LD29 — Beneath the Surface

our god lives underground by Andrew Shouldice 2014-05-03T04:33:00

Love the environment! Great construction and style of course... just really well done. Nice nice work!

unTouchable by Ekanaut 2014-04-29T20:31:00

Good stuff, Eka! Love the clean visuals and the little dude, lots of character and style!

SUNK by GeorgeBroussard 2014-04-29T21:14:00

After playing about 5 times I got to ~400 and figured I could have kept it going a long long time. But the first handful of plays I was ridiculously stressed (in a great way). LOVE the theme use, and the situation I've never really seen handled like that in a game beyond a simple "breath bar" that some games use as a side feature. Really cool. Thanks for all the tech help/advice through the weekend too!

It Came from Beneath the Surface: Wormgun by BoneDaddy 2014-05-04T23:33:00

Fun stuff, really enjoyed the general feel of the game. Never QUITE understood the mechanics enough to control it precisely, but that didn't really wreck it... I still had a good time with it. Nice stuff!

Bombcano by bentog 2014-05-03T04:14:00

Super challenging to control I'm afraid. I liked the direction though, and really wanted to like it.

Tenkosei ROBO by radmars 2014-04-29T22:41:00

Hahahha, that's quite a bizarre setup for a game. Love it :)

Under Google by mustaine 2014-05-08T03:44:00

Hahahha! Simply awesome. Too funny :) You're an inspiration!

Walking on thin ice... by Jacqueslelezard 2014-04-30T18:26:00

Haha, I love a game where you can literally try to jump the shark. This is awesome, love the general theme and gameplay of jumping around on sinking chunks of ice. Well done!

Deep Descent by sirdorius 2014-05-03T04:08:00

Great visuals and style, and really love the circular environment. Wish the shooting was faster/more responsive and I wasn't sure if there was a goal. I got to the lower level and thought that was a great mechanic. Really slick though!

In the Black by HybridMind 2014-05-04T23:38:00

That was fun, even as simple as it was, I dug it. (har har)

Beneath Wireframe by Manuel Magalhães 2014-04-30T18:14:00

Very fun, seems like the foundation of an iOS classic waiting to happen.

Loose by Once Upon a Team 2014-05-03T04:39:00

Very chill setting and gameplay, I really dug it. Something very OCD about it. Great work and use of a dynamic mesh like that!

Hunger Pains by apuhl 2014-04-29T21:00:00

62! RRWAR!!! Fun stuff. I loved the "blood cubes" hahahha, so cool. Felt awesome how everything was piling up, reminding me of World War Z (movie) zombie piles.

Badrock Machine by MrLeePerry 2014-04-28T19:48:00

Thanks all, yeah the crash stabs at my soul... And I've only been coding for a month so I'm very poorly equipped to search it out easily. Will try to have a friend come by sometime and see if it's as simple as a flag set incorrectly somewhere and could qualify under the "typo repair rules" for a late change/update to a submitted game.

Badrock Machine by MrLeePerry 2014-04-29T15:50:00

HEY ALL! I fixed the crash bug about a minute in. Typo rule in effect! It should play indefinitely now, so... woot!

Badrock Machine by MrLeePerry 2014-04-29T20:24:00

It was, undoubtedly too ambitious, haha. Noob error #1, right? Half the game twice as polished would probably present WAY better. BUT, I had a reeeeeally good time creating it, learned a metric buttload about coding a project, and got my first gamejam experience.

Badrock Machine by MrLeePerry 2014-05-06T01:50:00

Absolutely agree with your comments, zero offense taken :) Just didn't have enough time for a balancing pass really at all. Major scope lesson learned!

Beneath the Surface... Adventure by Laralyn 2014-04-29T20:56:00

Whew! Would have been tough to come up with puzzles for that on such a timeline, kudos for tackling that. Super glad the central tower was there for orientation. Neat stuff!

No Eyes Willy by blockbot 2014-04-30T18:01:00

Great stuff!!! Love the mechanics and theme.

The Mole Hole by Sylvain Dubrofsky 2014-04-29T20:44:00

Worked for me! Dig it! That hammer up there is so imposing, it's surprisingly stressful (in a great way) and a great fit for the theme.

Woodcutter's Folly by Troy 2014-05-03T03:29:00

Good stuff, was compelled to keep at it after dying quite a bit on some screens. Enjoyed it!

