Good game to relax.
Fun and creative. I wish games were more random and had more ragdoll like yours :)
Very creative and original.
Just dig lots of holes and done: almost invincible. Besides that, the game is really cool
Man, you should reupload the original version. People are going to rate your game for the updates you did AFTER the deadline, and that's no fair :(
Nice game! I found it too difficult, but I like the concept.
Bah, I hate being evil :( This game is great, it makes the player feel bad for its own actions.
I didn't get it, sometimes I shot a ball into other ball and its color didn't change at all. Besides that, I can see this has a lot of potential!
Really cool game! I like the art and the gameplay a lot! c:
Short, but cool. Really strange thing is that by petting your cat you also laug AND change the weapon! Just like a villain.
Great idea, and nicely done!
Well done, the art is pretty great. The only thing, in my opinion, that would make the game a lot more intuitive and relaxing (and also easy...) would be controlling the shooting angle with the mouse pointer. Great game you've done!
Frolacosta: you died a lot because a Jellycop caught you!
Thank you all for the comments! I wish I had added everything you mentioned, but I didn't have time to do so. Next LD I'll make a much better game!
Wow. I don't like minesweeper at all, but I'm sure that people who like it would love this game. It's really cool!
Cool fighting game, but how exactly do you shoot goats?
Well done...
I like the vast open world, the simple textures and the 3D models. However, it's really hard to control the dragon.
Nicely done, you showed that playing as a villain is pretty fun too! :D
Clicking doesn't do anything. By incomplete, did you mean unplayable?
It's a good idea, but it's hard to know what you are doing. It should be a bit more self explaining.
Great game! I've never seen an almost-2D game o unity. Too bad there's no audio. Also, it would be great if the player moved along the moving platforms. Good job!
Cool idea, the player must be aware of the whole thing to win :D
Very cool, this game is really well-done. I loved the art and the character's movements. Congratulations!
Cool, but did you REALLY do everything in 48 hours? The skybox, water too? If so, congratulations, you have made an awesome game. For the people who canot charge, you have to TAP space quickly!
Oh, I meant 72 hours, didn't realize it was Jam.
I like the art and the wario ware style, but the minigames should something more interesting that pointing and clicking stuff. Good job!
The window closed on the third level... Also, the 2nd and 3rd are the same :O
Fun game. Too bad there aren't sound effects or a song, but I understand sometimes there is no time left for that stuff. I like the story c: Nice art too!
This sounded like a good game, but I couldn't play it, it was REALLY buggy. I started driving and the my car started flying and spinning crazily... I'm sorry, it's just so buggy it's unplayable.
Yes, the last level IS solvable. And challenging. This game is ultra mindblowing, creative and fun. Gaaah, why didn't I had this idea before? You should really make a full-lenght game out of this, it has potential. I'll be mad if this doesn't show up on the top 20 at least! 5 stars!
I've already commented, but I like this game so much I'm commenting again. If you make a real puzzle game with lots of stages out of this, I'll totally buy it!
Well done, the fact that you did an RPG fighting system in 48 hours is amazing :O Also, I love Blade Storm!
I like the idea and art, but it was glitchy :(
Dun dururun daran dun durun darun dun dun... Funny game!
Well done, the gameplay is interesting and fun, the graphics are amazing and the audio is great. Well done!
I don't know what those bright spheres were, and I couldn't find the place to plant the bomb. But,wow, what a great mood! You should have worked with the Slender team C:
It looks like your website is offline D: I'll check it later ;)
This game is beautiful. 5 stars on the mood, for sure.
I Lol'd, this looks like my entry, but 2D. Good job!
Brilliant! Simple, yet really fun. 5 stars for humor, loved the browser puns and the ending.
I like the game, it's fun and relaxing, half a second after I got to level 2 I died :( So, I had no patience to finish level one again. Besides that, well done!
Wow, awesome game. Just thinking that you had to do the robot's model and animation, the model for everything... Really great!
I like the art and the Zelda I style. Some audio would be good...
Sorry, it's hard to understand, buggy and has an annoying camera. Pretty much unplayable to me :(
Whoa, nice game. It's really big for something made in 48 hours!
