I thought it was a really cool idea, but it felt a little boring.

I thought it was a really cool idea, but it felt a little boring.
This is honestly one of the greatest games I've ever played. The mood was fantastic and I was in suspense the entire time. Mixed in with some comedy it was fantastic!
Thanks for the comments everyone! Just a tip for anyone playing, if you're not already, use focus mode to your advantage when killing the guards so that you can catch up to them faster.
Thanks again for the comments. We're planning on adding on o the game and fixing some stuff up afterwards, so we'll be sure to take your suggestions into consideration. Since we've already received a lot of feedback on the controls, we'll be sure to change those up. Thanks again everyone!
I'm not sure I really understood the game, such as why animal creatures kept flying across the screen or what this has to do with the theme for that matter, but it was a fairly simple and fun game.
Really enjoyed it and I don't even like art :P
I honestly can't really explain that xD
Thanks for all the comments everyone.
Sorry about that, I noticed that a bit late, but it is fixed in the Kongregate version if you want to try that.
@joekinley Thanks for the feedback. I commented right above about the key issue, and its already been fixed on the post compo version. As for the minigames, a lot of people seemed to think that they were easy to avoid. Have you tried moving diagonally, because that seemed to work pretty well. Personally, I don't think the minigames were too difficult, with a possible exception being the button mashing one. Did you find all of them to be tough?
Some issues with the Kongregate version; it likely won't be working correctly right now.
Well, it got me to look up linux commands, so I guess I've learned something :P Interesting game, but too hard for me.
Really cool concept, but I personally thought it was hard to figure out what they liked and disliked, unless I'm missing something.
Fun little game. I finally defeated the sash ringing... I mean hash slinging slasher!
Coolest concept I've seen!
Really interesting gameplay, especially the missile riding. Honestly though, I feel like the 10 second limit really ruins the gameplay, especially since the controls feel so erratic.
I feel like it would have been more intuitive had it started with 1 instead of 0, but that's just me.
A neat little game, though I don't think I ever made it to the end with more than 1 second to spare, so it was always very close.
Really cool! Difficult, but enjoyable.
Thanks for the comments everyone. We definitely agree about the issues with combat, as it was unfortunately rushed near the end. Glad you thought it was funny, that's exactly what we were going for.
@Vnator I'll be putting up a web version in the coming days if possible, and that may fix it. I'm not sure what the issue is though.
Thanks again for the feedback everyone. Unfortunately I probably will not be able to put up a web version because it causes some audio bugs that I don't currently have the time to fix.
Actually assonance always appears. Thanks for playing guys :)
Pretty fun, but very difficult!
That was fun, but I felt like the water wasn't necessary if you got lucking with mashing space. My high score was 14 (no water).
No idea what I was doing half the time, but I made it through by button mashing :P Cool game.
Fun, but that was really hard!
Fun, but not enough time :( I managed to get all 4 people there items once, but then it failed me.
Very interesting, though now I feel like a bad person.
I went with this same interpretation of the theme! Cool!
Insanely fun and original. I would have loved to see that as a multiplayer battle game.
Really interesting anomalies! Very innovative.
It was really cool but I can't say I really enjoyed it after the first time through
It was somewhat of a fun game
but i kind felt meh
i dont mean it to be insulting but the game was overall good on average
Dying felt very easy, but the concept is great!
The game graphics and music was cool but the game wasn't really that fun
kind of beat the game mashing space
I wasn't too fond of the rounding, but it was a nice fun game.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm going to play around with the sliding when moving and see if that helps improve the controls.
@Scipio I was thought I fixed that issue with the tents, but I'll double check that later and upload a fix.
Uploaded a new version with minor changes and a bug fix. Hoping to get a web version up in the coming days.
I couldn't really tell what was going on and the controls were a bit difficult to get a hold on
I thought the audio and mood were quite good. Gameplay felt a bit buggy, but that's expected.
The game was really cool but the maze had small openings and combined with the gimmicky controls was hard
I loved the game and all but the fact there is no "right" answer leaves me a bit empty
The game was really cool to play
Maybe the only RPG I've played where your feet aren't glued to the ground :P
Incredible game! Enjoyed it very much.
Defeating enemies is difficult, but the game still looks amazing!
