LD30 — Connected Worlds

Galactic Paperboy by Aaants 2014-08-25T11:02:00

Like the polish of this game, feels complete. Love the graphical details and the trail of the ship. I didn't like the launching mechanism though, launching was just a guessing game for me, I would have liked to see a predicted trajectory. Also if you crash and not deliver anything it takes you to the next level anyway.

Path of Supernova by NuSan 2014-08-25T11:20:00

I thought the rules were understandable, I just found it too frustrating to be fun. Great effort thought, nice wobbly music too.

MultiWorlds by Joemag 2014-08-25T09:49:00

Won in 5.7 minutes. Died 55 times. Nice game! Simply and complete. Nice music as well. I found the four-way levels far too much though, would have liked to have seen some other interesting mechanics in play.

On the edge of Earth: 5000 by Hypnohustla 2014-08-25T10:08:00

This is just fantastic, great mood, nice pixel art, nice animations, great attention to detail and funny! Wish there was more.

Transmission by ljdp 2014-09-06T21:27:00

Thank you all for the feedback! I've uploaded a new build with audio and music which you can see at this link: http://www.locogame.co.uk/transmission.php

I've kept the link on this page to the old build as the audio was added in after I had made my submission.

I.A.N by GoudaGames 2014-08-25T10:28:00

I had no idea how to play this.

Shadows by apiotrw 2014-08-25T09:55:00

would be nice to have an os x build, the framerate was far too low in the webplayer for me to play.

Connect-the-worlds by gatinmnsok 2014-08-25T10:22:00

Very nice idea! I'd love to have something like this on my iPad. I agree with TeddyNashor, it would make more sense that the game starts off populated with more worlds and no time limit (or at least a game mode option), then the player will as "what's the most optimal way to connect these?" rather than just reacting to each new planet that spawns.

Also the way you interact with the UI to connect worlds doesn't feel right, I thought you had to drag-click to connect.

Conglomerates by A333 2014-08-25T09:53:00

Any chance of a build? So many games to play I don't have the time to compile!

First of the Final by bakwards 2014-08-25T10:17:00

Neat game, I would have liked to see more planets and obstacles like moons, black holes etc.

Connect the Bridges by GameDevExtreme 2014-08-25T10:52:00

A strange theme, bridges in space? I suppose it could have been interesting but there was no reason not just to bridge everything to everything. Would be nice to have some visual representation of bridges breaking. All that said though there's a lot of components going on here so good work for 48 hours.

orbit by JRPGKING 2014-08-25T11:42:00

Coding orbital mechanics is fun isn't it? This could be made into a nice little music toy, like the pitch and volume of different tracks depends on the speed/mass/distance from center. Would be nice to have an option to see a trail of each body.

ET Invasion, Random Game by Anshzinc 2014-08-25T09:51:00

Agree with AndyBrown, it's nice to see a side scroller where you don't always have to move to the right.

Dizziness by Rozaxe 2014-08-25T11:26:00

Great game! Get's hard. Cute graphics, just needs music.

Complement Chicky by pythong 2014-08-25T10:46:00

Impressive work for 48 hours.

The Paper Dance by TravisChen 2014-12-11T21:38:00

Lovely game. Gorgeous style. Perhaps six minutes is too long?

Snowman Warzz by Frimkron 2014-12-09T20:09:00

5/5 Would have been better if you hummed the frozen soundtrack instead.

The legend of Adlez: Knil's adventure by ripatti 2014-12-14T16:26:00

This is awesome, you have a good sense of humor! I can forgive it not being finished because you've achieved so much in the time. I'm curious as to why you have to map all shuffled up ;)

Looking forward to seeing this finished.

Little choo-choo world by Tonasz 2014-12-14T15:29:00

I'm impressed with the amount of mechanics you've implemented in just 48 hours. I ended up visiting about 5 stations before I found a favourable trade, and once you've found that there is no incentive to explore further. It also feels weird to trade for coal, I would like to see a currency instead (and less starting coal). Still, great work!

Mini Minotaur by ljdp 2014-12-12T00:23:00

Alex Rose: awww nooo! I'm abroad those dates. Guess I can't really complain about being on holiday ;)

Thanks to everyone for the feedback so far! This is rather overwhelming. Definitely going to keep mini minotaur going!