Beneath The Surface by adamwoolridge 2014-05-03T03:59:00

Fun, simple, oddly addictive.

VR Mowing Hero 2014 by garbagetrucks 2014-04-29T20:34:00

Hahaha, nice! Totally satisfies that OCD thing you only get from mowing a lawn. Love it, great theme and scope! I really need to learn from your example next time.

Sandworm Rampage by bchan 2014-04-29T21:04:00

Dig it... I always LOVE a game that operates of different levels like that, with submarine type "leaving" of one plane of play. That was really really cool. I could see that as a prototype for a full game easily. Reaaaally nice!!!

Sandworm Rampage by bchan 2014-04-29T21:04:00

Also, can't really do more for the theme than that was!

Duo Descent by DJWizardCop 2014-05-04T23:23:00

One of my favs of the competition! Excellent work! Lots of great little mechanics to explore, I could totally see it becoming a full game. Great work!

Cave Harrier by madjackmcmad 2014-04-29T20:39:00

Awesome! Love the classic vibe. Can't believe you got multiple stages and bosses in in the timeframe! Was playing with arrowkeys and space, need to come back with a keypad. Great job though!

Basement by Halfbus 2014-05-03T04:26:00

It's not a huge deal, and I'm not a foagie, but I admit the clear drug naming of the modules struck me as a bit adolescent. *BUT* I really dug the game, it's not like it ruined it :) I was blown away with the first impression of the artwork BTW and intro moment. Very very well done.

FishCopter by minism 2014-04-30T18:36:00

hha! That's fun. OMG bumping a column is BRUTAL... was on a good run when I found that out :) Feels like a classic game that never was. Excellent work!

Bunker 29 by Rose 2014-04-30T17:51:00

Oh man! AAALmost made it that last time. Good stuff, love the general vibe and mechanics. Excellent!

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Behind the Data by Laralyn 2014-08-31T20:09:00

This is really excellent. The intro text totally works for setting the mood and making it feel like more than the sum of its parts. Really really cool!

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

iJ by Sakuyan 2014-12-09T04:05:00

Super ambitious, got a lot done! love the art, the UI work, etc... good job!

Cell #327 by Aurel Bílý 2014-12-09T05:08:00

Wow, very well done! I admit a dislike of puzzly elements to adventure games, so it's not my bag, but it was cool to see executed like this.

Quintuple Dimension Room by Recursiveanomaly 2014-12-09T03:25:00

THUMBS UP! I admit I didn't complete it, but I dug running around in there and thinking through how it was going to work. Very cool use of the theme as well, getting multiple uses of the same screen estate.

Pocket Contra Force by nodoxi 2014-12-09T02:46:00

Woah! How am I the first person to play this? It's EXCELLENT man, I really really dug it. Great feel, love the reveal of each level... played all the way through just to see each new basement area. Really impressive for the time given!!!

Go rate a bunch of other games, at least 20, and far more people will see your game as its "coolness" rating goes higher.

Swords and Hammers by nicotuason 2014-12-09T04:21:00

I reeeeally enjoyed this. It was simple and elegant, just really slick. My one issue was kind of that once a castle is built, it seemed really hard to take it back... seemed like the map got static pretty quick with emplaced strong positions. But still, very very nice work :)

Perfect Squad by Deity 2014-12-09T05:02:00

WOAH! FREAKIN EXCELLENT GAME! Super ambitious, and really well done! I love this. Highest ratings I've given a game so far.

My Wife is a Screen by theholychicken 2014-12-09T03:56:00

Haha, super bizarre, but the name made me check it out and I dug it :) Nice work.

Mini Minotaur by ljdp 2014-12-09T02:28:00

Really great! Neat concept and well executed. Nice work!

DebugIt(); by Recon 2014-12-09T04:13:00

haha, took a sec to figure out the flow, but man, what a trippy intriguing ride :) Tre' cool.

Pixplorer by Nega Drive 2014-12-09T04:55:00

Excellent work! Have to admit the jumping physics were pretty infuriating, but the world and fog of war effects and variation as I uncovered the background was really really well done. Congrats!

Survive On One Screen by mtanton 2014-12-09T02:34:00

I had some problems with the lag when near the enemies, but good attitude on sticking it through and making something! That's the ticket!

Beat Zombie VR by Ekanaut 2014-12-09T17:47:00

Yawn! Yet *another* zombie night club vr music fighting game? :) Hahaha, this is ridiculously well done, congrats to your whole group!!!

