This is Where the Dead Live by Nefarious Fox 2016-12-17T01:21:00

Simple but effective. Definitely fits the theme. Nice character sheet too. Manual reloading feels clunky, but that more due to auto reloading being a thing. Also, the game feels a bit too easy. It's a bigger 'challenge' to remember to reload, than it is to kill the zombies.

Dungeon Market by Omniorcus 2016-12-12T17:34:00

I probably should have made them leaving clear in hind sight. Thanks for playing. Glad you liked it. :)

Dungeon Market by Omniorcus 2016-12-17T02:48:00

@Logicon Yeah, that's a bug in the barter system. I forgot to code in an auto-accept on zero, so the system tries to barter you down to a negative value.

Dungeon Market by Omniorcus 2016-12-17T02:52:00

@Phil Strahl The initial idea was for there to be multiple days, with restocking, but time constraints. I like the happy customers idea, although there is something like that in the game. Keep an eye on the clock at the back of the shop. ;)

One Room Battle Arena by Turrus 2016-12-17T00:49:00

Can't run this one atm as I don't have a controller, so I will have to find some friends. I rate this when I find some. :(

Space Mail Room by StarshipTrooper0589 2016-12-17T03:01:00

I like it. It's hard but I like it. Graphically it's boring, dull and prefect for the setting. The lack of sound bugs me, but too much would have been a bad thing here. A nice bit of humor too, with the various sci-fi references. Not everyone's cup of tea, but a nice entry none the less.

One Room to Freedom by Poller2810 2016-12-17T02:29:00

Not bad for a first attempt. Interesting idea, with the simultaneous movement, and the bolder moving. Simple to set up too. The graphics, while basic were fine. The lack of a clear indicator of which key goes with which box was annoying though. Background music was fitting, if highly annoying. Also your voice for the announcements? Next time you might want to use audacity to mess with the sound a bit.

Cursed King's Court by kraftkar 2016-12-17T03:31:00

Nice idea. No challenge.

It's play style is very similar to any other "Clicker" game. You don't even have to look at the cares as the trade offs for one card over another is practical zero. I was up to 26 days until death at one point, using the "rapidly like a valid button" strategy.

It's a shame too, as the concept is so interesting, as is the art style and the backing audio. One other issue is the placement of the resource counters, with seem to be separate from the game, visual speaking. These counts would have been better off next too the 'people' on either side of the king.

Overall it's a really good attempt, with bunch of brilliant elements, all let down by poor balancing. It you can get those balancing issues for the cards right, then this game will be brilliant.

one room arena by Starlight glimmer is best poney 2016-12-17T02:44:00

Nice concept. Annoying in practice. The Graphics style is interesting and I like it, but not with this control scheme, as its hard to know the exact borders of the wall. I feel it would have been better as a pure twin stick, or with rotation on a and d instead of strafe. The sound design a bit annoying, but overall fine. With some polish, and a new control scheme, this could be a really nice little arena shooter.

one room arena by Starlight glimmer is best poney 2016-12-17T03:02:00

Oh. Forgot to mention earlier, you're right.
Starlight is best pony. :)

Laser Panic by ACCBDD 2016-12-17T00:25:00

Simple concept. Simple Controls. I love it. Addicting to. You die, but just want to come back for more. Art style is basic, but effective, With the color scheme making hazards easy to spot. Great job man. :)

Tim in Time by Alexbrainbox 2016-12-17T01:02:00

A nice little game. Simple, and more of a walking sim, but I enjoyed it. The humor and commentary on gaming genres was also a really nice touch.

The Room by Tharky 2016-12-17T00:13:00

Um, My antivirus has just flagged and lock the exe file. It's also apparently sent a copy off to the AV company to be tested. I don't know what you used to make this, but my AV REALLY didn't like it. :/

Violent Rom by eruiz00 2016-12-17T01:33:00

What a brilliant little bullet-hell arena shooter. I love the graphics, the sprite work is of high quality. The visual recoil of the shooting, plus the audio feedback, makes the character feel powerful. The background music is also brilliant, and reminded me of the early Crash Bandicoot games. Also, the controls buttons on the UI make the game playable with a touch screen. Nice work mate. :)

Moonlight Maximum by slimabob 2016-12-12T14:43:00

Everything feels a bit too slow, except for the enemies movement speed. Early game turrets aren't worth the cost, and the lack of a reloading sound breaks the feeling of the guns, especially compared to shooting sounds. Lack of sound effects in general is a problem, such as a damage taken indicator or an enemies spawned sound. On the positive side, the back story fits(although that a stupid spot for a reactor), and the end game sequence is good, if a little juxtaposed with the lax of additional sounds before it. The gun play is also fine, with the shogun feeling satisfying; although the MG, not so much. A good entry. Next time, try to ad more audio ques for the player. They really add to the immersion.

The Exterminators Part II by Jigosystems 2016-12-17T00:06:00

Like Hawk said, A bit short and no challenge. Also the lack of an ability to shoot in the y dimension, despite the level being 3D is annoying. A nice concept though, with an original doom feel. Might have been better to make the wave size increase with each consecutive press of the wave button, and make there be a mandatory 5 or 6 ammo drop between waves.