Simple, easy to pick up and play, and fun. Also, the pixel art is cool. Good job!
The teleporting thing is really cool, and I like the way the character moves fastly and jumps really high. But even Level 1 is frustrating, I did'nt have enough motivation to complete it. Some checkpoints would be great. Also, when I jump and hit on the ceiling, it's really buggy: my character ends up in strange places or the game crashes. But nice work!
Nice aesthetics, it is a fun arcade :) Also, I managed to get out of the tube and surprisingly there are asteroids outside the level, so I died easily.
Simple and fun shooter. I like the mood. TIP: It looks like you are using the default Character Controller from Standart Assets, which has a pretty bad MouseLook script. I made my own character controller (which is also a Rigidbody) and I learned a lot from it.
Pretty good and innovative, except the ultra-sensible mouse look really annoys me. Are you using the Character Controller prefab from Unity's Standart Assets?
AstroEngiSci, I recommend you to try making your own MouseLook script. You might find it useless, but once I did it and learned a lot from it. (actually it is pretty easy, all you have to do is rotate the camera according to the mouse axis)
Why was this deleted?
Innovative, good run on the theme. I would like to see more levels and some audio :)
I can see this is a pro's entry, this is minimalism at its best. The only con I found is that the song is so awesome it distracts me from gameplay :D
Minimalistic QWOP. Awesome!
Good concept, great graphics and audio, but most of the challange was not about getting bigger, but controlling the katamari which didn't stop "flying" for some reason. Also the ratio between your size and the minimum size of objects you can pick up should be smaller, so you need to be bigger to get big objects, just kike the real Katamari. Besides that, well done!
Simple and fun, makes me feel like a powerful potato. Some audio would be nice.
Good idea, but somehow I got out of the cylinder. Also, why do I have those cow arms?
This is the kind of game that would make you rich if you added some features and sold it for $0.99. Awesome!
Good, but it's not that scary :) Also pointing at things to interact with them is difficult.
Simple, and good audio (although I'd like to hear the jetpack). But why is there a limited number of lives? This makes rage-quitting extremely easy (like it happened to me). Overall, great game!
Potatonuked, weee :)
Hooray, I hit the bin! :) So, what rating should this get on graphics?
Sad, it is a solid entry. Awesome audio and mood.
Fun, but a little confusing and hard to controll. Graphics were weird-scaled, but I like the self-description idea.
Good game, but I didn't understand how to get to the 2nd level.
Nice experience and story :) It must hae taken a while to make these transitions
It is an innovative run on zombie games, however collision is a bit buggy and items are confusing. Audio is scary enough, and the art is cool too.
Great game. Oddly, when I press "Try again" I can't do anything on the room, there are sparkles everywhere and the timer reads -1:60. I'm using Google Chrome, by the way.
Nice little experience. The MouseLook script is bad, though.
Help! What do I do? This looks awesome!
Great use of Conway's game of life! Didn't see relation to the theme, though.
That is a lot of content for 48 hours! Cool graphics, music and gameplay!
Cool art style, adds a lot to the humor. I wish it wasn't so short, the controls were very tight! Could have been a nice, long platformer...
@archaeometrician print(); doesn't work in the game, you have to use the function Log(message : String, color : Color);
If you are in the level TimeWarper, the cube goes everywhere. To have an idea of where the cube is, use the following command:
me.transform.position = transform.position + Vector3(0,5,-10);
This will place the camera close to the cube.
This is near-perfection, the controls are tight, everything is responsive, the music fits the mood very well. It is very rewarding to kill a foe mid-air. Amazing.
How do I beat the jetpack dogs? Good game, but I keep getting beat by the jetpack dogs!
This is cool for your first game, but let me share a few tips:
1. Changing the background would be cool, either to another color or to a skybox. Just not default.
2. Sometimes antialiasing helps!
3. It might be my imagination, but you need to change the smoothing curve for imported models.
4. http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/12/13/unity-devs-i-beg-you-do-not-use-standard-mouselook/
Good job at publishing a game!
The 2D-3D thing got me so confused! I still don't understand its perspective. Good game, nice BGM!
I see what you did there! Inverting enemies with coins is a nice touch on the humor. Graphics are funny, too.