Emporium of Death and Laughter by talecrafter 2014-12-09T02:56:00

I liked it! The way the world changed between rounds was pretty excellent and rewarding, it had nice pacing based on that. I too wished the crosshair was more visible, but for a jam it was excellent. Good job.

Penguin Savior by Samuel Arminana 2014-12-09T04:48:00

Hahha, took about 4 tries to realize the gag. Well done :)

Culture Screen by gltovar 2014-12-09T04:32:00

I can't say enough how much I love the pure intuitive nature of how you can tell visually what a character wants. That's so cool. Short of a little "thought bubble" over someone's head, this was a really great way to convey that info in a new way. Love it.

Parable of the Broken Window by Akurn 2014-12-09T04:59:00

Oh man, well done! Love the resizing window dynamic for the level. Cool!

Mobile Life by tonypai 2014-12-09T03:49:00

Pretty cool... pretty cool. Like the whole vibe, the music, the swiping and home... just a really neat little moment. Thanks for that.

The Shelter by Alter 2014-12-09T03:16:00

HA! I really like how you have to conserve ammo to the point that you're making choices about who to save. Making quick prioritization decisions made it really compelling. Nice work!!! You should be proud :)

Summoned by jelly 2014-12-09T03:05:00

Nice! I wish the controls didn't require me to move on diagonals, it makes jumping awkward, but overall it was a neat little setting. Good job!

Sheep enchanter by jsmtux 2014-12-09T03:31:00

Hahha! The theme is hilarious. Well done :)

Life of a Geek by Tommyno222 2014-12-09T03:39:00

REALLY compelling. Something about the snug little apartment on one screen drew me in. Nice art and humor especially!

V for Vectory: Maximum Overquill Edition by quill18 2014-12-09T03:12:00

Haha, I got my ass beat, but you did a great job with the game. I dug the visuals and vibe.

Pengie by GeorgeBroussard 2014-12-09T17:44:00

Love the idea of multi-hitting health bar the hulks, that'd make for a great variant. Love the feedback of screenshakes and such. Super fun.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Blue Helmet Beatdown by madjackmcmad 2015-08-25T05:24:00

Nice work! I ended up at near 600K points and wave 15. For the last few levels I was just holding the space bar, but overall I had a lot of fun with it. The text was hilarious BTW. "No-bid overpriced swoopy jet incoming", haha... So good.

Chompy by GeorgeBroussard 2015-08-24T19:22:00

Oh man, this was a hoot, George! Played all the way through. It ended up being a solid but playable challenge and I enjoyed it!

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

A Walk To The Finish Line by jk5000 2017-12-05T04:16:57Z

Woah! SUPER well done! Love the game mechanic in general. I'm so impressed that for a jam like this you had time to make the puzzles so well done and clever. Such a daunting daunting task! Love it!

BaconMan by josefnpat 2017-12-05T19:45:59Z

HAHAHHA! This totally busted me up! The control scheme was comic genius, as was the sounds. Love it. LOOOOVE IT.

What is Art: Things that can be Stolen by drzanuff 2017-12-05T03:28:48Z

Nice work, really great use of the theme. In retrospect, stealing things and dealing with the issues of having more at once was something I should have tried, it only occurred to me about 2/3rds into the compo, haha.

Maurim: Unepic thief by bakudas 2017-12-05T19:53:44Z

Really nice!!! Turned out super polished. Loved all the menu and HUD work, consistent style, design of the areas, theme... just all came together really well. The music was slick too.

Bearhalla by madjackmcmad 2017-12-05T04:00:04Z

Hahaha, too cool. Although I never quite figured out the effective use of the bear "ROAR!", the animation for that alone busted me up. I had a legit good time playing this! On my Xbox style controller the fire button wasn't the trigger, but X button, so using both sticks and that random input for firing was rough... but I got used to it quickly!

Boat&Friends by averagebrownie 2017-12-05T20:06:33Z

Super props for making something physics based. That's like kryptonite for short time periods, it seems.

Nice audio and splashy effects as crates interact with the water :)

MOAR ENGINES by batmanasb 2017-12-05T03:45:40Z

BAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!! Man that was funny... as a fellow member of the "make stupid noises for sounds" club, I heartily enjoyed that.

The control scheme was really intuitive and it really NAILED the theme. I found myself playing it "just one more" over and over again. So good. Well done!