Really cool interpretation of the theme
i can really see this being a real game
I like the jumping animation :P Not too keen on the moving platforms not carrying you however.
Brilliant concept! Nice job!
Ooh, I love mysteries! The gameplay seemed pretty solid, but unless I seriously overlooked something (which is possible), I couldn't really find any proof that any of them did it. Nice work though!
Very short game, but an interesting mechanic.
Fun and very hectic! Nice work!
I'm not sure I really understood the game, but it was still fun to run around and slash things! Nice graphics by the way!
Interesting concept, but it seemed like there were so many enemies that the only way to succeed was to hold the shoot key and hope you didn't get hit. Good job though!
The second and third level (that's as far as I got) were brilliant. The concept was very clever and surprising. However, the first level was so...mediocre that I almost quit there. It felt like Mario, but without the tight controls and fun gameplay. With no hope in the horizon, I almost closed the game on the spot. Luckily I stuck with it enough to see the premise behind the game come to life. With some improvement, I could see this being a pretty good game, but I'm not sure it would be anywhere near as good without the initial surprise when the mechanic was introduced.
A fun flying game. Unfortunately, it was too hard for me once I got to the orange level. But besides the lack of barrel rolls, good game!
Hard to get the hang of, but an interesting physics simulation.
Interesting concept and nice job making an RTS in such a short time! However, having to click every single coin was cruel and unusual. If that was improved, the game would be much better!
A fun, interesting game. I enjoyed it!
I'm pretty new to these cookie clicker esque games, but it was still a nice fun game!
The AI could use some improvement, but for Ludum Dare it wasn't that bad. Interesting game that could definitely be expanded upon.
@Seraphic Media Glad you enjoyed! Sorry about the difficulty. Balancing a game isn't easy in such a short time!
@grillaface I may look into making a web build in the next couple of weeks, but I wouldn't count on it, sorry.
@ShivaFang Wow, glad you liked it so much. Thanks for playing!
@hamster_mk_4 No ruler, sorry. The controls are mentioned above though.
@se1by Yeah, I've gotten reports of that in the past. Normally uploading it in a .zip folder fixes it, which is included in the post, but if not I can't really do anything about it.
Fun game that quickly got difficult.
An interesting twist on a classic game. Nice job!
Simple and intuitive, though it took a long time to become challenging.
Not a bad game, and could definitely be expanded upon, but without a brake button I really had difficulty with the controls.
Loved the gameplay! The switching out was really well done.
Such a brilliant game! I can't help but feel annoyed. Great job!
This is some snazzy stuff
the art was nice and smooth and the "cryptic" language was also cool
Interesting premise, but it was a bit hard to control.
Cool little game! I got to 50.
Awesome game, really enjoyed!
I'll be honest, I'm not really sure what I just played, but the mood was excellent and the music was nice. The visual effects were pretty nice as well. I think I may need the concept explained to me though, because I really don't have a clue what happened. It was almost trance like, which I assume you were going for.
Interesting premise, but the gameplay required too much patience with planning the perfect path IMO and I just ended up brute forcing it. Good mood though!
Hard, but fun game!
Interesting concept, but not a ton to it. Also felt a bit hard to control.
I love the concept! Nice work!
The controls felt very slippery. Otherwise a pretty good game!
Fun, but EXTREMELY difficult!
I wanted to like this game. I really did. The concept is amazing and has a ton of potential. Unfortunately, the controls are so floaty that platforming is near impossible. This is exacerbated by the fact that every time you die you have to start completely over. I really want to see this game improved, and I'm certain it could be a success if it was.
The asteroids are very hard! Otherwise, nice game!
Love the concept, but I had some trouble with it. My only real suggestion would be to not make the bullets fire randomly. It doesn't really make a ton of sense since they are basically being used to solve puzzles.
Fun game! Everything looked so nice!
Interesting gameplay and a solid foundation for a puzzle game!
Incredibly interesting concept! I think this could really make a great game! The only issue is that it got somewhat repetitive. Also, I never actually won, but it was sometimes hard to figure out what to do. Of course, it would be pointless to just give the player the answers, but some sort of hint system would be nice.
An interesting and challenging game. I like that you can shoot sideways also!
Difficult, but fun!
Interesting idea for an endless runner! Good job!