What is the goal? How do I win? I like the mechanics, though.
Oooh, now I get it! Very creative take on the theme. I couldn't figure out the goal because the light grey area was almost camouflaged! Great job with this!
____________________________________________________________
Jokes aside, this is an awesome take on the theme!
I got 945 kills by clicking randomly, is that what I'm supposed to do? Interesting game. I just didn't get it: what do I have only one?
Ótima ideia! Apesar de alguns problemas técnicos (às vezes fica meio lento com muitos quadradinhos vermelhos) e não ter muita relação com o tema, o conceito é muito interessante e vale a pena ser explorado. Bom trabalho!
Great idea! Despite having some technical problems (sometimes with a lot of little red squares the game gets laggy) and not being really connected to the theme, the concept is very interesting and is worth exploring! Good job!
(oops, it looks like this website does not enjoy foreign characters that much. hmmm...)
ãáâóõôõéêíúç
A collaborative experimental art game. What choice do I have but to give you a good rating? I'm just confused about what rating I will give you on graphics...
Good game, I managed to beat it on my second try. Really cool song!
Cool concept, nice upgrade system. The song rocks hard! Also, there are two things specifically about Unity you should take notice:
1. Increase font size and decrease scale to enhance the resolution of 3DText;
2. http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/12/13/unity-devs-i-beg-you-do-not-use-standard-mouselook/
Art style is awesome, but the controls are weird and the gameplay isn't really interesting...
Graphics are astonishing. The music is good, but gets annoying after a while. Also, no checkpoint? :(
Too buggy to be playable... Besides fixing the obvious bugs, maybe you could work on a more precise MouseLook? Maybe some anitaliasing? I like the portal-ish style!
Omnnonomonmonomonmonomonmonomonmonmom. Good job!
Great! Doing animation in 48 hours is tough. Also, the concept of getting footage is very cool. Damn you, mainstream media!
Nice typing game! Good humor!
Great use of toon shaders, awesome character design. Didn't know what to do after I killed the boss. (BTW the boss fight was very smart!) The ground had some issues with tiling and placement (one ground inside another makes the illumination glitchy.) Nice audio, very moody! Overall a great game.
Great graphical style and gameplay! The only bad thing is the weird mouse aim. Besides that, awesome!
Cool style, although the water doesn't seem to math the aesthetics. The gameplay is somewhat weird.
Excellent game! Would be even better with music.
Good graphics. The controls made it a bit frustrating to jump on the portal.
Whoa, I like this! The handwritten style is cool, but sometimes hard to read. The part of retrieving the ball not only fits the theme well, but also reminds me of a child play. The spike are comparable to a street with fast cars, where children get into risk to retrieve their ball. I will try to play this with my friend!
Nice game, very innovative gameplay. The jump sound getting duplicated by the clones wasn't very nice. Great art style.
Great game, just had trouble with climbing up, most of the times the rat would just jump. Not sure how to climb up and not jump. Pretty cool!
Simple, yet fun. What this really needs is more gameplay to be a full game. The aesthetic is really good! Good job!
SO CUTE!
Congrats on your first unity game! This is a cool game, but it's not very challenging and it's too repetitive. The style and music were great!
Very fun, the parallax adds a great visual effect. I was thinking, "what happens if I go underwater? Do I die? OOOHHH the theme!" Maybe add more features and it could become a great exploration game.
Very cool, the audio is awesome! Still, there are three things that could efortlessly make this game better:
1. Screen.lockCursor = true;
That mouse is really annoying!
2. A smooth mouse look script. There are tons on the web. This is my biggest pet peeve, unity gamedevs that use the default mouselook script and don't adjust the speed. It's too fast!
3. Some antialiasing works great with geometric games!
Great graphics and mechaincs, but the catterpilar kept getting stuck on the bowl, which made me give up. Also, why is the music a 3D sound with doppler effect and everything?
Awesome stuff, man! I'd like to see some interactivity, but there's no need for gameplay. I like the artsy-exploration thing.
Great game, but gameplay was confusing. Whenever I dig something up, there's a sing, but I have no idea what that did.
Why not use a smoothier and slower mouselook script other than unity's default?