Infectious Void by Odrez 2017-12-05T04:05:36Z

That was really slick! The different swirly effects and overall style was well done. I really dug that.

Tony Hawk's Hatchback Stunt Simulator: Ghost Protocol by Eli Delventhal 2017-12-05T20:00:52Z

This game is SOOOO dumb. So dumb.

I love it :) I was laughing out loud before hitting play, from the title alone.

Barreus by bar0net 2017-12-05T02:49:02Z

Nice work, the menus and UI stuff I know must have been a real time sinker. But it turned out great. Grats!

Nano Life by primitive-concept 2017-12-05T03:35:42Z

Lots of cool stuff there. I'm a sucker for the "petri dish playspace" thing, especially the blurring focus thing. Early on I was pretty confused, I admit... and if I could change one thing I'd make the forceps change art to a "closed" version when holding the button, so I knew it was doing something (some original confusion was from that)... *BUT* overall after figuring that out, I really like it. Good stuff!!! Hat's off!

Lights Out! by rubr 2017-12-05T21:15:29Z

Some good ideas and nice level design. Wall jumpy stuff was definitely finicky... but overall really enjoyed it. Love the simple little movement animation, haha.

Lord Covington's Cup by Sarrixx 2017-12-06T19:32:49Z

Hahahha, I'm now quite comfortable with my role in life as a "sabagoose". :) Funny stuff, the voice was busting me up :)

BOOTY LOOTER! by MrLeePerry 2017-12-04T18:31:07Z

Thanks so much, all!!! I really had a blast doing this one!

I knew the goofy humor wouldn't be to everyone's taste, but I giggled :)

Now, need to find some time to go review a load of other games!

BOOTY LOOTER! by MrLeePerry 2017-12-05T00:43:59Z

Yep, was just super busy and haven't had a chance to go play others yet. Will shortly though! Thanks!

Oh, yeah, I'll add a mac build asap.

BOOTY LOOTER! by MrLeePerry 2017-12-05T02:39:02Z

OK, link to the Mac build. Identical source files and content, just swapped to my MacBook to do the build.

BOOTY LOOTER! by MrLeePerry 2017-12-05T04:18:08Z

Thanks!!! Much appreciated!

BOOTY LOOTER! by MrLeePerry 2017-12-05T17:19:20Z

So, the water is just 3 separate disc meshes, each a little lower than the next... big round subdivided sheets, with some jitter on it, then smoothed... and they all spin slowly in different directions. I only got to the water in the last HOUR of work, and nearly panicked at how to pull it off easily.

Then I made like 2 big scattered debris meshes with a solid dark color on them, a shark and hammerhead, and just attached them to the lower most disk. The motion of the sharks is TOTALLY nonsensical, hahahhaa, like they're caught in some ridiculous underwater vortex or something.

BOOTY LOOTER! by MrLeePerry 2017-12-06T19:10:44Z

Doh! Seems to be the wrong game in that vid?

BOOTY LOOTER! by MrLeePerry 2017-12-23T21:00:36Z

Hahha, thanks all! Glad people seem to dig it!

RQ5: backup-dancer rampage! by Adrien Dittrick 2017-12-05T21:17:55Z

Really slick concept for puzzle based gameplay. Definitely works for the theme really well, and super massive kudos for creating a puzzle game on a time limit like this. That's serious pressure ;)

404: Space Not Found by Tom Schneider 2017-12-05T20:52:40Z

Haha, I'm so lost with this one. BUT MAN!!! I *REALLY* love the aesthetic of it. So perfectly retro-lovely. The setting, the critters talking, the hex based stuff. Love it.

Fortress Escape by SpaceMonkey 2017-12-05T03:18:22Z

Good stuff, nice work pulling it all together!

Bobby's awful idea by Drakncel 2017-12-05T20:31:06Z

Fantastic stuff! Love the visuals, the random characters, theme, the general scenario is awesome... it all really came together.

I wasn't quite sure if I was supposed to react to EVERY thing over someone's head? Like, the smiley face, etc...

The people "doing it" just killed me, ahhaha.

Lil' Justin's Fame Escape by spierek 2017-12-05T03:12:07Z

HA! Fun stuff! I'm dumb enough that it took me two playthroughs to realize the star position was the direction of the next venue... once that clicked I blew through a lot of them.