Bad Panda - The ex-panda-ble by Kingblork 2016-12-17T00:40:00

Interesting little game. Surprisingly endearing art style, combined with functional and more importantly fun bullet-hell mechanics. I do have to major issues though. One is the buildings, which feel like the should give you cover from bullets, but don't. Second is the hit boxes, which are all squares. This isn't so much an issue on the regular enemies, But is a major issue on the boss. Otherwise, great game.

Kitchen Wizard Pinball by quill18 2016-12-17T01:53:00

A good game of pinball. I like. It uses the theme to dictate it visual aesthetic, so its good there. It is fun to play. It is just pinball, but its a good pinball. Audio wise, the soundfx are good, and the backing is fine. A little repetitive, but that's what the gameplay's for. Graphically, it's a little dull, but it is also done in 3D, so that's a bit more acceptable. The lack of a backdrop to the machine is really unsettling for me.

Jim is Moving Out! by stadoblech 2016-12-12T15:25:00

A brilliant piece of work. The simple but clear art style pairs well with the simple, but fun, mechanics of the game. There is a lack of audio feedback, but the overly epic soundtrack, despite the simplicity, make it a mute point. The theme is in-your-face strong, and while some levels definitely feel hard, they are all obvious in hindsight. That's the hall mark of a good puzzle game. Lots of fun, Great work.

LD42 — Running out of space

Path of Excess: Hoarder vs Horde by quill18 2018-08-12T23:21:28Z

Enjoyable for a couple of minutes. It loses tension rather quickly though, especially with a couple of good item spawns. Audio didn't come across as anything too special. Graphics are quite charming. Item names are also rather humourous. Overall an enjoyable entry, that just requires some more balancing work on the difficulty curve.

Easter Shabobble by King Kujito 2018-08-13T17:07:24Z

I like it. The 3d graphics are very nice. I like how cute the characters are. The simple, audio track works well and makes the entire game feel even more adorable. The inventory space reductions work well here to add tension. There are however a couple of bugs when it comes to the moving platforms. The most game breaking one is a collision bug when you jump onto a rising platform resulting in the character becoming stuck in the platform. Since there is no way to restart a level at will, this results in the player having to restart the game. Other than being very buggy, the game is fairly good.

Easter Shabobble by King Kujito 2018-08-13T17:35:03Z

@king-kujito That would have been helpful to know. Doesn't change the bugs, but still. 😋

Too Many Boxes by jasperarmstrong 2018-08-13T02:09:59Z

This was surprisingly compelling. Average graphics, and no audio work, but weirdly fun. The package names were a good touch, and it was oddly exciting to see what new thing had been 'delivered'... I think I have just learned something about myself.

Overload by ProgrammingDimension 2018-08-13T03:06:16Z

I don't really know what to say about this one. The UI is confusing, the feedback to actions is terrible, and ultimately I am bored by it. On the other hand, the game is ambition, strategic, and feels like it could be great fun. But it just isn't though. Sorry man. This one is a miss for me, mainly due to the UI design.

Bitter Litter by Jole 2018-08-13T16:01:40Z

That art style really fits the game, and pairs well with the audio. Controls are a bit confusing, and the keyboard movement combined with the on-screen buttons feels odd. Not bad, just odd. A nice piece overall, with a nice amount of polish.

Space Depot by Laien Pathfinder 2018-08-13T13:56:05Z

A great idea, with both a setting and gameplay adherence to the theme. The graphics are pretty if simple, and the audio perfectly captures the mood of the game. There are however issues with the hitboxes of objects, resulting in many unearned deaths. The biggest issue with this is the spikes at the front of the ship, which don't count for catching space trash and are constantly getting hit. Also, the turning thrusters sound effect is horribly grating on the ears. Otherwise, this is a really fun little game. :)

*N*X warriors by Stepan Shabalin 2018-08-13T01:09:18Z

Div by 0 errors for me on the win32 version. Sorry man.

*N*X warriors by Stepan Shabalin 2018-08-13T17:13:02Z

The div by zero errors are still there. They seem to be in the 'box placement' section of the code. :/

*N*X warriors by Stepan Shabalin 2018-08-13T17:20:38Z

OK, so I downloaded your source files, and it worked out of the box. Looks like the issue is being caused by missing external resources.

Satellites by Bewelge 2018-08-12T23:54:06Z

What an interesting concept. Not exactly my cup of tea, but very unique. Graphics are simple but effective, and quite pleasant to look at. Audio track fits both the game style and the graphical style well, and the game most definitely fits the given theme. The only 'issue' is the lack of humour, but that matters little, considering the technical look of the UI. Overall a good entry, with great use of the theme.