The graphics were good, but the gameplay was confusing (dying out of nowhere, random exclamation marks, torch runs out etc). It's also impossible to know where you are going to fall.
Great pun, great fun.
After about a thousand tries, I completed it! Maybe you should make it gradually become more difficult and have a bigger level. I mean, you have to play for a long time to win as it is, but the time you win takes less than a minute of playing. The graphics were impressive for the particles and the fact that the character has animation. Would be a lot less frustrating if the character had no friction. Hey, we both made platformer games where you have to escape a volcano!
Awesome! The story is great, I like the gameplay variety, the music is also great! Solid entry!
This is good, but it seems that you are using the default Unity Mouselook script. There are several other Mouselook scripts on the web that are a loot smoother and some even have acceleration. Maybe making the camera movement smooth or with a lot of inertia would work better than just making it slow. The music is good, too.
Nice little game, very cool style. The UFO was very unexpected!
Cool! I gave you +1 star on graphics just for the bird. Really fun game!
This is the next flappy bird! Maybe with a little polish you could release it for mobile. Looks like I'm not the only one who made a game inside of a volcano!
Cool concept, but somewhat repetitive. Nice use of the theme and music!
Very fun little game, the graphics are pretty cool. Good job!
Cool idea, but the gameplay is not that engaging. Also, just for the record, a virus is not a cell ;)
Fun game, the visual effects added a lot overall. Congrats!
Interesting mechanics, although I think there is something missing. Maybe somewhere you can't shoot, so you're not firing all the time? Great visuals.
Very difficult, indeed! The gameplay is simple, but the strategy to survive is not!
Great mechanics, but the graphics were bad mostly because of the interpolation. If it were just pixelated it'd be great. The slime could have some kind of idle animation so it doesn't look dead like a rock. The music was good, but it just stopped and the game became quiet. But still, the gameplay was very interesting.
Can't really rate this, I don't have an AZERTY keyboard. You should have settled on arrow keys...
Whoa. Just. Wow. Like others have said, there seems to be some kind of issue with the aiming, but this is still near perfection. You should post it to a game website like Kongregate, this is pro stuff.
Great execution, the audio is delicious! It's also very interesting that you took pictures for graphics. Would be cool if the spoon actually moved!
This would benefit from a background color that isn't unity's default. Didn't see any conection to the theme. With some polishing and debugging, could be a great game!
It was kind of hard to put the pin in place, but this is really cool. Also, thank you for not using the Mercator projection! GO BRAZIL!
This is beautiful, amazing graphics and mood. Would like to see more things to do in it. Good job!
Huh, I always thought Stencyl had no potential, this proves me one. Very nice game, really well polished :)
By the way, my game is also about being bipolar, but it's different. Nice job!
Not very intuitive, but very conceptual. Great work!
Cool game once I got the hang of it, very well polished. The sounds were great and the music too, but that lead synth got very annoying after some time. My high score was six thousand something, I don't know it exacly because the game didn't show it. With some other features it could be even better. Good job!
Amazing concept, awesome experience!
Cool pixel shader, but the aim needs some work. Nice sounds.
I like the powerup, but it's somewhat unbalanced. Really could have more of a connection to the theme. Would like to see something at the end, too.
At first I was confused. Then I got more confused. Maybe if the gameplay was more evident this could be better. I like the particle effects and the sounds :)
Very cute entry. Besides some minor glitches it's a good game overall.
Hey there! I played your game, and there are lots of things I wanted to say.
First, I think you should see yourself as someone who has the same potential to make games as an adult. I know you're only 11, and all those adults seem to be some harsh competition, but trying to make great games as adults do is the best way to learn. I started making Unity games when I was 13, and today I am 15, so I kind of know what it's like.
But now, let's talk about the game itself. The first thing I noticed is that the gameplay is not obvious enough. This is what the game looks like to a normal player: Some dude has a weapon (it doesn't shoot, so it must be a sword). There's this pink thing, maybe it's a portal. I see this spinning pointy thing, maybe it's a turret? Then there are these human bugs creatures (I lol'd at this part) and I try to hit those, but there's nothing indicating me that I'm doing then any damage, and I die everytime, so I quit.