Great use of theme and humor :)

Smack`Em! by mess110 2017-12-05T02:54:57Z

Nice work!!! Love the audio so much :)

LOCOPLAYA by goxua 2017-12-05T19:49:27Z

Nice work! Loved the character model and setting, and the dash felt really good. Wish I had people on hand to try MP with :)

Crazy Trucker by Matthew Foley 2017-12-05T20:49:50Z

Good stuff! I really like how you have to back into the crates, well done. I tried always driving in reverse, and flipped the truck, haha.

Gophergeddon by Ham and Swiss 2017-12-05T04:10:52Z

HAH! This was awesome, REALLY well done :) Love the theme use so much, and the whole thing was clever and witty and humorous. Nice stuff :)

Meowtosis by mynameismow 2017-12-05T02:52:26Z

Hey, tried the link to the Mac build and get a "no file" error I'm afraid. Might check that link and update it? Cheers!

MORE BLOOD by generalvivi 2017-12-05T21:25:39Z

Really nice work! It totally ended up as "gory splatoon", which is such a great general idea for a game.

The super over the top UI elements still bust me up. Aaaaaaaall the subtlety :)

Rogue-Light by SilvervaleGames 2017-12-05T03:50:34Z

Man, that seems like a lot of work went into that. Well done!!! I'm a sucker for a good rogue-like :)

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Sacrilicious by garethiw 2018-12-07T22:34:45Z

JUST BRILLIANT!!! Funniest thing I've played, best audio, SPOT on the theme... just a total slow clap all around!

An Adventure within a Deep Forest by BoltKey 2018-12-07T23:08:57Z

Awesome! Loved all the polish such as the expanding UI instructions and such. Really cool. I'm always in awe of jam games that have puzzles to create while they're being made, that must be such a pain. Well done!

Vessel by nopogo 2018-12-07T22:17:16Z

Really great feel to the game, clean and crisp. Had a similar thing like Jay where I did a ton of things and didn't know what else to do... but overally a really great effort, congrats to all involved :)

Sacrifical Flight by zgragselus 2018-12-07T23:24:29Z

Interesting stuff, good decision making to be had. The slow pacing kind of helps as it's not immediately obvious what the effects are of your actions.

Volcano Rush! by jharler 2018-12-07T22:38:13Z

Really well done. I died SO often from the bouncing lava balls... but still was really well executed. Cheers!

Anno Luciferus by madjackmcmad 2018-12-07T21:56:43Z

Hey, great job, Jim!!! The character feels really powerful, especially throwing the hammer around and all manner of enemies being trashed by it. Well done as always!

Let's War! by SethR 2018-12-07T22:51:32Z

This was awesome! Super retro vibe, some fun decision making, music was awesome... very unique. Well done, all around!!!

Bla v Raa : Eternal God Battle Brothers by ragtagradical 2018-12-07T23:31:54Z

Super visceral feeling when you're bouncing all over the place! Fun little setting.

BulletHealth by Rugbug_Redfern 2018-12-07T22:47:57Z

Hey! That is really cool, a great little gameplay twist and some neat polish to boot. Felt good while playing it, which is all we can really ask, right? :)

Clucked Up! by MrLeePerry 2018-12-04T03:53:38Z

Thanks for all the comments!!!

Heads up that I had to leave on a 4 day trip right after submitting, so I haven't had a chance to play other games yet, but I will asap!

Clucked Up! by MrLeePerry 2018-12-08T17:56:35Z

Awwww thanks so much for the praise, all!!! This Jam really feel into place quickly... not the usual, haha

Clucked Up! by MrLeePerry 2019-01-31T14:29:20Z

Had an issue with the MAC build but fixed it (I think)

Dev Jam by Fahrenheit459 2018-12-07T22:10:12Z

I love a good metaphor for game creation, haha. Some neat art/visuals as well. Really well done, congrats to the team!

Space Hopper by Tom Robson 2018-12-07T23:28:17Z

Love how this came together, really well done. Playing with physics is always a plus in itself, but the art and setting elevated it even more. Good stuff!

Mudul's Trial by Kanacell 2018-12-07T21:46:18Z

Nice work! Took a second to figure out the weapon swapping, but once that was sorted out I was off and running. Really well done!!!

GOATWRATH by Fat cat 2018-12-07T22:29:19Z

Hey! Had a good time with that, really solid stuff :) Great feel to the world.

