had a few collision issues and the game bits were missing but overall the graphics and humour made up for it.

had a few collision issues and the game bits were missing but overall the graphics and humour made up for it.
I opened your game and was prompted to click to start. After I clicked the screen the game started and I was not sure what I was suppose to do right away. I got the hang of it after playing for awhile.
Liked the concept but yeah definitely needed to be a bit faster-paced.
@People who thought it was hard, a screenshot sent in by someone: http://i.imgur.com/EFcJWbd.png
Great music and good graphics, pretty cool.
Controls are pretty bad but the art is pretty good.
Pretty easy game. Collision was a bit off sometimes.
Strangely addictive. Loved the graphics.
Lovely design and graphics. However either I was either having framerate issues or the running animation was generally choppy.
Pretty cool concept. Loved the hand-drawn art too!
Great atmosphere and graphics however there were a few too many collision issues in some parts of the game.
The accuracy meter is pretty cool. Would've preferred some actual animations instead of just a "You hit your enemy" screen. Also crashed after restarting.
Fantastic mechanic! The music and sound assets are pretty cool too.
Very interesting concept with a good aesthetic to back it up, nice job.
@Dikkop, thanks! @Jezzamon well if you had any error messages let me know but if you do have Java 7 installed it should work just fine.
If I'm honest I'm not quite sure why and the fact that I don't have a Mac to test it doesn't really help. Sorry. Is it giving any error messages or anything?
Try this, when running it from the command line, add "-nojvm" to the end.
Currently in the process of transferring to another host. Here's a temporary link: http://sleepystudios.com/downloads/yogos.zip
Yeah I'm aware of the bugs, didn't really have time to fix them. Same goes for an options menu of any sort.
Yeaaah. Objective wasn't entirely clear, nice visuals though.
Great polish, great mechanic and concept. Really good game.
Really polished! Loved the art-style and music.
Great game but those lighting effects probably should've been toned down a bit since it makes it way too difficult to find your target.
Loving the stylisation and minimalism. Great job!
Lovely graphics and although I liked that there was no "You were right!" or "You were wrong!" screen I still felt like at least a hint about your decision would've been nice.
Pretty good atmosphere but the gameplay was definitely lacking.
Despite it not being a game the message is still completely valid.
Pretty basic concept however it's easy to overlook that because of the nice attention to details and polish.
Short but has a pretty cool "end" (I assume that's what you'd call it).
Great stylisation and great attention to detail. Gj!
Nice graphics and music. The gameplay was a bit basic though.
Pretty fun but the controls were pretty awful.
Lovely concept and surprisingly challenging. Although, like a few other people I really couldn't stand the graphics.
It had so much potential...
Pretty clever use of the theme however the gameplay was somewhat... lacking.
Liked the music and the aesthetic but I also didn't enjoy the combat, felt a little clunky.
Took a while to understand how to play but became enjoyable when I did. Nice music too.
Lovely art! Could do with some music though and like others have said, the main mechanic was a bit too imprecise.
Nice and simplistic, great atmosphere too.
Wow, the graphics and music are fantastic. I love that rolling animation too and the mechanic is pretty spot on. Great game.
Pretty fun little game. Loved the art style!
Adding an element of story really makes this great, good work!
That was surprisingly enjoyable. And yeah it the music and sfx were brilliant too.
Great attention to detail, art design and atmosphere. However it's severely lacking in terms of gameplay.
Really good game. Enjoyed the fast paced action!
Loved the game - the mechanic was well executed and the minimalistic style worked great. I had one situation on the second level where me and the AI were fighting for that middle point and it seemed like there was no way for either of us to win. Might just be me being inept though.
Nice and challenging. Could've done with a bit of music to help with the mood.
It's a good learning experience, but it is obvious you have some things to learn.
Nice, simple and well executed, loved it.
@blindfox: they're aliens, they don't need to follow our language rules :p.
@freudian: sorry about that, not really sure what I could do about it.
Thanks everyone!
You sure you didn't mute it or something? I'm running Windows 8.1 64bit and the audio works fine. Did for other people too I assume.
I thought it was a nice little game that gave me a decent amount of fun in the process, which seems to be so rare these days in LD. Although, I felt like the turning of the ship was somewhat limited. First stage needs to be revamped greatly.
I really enjoyed the game. It felt tense, difficult and when you eventually win it feels very satisfying.
