well, and a ww2 thing is quite different than most games entered into Ludum Dare. But mechanically just did not work for me.

Gold Taxi by Code Dream 2017-12-06T09:30:55Z

Nice game! A few thoughts I had, a minimap would be nice or some sort of UI indicator to pinpoint where the drop off point is so that you can plan your route accordingly. Audio would have added a lot more to this game, even if it was just some simple driving sounds and gold pickup sounds (and some music). Some sort of collider on the camera to prevent clipping through the level models as well would be a nice bit of polish.

The only issue I encountered was when I finished the first game and clicked reset, the level would reset and I could still click the reset button but I am pretty sure the timescale was not reset to 1 so I couldn't actually keep playing.

Nice game though, kudos on a job well done!

Lord Covington's Cup by Sarrixx 2017-12-06T05:56:34Z

BOOTY LOOTER! by MrLeePerry 2017-12-06T14:59:10Z

Hahaha this was a crackup of a game! Excellent job! The audio was absolutely hilarious. Game came across as very polished as well. Kudos!

Untouched by Virtual Turtle Studio 2017-12-06T06:03:30Z

This was a nice little experience, and a good concept - I can see where you were planning on going with this. I can't really think of much else this game would need aside from what you have listed at the top of this page. Nice entry!

Subtraum by TheJayDuck 2017-12-06T05:52:21Z

So the concept for this game is really cool, but I think the execution of creating the game could have been done a lot better. The player controls are way too sensitive, both the maximum movement speed and the mouse sensitivity are way too high. You can actually just fly around the map and avoid everything as a result of this.

It also feels weird that the player can walk up straight walls, and the turrets only aiming along 2 axis (so if you're above them they can't hit you). I also feel like there should have been a way to destroy the turrets. Also the pickups are not obvious and can be quite hard to see.

Lastly it's a bit disappointing to see you have used an asset store model without mentioning it on your entry page or opting out of the graphics voting category. A bit of a strange decision if you ask me as well because the zombie model doesn't match the models and art you actually did create.

So all in all, the concept is a good one but the development could have been greatly improved.

Pub Crawler by GiraffeCat 2017-12-06T09:36:39Z

The art and music was great, but I found this game to be a bit lacking and I was expecting a bit more based on the screenshots and description. There should be some sort of lose condition that's based on how much damage you do, how much you anger the locals, or how often you run into walls etc. But not a bad entry, nice job!

Late Night Chef by DosWosh 2017-12-05T15:37:03Z

Interesting game, cool concept. I got stuck on the second level when the customers started asking for meat pattys served on the frypan? Couldn't figure out how to serve it to them. Anyway a nicely polished game, and quite challenging too for such a simple concept. Great execution, good job!

Late Night Chef by DosWosh 2017-12-05T15:40:47Z

@doswosh ahhh I see, and I see you have it in the description at the top. My mistake! But yeah it might be a good idea to make it a bit more obvious. The game is still great though :)

BoatAfloat by StratosKakalis 2017-12-06T05:06:30Z

A nice simple concept, quite relaxing. I feel like the lighting needs some slight changes, seems a bit bright at some angles. And would be cool to see an improved water shader as well. But for what is is, you have done very well. Kudos on a great game!

Shoot and Die by LifeHack 2017-12-06T09:49:06Z

Really cool concept for a game, a bit more polish and a few more mechanics and this would be super solid. I found myself getting addicted to this game, although it was kind of easy. Nice job though!

A really interesting concept and a great first entry for Ludum Dare! Loved the art, music and the mechanics. The levels are very, very hard though. I couldn't make it past the first checkpoint on the first level. All in all, a good entry - kudos!

Google: The Good Boy by Sarrixx 2020-04-21T05:46:58Z

@alex-mulkerrin Thank you for the kind words! The camera effect is done through a noise image effect shader, and the water caustics are textures applied to regular planes with a very gradual (but consistent) offset. The camera effect blends very nicely with the other elements of the scene, it really helped develop the ambient feeling of being underwater.

Great concept, I really appreciated how you had the text boxes in the positions where props around the environment would be - I thought that was clever! :) I encountered a bit of a bug in the final event, where even when I pressed escape the camera would remained locked on the keypad. Luckily I managed to guess the code :P Kudos on a really cool game!

Hahaha this is amazing! As an aquarist, all I can say is I have been waiting for this all my life!

Very, very impressive. The atmosphere you have achieved is really polished despite the game being quite minimalistic. And the procedural narration system has been built really well, you could do some wicked things with this! Kudos on a great job! :D

Haha hilarious narration :P Not sure what the combination of genres is, but it was a cool little experience!

Golfing Dead by FiveCyclops 2018-04-24T18:29:04Z

Awesome idea, once you get a hang of the controls it becomes a lot easier! Would be a great game to be played with a controller. I think some ambient sound would also help set the mood just that slight bit more, some birds chirping in the background, or the sounds of armageddon while your out playing a round of golf xD Kudos on a great game!

Great game, really well done. Just enough horror to creep me out! Kudos.

Great concept man, super challenging and very interesting! There was no audio for me (I played it in Chrome) so I haven't voted on that, but everything else was great!

Fish Fighter by GiovanniBarrottu 2018-04-27T13:28:36Z

Corpo-inc: Escape from the Cyber Scroller by Sarrixx 2018-05-08T08:26:33Z

@Guilb @Paulo Brunassi Yeah I do have an idea for a mechanic where you can look down 45 degrees or so when you press e. Will definitely be something I chuck in when I return to it and make another update :) Thank you so much for the feedback!

Really interesting concept! A bit more development and you could have yourself a very cool game! As it stands right now things are a bit unclear and the UX can definitely be improved and be made a bit more user friendly. It's quite a difficult game the way it is at the moment. Great job on a cool concept though!

Dude this game fucking ROCKS! \m/ Hail Satan!

BoomBall by shrinjoy_fox 2018-04-30T16:16:09Z

Not a bad idea, I found it pretty hard to play though. Would have been better if the mouse sensitivity was adjustable, as I found it quite sluggish. The AI are also pretty difficult, and it's hard to touch the ball for the most part as a result. I also had a feeling that the AI on both teams were shooting at the same goal.

Still, a good idea and nicely done for a weekends work!

Otherworld Influence by Zachery Anderon 2018-04-24T09:09:59Z

Not a bad little game, encountered a few little bugs. My gun would just keeping shooting if I spammed the left mouse button a bit. And I thought it was a bit annoying having to jump up to collect the coins, should have spawned them closer to the ground. I also noticed the music didn't loop.

The art style is cool though :) And I loved the knight death animations! :P

Tall Pines by Lord9000 2018-04-24T09:19:37Z

The art is amazing, and I love the concept you are going for. The execution needs some improvement though, you need to give the player a bit more information regarding how close the killer is. I found myself wanting to turn around or looking for some icon that indicated how many frames away the killer is. Great concept though, love it!