Floofs by kaeveris 2018-12-07T22:01:38Z

Good stuff, keep it up and keep coming back for more jams :)

Dark Villagers by AwiX 2018-12-07T21:25:28Z

Great stuff! Really well presented, great critters :D

LD43 Journey by WegPast 2018-12-07T23:20:14Z

Holy crap... you all really went all out with this one! Really ambitious for a game jam, but you all pulled it off. Well done!

Our first game, Hatty & Tom. by emeffe 2018-12-07T21:40:10Z

Had some issues sorting out controls initially... but really well done!

Can't save them all! by lilou_cormic 2018-12-07T22:44:38Z

Neat stuff, interesting mechanics! Definitely a great use of theme and well executed :)

Expendibots by pandan 2018-12-07T23:03:44Z

Oh hey! Nice work! I did the Clucked Up chicken wrangling game where you controlled a herd of the same critter as well. It's cool to see other takes on that. I dug this. After I realized the mouse was active and I could use it to help with controls, and also using other surfaces to align my robots, I really got into it. Bravo!

sacrifice must be done by anfaas1618 2018-12-07T22:40:18Z

Hey, nice work. Good idea to have many game options in a single download like that. Well done.

Eskate Death by DougDevs 2018-12-07T22:55:49Z

HAHAHAH! Died laughing while playing this. Talk about nailing the theme! Had a lot of fun, even as simple as the controls were I was pretty fixated on it. Bravo!

Die or Die (or not, whatever) by samaranin 2018-12-07T23:15:37Z

I super love the bouncy little animations :) Well done.

Rift Core by chaosed0 2018-12-07T23:42:51Z

Wow! Super ambitious! Really bold and pulled off well, congrats to all involved. I really loved the visuals for the mechs actually... kinda want little toys of them now! :)

The Messenger Assist by graebor 2020-04-26T16:12:59Z

Wow, intense and interesting stuff! I like the kind of possibility space this setting allows, lots of simple actions creating neat little moments. Really cool. Art is awesome, sound turned out great, love it!

Efi by ludipe 2020-04-25T05:36:59Z

Love it, I could see playing this religiously on a mobile device, haha. Clever design work!

Keeper of the Flame by nickavv 2020-04-26T16:20:40Z

Wow, this turned out great. Love the retro art style, very well executed. The animation of lighting the torch is a rewarding payoff. Just all kinds of great little polish, like the UI, etc... Awesome.

Keep It Alive by danman9914 2020-04-21T20:17:00Z

Suuuuper slick! Nice art, smart use of assets and theme, good writing, amazing sound... just solid all the way around. I wasn't quite sure what the heart on the left was doing, at one point it died but the game kept going? But, really cool stuff, well done!!!

jumpgolf by torcado 2020-04-25T04:52:16Z

HA! Man this turned out really fun! So many interesting moments where you're in a golfy mindset, but actually dexterity and twitch skills pull you through, which is an amazing change. Loved it so much, very very nice work!

DUNDER by nuclearfriend 2020-04-25T03:59:58Z

Man, that was super ambitious, and well executed. Awesome work all around!

Substitute DJ by jayprog 2020-04-25T04:12:29Z

Man, ship that puppy, hahahaha. Great theme, vibe, just the whole package really came together. Bad ass.

ADRENA-LINE by managore 2020-04-21T20:34:26Z

Super super slick!!!

Last Hope by Iluvatar 2020-04-21T20:44:48Z

Man, stunning art and visual direction to be sure. Awesome!

Age of Aquaria by mahalis 2020-04-22T04:10:04Z

Fuuuun! Really love the art style and general design. Great balance of style, humor, and art... nice work!

Untitled Plant Game by ponywolf 2020-04-25T05:09:14Z

Man, what an amazing love letter to classic graphics... really nailed the whole vibe. Loved the NPCs dialogue and general silliness!

Dog's Best Friend by MattWoelk 2020-04-25T04:17:25Z

Honestly, out of some 6 ludum dares I've participated in, I think this might be my favorite project. I'm a dog fan, so maybe I'm biased, but this is one of the most touching games I might have played, much less for an LD entry.

I really loved this. Seriously great work.

Morphology by Shess 2020-04-26T16:29:34Z

Very strange and interesting, kinda loved it! Took me a little bit to figure out what was going on, but I really loved the whole overall vibe. Great art! Good stuff overall.

Tiny Fragments by Daniel Moreno 2020-04-25T04:45:34Z

We've seen this sort of "move bits of the world around" gameplay before, but this is done exceptionally well, clever puzzles, and generally slick execution that it's really out of the ball park for a Ludum Dare game. Really great.