Very graphically impressive however the gameplay was very lacklustre.
Graphics and art direction were great but I wasn't really too sure what I was doing throughout the game.
I'm pretty inept at puzzle games but from what I saw it seemed like a really solid game with good level design and a unique main mechanic.
Great presentation and a pretty solid mechanic.
Nice and simple but still (enjoyably) difficult.
Feels very polished and the gameplay is solid. Something to consider in the future would be maybe reducing the amount of pick ups that you need to get and also maybe making the character move a bit faster. Glad you managed to finish this game Snout ;]
Very interesting and unique mechanic. I liked your use of the theme.
In terms of mood and aesthetics it's superb but like you said it really lacks gameplay.
Pretty cool main mechanic that created a lot of weird situations (still fun though).
The game was okay, but the music is definitely something I would change.
Stating the objective/goal at the start would've been a good idea. The graphics were pretty good though.
The gameplay was overall a bit... confusing? Sometimes bosses would one shot me and other times they wouldn't - seems a bit random. What I did like however is the fact that you had different music for different worlds. Reminded me of the really early Runescape music which is always a plus.
Loved the game. Clever use of the theme and good humour throughout (especially with those references). I was having a few framerate problems but that could just be my terrible laptop.
Yeah very confusing in terms of hitting the enemies. Next time you might want to make it so that the "bullets" physically collide with the enemies.
Kinda confusing but I really liked the particle effects, especially the fire ones.
Decent concept. Honestly, it felt too easy, but maybe that is because I have skill? Who knows.. Anyways, it's a nice little entry that needs some polishing. GJ
Great action, great art and great music! I had a few graphical glitches at times - I'd get these white lines flashing on the screen for a split second.
Gameplay feels a bit slow and a bit too easy. I'd up the difficulty and maybe make the acceleration upgrade increase your speed a bit more.
Excellent animation and art style. My only complaint is that aside from a few basic stealth elements the gameplay wasn't really there.
Really solid game. Very well designed and polished!
Awesome art! Having a machine gun in a dungeon crawler felt really refreshing.
Not entirely convinced about the use of the theme and the game feels a bit slow.
The player is a tad slow but that doesn't take away from it too much. Also very unique art style, nice job
Very cool art and concept. The platforming is a bit weird sometimes as a result of the enemies' collision boxes. Cancelling out of a charge also seems to bug out the player.
I feel bad for accidentally nuking Vice City. Very well designed.
Yeah there is a small bug with the camera. It was meant to stop non-map objects from appearing 1 pixel above where they were meant to. It had some odd side effects I guess.
Hah yeah that last level is a nightmare :p
I agree with you on pretty much every point there. I felt like more planes were unnecessary since you could pick them back up (at least the ones that you could actually get to). The character was originally meant to be made out of paper like the aeroplanes but we scrapped that idea and didn't go back to edit the physics.
Just added a post-compo version to fix the Mac issues, the camera issues, the physics issues and the difficulty issues. Enjoy.
In the post-compo version you're given 5 planes because yeah I understand that the last level is a nightmare.
Really nice game and definitely a breath of fresh air thanks to the textbased format.
I'm in the same boat as everyone else. A bit too confusing for me.
The art was nice. Small thing but I would've preferred some sort of score counter.
Nice idea, very polished. No need to say anything about the graphics :p.
I like the graphics and with a bit more time I could see the concept becoming a lot more fleshed out than it currently is.
This is superb! Definitely one of the most innovative games I've seen on here in a while.
Aside from the controls, I also don't like how the graphics really don't mesh well together at all.
Definitely could've done with some polish and optimisation.
Pretty cool though the graphics felt very patchwork-y.
Pretty chaotic game (mostly in a good way). The jumping was a bit weird to get used to.
Pretty fun game. The graphics and polish were great!
Such a cool mechanic! Really loved the gameplay.
Genuinely a really good game. Gave me a Thomas Was Alone feel as a result of the sprites. Definitely enjoyed the mechanic, it was really well executed.
Nice take on asteroids. The mechanic worked really well.
Pretty cool little game. The graphics and music were great!
Quite a fun little game. The weapon is definitely fun to use and the ridiculous physics were great.
Nicely designed. Would've helped to have a jump button for dodging ghosts at times.
Wouldn't open for me :/.
Pretty cool concept.