A game must always introduce its concepts, sometimes by a tutorial, sometimes just by visuals. I think this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FpigqfcvlM might inspire you.
The story and controls were included in the game's description, but it would be nice if the game told me the story somehow.
Now here are some Unity-specific things that you should follow, they are very easy tips:
- The sky should be anything other than the default color. You can change the color very easily, just click the camera and change it in the inspector.
- The Mouse Look script that comes with Unity is terrible, and I see lots of Unity games using it. I'd recommend using some script from the web, I like the one in this thread: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/a-free-simple-smooth-mouselook.73117/ (this is allowed in the 48 hour compo!) Also, it's a good idea to make the camera speed adjustable.
- You parented the HP, the weapon and the shield to the player, I think. The camera is the ideal parent for GUI stuff like that, so no matter where you look, it's always in place. The shield shouldn't take so much space from the vision, too.
- The 3D text is very low-res by default. You should increase the font size and decrease the character size to avoid this. Using another font is sometimes a good idea, too.
You're on the right track, but keep learning. Starting at a young age is very good to get some skills, but always remember to listen to criticism, even if it sounds harsh (like this one ;) ). Good luck on your career!
You're not allowed to change the game after the deadline:
"MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crash or win condition bugs after the deadline (in a sense, like “porting” to support more players). We also allow “typo” bugs. I.e. A true that should have been a false, a word that should have been a different word, very tiny changes that you would have caught if you had more sleep. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just things you messed up last minute. Typos."
You can continue the development and put a post-compo link for your game, but the original should be the one people rate and must be there. It's the rule.
And just one more thing:
function Update () {
Screen.lockCursor = true
//this removes the cursor
}
At the top of the website there is a big "Edit" button. At the "links" section, put a link for the original with the name Web and a second like with the name Web (post-compo). That way people will rate the original but will still be able to play the more developed version if they want.
Fun little game, but why do all your comments end with a ++
This was a great games and one of the best I've seen so far, but it was a little frustrating to return to the maze everytime I die, sometimes without even knowing why I died. The field of view of the camera should be bigger, but the great landscapes make for the game's flaws. Great job!
NOMNOMNOM
Cool concept and very well executed. Congrats!
I got stuck the first time at 9/12, but completed it the second time I played. This is amazing!
Hmm, got stuck very early. The art is great!
As a fan of Rhythm Heaven, I say this is amazing!
Also, maybe you didn't notice, but the melody really sounds like this: http://adhesivewombat.bandcamp.com/track/8-bit-adventure had to take a star away from innovation because of it :(
Short, but good. I like the katamari style.
At the beginning it was pretty fun, but by the fourth generation it just got too repetitive, and when I couldn't buy a $40,000 farmland because I only had $40,000 I rage quit.
The graphics are cool, though. Nice work!
Neat game. The iso angle makes it a bit difficult to know where the boxes are, but it's still enjoyable. Nice job.
Oh, by the way, you asked me about the sounds in my game. I spoke a whistle to the mic for half a minute or so, mixed it with a few notes and noise, stretched the audio until it was a minute and half, added blur to make it creepier and made a script to play several instances of it at the same time, but in different times, and also scripted it to change pitch and volume randomly.
The graphics are great, this is like entering a mathematician's trippy dream. Unfortunately the gameplay is confusing, and there is no audio :( Would really like to see this developed further. Is that skybox yours?
Oh, by the way, the default MouseLook script that comes with Unity is buggy and defauts to a really great speed, which makes the gameplay a lot worse. You should use a better script like this one http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/a-free-simple-smooth-mouselook.73117/ and make the speed adjustable. Anyway, I want to see more of this!
The concept seems interesting, too bad it's unfinished. Also, some Unity-specific things to change:
- The sky color should be something other that the default blue.
- The standard MouseLook that comes with Unity is terrible, you should use something else (I like this one http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/a-free-simple-smooth-mouselook.73117/)
- function Update() { Screen.lockCursor = true; }
If you manage to complete the game, it could be very interesting.
Great take on the theme. For me the islands should go slower so I had time to think, but maybe I'm just not good at it. Lovely!
Great work, one of the best I've seen!
Fun little game, has a nice flow :)