No Fish To Die by dillonbecker 2020-04-21T21:03:55Z

Way slick... I'm always so blown away by people who are able to make games with puzzles involved in such a tight timespan. Awesome.

Desktop Garden by 0x0 2020-04-25T05:12:37Z

HAHA!!! Super fun! Was really neat to see that design concept executed so well!

Keep the light alive by MaximBegunov 2020-04-21T21:38:27Z

Very cool stuff... as I mentioned on someone else's game I'm always amazed when people make short game jam games that have puzzles in them!

Embers by Anuke 2020-04-25T04:05:14Z

Wow, crazy to see such scope in an LD game, but you pulled off so much of it. Awesome to see. I had some challenges with working out crafting, but overall it was really impressive.

The Seeker by GeorgeBroussard 2020-04-21T17:24:17Z

Awesome work, as always George! Once I realized the raindrops were individual things to be avoided, I had a LOT of fun with it. Really damn cool. Great mood, great use of the theme.

Dragon Drop by Roelosaurus 2020-04-21T18:27:41Z

Very cool. Great art especially. Took me a long time to figure out that you drag the specific potion art onto the dragons to apply them. But, once I got that down, it went smoothly. I can see how this would escalate in difficulty well.

MR BUZZ'S FANCY-ASS PICNIC by MrLeePerry 2020-04-21T20:46:29Z

Thanks so much for the comments all. Mostly I'm sorry the time ran out before I worked in a really satisfying "SMACK!" sound effect and some sort of "DEAD!" alert to sell that moment... but I was pretty happy with the result.

MR BUZZ'S FANCY-ASS PICNIC by MrLeePerry 2020-04-25T05:20:46Z

Thanks Space Wiz!

If I had to make it more involved, I'd probably try things like giving you fixed "phases" of a specific time to survive in, so it's a taste of victory often. Then maybe upgrades for performance? Different levels having different ratios of food, some food having a smaller limited lifespan, etc... so just "make food more interesting".Also perhaps sticky areas that have food in them, but make you slow down a bit.

Also, I'd consider attempting to make eating a function of rapid clicks, so it's more baseline interactive and you might feel more tense if you're actively doing something while being nervous about the next attack.

Just brain dumping though... Mostly I try to make game jam games easily digestible and quick. I know so many people have such short attention spans, haha. :)

MR BUZZ'S FANCY-ASS PICNIC by MrLeePerry 2020-04-26T16:19:35Z

Thanks for the feedback, all! Glad you liked it!

LD46_Charger by Talia 2020-04-25T05:05:57Z

WOAH, just excellent! Loved this so much... the music in particular synced so well with the art style to create a really unique environment. Also using the phone as the key object in the game was hilarious. Well done!

Civilitris by dasilvacontin 2020-04-25T05:46:45Z

This turned out really really well, especially for the time involved! I love the simple art style and general vibe of it. Nice work!

Soulbound by Fenderbate 2020-04-21T18:09:04Z

Great stuff, man! Very cool art, and neat vibe, for sure. Good luck!

Ark Survive by Pusheeneiro 2020-04-21T19:45:34Z

Hahaha, this was as funny as it was brutal. Great production values, writing, etc... well done!!

Remember, Apollo by AdamCYounis 2020-04-21T20:55:47Z

This was simply bad ass. I loved it. Clever and artistic, easy to pick up, full of interesting little moments. Just awesome, really well done.

Tumbleweed by Brenan 2020-04-25T05:24:53Z

Puuuuuurty! Amazing work, especially given the time limits. Well done!

Box Of Limes by RedDashGames 2020-04-25T05:33:17Z

Holy cow... ship that! Really top notch stuff!!!

BEATSMITH by Patsui 2020-04-21T18:41:38Z

Had a lot of fun with this, although man, the challenge was crazy on the dipping/cooling level with figuring out what to do. I ended up having to play on easy mode after flailing at it for several attempts not understanding how the beats were intended to work.

The art was way cool, very stylish, and the general vibe was excellent. Really great stuff!

Deep Root by Fever Dream Johnny 2020-04-21T20:00:56Z

Man, some really slick polish elements in there! The audio in particular was excellent, and I tip my hat to the modelers and UI skills for sure. Nice work!

Necroban by Auroriax 2020-04-21T18:57:14Z

Took me a moment to get the rules, but was really neat once I sorted that all out. Nice work!!! Congrats!