Really cool game! This could definitely be successful with a post compo version!
Difficult when played along, but seems like an interesting idea.
Very fun and cool game. Excellent use of theme. Only complaint is that platforming feels difficult with the controls.
Not a bad idea in theory, but I personally found it to be a pain that you couldn't see the message when you opened to translation guide. I was basically trying to remember symbols I had seen, and it didn't go very well. I love the atmosphere and ambient sounds though!
Brilliant concept. Personally, I had trouble with the horizontal kicks, but with some polishing this could be really good!
Fun and simple game! Nice job!
Awesome nunchucks! Fun, but simple, game.
Lol very interesting mechanic with switching between cat and human. Good job!
Very funny game. I like it!
Definitely an interesting visual experience. Unfortunately I seemed to skip a lot of the text with other people accidentally. Good work!
Loved the graphics, but the controls felt a little clunky.
This is some trippy good stuff
Interesting idea, but the controls felt very sluggish. With some improvements, I could see this being a pretty good game.
Interesting use of the theme. Fun little game!
Definitely an interesting take on endless runners. Nice job!
Interesting juxtaposition of point and click and 3D platformer. Didn't finish it, but looks like it could be a very good game with some polishing.
Pretty interesting. I'd like to see the game expanded on.
I didn't like that you couldn't move horizontally and vertically at the same time. Otherwise a decent sidescroller.
The graphics were pretty cool and the music was awesomely scifi
Unfortunately I'm inclined to agree with the other commenters. It seems like it could be a cool game, but I had no idea what I was doing or what was going on. Still, congratulations on your first Ludum Dare and I can't wait to see what you make in the future.
Interesting concept that could definitely be expanded on.
A nice, simple typing game. Adding sound and perhaps more graphics would be nice, but for what it is it's good.
this is some cool jazz, especially that interesting end
Fun, frantic gameplay, but pretty difficult. The lava also starts really quickly and if you aren't expecting it you are basically screwed on your first playthrough.
I never quite got the hang of it, but the concept is really cool! I also really liked the aesthetics.
Brilliant use of theme, especially with tilting on mobile devices. The graphics were also very nice.
Seems like a fairly simple typing game with a surprisingly high amount of game related words :P I felt that the delay between words appearing was too high and it got boring fast. The background music was very calming though.
Very difficult, but decent gameplay.
Fun gameplay, but easy to get disoriented.
Pretty tricky at points, but overall a fun game.
Not a bad idea, but too fast to the point that it's impossible to play.
Overall, interesting mechanics, but the graphics could use some work and it could use a bit more polish. I think a more refined version of this after the competition could be really cool!
Interesting game. AI would have been nice, but still very good!
The controls feel somewhat slippery, but its a pretty nice game.
Awesome 3D platforming!
Loved the idea, and the levels were very well designed!
Good job overall, but the controls are honestly horrendous. If some things were improved it could be a pretty cool game.
Nice game! Good mood as well.
Really interesting concept! Would love to see this expanded upon!
@kirbytails7 Hmmm... that's strange. After destroying enough (I think about 16) it should automatically open a choice selection at the top of the screen. After you select your choice it should go to the next level. I'm not sure why you're having that problem.
Alright, I may have identified the possible cause of the issue. Made a very minor fix and currently uploading the new one. Hopefully that helps.
@davient Did you also get an issue where the enemies stopped coming on the first level? I'll look into that again. What's supposed to happen is that you move onto the next level after beating 16 cars.
@ChezPain Thanks for the feedback! I just finished a simple counter of enemies remaining on the first level and am now uploading it. A few of the comments on the game seem to suggest that people may be quickly trying the first level and quitting before seeing the rest of the game.
Amazing presentation! This really could be an awesome game! My biggest issue was the inability to move while jumping. This made it difficult to do the platforming parts. I'm not sure if this was an intentional design choice or just something left in, but it certainly ups the difficulty!
Very fun game! :D
Got a bit laggy near the end, but otherwise very enjoyable and challenging!
Challenging, but a fun game!
Pretty cool concept! I'd love to see this expanded on!
Fun, simple game. Unfortunately I didn't really understand how aiming worked - it seemed the only times I was getting hits was when I didn't aim for them.
Challenging since you die so easily, but fun.
