Tried to play your game on Windows but it won't work. It says "the program can't start because UnityPlayer.dll is missing".
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD40 → Robotic Sports

Oops I'll reupload when i get home
Do you have unity installed? if so, could you try to build it from source? @jaloko
I had the same issue. When you build the project for Windows, there should be a file called UnityPlayer.dll that gets added to the same directory that the executable and the data folder is in. The screenshots look cool, so I'll definitely be back to check it out once you get it up.
Yeah @Bookworm31, I had no idea that i was supposed to include that! It'll definetly be fixed before 8pm cest.
Runs fine on macOS. I couldn't figure out how to shoot at all though - LMB did nothing. RMB put up the shield as expected. Visually great though!
You shoot by holding LMB over a ball, then releasing it to throw. I should have included this in the controls section @rsim
> Certain Bug Fixes are allowed. You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline. You are asked to highlight the changes you make in your submission (a short change log). You probably wont get a 2nd chance with some players, but at least it wont be a problem for future players.
Yeah @s-ed, Thank god for that rule amirite?
@TheGamer1123211 I'll play your game once you fix it :)
Thx @jaloko :D
Really cool and good looking game. Good work! Sadly I was able to win by having all balls on my side, then opponent came close to line where I was able to hit him easily. Had same problem with UnityPlayer.dll, but as a Unity user I was able to place one from any Win32 build there and it worked fine.
Yeah, The AI is kind of glitchy @dusho, didn't really have time to fix some of the bugs with it ( apart from the one where he was invisible :D ), Anyway, hope you enjoyed it!
On Mac it says that the application cannot be opened
@matthias-schedel does it say anything else? do you have a log file that you can share?
Dec 4 10:14:02 XXXXXXXXXXX com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.Company.ProductName.17512[8951])
This is the syslog entry
can you do "chmod 755 (foldername here)" in the console @matthias-schedel, i think it wants executable permission for the folder, though i am not sure ( i think that is the right command, but it may well just be a linux command )
i think the build is fixed now @jaloko @bookworm31, tell me if it doesn't launch
I did it, still the same error. When I want to open it in the console I get: LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /Users/matthiasschedel/Downloads/Robotic Sports - Mac OSX.app.
can you type "ls -l" in the terminal where the app is? @matthias-schedel
Still doesn't work for me on Windows @thegamer1123211. Error says "(0xc000007b)"
try installing this https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/Download/confirmation.aspx?id=14632 @riverpirate, i think you're missing the vc++ 2010 redistributable.
It's very pretty - the new post-processing stack is a godsend, everyone's stuff looks next-level now :)
But the controls handles very badly and really let the whole experience down - I was never sure whether I needed to look down at the ball to pick them up (and it would be better if I didn't have to, or maybe it'd be fine if the controls were tighter). The control scheme wasn't bad - it was kinda intuitive, so kudos on that point.
The design of the game is also a bit off - it's really easy to not be hit by the AI's attacks, and once all their balls end up on your end, well, you can take your time tossing at the opponent. But the deflector's charge time is really a non-issue considering it's virtually impossible to toss balls at any decent rate. Even if this were two players with perfect controls, I think the game design itself needs a more work.
Oh the music. A bit more variation would have been very welcome!
Thanks for the feedback @tuism, this is actually my first time doing Ludum Dare in 3D, and i struggled to put everything that i wanted into the game on time. I also felt the controls were a bit bad and i really wanted to change them, but i didn't really have time to do that. The music was a last-minute decision. I really want to continue work on this game, so any more feedback would be really appreciated!
The build should be completely fixed now @riverpirate, if you want to try it
good graphic style
The game runs now! I found the easiest way to win was to let the enemy throw all the balls onto your side and then it would run to the middle and you could easily hit it. Great graphics the bloom was a nice touch. The audio loop in the background sounded a bit off when it would start again. Also the controls did feel a bit slow and clunky. Regardless solid compo entry.
Awsome graphics with efficient gamplay
Thanks so much @fugu!
Works perfect now @thegamer1123211. As stated before, the controls are a bit confusing. But I love the concept itself, used to love dodgeball when I was a kid  The graphics and colors didn't look like your screenshot but that could be caused my old laptop. Really loved the look of the robots and the animation of the enemy robot falling apart!
I really liked this game, a really simple concept that executes really well. The only improvement I would say you could make is to make it a bit more challenging, the enemy robot didn't hit me a single time in 2 games. Kudos on an amazing entry!
Neat game! The graphics were really nice and I liked the effect when you beat the opposing robot. It was a little bit on the easy side, perhaps multiple opponents could have helped with that? Overall, nice job!
Definitely the best game i've played so far! The graphic design is brilliant, the music is enjoyable, and the gameplay is very fun. I needed a solid 5 minutes to figure out what to do, but after that it was really fun.
The visuals are amazing! Really getting the best out of Unity. The gameplay is also great. Good job! One of the best games I played so far.
The graphics is really good, and the music is intens and also good, but the music loop is a bit short. The gameplay idea is simple and fun, but the robot AI could have been better. Overall a very well made LD game. Well done.
Neat game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecGDWM6QdpE
Robotic sports are not as interesting as going through sports, especially since you can't bet on it and win money. And this is no longer fun and all interest in watching such a sport is lost. It's better to enjoy those days when there is a normal sport, with normal people and make bets. [on Takebet](http://takebet.co.zw) you will be able to find many good bookmakers to place a bet.
I've always been interested in sports, but recently it has taken on a new meaning for me since I started betting on sports at https://rabona.com/hi/. It seems to me that among all the opportunities to make money on the Internet, this is the easiest option that is available to everyone. Moreover, sports betting does not require any special skills, which I especially like.
Pickleball is a fairly well-known sport right now, so it's not surprising that many people have heard of it. Personally, I learned about it through https://infopickleball.com/, and when I did, I was surprised to see such a new sport emerge. It turns out that it wasn't all that long ago. Because it is very cool and you can play it for a very long time without getting tired, I really enjoy this sport.