Pixplorer by Nega Drive 2014-12-11T21:52:00

Very strong entry. Gorgeous pixel art and digging the music too. Not sure I like the floaty controls.

Panorama by Lyje 2014-12-08T03:25:00

Village Defender by Wilou1428 2014-12-11T20:37:00

Interesting concept. This is one of those games that takes lots of playtesting and time to balance so you've actually done alright for a jam. With a redesigned UI and proper balancin you've got a game with legs here.

Maze Escape by Gins 2014-12-11T00:32:00

Very nice and tight platform mechanics going on here. I was having fun, but then I got stuck in this part: http://i.imgur.com/91sWKfb.png and gave up. I can imagine this as larger game where as the camera zooms out further some interesting i revealed. Great work!

Detective vs Killers by tmpxyz 2014-12-14T15:19:00

I really dig this idea, and can see potential to develop it further. I'd actually rather play are more logical minesweeper like game than it is now. At least this isn't as abstract as minesweeper and a lot more compelling.

If you were to continue working on this the difficulty needs work, also I wasn't sure if the killer murders and then moves or moves and then murders and the majority of citizens were not helpful. Really innovative entry though!

SnowMan Reverge by BSODDevTeam 2014-12-11T20:22:00

Neat game. With something this simple you could either have all keyboard controls (arrows + space) or all mouse controls (or both!).

Inventory by TheMeorch 2014-12-11T21:24:00

Haha, never thought I'd see this subsystem made into a full game. Didn't make it to the end as I got stuck on lvl 3 I think. The difficulty curve was off but that's forgiveable. I could definitely see this playing well on a tablet. Excellent work, one of my favourites so far.

Alchemist by oscalbal 2014-12-11T20:12:00

Can confirm it works on OSX 64bit.

I think you've got something promising here and you should continue to iterate on it, I'd love play some kind of alchemy game on my tablet. The first thing I would get rid of though is those fairies, they add nothing to the game other than frustrate the player, you could still leave them in as ambiance. Also I had to wait a very long time for the customer to pick up the potion, I should know if I'm right or wrong as soon as I place it on the counter.

In summary though you've made a great looking game, with promising mechanics in less than 72 hours! I'm impressed and I hope you continue to improve it.

Houston, We've Got a Problem by MrBadIvan 2014-12-14T15:59:00

There is just one annoying bug in this, the message log doesn't auto-scroll to the bottom. Also you can zoom out far enough to see the outside of the map.

Apart from that though this is a great looking game, audio is great too. Like you say in your description, it would be much better if events played out on the planet not in a message log (but keep the message log for reference).

Memory Link by lurumdurum 2014-12-11T21:11:00

The platforming is very unforgiving! Sorry, I didn't play the whole game because it was becoming so frustrating. Perhaps all it needs is for those little platforms to be more sticky. Really nice interpretation of the theme, and the music is fitting for the mood.

Maze of Doom by cyrixd 2014-12-14T15:46:00

This is solid entry and I would buy a more fleshed out game of this.

There is some lack of feedback to the player that would improve it, for instance the boss battle should play out and show the back-and-forth damage over time. I also had to read your description a couple of times to understand what the bottom three symbols meant, I'm still not sure how elemental damage entirely works, I think that should be very clear.

Excellent work.

Office Escape by Graham Weldon 2014-12-11T20:50:00

Getting same flagged as malicious by chrome problem.

It's a shame the managers don't do anything if you're in their line of sight, if they chased me this would have been a tense little game! Nice job though, keep at it.

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Bookshelf Brawl by TeamQuadratic 2015-04-22T19:06:00

I didn't get to play it with another person, but I really love the concept of this! Nice touch on the different books and powers.

Out Of Mind by Lyje 2015-04-22T18:06:00

ARGRGHGHGHGH I lost my mind on level 4. Great work, but you owe me a brain.

Nuclear Autumn by phi6 2015-04-22T19:03:00

The fact you've managed to implement such solid platforming mechanics in just 3 days is black magic. Bravo. All though I have to say some of those wall jumping puzzles are hella frustrating.
