This game was made for the LD37 competition. It's an error which I'll correct when have time!

eruiz00 2016-12-11 23:12

In fact, my wife is furious because of the weekend she had passed alone ;)

jusw85 2016-12-12 18:53

I like this one! The title screen and music reminds me of the SNES games I used to play. You weren't kidding when you said it's difficult, I lost all my lives when I reached the bats (stage 8?)

vinipc 2016-12-12 18:53

I could only get up to stage 6, but WOW, this was a really nice game. Loved how JUICY it was.

Maybe I just wasn't good enough, but I feel you could slow down on the new enemies and mix and match them sooner. Instead of introducing a new enemy each stage, introduce one in the first stage, another in the second, then use them both in the third, then a new one in the fourth and so on.

Am I mistaken, or are you the Gradius designer in disguise?
That was a really nice game. If you will lose, it will be a shame.

Fun bullet hell game. Feels pretty polished, for example you can push bombs into enemies, nice visual effects and so far i didn't run into any bugs. Overall neat game, maybe a bit to hard but that was the intention.

BTW: by cursors u mean arrow keys right? :D

cmlsc 2016-12-12 19:02

This game would've been great if the controls worked a bit better. ;-;

smokenmirrors 2016-12-12 19:19

Pretty enjoyable!

Great work on the smoke sffects!

piwicode 2016-12-12 20:18

Well done! Graphics, sounds, music everything is coherent.
Each enemy has it's own moving scheme, and requires a bit of training to be efficiently defeated.

The gameplay is nervous, but precise. I spotted small graphics glitches due to the lack of padding between sprites in the sprite sheet. I'm impressed by the fact this game is `only` 2.2K Loc of java on top of gdx.

Some times I would have like the hitbox of the player to be smaller, but once you get used to it that works well.

It fits well the jam theme, it's a fun classical shoot them up.
The game is difficult, but I would come back to it with pleasure to see if I can beat it, and that is great.

Thanks for making this game amigo.

Thanks for reviewing my game Five Star Hotel.
I really enjoyed your game, it was fun and difficult. Also the music was good.

eruiz00 2016-12-12 22:04

New version now playable, with bonuses and gameplay revisited. Got to level 60!!!

starlight-glimmer-is-best-poney 2016-12-13 14:03

Is this really a compo gaem? So much content. So many various enemies. Tilting ground. Bombs. Just wow.

Also, it's 3difficult5me.

aster0id2000 2016-12-13 14:04

Pretty good. A bomb spawned right above the player and i died.. oops. Good job!!

potatomasha 2016-12-13 20:31

It looks like a basic shooter like a lot of other people have made but the enemies do more than just follow you. There are tons of different types of enemies which makes it really stand out.

geckoo1337 2016-12-13 23:00

Well done. Fun little game with a cute aesthetic. Animation is smooth. Clever. I had fun playing it ++

slimabob 2016-12-13 23:37

Very cool! Fantastic game feel, and I love the different weapons!

x54321 2016-12-15 16:29

Bonus points for the Genesis music!

mr-chippy 2016-12-15 16:43

That was fun. It fulfilled its goal of being a really hard bullet hell game. My main issue with it is that the death noise is extremely loud. It is a small issue but the game would have been more enjoyable without it.

omniorcus 2016-12-17 01:33

What a brilliant little bullet-hell arena shooter. I love the graphics, the sprite work is of high quality. The visual recoil of the shooting, plus the audio feedback, makes the character feel powerful. The background music is also brilliant, and reminded me of the early Crash Bandicoot games. Also, the controls buttons on the UI make the game playable with a touch screen. Nice work mate. :)

cicanci 2016-12-17 12:57

Nice game! You did a very good job in the small details such as the feedback for the player actions. Well done!

8bit 2016-12-17 13:01

Pretty good!

diplodino 2016-12-17 15:29

What a nice entry ! Addictive game, with a good replay value, some really good ideas (I love the bomb you can push on enemies), and a high difficulty, but never unfair. Well done !

quetzakol 2016-12-17 16:46

Nice, not a lot of originality (at least for the part where I managed to go) but a very good music and controls. Graphics are not so bad too :) Well done !

swellbastion 2016-12-17 17:26

This is really fun and well polished. Maybe next ld I'll get powerups in

rainssong 2016-12-17 17:40

Amazing, It's a impossible mission. 5 Star

lisnic1990 2016-12-17 18:08

Interesting gameplay

parias001 2016-12-17 19:18

YES YES YES YES!!! I love arcade styled games!!! I enjoyed it a lot!!! Congrats!!! Great game!

sekaru 2016-12-18 09:44

So much content and polish! Really liked that you had touch controls as well.

sebbernery 2016-12-18 17:27

Nice entry ! The difficulty is very progressive, that's a good thing.

doublesquare 2016-12-26 14:47

Really fun entry, good job!

louspirit 2016-12-26 16:57

Very loved that game, really. Many levels (with increasing difficulty), ennemies... good graphics, audio and AI most of all. A must play.

mattparks5855 2016-12-27 01:07

This game reminds me of an old console game, very fun to play!

terracottafrog 2017-01-01 18:14

Easily my favorite game that I've played so far. It really nails the mid to late 80s arcade feeling. I got to level 19 on my second play, after I abandoned the first on the first round when I tried to collect a bomb :P

Music adds a lot, and the effect of the background is pretty cool.

Impressive amount of content for the time as well. Stage select is nice too.

The controls felt a little bit laggy, though. Aiming was hard sometimes. The on screen controls were annoying since I do not have a touchscreen on my computer. Maybe add a toggle for those?

Incredible work, and I am definitely going back to this later!