Awesome presentation and gameplay. The graphics reminded me a bit of Kingdom Hearts (not that I've ever played it). It was kind of annoying that you were unable to attack up and down, but the turrets and power ups helped a bit. Unfortunately, it seemed to be a bit difficult to accumulate the money to buy the cool things I wanted, especially since I had to pay to heal the player and occasionally replace turrets.
Nice, stylish entry! Enjoyed it quite a bit!
The enemies could use a bit of work. They kind of stand in place a lot. Not sure if that was intended or just a pathfinding issue. Also, I was surprised how short range the weapon was! Finally, sometimes you have to rotate the player at weird angles to get through doorways, which is annoying.
HOWEVER, I did enjoy the game, and with some polishing it could be pretty cool. I liked how you couldn't see enemies until entering the buildings! Nice entry!
Cool game! There's a bug though where you can trade with traders even if you do not have enough of what they want.
Cool concept!
Cool game! On an unrelated note, at first I keep thinking the music is going to be "I don't want to be a chicken, I don't want to be a duck". Maybe that's just me...
Simple, but cool game. The different classes add some extra fun. I did notice that it starting lagging a bit on my machine when there were lots of asteroids, but that could just be me.
Love the pixel art! The gameplay was simple, but effective.
Such a wacky game! Great job!
A cool idea. I love fire emblem and I really want to like this. The problem IMO is the sheer number of pieces. It really makes it overwhelming and time consuming to move pieces and watch the enemy move theirs. Good job though!
Nice graphics and audio. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much to the gameplay other than simple pattern recognition, unless I'm missing something. Still, well done.
Cool concept. This could definitely be expanded on!
Awesome job, please keep working on this game!
The mood was great and the gameplay interesting. There was certainly a sense of mystery and urgency. Unfortunately I didn't really figure out what to do, but I enjoyed it anyway.
Cool idea!
Loved the sense of mystery and great mood. I tried to find the endings, but some seemed a bit cryptic. Cool game!
Hey Davient, I believe you may have had an issue when you played my game where enemies stopped spawning and you were unable to progress. I have since fixed the issue, and it would be great if you could re-rate my game. I think you'll enjoy it much more now. Thanks!
http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-31/?action=preview&uid=18547
Simple and fun game. Good job!
Fun arcade style game!
Really interesting control scheme, albeit difficult. Would love to see this expanded on!
An interesting game. Not bad!
I kept falling through the floor, but that wasn't really a big deal. As for the gameplay, it was...unforgettable for lack of a better word. The various graphics styles seemed to clash a bit, however.
Holy crap this game does not mess around. Those fireballs were fast! Nice job!
The images took a bit to load and I was just looking at a blank screen for about 30 seconds. Challenging game!
Basically impossible to follow what is going on, but a cool concept!
A bit too simplistic for me. However, the concept is interesting and an expanded version could be cool. I also liked the graphics.
Cool concept! Seems like it could be a really cool game!
Hilarious game! Good job!
Nice graphics, smooth platforming, and awesome idea. What more can you ask for? Well, besides sound.
Cool. I would have liked some additional weapons though!
Awesome concept and graphics. Unfortunately the difficulty was a bit too much for me.
The mechanics could use a bit more polishing, but an interesting conept.
What a brilliant game! It was epic going from fighting a few enemies to battling massive armies of them!
Really cool concept! It's cool to try different combinations and see the results.
Pretty simple, but a good start. Personally I felt there wasn't enough contrast between the background and the player character. Good work!
Pretty tricky game. I'd love to see this expanded to a full adventure game and not just squashing spiders!
A lot of different things going on at once, but a cool game!
Not much to it, but I love the hit effects. Reminds me of smash bros. Keep up the good work!
I didn't exactly figure out what the point of the game was other than collecting the orb things, but excellent graphics, audio, and mood!
Clever and challenging game. I liked the level transition effect!
A bit confusing, but really cool concept. Some polish could make this a really nice game!
Awesome job with mood. I feel like I spent a lot of time wandering around interacting with random things, so that could probably be improved. Excellent work though.
Phenominal game! Maybe a bit too difficult, but I managed to complete it. By far my favorite game yet!
Very fun, enjoyed quite a bit!
