Good polish, I liked the camera work and graphics. Gameplay was nice and responsive and the controls were good. Fun game to boot..y. Ok sorry.

theloneplant 2017-12-04 04:37

Nice job, the music sounded a bit odd but I liked the rest of it! Cool effect for the intro and the flips and "hup" sound from the pirate is very entertaining :)

candlesan 2017-12-04 04:48

Dude that was fantastic! Loved the simplicity - really great art. I love the 3D models as well as the water and the title screen. Overall just a fantastic entry.

eriku 2017-12-04 05:29

Agreed with the comment on the graphics. Nice modelling and texturing work.

mrleeperry 2017-12-04 18:31

Thanks so much, all!!! I really had a blast doing this one!

I knew the goofy humor wouldn't be to everyone's taste, but I giggled :)

Now, need to find some time to go review a load of other games!

ham-and-swiss 2017-12-04 18:32

Surprised this doesn't have more attention! Go rate some games dude, this should have more plays. :)

odrez 2017-12-04 18:44

Great use of the theme! This is very fun to play. Please consider adding a Linux and Mac build too.

mrleeperry 2017-12-05 00:43

Yep, was just super busy and haven't had a chance to go play others yet. Will shortly though! Thanks!

Oh, yeah, I'll add a mac build asap.

mrleeperry 2017-12-05 02:39

OK, link to the Mac build. Identical source files and content, just swapped to my MacBook to do the build.

madjackmcmad 2017-12-05 03:30

Simple and fun, impossible not to smile with all the goofy musical pirate action playing. Great work Lee!

primitive-concept 2017-12-05 03:42

Nice polish, and pretty easy to get the hang of. Loved the music and sound effects. Great job!

batmanasb 2017-12-05 03:56

The graphics are simply stunning, I had to check that this wasn't a JAM game.

mrleeperry 2017-12-05 04:18

Thanks!!! Much appreciated!

jk5000 2017-12-05 10:00

A super fun little game. Music, graphics and idea is all good. Super well done.

bar0net 2017-12-05 14:03

I will be mumbling that shanty for the rest of the day!!! The game is really fun and the graphics are fantastic. Loved that water effect!

mrleeperry 2017-12-05 17:19

So, the water is just 3 separate disc meshes, each a little lower than the next... big round subdivided sheets, with some jitter on it, then smoothed... and they all spin slowly in different directions. I only got to the water in the last HOUR of work, and nearly panicked at how to pull it off easily.

Then I made like 2 big scattered debris meshes with a solid dark color on them, a shark and hammerhead, and just attached them to the lower most disk. The motion of the sharks is TOTALLY nonsensical, hahahhaa, like they're caught in some ridiculous underwater vortex or something.

spacemonkey 2017-12-05 19:33

What refreshing game ! Simple and efficient. The sounds made me smile and I even yarrr'd myself. Amazing that you could pull this off in 48h. Hats off

josefnpat 2017-12-05 20:34

Oh god, this was fantastic. The song was brilliantly written (even if it was improv!), the little sfx were great, and the gameplay was solid! This is really a fantastic entry! You should be super proud of this one, really great job!

jons-games 2017-12-05 21:21

Nicely polished game, quite fun. Not sure I got a sense of it getting harder the more you carried though.

deatrathias 2017-12-05 21:25

Pretty good. Graphics are nice, gameplay is fun, and audio is funny. My one complaint is that the camera rotation makes it sometimes difficult to figure out which direction you should press. Also at one point I had no way to jump on the next board and was forced to sink.

wheffle 2017-12-05 23:26

Ah, so good! The idea is so simple but you pulled it off with flying colors. The animation was all super smooth, the controls intuitive, and the audio... oh, the audio. #1 for audio in my opinion. Super glad I played this.

sarrixx 2017-12-06 14:59

Hahaha this was a crackup of a game! Excellent job! The audio was absolutely hilarious. Game came across as very polished as well. Kudos!

togis 2017-12-06 17:43

I uploaded my gameplay of this game on youtube, you can find it here

Thanks for being part of the stream :)

(edited to correct video, sorry)

mrleeperry 2017-12-06 19:10

Doh! Seems to be the wrong game in that vid?

togis 2017-12-06 20:49

@MrLeePerry Sorry about that, I edited it back to the correct one (the thumbnail may seems wrong until the cache of youtube or our browser are refreshed though)

drzanuff 2017-12-06 21:27

One of the best games i played. Music is great and catchy. Very tight controls. I really liked the effect of the moving planks, floating and sinking, my record is 14!

decipator 2017-12-14 17:53

This game was really fun to play, the overall is pretty good for a one man job! Just the music was a bit annoying at some point, but help on making the player stressed in a clever way. Nice one!

moski 2017-12-14 17:56

And it just kept piling on and on and on...

BootyLooter_2017-12-14_12-51-08.png

Very tight controls, appealing visuals and funny sounds, this is a fantastic compo entry. Looks incredibly dynamic because of the camera movements and how the floating woods comes and goes. The game is very fast paced, easy to understand, and overall, a great joy to play. I did experience a bit of motion sickness, but that's besides the point.

My one complaint is that, at times, the camera movements were a bit too extreme, which at times rotated the field almost 90 degrees. So, for moments, I thought that the controllers were also going to be remapped in a clockwise or counterclockwise fashion. It was never the case, but my mind was kind of wired and prepared for that. Lost a few times because of that.

Still, a great compo entry. Congratulations. [My team and I](twitter.com/whalesandgames) are looking forward to playing more of your entries in the future. Cheers, matey! :whale:

yodog 2017-12-14 18:08

Really fun! Loved the look and has a super smooth gameplay. At first, I hated the music, but then I kept playing and it started to grow on me, then I loved it so much. Nice work!

roxter08 2017-12-14 22:44

Love the graphics !

robert-newman 2017-12-15 15:49

Love the idea of this game, we did something similar with the stacking of the items collected with people saved by hero, but i think yours actually looks cooler by not being able to see the character

The planks moving and sinking worked great. really enjoyed playing this game. Great work

enot487 2017-12-15 17:28

Simple, but fun and very exciting game! One-legged, one-eyed, armless pirate and dashing song create a unique atmosphere. Well done!

hisfantor 2017-12-16 18:03

the sound is awesome, sets a very "feel good" mood. Also I actually really like the fonts that you used/created, don't see many game that think that through

killthealias 2017-12-16 20:46

Good job with making the act of moving the pirate around fun to do. The audio was well done and added nicely to it. Fun little game ^_^

mrleeperry 2017-12-23 21:00

Hahha, thanks all! Glad people seem to dig it!