Void Knight vs PEST by Memel06 2018-08-13T02:21:11Z

This is fun. It's a simple concept, done well. The graphics have a charm about them, and the trail left by the spear is a nice touch. Twin stick controls aren't often seen, so this is a breath of nostalgic air. The one issue is the movement speed of the spear feels too slow, but that is a relatively minor point. Nice work man. :)

Acreage by pomb 2018-08-13T16:30:15Z

I will come back to this game later. It's a nice little strategy game, with a lot of replayability. I am determined to beat my own score! The graphics are pretty, and the strategy is fun. The game really could do with some audio to accompany it however.

cargOS by tigerj 2018-08-13T02:53:25Z

I like it. It has a nice feel to it. The concept is simple, yet executed well. The audio is nothing special fits well enough. The graphics are also quite nice, with a crisp feel that is fitting for both a shipping warehouse and spaceport. The main issue is that the claw is a little too slow, with the entire game feeling slow because of it. Otherwise, great work man.

Temple Trap - The Game! by Jasper Hansen 2018-08-13T13:18:13Z

A nice piece of work. Not my style of game, but nice. The artwork looks good, with nice animations. The selection of enemies seems a bit limited though. It's also unclear at first that the walls closing is tied to your health. Audio is a bit lacking. Really require some form of backing track.

The cutest garden by Quorusa 2018-08-13T00:48:09Z

A nice little entry. A bit slow paced, but nice. The artwork is adorable, and the audio work matches the overall feel. You can be proud of this first entry.

Cure Your World by teo989 2018-08-12T23:42:51Z

A bit lacklustre in all honesty. The car controls feel very off-putting, due to the instantaneous move/stop. This combined with the forward/backwards movement requirement for turning makes the controls very annoying. The concept is rather simple, with the car movement aspect being the most innovative part. Graphics are very simple, and not attempt at audio or humour seems to have been made. Thematically this does work, but in the most obvious way possible. Overall this is a decent idea, stifled by a large number of design issues, mainly the feel of the controls.

PLUNDER by Wieczny 2018-08-13T14:44:44Z

It's a nice concept, but I feel you could do a lot more with it. The 'plunder sessions' feel too short, and there doesn't seem to be any reason to be selective in what you destroy. It would have been cool to be able to get combos of items that could combine into new items as you played. Also, the game NEEDS audio. It's actually a disservice to the concept for the game not to have audio. Otherwise, the game is weirdly addicting and fun.

Never run out of SPACE: a ZIP folders journey by Swini 2018-08-13T00:24:58Z

For your first game, this is great. Graphically this is beautiful, and I like what you have done with the theme. However, I did not enjoy the game. This is mainly due to difficulty issues. I only managed to get to the third level before the frustration got to me. Every level requires death to progress, death usually invoked due to a lack of knowledge of the level, as opposed to the lack of ability. Level 1: the movement speed was a bit too low, resulting in being unable to dodge the blocks. Level 2: You can't see the platforms you're trying to jump to in multiple instances. Level 3: the boss moves too fast to constantly avoid, and a lack of feedback as to if the bombs are hitting leads to uncertainty and frustration. I want to enjoy this game, but the little things like these just make it too frustrating to play.

The King's Board by Martin Senges 2018-08-13T13:31:22Z

This is a nice piece of work. As a fan of both chess and go, this feels like a nice mix of both. The graphics are simple, but that's all they really need to be. Again audio is basic, but that is acceptable for this style of game. The biggest downside is that you really need another player to play this with, but the rule set is open enough for a lot of fun matches between friends.

Oh no! This is monsters! by Alexey Akulovich 2018-08-13T14:11:16Z

A solid piece of work here. Original? No. Well executed? Yes. The artwork is nice enough and does its job well, the same thing can be said about the music. The arcade feel of this is great, and more importantly, this game is just great fun to play. The one big issue is that the rocket launcher is a bit too powerful, especially for the amount of ammo you get for it. Otherwise, great work.

Claustrophobia by DangoGameDev 2018-08-13T01:00:48Z

This is a game where half the players will solve it immediately, and the other half will get really frustrated wondering what to do. I was in the first set. Despite the game lasting less than 30 seconds, I liked it. It's annoyingly short, but the graphics are very nice. I was instantly immersed in the world and really wanted more to be honest. Kind of leaves me with a weird feeling of longing. I look forward to playing your entry in the next Ludum Dare.

SpaceRun by Stoan 2018-08-13T02:33:55Z

This is a brilliant entry. The interpretation of the theme is the most obvious interpretation that I would never have thought of. It also works for both the setting and the gameplay. The sprites are beautiful, and the simple looping audio really adds to the arcade feel of the game. This combined with the fast-paced gameplay makes this one I think I might keep around for when I'm bored, but only have a little time to kill. Excellent work man.

Floodtown by Sita 2018-08-13T15:49:29Z

Good work man. I liked the concept, and the gameplay was fun. I'm still unsure as to how the adjacency bonuses work, however, and I feel like there should be some way of forcing the flooding to flood other areas first. Audio is extremely basic and quiet, to the point I missed it at first. Overall, a great concept piece. On I think world be great fun with some more development time, and some fitting audio,