Awesome game! Great presentation and very polished!
Hey Kirbytails, I was wondering if you'd be willing to give my game another try. I fixed the issue you had where enemies stopped spawning. Thanks!
http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-31/?action=preview&uid=18547
Fun and very polished!
This is a rather...strange game. Still, well done. Got it right on my first try!
Way too hardcore for me. I quit when the boss started moving like a sine wave. Good game though!
Difficult, but interesting and fun. Nice twist on the theme.
Amazing game. Great graphics, presentation, humor. All around great!
Cool game, great intro. The turning of the ship felt a little too fast, maybe the mouse sensitivity is too high? Excellent work overall.
Brilliant game, awesome concept! My only complaint is that level one was pretty... boring. I feel like you should have introduced the ground spring things first as they were much more interesting and would definitely have caught my interest more.
It took me a while to figure out how to do anything, but once I figured it out this was pretty cool. I definitely liked the graphics and the concept seems solid. Please keep working on this!
Simple, fun, and somewhat challenging. Could use some polish and more variety but overall good!
Ah, I remember playing this game when I was younger. Cool representation of it in a western setting. Nice work!
Thanks for the feedback everyone, I really appreciate it!
Controls weren't great as you were essentially swerving back and forth the entire time. Still, fun little game!
I honestly couldn't figure out what I was doing... the concept seems solid though. Definitely keep working on this!
Ha ha, fun concept!
Interesting idea... the inputting the numbers is a bit boring but it's rewarding to see the exaggerated effects it can have (atomic bomb, lol).
Interesting idea. The jumping, unfortunately, did not feel very good. The sounds effects also were kind of painful to listen to. With some work though I could see this being a pretty good game!
Most hilarious game I've ever played. Excellent work.
It took me a long time to figure it out, and honestly I never entirely figured out how to do things, but from what I saw this was a brilliant idea! I do feel like a bit more instruction to the player may be necessary. Great work though! Definitely a 5 for theme.
Seems like an interesting concept that could be developed. At this point, though, I'm going to abstain from rating because I don't really know what's going on and what I'm supposed to do. Good luck!
Ha ha interesting concept. I certainly didn't expect those computers to explode that much! lol good work
Fun game! I like how the mysteries are randomized. Definitely could have used sound.
Hilarious and fun. This game is intense!
Fun game and loved the concept. I felt like the game was too fast paced to actually be able to plan your shots and I usually resorted to spamming and running. Great work overall!
Really simple, but cool mechanic. Well done!
Solid foundation. I can see how a game like this could certainly be used to practice Spanish. It did get kind of redundant quickly, but nice leveling system as well.
Cool idea. Could probably use a bit more work, but what you have so far is pretty good! :D
Cool concept! I liked how the trajectory of the planes provided the challenge. My only complaint is that the controls in the air are WAY too slippery. Some air resistance is needed IMO.
Pretty good, and nice use of humor! Honestly though the gameplay kind of gets boring quickly. More variety would be nice.
Great graphics and music! I'd say the gameplay was the weakest point. It was honestly pretty hard to fight some of the enemies.
Awesome idea, but the gameplay is so convoluted it is hard to tell what's going on and what you're supposed to do. I'd definitely love to see this expanded on though!
Beautiful pixel art and music. Tight controls and excellent gameplay. One of the best games I've played! My only gripe is the difficulty of the boss.
Awesome game, really enjoyed it! The controls, however, weren't great. Moving the camera around really messed up the movement.
Cool concept and a fun game. Some more levels would be nice, as well as the ability to use WASD instead of arrow keys for movement. I personally (and I think most right handed people) prefer WASD for movement in games involving the mouse. Also maybe add jumping?
Good presentation for a simple game. Great job!
Great graphics. I feel like the start of something really great is here, but I agree that the hook isn't really used to its full potential. PLEASE keep working on this!
Cool concept and great graphics. Some music to add to the mood would be great!
Fairly fun game. The simple graphics made it a bit hard to follow. With some polish this could be a fun game!
Great idea! Loved the graphics and audio. You nailed the mood! The game was actually fairly difficult for me. Excellent job overall!
Clever concept, fun but a bit difficult. I could be wrong but sometimes it seems like I'm dying without actually being hit. Maybe the hitbox is a bit off? Great job overall!