The spawning was pretty off and once you got to a specific position it was pretty much impossible to lose. Otherwise, fighting hordes was pretty fun and the abilities felt great.
The idea was pretty cool but the gameplay was a bit lacking (specifically in the controls department).
Pretty confusing at first but it gets better once you get into the swing of it.
Seemed somewhat boring.
Movement felt a bit off, perhaps a bit unresponsive but apart from that it definitely fit the theme nicely.
Really clever concept and use of the theme. The graphics were wonderful too.
Had a lot of fun with this one. The frantic pace really gives it a lot of charm.
Pretty cool concept but it was a bit too easy.
Pretty cool. The controls/physics were slightly awkward but apart from that the game was pretty well done.
Very nice use of the theme.
The controls were a bit unresponsive at times but aside from that the gameplay was refreshingly fast-paced and fun.
Doesn't really fit the theme but it's pretty cool nonetheless.
Really cool. Loved the character designs.
Kept crashing on startup (after the Unity logo). Shame, looked like a really cool game.
Pretty weird way to advertise a game but alright. Would've preferred if this was more than just a guessing game.
Gave it a go and it seemed there was a good base for a mechanic there but it was a bit hard to understand what was going on half the time.
Really cool audio and visuals.
Super cool and polished! Everything comes together so nicely under that VHS look.
Nice little game, liked all the little details like the particle effects.
Really cool how you had cutscenes, VO, amazing art and excellent music but the gameplay really needed some more punch to it - even simple things like screenshake and screen flashes and more combat feedback were missing.
Nice little game, it's cool you managed to get a highscore system in too.
Nice and colourful, jumping physics felt a bit iffy but other than that it was alright.
Nicely designed overall. I liked the ghost blocking the chest and the lamp mechanics. Could do with some more combat feedback like screen shake etc.
Cool looking game but somewhat confusing wasn't sure how to get happiness.
Really cool aesthetics but could do with some sort of state system like win/loss etc
"There should be 'Neural Escape_Data'
folder next to the executable"
You forgot to include your data folder in the windows download.
Cool little game but the controls are really janky.
Decently polished and not as grindy as cookie clickers usually are.
Cool idea but a bit too slow for my liking. Could also do with a button to cancel an aiming action.
Cool art style - lots of polish in this one!
Cool art, music and enemy design!
The element switching feels a bit too frantic to be tactical but that's just because of the pace of the game. The art and music were really good though.
Extremely nicely polished (especially with the music!) however I feel like there's so little control in the game leading to a weird mess of explosions.
Interesting art style not much of a game though unfortunately.
Cool mechanic overall but sometimes the reflection angles did feel a bit unintuitive.
Really cool atmosphere and gameplay. Loved the way all the events worked together. Would've been great if you had time to add some more audio cues and music.
Really amazing atmosphere and a really (really) tricky puzzle - had to get some paper out to try and solve it. Loved it.
Cool and engaging little point and click, had a good amount of fun with this one.
Glad you like it so much! I've put up a temporary itch.io page: https://sleepystudios.itch.io/heart-heist should update with a post-jam version soon once I'm all rested up
Cool mechanic. Could've done with more feedback to beef up the combat such as screen shake and screen flashes, etc.
Cool mechanic and art but I really found the controls a bit confusing.
Big fan of the art style and overall simplicity as well as the attention to detail and polish!
Cool art style though wish the player was animated, would've helped a lot.
Cute game - really simple yet effective mechanic and really polished!
Cool gameplay and style. Just a few notes for polish: feels like the bosses don't reach 0 health before switching and you should make the health bar a bit more obvious.
Simply amazing. Incredible use of the theme and the amount of polish is superb - even little things like only adding levels to the database if it's completed are taken into consideration.
Clever game, like how it keeps hinting and hinting at you with every death.
So much content and polish! Really liked that you had touch controls as well.
It's incredible how much content and polish there is to this!
Not much gameplay to this one I feel? Not sure how to get any sort of score.
Interesting use of assets (like the Terraria eyeballs ahaha). Quite cool apart from that, interesting idea.
Solid game, really liked the subtle mirror effects and mood.
Quite confusing for me much like everyone else. Feels weird that the friendly characters had red healthbars while the enemies had green, surely it should be the other way around?
Looks cool but the gameplay was a bit weird. Missing some sort of lose condition and the controls felt a bit unresponsive.
Looks and sounds pretty however the slow heavy movement make it a bit tedious to play.
