I love this one! The basic gameplay feels a lot like Recettear, and I like the backstory you've given it.

At first it's really tough to figure out how much to sell your items for, but once you get the hang of things the game becomes much more manageable. Great work!

Great idea. It took me some clients to figure out when they were ultimately turned down, this would be more clear if they left by themselves.
Your game stayed interesting throughout a whole day, the idea of selling to monsters is fun.

Well done!

I probably should have made them leaving clear in hind sight. Thanks for playing. Glad you liked it. :)

Wow, I'm terrible at selling things ><. The idea was really interesting though.

Nice work on the bargaining feel and the audio treatment. I felt there was some world behind what you were creating. I found the feedback on bargaining to be pretty weak and I never knew if I had made a good deal or what. Were they just not leaving on their own? ANyway, the kernel of something pretty neat here.

Pretty entertaining. It's a little hard to get a "read" on the clients enough to really know if you're doing things right, but interesting nonetheless! Nice jam entry

IT was weird when they didnt want my free stuff

Ha, interesting idea! I would have loved a little more feedback as to how much something is worth, so initially I lost a lot of money. Audio was funny too, nice market ambiance and all. Ideas for further expansion: 1) Happy customers come more often, but you don't profit off them as much. 2) At the end of the day you need to restock, so if you run out of potions before your best, happiest customer is bad in the long run. Solid entry no less!

@Logicon Yeah, that's a bug in the barter system. I forgot to code in an auto-accept on zero, so the system tries to barter you down to a negative value.

omniorcus 2016-12-17 02:52

@Phil Strahl The initial idea was for there to be multiple days, with restocking, but time constraints. I like the happy customers idea, although there is something like that in the game. Keep an eye on the clock at the back of the shop. ;)

Beautiful Main Menu screen, great art and audio throughout! Some more feedback from the customers would be nice. The easiest strategy I found was to keep the slider in the middle for all customers. If I tried something else I'd usually loose profit or make them leave.

(Btw, thank you for the wonderful feedback on my game! The Cookie-Clicker strategy is an issue I'll have to adress in the future, so thank you for pointing it out. Good luck in the compo!)

Nice art and graphics! A decent idea too that I haven't seen before, though it reminds me of Shoppe Keep.

Hey made 200 coins. Liked the graphics and (above rest) sound effects. Well done!

I really liked the ambiance, and what you managed to do with the art assets. The gameplay was ok. If there had been more transparent info (how much the base cost of an item was to start with, if people were happy or upset with purchases, when bargaining was over, etc) I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more. It would have been nice to see something unique with the monster setting. I didn't see anything different from Recettear's bargaining. The scope of your game was well executed and polished, though, and for a game jam this is a great effort!