Cool idea! Took me a while to figure out possible things I could craft.
The controls felt a bit off (sometimes it didn't seem to jump), but fun nonetheless. I liked the flip animation when you double jumped, and it was fun sending enemies flying!
Some decent puzzles. The physics with the blocks were a bit wonky though. I'd like to see this expanded on with more puzzles such as the one where you fill water and then heat it into steam. The idea of mixing elements for effects is pretty cool.
Simple little typing game. I found it kind of funny how random the words are. I know its randomly from a dictionary but I didn't expect "goatish" lol. I have no idea if this is possible with the dictionary thing you are using but maybe display the definitions of the words? That way players could learn what a bunch of these random words mean.
Cool concept. An expanded version with some polish would be cool!
Couldn't get the key to complete the first level. I liked some of the ideas like the destroying and building blocks, but the terrible controls kind of ruined it, sorry.
Awesome! Fun game!
Wow, so creepy! Nice job on the mood. The gameplay was solid, but not great. It seemed like there was some sort of delay or period after jumping where I couldn't jump again, perhaps a bug.
A solid start but could definitely use some improvement. It took my a long time to figure out how to heal and build. The ability to build was an interesting touch though! Combat could use some polishing as well.
To be honest, I'm not really sure what to do. I feel like the goal is to get enemies to the saws, perhaps by pushing and pulling, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. Still, a decent start and could definitely be improved and expanded!
I liked the graphics and atmosphere. Unfortunately the gameplay wasn't great. The pen didn't seem to have enough range and it was almost impossible to attack without getting killed. A way to restart after a gameover would have been good too.
Such a silly, but fun game! I agree with the others, weapon 2 was too good, although I love the concept of a gun that fires guns that fire bullets!
Cool concept and fun game! I liked the style, although the controls were a bit tricky.
I love the graphics and the concept is good. Definitely work on this some more and it could be really cool!
Interesting idea. I feel like it should have been possible to take out multiple enemies with one piece to make shape more important.
Kind of hard to play on Android, but still pretty fun. Definitely an unconventional weapon!
Seemed a bit buggy (getting stuck in walls when jumping), but overall good. Nice sound as well!
Cool concept! Unfortunately I had a lot of issues with the controls on the first minigame. It was really hard to aim and I couldn't beat the level. Still, good work!
Loved the voice over at the beginning! Some more feedback when someone is hit (maybe some knockback too) would be nice.
To be honest I'd say the game moved a bit too fast to completely follow and the graphics honestly didn't help. Some very good ideas though!
Awesome concept, but the gameplay seems like its trial and error. Please work on this more though because this could definitely be a really fun game!
Cool mechanic and fun game! You should definitely keep working on this!
Sweet idea! Really liked it. It was actually pretty challenging because of how quickly the enemy projectiles were - they were VERY difficult to avoid once they were fired. I guess this did add some more strategy to the game. I also felt the controls were a bit loose in the air. Some more air resistance would have been good. Overall, great game!
Phenomenal job. Loved the graphics!
An interesting concept that could use some polish. Some of the floors looked like walls! Still, good work.
Really hard but pretty fun. Graphics are simple but good!
Decent start. Could definitely be expanded!
Simple, but fairly fun. I like how the difficulty quickly increases and I love the name :D. Some sound would have been a nice addition.
Not much to the gameplay, but the graphics look excellent. With some work I see some definite potential here!
Great mood, but the gameplay felt a bit boring. I just kind of spammed my attack at the enemy and then moved on to the next room. Some more variety would be nice. Good work though!
Fun and hilarious game! I loved using the amp to swing around like Spiderman and then launch it like a pendulum :D Awesome work!
I liked it! A silly and fun concept. Maybe some more variety would be nice, but overall great!
Well, this is quite the... game... kind of? I'm not really sure what I just played... Ummm, good work?
Pretty crazy game! Lots of fun!
Cool concept with the different uses of the mouse to attack. I didn't really have any bugs besides collision being slightly off at points. Good work!
Fun and very polished! Not sure how the mouse gets split though :P
Interesting concept, but quickly got repetitive feeling.
The controls don't seem to work on android. It only moves if you directly touch the cat and even that doesn't work correctly as it only moves 1 direction.
