This game is just awsome
The graphics and overall look and feel are really nice.
After a few tries and actually finding out how stuff works (exact production of buildings and bonuses), I got what I think was a decent run with score of 25466.
I would love it if I saw which bonuses are going to appear next.
I enjoyed the art style of this game. It was super consistent.
Also the mechanics were enjoyable. I definitely needed to play the game a couple of times before I got the hang of it, but then it was quite fun managing my own little flooding town.
The bonuses were an interesting way to prioritize certain regions. It would have been interesting to affect the flood water in some way using something like a dam. But I don't know exactly how that would have worked, and I don't know what your back-end looks like, so that may not have even been possible.
Honestly, the thing that stood out the me the most in this game was the tactile sense of manipulating the board. It really felt like a board game, in a good way. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you all for your kind words!
@boltkey Seeing next bonuses sound like a rather good idea, it will definitely be on my TODO list.
@thepelranthean Dams actually were one of my first ideas, and there are still heightmaps of them in source code. I thought implementing them would be bad idea, because it would make late-game less interactive - they would just postpone flooding for a few boring seconds/minutes/eternity. Maybe if I added less arcadey mode one day? Will have to think about it.
It seems rather complex, you won't get the hang of this game in less than five minutes. However it seems very promising! The bonus fields and temporary bonus give greath depth.
The sounds were not overwhelming which is very good and the graphics all felt in the same style, showing they were created with a specific goal in mind.
Overall well done! Perhaps some tutorial levels could give a better understanding of the mechanics?
I liked it! I managed to earn $12072, so probably I didn't quite get how to play properly. Perhaps a tutorial would help. The graphics were nice and I really got the theme of running out of space!
Good game, it really was very fun to play. Even though I didn't read the tutorial properly, I still managed to learn how to play the game pretty fast with help from the UI. Good job, maybe add more gameplay if you ever want to update it. Like more buildings and land.
Good work man. I liked the concept, and the gameplay was fun. I'm still unsure as to how the adjacency bonuses work, however, and I feel like there should be some way of forcing the flooding to flood other areas first. Audio is extremely basic and quiet, to the point I missed it at first. Overall, a great concept piece. On I think world be great fun with some more development time, and some fitting audio,
I don't unterstand how to play
It took a minute to get the hang of the game, but once I did I thought it was amazing! Good use of the theme, and I had a ton of fun trying to balance all the different resources. It is pretty difficult (I could only get up to $8672) but with a high skill ceiling it's definitely the kind of game I can see myself coming back to play again and again.
Amazing game!
Was searching everywhere for the actual company tile in the first try ahah
Nice idea and concept! Really enjoyed playing it! Managed to earn 21462$ :)
Keep it

My score
Pretty fun game! It took me a while to understand what to do, but once I got the hang of the game, it became an interesting challenge.
Very interesting to play game.
This looks interesting, though I'm not sure how to run it. Upon unzipping it, I don't have any .exe file.
@lexyvil hello, sorry for replying late! Game is written in Java, and you would need Java Runtime Environment to launch it. You can do it by either opening .jar file or .bat file (which opens .jar file with fix due to a bug with window size (Windows only)). If you are concerned about this bug, I am developing new version with quality-of-life improvements and it should be out in a few days. If you want to know about this, you can follow me.
Interesting game~ Got up to 7693, it's quite hard to know what's going on right off the bat but it does make sense after the first few rounds. I love the random layouts too, as it adds replayability.
